“Ariadne and John were absolutely fantastic sitters! They took care of our needy cat and anxious pup over the long Easter weekend and it was perfect. Super reliable, good communication, a picture of each pet a day, and super flexible to accommodate our pets' specific needs. They even did us other favors like putting out our bin and watering our numerous plants. Our house was spotless when we got back, and our pets were well looked after. We will absolutely book them again!”

About: I have had a love for animals my whole life. I studied animal management and become a dog groomer at college to then go on to become a professional dog walker 7 years ago. I have dealt with all types of dogs young and old and also with different types of behavioural issues and sizes. I treat all dogs as if they are my own and give them the care and love they deserve. I have walked as many as 8 dogs on a walk but have also done solo walks. I currently have a couple of hours free each day int he mornings between 9.30-11.30 now working part time as well as some weekend availability for pet sitting I follow instructions left by owners and keep things as routine to the dog as I can. I am respectful and trustworthy with experience of pet sitting in others houses. I have experience with different breeds and temperaments.
“The absolute best dog carer we've ever come across! Professional, caring, communicative, trustworthy - goes above and beyond to give your dog the best. Reya looked after our two cockapoos as well as my mum's two cockapoos for four days - so four cockapoos in total! She asked all of the right questions ahead of the stay which put us at ease and showed she genuinely cared about their routine and how to best care for them. During the stay Reya made sure all of dogs got equal levels of her attention and made the effort to play with them with toys and bubbles, give them regular walks, cuddles and even let them all sleep in her bed with her! One of the dogs, Coco, can be quite anxious and has had a traumatising kennel experience in the past but Reya managed to gain her trust pretty quickly which we found amazing and quite emotional to see. Reya even came back later on the last day to debrief the stay with us and told us all about each individual dog and how they behaved - she also put together an amazing video montage for us to watch showing everything they got up to! They really looked like they had the time of their lives! We feel so lucky to have found Reya and will not hesitate to book her again! Thank you Reya!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs practically my whole life. From looking after our own family dog for 12 years, to being the first contact for friends and family’s dogs when they go away. Puppies, big dogs, energetic dogs, nervous dogs, you name it I can handle it! I work full time but am happy to pop in/feed/walk any time in the morning or evening. I am available to dog sit with full time care from Friday evening until Monday mornings. I will treat your pet like my own, caring for every need and ensuring they do not want for anything while their parents are away!
About: My autistic son LOVES animals and so they have always played an important role in our home. Over the years we have owned and cared for 2 dogs, 7 cats, 2 guinea pigs a hamster, and a goldfish as well as the pets of family friends that we also care for. I have completed 'Dogs for Good' Family Service Dog workshops, have experience with senior care (our Japanese Akita lived til nearly 14 yrs old), have had our Cavapoo since puppy and have raised a litter of 5 kittens from birth. I home educate my son and as such we spend a lot of our time at home. We love nothing more than hanging out, snuggling with our cats and dog on the sofa during down time, playing with them in our garden and going for walks through the woods near our house. I have a large 20 sqm fenced garden which your fur babies would have full access to. I live on a quiet cul-de-sac with a recreation ground and woodland within a couple of minutes walk. I can accommodate a crate if your dog is crate trained.
“Amber is a lovely girl who we felt happy to leave sitting with our year old Cockapoo Winnie. Hospital appointments can be long and stressful for me, so it was a relief to find Winnie happy and relaxed when I came home. I will be more than happy for Amber to look after Winnie again in the future”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life of varying sizes and temperaments. I’ve dog sat/walked for friends and family many times and find dogs to be some of the best company! I’m an actress who works part time in hospitality. My work is very flexible and low commitment so can be adjusted to caring for any animals! I also am studying part time but it is an online course so can be done from any location :) I am happy using variety of different leads and harnesses. Confident putting dogs in crates and assessing for any potential risks whilst out and about.
“Dina was absolutely brilliant. Throughout the whole process, Dina paid attention to detail and showed a lot of empathy for our little man. She made a point of making sure we were happy and comfortable too. She also kept us updated the whole time. We came back to a clean house and a very happy, obviously cared for little dog. Paddy is often anxious and detached after we return from a trip away but he was completely at ease when we got back - he was obviously very well taken care of. We would recommend Dina to anyone and would definitely ask for her back again.”

About: As a family we have had cats and dogs all our lives. Since our bundle of joy Saskia came along we have found new levels of dog walking fun in all weathers in our local parks where we meet so many amazing pups and their owners. Our Shih Tzu Saskia is super friendly with dogs and cats and will adapt to your pets needs whether they want to play all day or simply chill. I walk our pup in the beautiful countryside by our home and other local parks daily. We also have a secure garden and a car to drive to other locations. Our pup and feline are used to being around other cats and dogs. I can be with the your pets at all times where required.
“Couldn’t recommend Dannielle enough. We were gone 2 weeks and I was able to switch off completely knowing she was taking such great care of our 2 cats. She was sending daily updates and gorgeous photos and when we arrived home our cats were both in such happy spirits and I know that’s because of the love and attention Dannielle gave them when we were away. We are so grateful for her!!”

First time we’ve used Grace and she was great! Stepped in relatively last minute which was already a godsend but on top of that she was just great. Grace came over to meet us and the dog first and put our minds at ease, then whilst we were away she took her time to build trust with our aloof chow chow which isn’t always easy! She kept us updated without being over the top and we felt at ease whilst away knowing he was being well looked after. Grace also left the house tidy, overall can wholeheartedly recommend and hope to have Grace look after Pablo in the future! Thank you so much xx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sevenoaks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
