“Gary quickly bonded with our cocker spaniel. She loves sniffing and he let her explore her surroundings so she settled in well. She enjoyed a walk and then relaxed at home. Gary clearly has a way with dogs that makes them feel at home and is very thoughtful. I would have no hesitation recommending him to others.”

About: I have got experienced with several breeds of dogs: dachshund, jack russell, golden retriever and american staffordshire terrier. I had my first dog when I was 15, he was an old dachshund, from that I have got experience on taking care of older dogs.I am currently with a american staffordshire terrier of 1 year and 4 months which led me to join the training course when she was 4 months which led me increase my knowledge concerning about dog behaviors and to help me with pet sitting. Even though I had only two dogs, I had many pet sitting experiences with the dogs i listed before. I am a university student currently doing my mechanical engineering degree. I like to make dogs feel comfortable, satisfying all their needs. If the dog needs to discharge energy I am willing to do several hours of walking and play, instead if they need only company, I can meet that requirement as well.

About: I have been caring for doggies since the age of 10, from small chihuahuas to big staffies and retrievers! I have my own two extremely sweet, loving and playful girls - Judy, and Ava that I’ve had since a pup. They are my babies, have been socialised plenty growing up and are amazing around other animals! I have a huge garden for high energy furry ones, and a comfy sofa for the cuddlers, so if you have a preference in separating your fur baby please let me know! Having looked after many different doggies, I’ve had the amazing experience to meet so many dogs with different personalities! I work part time at Lloyds bank 3 days a week where the rest of the time I’m at home or out with my doggies! My garden is all fenced around at almost 6ft high and big enough for large dogs to have a good run! I always let me girls out for a morning toilet and play around 7am followed by a walk to the park 2 mins away and breakfast when home and then some rest and cuddles on the sofa. By afternoon I usually like to take my girls to leyborne lakes, shorne country park and venture somewhere new! No requirements at all- all doggies are allowed on furniture and can make noise, making sure they’re as comfy as can be! I can be fully flexible to your babies needs and their schedules as I want them to feel as at home as can be ❤️

“Our dog, Monty, had a lovely day with Tracey for his first visit, and we will be very happy for him to stay with her again. He was very well cared for and seemed very relaxed and comfortable with her.”

“Oreo has had the best day today,he gets very well looked after,I can’t thank Ian and Alice enough, they always go above and beyond for Oreo, perfect hosts, can’t thank them enough,”

About: I've grown up with dogs, my dog as a teen was my best friend. We went everywhere together and she was always by my side, so I truly know how much a dog becomes part of a family and how much they mean to you. I've also had multiple rescue cats over 20 years, my current cat i found at 6 weeks old and hes now 10. Im always nervous to leave him so completely understand if you are too. 4 years ago I started looking after other people's dogs and soon gained regular dog sitting. I also took on 2 dogs as a temporary foster care while the owner was unwell. Taking care of dogs isn't just a job, it's a passion. At the moment im at home so can provide care for your pets majority of the day. Unfortunately due to having an elderly cat i can't accommodate any animals in my own home, but im more than happy to pet sit in the pets own home. I also have 2 children who loves animals just as much as i do, they've been taught how to take care of animals and know how to respect an animals boundaries. I currently have availability between 9 and 2 on weekdays without my children but if your pets are good with kids then these hours can be extended later and during weekends. My children absolutely adore animals and know how to care for them. Unfortunately due to having an elderly cat, I can't accept dogs into my home. I will follow any routine that your pet needs in your home, follow any guidance on how your dog is walked, personalities, etc. And I will take care of them just like I would my own.

I can’t thank Ryan and Emmy enough, they’ve both been great looking after Oreo, both been accommodating, they’ve gone above and beyond for us,kept us updated through out the days,be definitely using them again,Oreo has found a friend in cooper they’ve got on so well which has been good for Oreo to have cooper by his side, thanks again both of you,

It was the first time that we had left our Frankie with anyone other than family, whilst we went away. Csilla sent through photos showing Frankie having a wonderful time and making new friends! It really put our minds at ease, we are very happy that we found Csilla and will definitely see her again!

We honestly couldn’t recommend Roksana enough! She looked after both of our dogs, Rascal and Scamp, for two days while we were visiting the area and she was absolutely lovely from start to finish. Communication was brilliant – she was always really quick to respond and sent us lots of photos and videos throughout the day, which was so reassuring. What we loved most was that it genuinely felt like we were leaving the boys with a friend rather than a dog sitter. They were clearly so well looked after, loved and completely at home with her. It meant we could enjoy our days out without worrying about them at all. Thank you so much, Roksana, for taking such lovely care of our boys! 🐾❤️ We’d happily leave them with you again.

Thunder had a wonderful day staying with Gary. We have not left Thunder before and she was at home straight away. She remembered the house and could not wait to go in when we got there. She was so happy to be there that when we picked her up she was still playing with Gary and his lovely wife. Gary is wonderful with dogs. We will be booking again.
Danwei has looked after my puppy Atlas twice now and done an amazing job! It is obvious that Atlas has had plenty of good, engaging playtime as he is calm and content when I walk him home afterwards (he usually yanks my arm off if he is too energetic still). Danwei has been fantastic and so thoughtful in his communication, and very accommodating with timing when I needed it which was so appreciated. I definitely recommend him and will happily continue to book with him myself :)

I had a great experience with Ross. He understood Sheru as he is still a puppy a d was very calm and he knew how to handle a puppy. Sheru enjoyed his long walks and Ross also told me about his situation on walks. I would want to put my pup Sheru with Ross again in near future.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
