“It was our first time booking Nikki, and also our first time having someone look after Fiadh in our flat. Add in that Fiadh had just had her spay and was still in recovery. Nikki was fabulous from point of meet and greet to her calm and reassuring presence on the night. Fiadh settled quickly with Nikki and as a result we were able to go out for the night feeling calm. We highly recommend Nikki and look forward to seeing her again.”

“Liam was very understanding with our nervous dog. He was very easy to book last minute. He was very accommodating and her clearly made our dogs feel at ease as they were cuddling with him on the sofa. We would highly recommend.”

“Matthew has just done a two week housesit with three dogs in roasting conditions. He was absolutely brilliant. He clearly cared for them all exceedingly well. He adjusted their walk times to ensure they got out on walks very early and very late in the day to avoid the worst of the heatwave. He was grooming them and checking for signs of distress. He dealt with a matted fur area on the paw of a fluffy cavapoo and gave them a lot of love and sent me a load of photos. Matthews communication with me prior to the sit and during was first class. Particularly helpful as I had work going on in the house while he was away and he gave me feedback on how that was going. He has left the house tidy and even ensured that loads of windows were already open in the rooms I and my family including some under 5s were coming back to. I would highly recommend Matthew.”

About: Hi! I’m Sarah, a French pet sitter with over 15 years of experience caring for animals. I’ve grown up with pets all my life, including dogs, cats, and rabbits. I’m reliable, caring, and attentive to each pet’s needs. I am also a volunteer at the Tunbridge Wells Wildlife Hospital, helping care for injured and rescued wild animals. I’ll be happy to look after your beloved companions, give them plenty of love and attention, and even teach them some French! ❤️ I have a flexible schedule and can easily adapt to your pet’s needs and routine. I’m currently writing a book, which allows me to spend long periods of time at home or in your home while working. This means your pet can enjoy plenty of company, attention, and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, medication, or simply a reassuring presence, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them feel most comfortable. I always respect each pet’s routine and personality. I take the time to build trust, especially with shy or anxious animals, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I keep owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind
About: Hi! 👋 I live in central Tunbridge Wells with my partner and our three cats. Growing up in a family that regularly adopted rescue pets, caring for animals has been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've looked after and owned pets with all sorts of personalities – from large, energetic dogs to independent cats, cuddly companions, and senior pets who enjoy taking things slower. These days, I'm often the first person family and friends call when they need someone reliable to care for their pets while they're away. I understand that every animal is unique, so I'm happy to tailor my visits to suit your pet's individual needs, whether that's walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or just being there to keep them company. I'm also great with smaller animals and have previously owned birds, chickens, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. I'll keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you know your pet is happy, comfortable, and in safe hands while you're away. I have access to my own car and can also walk to local bookings. I'd love to meet you and your furry family members, let's to arrange a meet and greet today! 🐾 I currently work from home for a national animal welfare charity in non-vetanarity role, which offers flexibility across the week. Because of this (and my lifetime of cat ownership!) have a solid understanding of behaviours and best practice - particularly around cats. Your home is just as important to me as your pets. I'll always treat it with care and respect. Before booking, I'm happy to chat through your pet's routine and any specific instructions you may have. My goal is to make sure you feel happy, comfortable, and reassured from the start.
“Amy looked after our 5 month old Labrador puppy, Scooby, for a weekend whilst we were away. I have never used Rover and we were apprehensive, as Scooby is a puppy, to leave him with someone but I had no reason to worry at all, Amy was amazing! Amy came to the house and met Scooby a few weeks before we went away and straight away I felt at ease. Scooby loved her and Amy is a natural with dogs! Whilst we were away Amy provided regular Pupdates and Scooby loved his weekend with a new friend. We will definitely ask Amy to look after Scooby again when we next need a dog sitter. Thank you so much Amy!!”

“Rita was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter for our 20-day trip! From the very beginning, she was warm, reliable, and clearly experienced with cats. She took excellent care of Freya—administering her medications as advised, keeping up with her routines, and most importantly, bonding with her beautifully. Freya took to her instantly. We received regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Rita also kept the house spotless and even left us a lovely plant as a thoughtful surprise. Her presence made our travels truly worry-free. I would highly recommend Rita to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and genuinely kind cat sitter—and would absolutely have her back again!”

