About: After losing my beloved Shih Tzu, Teddy, who was part of our family for 12 wonderful years, I realised just how much joy a dog brings to a home. Dog sitting has been a lovely way to share the love I had for Teddy with other dogs while giving them a safe, happy home away from home. I understand that every dog is different, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality and individual needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing, or is more of a couch potato (I’m happy with either! 😂), I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, loved and well cared for. I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you can relax knowing they’re having a great time. I work part-time and mostly from home, which means I’m available to give your dog plenty of attention, walks, and playtime especially throughout the day. My home is friendly and lively, and I ensure every dog feels safe and cared for while their owners are away. I’m flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. Your dogs safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully walled garden and a dog flap, so dogs can safely enjoy outdoor play whenever they like. I work mostly from home, so your dog will have plenty of companionship throughout the day. There is almost always someone at home, ensuring your pet is never left alone for long. My home is friendly, calm and designed to make dogs feel secure and happy.

About: I have had pets all my life from horses, dogs, cats and smaller animals. I love walking and enjoy the company of animals and joy they bring. I have plenty of time to walk dogs. I have a lovely garden and a peaceful environment for them to enjoy. They would be happy and comfortable with me and my 26yr old dog crazy son. I have a fenced garden and am surrounded by numerous walks for your pet to enjoy. I have had dogs all of my life and would enjoy the company of your pet as unfortunately we lost our beautiful lab 2 yrs ago as miss having a dog.
“Chrissie was brilliant and our dog had a lovely day with her out walking and enjoying herself. She was totally shattered when she got home! Will be using Chrissie again for certain.”

“Thank you so much Gabriela! Fiadh clearly had a lovely day with you. Thank you for taking such good care of her. It’s always nerve wracking leaving our fur babies with new people but I needn’t have worried. It was lovely to receive the photo and video updates - seeing Fi playing in the garden, having her naps and making new doggy friends. We will be back!”

About: My autistic son LOVES animals and so they have always played an important role in our home. Over the years we have owned and cared for 2 dogs, 7 cats, 2 guinea pigs a hamster, and a goldfish as well as the pets of family friends that we also care for. I have completed 'Dogs for Good' Family Service Dog workshops, have experience with senior care (our Japanese Akita lived til nearly 14 yrs old), have had our Cavapoo since puppy and have raised a litter of 5 kittens from birth. I home educate my son and as such we spend a lot of our time at home. We love nothing more than hanging out, snuggling with our cats and dog on the sofa during down time, playing with them in our garden and going for walks through the woods near our house. I have a large 20 sqm fenced garden which your fur babies would have full access to. I live on a quiet cul-de-sac with a recreation ground and woodland within a couple of minutes walk. I can accommodate a crate if your dog is crate trained.
“Patricia and George were fantastic with Nova who didn’t want to leave! It was a one-off as we are visiting the area. Communication brilliant and they were very tolerant of a changing time as Nova had and unexpected trip to the vets just before. They looked after a young dog with a swollen throat with much care and love.”

About: All my life I’ve grown up and handled dogs with all sorts of personalities. From reactive German Shepherds to mellow King Charles Spaniel’s, I am confident to say your fur-babies will be in the most respectable, capable hands around. I work full time from home, so will always be around for those much needed loo breaks, a cuddle to break the day up or even a friendly face for their snack times! In my home, I have an enclosed garden which has a very sturdy fence all around along with hedges for that extra protection. If its preferred, I am more than happy to come along to your home.

“Sookie had a wonderful time with Carol! She came back happy and we got lots of lovely pictures and videos throughout the day. Carol makes sure all of your doggy needs are taken care of and is a reliable day care host. We will definitely use her services again”

“Nadene is absolutely amazing! She’s a really nice, fun, bubbly personality with a lovely home & family. You can tell how much she loves the dogs, actually when I went in to collect Lucy the whole family were playing with her which was beautiful to see. When we get close in the morning Lucy looks up out of the windows full of excitement with her tail wagging and runs to the door as we get out of the van. Thank you guys”

“Rosie was fabulous. She looked after our mutts perfectly on a very hot day - and sent us lots of photos. She and her husband, Jack, clearly love dogs and their two cute Dachshunds were very happy to share their home. Rosie and Jack were very friendly and likeable and are highly recommended.”

“Our dog Jessie spent a day at Joanne's and had a lovely time playing with her dog. Receiving a text and a photo of Jessie made me feel at ease. I would definitely recommend Joanne and wouldn't hesitate booking with her again.”

“Cookie came home a happy and tired little dog after her stay with Christina and her doggies. I was a sent a couple of videos of Cookie going for her walks. I know Cookie can be a bit anxious at settling into a new environment but she seemed a happy doggie when I picked her up. Also Christina has been very flexible when timings had to change a little. Thank you Christina and family”

“Thanks so much for entertaining Charlie the tennis-ball obsessed border collie over the past three days! We’ll plan some future dog-care dates. I know that he’ll have enjoyed his strolls around the Barbican. He’ll have loved his trip to the beach … he seemed very happy (and wet ,,, which makes him even happier). Great to see him settled easily and snoozing. He was clearly really comfortable in your company.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Sevenoaks
Ana was brilliant. She started with a house sit so Cosmo could settle in comfortably before transitioning him to her place just down the road. She sent a care form in advance covering feeding, walking, commands and tricks, which gave me real confidence ahead of the stay. Throughout, her communication was prompt and reassuring, with regular updates and photos. Cosmo got plenty of fuss and was clearly well looked after. Trustworthy and professional. I’ll absolutely be booking again.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
