“Javier was amazing with Woody! He sent updates and made sure Woody felt comfortable from the start. It was our first time leaving him with someone new, and we couldn’t be happier — would recommend!”

About: I grew up with countless dogs having 2 of my own training one from a puppy and the other as a rescue who was a staffy cross rotty. Im very experienced with nervous and aggressive rescues as almost all our dogs were rescues. I am currently working part time with different jobs I am also studying during the week. On the days I would be caring for dogs I would be with them the whole day. I have a 1st floor flat with access to a near by park it has recently been renovated so the space is clean and comfortable. The dog i was looking after would have access to clean refreshed water, walks atleast twice a day in the near by parks and plenty of cuddles and stimulating activity.
“Katherine and Josh are absolutely brilliant. Frank is the happiest boy when he gets picked up every single time. He gets the care and quality time I had hoped for. It is a home from home and my mind is at ease everytime. Frank has an amazing time with his new bestie Rex and is super comfortable with Katherine and Josh. I couldn’t be happier with how wonderful they treat Frank as if he is one of their own. Thankyou so much 🐾🫶🏻 would highly recommended to everyone!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life (mainly small dogs like miniature schnauzers and French bulldogs) and love all kinds. Unfortunately we lost our little French bulldog last year (called rabbit) and I am now on gardening leave for the next few months and would love to spend time with your dog(s)! I’m currently on gardening leave and not working, so have plenty of time to look after your dogs! I’m already going for at least one walk a day and having a furry friend around will help motivate me to be more active daily. My garden is fully fenced and I live 2 minutes away from 2 lovely parks, perfect for dog walks! We’re a very pet friendly household and your dog is welcome on the sofa (and in the bed too!) I have experience with puppies and young dogs alike and am always happy to match their energy and needs.

“I highly recommend Hannah for looking after your dog! Lilah had the best day, and I was updated throughout the day on what she was up to! It really felt like leaving my dog with a relative, as Hannah and her partner treated her like their own! Will definitely be requesting Hannah’s services again!”

About: Currently only taking short boarding requests due to my girl potentially being spayed in the near future. I’ve owned 3 dogs in my whole 28 years all of from different types of breed which had come with different challenges. As well as having experience with cat, rabbits and guinea pigs. Always willing to put the best effort mentally, physically and compassionately when it comes to my own animals so why not spread that further to those who may need a helping hand. I have experience with protection dogs and exotic cats including 14 Savannah Cats. I am currently fully flexible, available any day and any time that I am needed. I also drive so I can commute further if necessary. However, if boarding is requested they must be able to get along with other dogs. I am a home owner who knows plenty of woods, parks and walking spaces to roam. If I am providing a drop in I will ensure the home is left how I find it and that any animals needs are met even if there are any necessary special requirements.
“I had a last minute schedule change and Rianna was quick to answer her messages, and when it came to looking after out whippet, Winnie, she was wonderful. Rianna sent us so many lovely pictures of Winnie and took her for a long walk. Winnie was happy to see me again at the end of the day, but sad to leave. Thank so much again for taking care of Winnie!”

“Mes deux chiens ont passé un super moment. Ils n'ont pas l'habitude d'être gardés par une personne qu'ils ne connaissent pas. Terrie a su les mettre en confiance et très bien prendre soin d'eux. Nous venons de France, il y avait en plus la différence de la langue. Terrie est super.”

About: I have extensive experience caring for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, and rabbits. Over the years, I've looked after numerous dog breeds, both large and small, and have developed a keen understanding of their unique needs and behaviors. My dedication to pet care means I’m always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and well-taken care of. Moreover, I’m not alone in this commitment. My flatmate and I work together to provide comprehensive and continuous care, ensuring that your pet is never left unattended. This team approach guarantees that your pet receives 24/7 attention and care if needed, giving you peace of mind that they are in safe hands at all times. Me and my flatmate alternate on our sittings to ensure that if needed your pet has the most care possible. Just let us know if constant 24/7 care is needed. We won’t care for cats at our home as we have a balcony and are not on the ground floor. With dogs, we can care for small ones at ours however bigger breeds may be difficult to host. If caring at the pet owners home, we will care for the pet however the owner would want us to.
“Buddy had a lovely day with Harry and came home happily exhausted from all the fun and cuddles! Great comms beforehand and pics sent to keep me informed on the day, can't ask for more!”

“Suzy is absolutely brilliant and Winnie has really loved her days spent with Suzy and Molly and I'm always regularly updated with photos and videos! Suzy is so accommodating and it already feel like Winnie has a second home!”

About: We have been around dogs our whole lives and have been helping care for family, friends' and neighbours' pets. We understand the importance of keeping pets happy, safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Whether it's feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, we treat every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Elicia works from home during the day, while Jack works during the day and is home in the evenings, meaning there is usually someone available to provide care, attention and companionship. We already enjoy taking two walks each day, so regular exercise and outdoor time are part of our routine. Your dog would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of opportunities for walks, playtime, affection and relaxation throughout the day. We are committed to maintaining your pet's usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and settled while in our care. We provide a safe, caring and comfortable environment for every dog in our care. We live in a flat with access to a secure garden, giving dogs space to relax and enjoy outdoor time throughout the day. Dogs staying with us will receive at least two walks a day, alongside plenty of attention, playtime and companionship. We are happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs and will follow their normal routine to help them feel settled and secure. We will cater to your dog's feeding schedule and any specific care requirements, ensuring their needs are met while they are with us. Regular toilet breaks are provided throughout the day, and we ask that dogs are house-trained. We will send regular updates for what your doggy is up to!

“Would 100000% recommend Doris and her family as dog sitters. They welcomed my fur baby into their home as if she was their own. Not only did my pup get to explore a new environment she got plenty of snuggles and a new dog friend for life. 10/10”

Tori and her partner Adam have looked after our miniature schnauzer Cosmo, on several occasion over the last two months including an overnight stay, and I can honestly say they have been nothing short of brilliant. Cosmo really enjoys his time there and they helped him to settle in very quickly. They were happy to maintain his normal routine while he stayed with them and they continuously sent updates and pictures showing him having fun.

Sydney was an excellent pet sitter for Buddy. She was friendly, reliable and clearly loves animals. Buddy was happy, relaxed and very well cared for while we were away. Communication was great and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommended.

Marie was very helpful both in the run up to Maggie's Doggy Day Care, during our Meet and Greet, as well as on the day; she asked me plenty of questions which made me sure Maggie would have a good time. Maggie almost refused to come back with me when I went to pick her up which I think is an even stronger review than anything I could say, so I'd definitely recommend her for anyone's Doggy Care needs!

Katherine and Josh are absolutely brilliant. Thankyou so much 🐾🫶🏻 would highly recommended to everyone!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Basildon commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