“Chloe was great, my Roly poly fell asleep on her, which is a compliment in itself, normally Roly sits in my chair staring out the window. I would definitely ask Chloe to dog sit again.”

“Isabella & Adam were perfect sitters. I came back to a very happy Freddie, who had clearly enjoyed having them look after him. The house was tidy and well cared for, and I was incredibly impressed with everything they did. It gave me great peace of mind knowing Freddie and my home were in such good hands while I was away. I can’t thank them enough and would happily recommend them to anyone. Thank you both for everything! 🐾😊”

“Shannon was amazing. She was happy to do a meet and greet and spent the whole day with Persy. She was very comunicative and responsive to all our messages. She really put us at ease as we were nervous to leave her for the first time for a holiday! Thank you Shannon! Will definitely use again 😊”

About: I've had dogs ever since I was born, and have always enjoyed dog walks and looking after them. This includes a rescue dog who had issues so am able to look after them as well. I'm currently in a level year so looking after dogs could be a nice break, available every weekend and also on weekdays after 4 pm. I have a fenced garden with a friendly dog and also, quite relaxed on dogs allowed upstairs and on furniture , pretty sure we still have a crate as well.
About: I grew up in a household filled with many pets, mainly dogs (we had nine dogs at one point), as well as cats, reptiles, birds and fish, so caring for pets has always been second nature to me. I’ve recently returned to the UK after a year in Australia, where I discovered my love for pet and house sitting. It quickly became one of my favourite ways to travel, and I’m excited to continue doing it now that I’m back home. I’m a compassionate, considerate, and conscientious person who finds looking after other people’s pets and homes deeply rewarding. I’ve cared for many dog breeds — including spaniels, dachshunds, pit bulls, retrievers, poodles, and greyhounds — each with their own personalities and needs, from lively puppies to gentle seniors. I’m comfortable administering medication and have plenty of experience with anxious pets and rescue animals. I love long walks and hikes, and having a furry companion along for the adventure is always a highlight. I also take great pride in keeping homes clean, tidy, and well cared for while owners are away. If you feel I might be the perfect fit for your pets, I’d love to hear from you! I’m self-employed and work remotely, which means I have a very flexible schedule and can be available any day of the week. I can easily fit pet care around my work, allowing me to spend plenty of quality time with your pets throughout the day. Whether it’s a midday walk, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I’m able to give them the attention they need whenever they need it. When house sitting, I make sure pets feel comfortable and secure in their own space by keeping to their usual routines — feeding times, walks, favourite toys, bedtime rituals. I treat every home with respect, keep things clean and tidy, and send regular updates so you know your pets are happy and cared for. For dog walks, I tailor each outing to suit their energy and personality, whether that’s a gentle stroll or a lively run around the park. Walks are a great opportunity for exercise and stimulation, so I make sure every dog gets the attention they deserve.

We love it when Nicola comes to watch Buzz and Samson! She is so kind, gentle and patient with our "problem" dog, Buzz, and Samson loves playing with her. Nicola is a wonderful sitter and really understands how to manage animals. She is very communicative and we received plenty of updates from he. I have a great deal of confidence in Nicola's care of our dogs and I'll use her again & again when she's available!

Tom was great at looking after our mastiff Diego, he was very friendly, communicated really well with us and was brilliant with Diego, he handled him really well. I would definitely recommend him and I will be booking him again soon, thank you so much Tom.
Charleigh was excellent! She looked after my boy for 5 days while I was on a trip abroad and came back to a very happy puppy! She gave lovely regular updates while I was gone and took care to understand and follow his routine ☺️ will definitely be booking again! Thank you so much! 🐾

India did a wonderful job looking after my little darlings for 2 nights. She followed all my instructions, was very communicative throughout, putting my mind at ease being away from my pets and was respectful of my home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend India to anyone, she's a gentle person and my pets feel at home with her which is the most important thing when going away.

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 84% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
