“Liam was very understanding with our nervous dog. He was very easy to book last minute. He was very accommodating and her clearly made our dogs feel at ease as they were cuddling with him on the sofa. We would highly recommend.”

“Matthew has just done a two week housesit with three dogs in roasting conditions. He was absolutely brilliant. He clearly cared for them all exceedingly well. He adjusted their walk times to ensure they got out on walks very early and very late in the day to avoid the worst of the heatwave. He was grooming them and checking for signs of distress. He dealt with a matted fur area on the paw of a fluffy cavapoo and gave them a lot of love and sent me a load of photos. Matthews communication with me prior to the sit and during was first class. Particularly helpful as I had work going on in the house while he was away and he gave me feedback on how that was going. He has left the house tidy and even ensured that loads of windows were already open in the rooms I and my family including some under 5s were coming back to. I would highly recommend Matthew.”

“It was our first time booking Nikki, and also our first time having someone look after Fiadh in our flat. Add in that Fiadh had just had her spay and was still in recovery. Nikki was fabulous from point of meet and greet to her calm and reassuring presence on the night. Fiadh settled quickly with Nikki and as a result we were able to go out for the night feeling calm. We highly recommend Nikki and look forward to seeing her again.”

“First time I’ve used rover and Leiah was absolutely amazing kept me updated with how my dog was getting on plenty of picture updates too. Would 100% recommend using her, absolutely lovely lady. Amazing 10 out of 10”

“Christie looked after our cats Cassie and Willow for 4 nights and I knew from the start they'd be in great hands- Christie was very friendly and clearly a cat lover! She sent daily written updates along with photos and videos which we really appreciated while being away. Our flat was immaculate upon return, with Cassie and Willow very relaxed and content! Thank you very much Christie.”

“Rita was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter for our 20-day trip! From the very beginning, she was warm, reliable, and clearly experienced with cats. She took excellent care of Freya—administering her medications as advised, keeping up with her routines, and most importantly, bonding with her beautifully. Freya took to her instantly. We received regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Rita also kept the house spotless and even left us a lovely plant as a thoughtful surprise. Her presence made our travels truly worry-free. I would highly recommend Rita to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and genuinely kind cat sitter—and would absolutely have her back again!”

About: I’ve owned several dogs and cats for more than 30 years. I’ve had moggies, Maine Coons, Beagles and Cyprus Rescues. I’m also a trained dog groomer. I have my own dog and enjoy walks. I can walk at any time of the day. I can also sit in your own home for half days or pop in when needed. I treat dogs and cats like family which mine are. I give lots of cuddles but always let them approach me as they are comfortable. I can walk them, pop them in the garden and of course feed them. I provide company and companionship.
About: I live in central Tunbridge Wells, a few minutes walk away from a great park/field and the woods. I have a small dog myself, who I absolutely adore, and would love to help out anyone who needs their beloved pet looking after. I have had my dog for 12 years and have looked after many friends pets whilst they have gone on holiday; so I have plenty of experience in both Dog Walking and looking after small dogs in my home. Although I can’t have a large dog stay at mine (max 10 kilos) I am more than happy to provide home visits and play/walk bigger dogs and / or cats. Whilst looking after your pet I’ll happily send you updates and photos / videos. I work from home so will be around all the time whilst sitting. I absolutely love animals (probably more than humans!) So your pet is in safe and loving hands with me (please read my reviews). WALKS: our new furry friend can be walked up to three times a day (depending on requirements), so they are never bored and will enjoy going to different parks / walks / woods. If you advise, then I’ll keep your dog on the lead, your pooch will get lots of love and fun staying with us 🥰🐶🐱❤️ I currently work from home so you Dog will be continuously supervised. We can work with you to agree a schedule. Always happy to help. I live in a flat, but have a fenced/gated communal garden. Your dog will have the company of my dog who is very patient and experienced in having furry friends over. Your dog will never be left on their own.

About: I have taken an active role in caring for my Labrador Bosco since I was 12 including walking him regularly, feeding him every day and teaching him tricks and making enrichment activities. I care greatly about animals and would love to spend time around more dogs and cats! I want to ensure your pets feel safe and loved when you are away. I am currently on summer holiday before university so I have plenty of time to play with your pets! I am free many weeks this summer. I will care for your pet with attentively and affectionately and you can trust me to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience while you do the same.
“Shannon was amazing. She was happy to do a meet and greet and spent the whole day with Persy. She was very comunicative and responsive to all our messages. She really put us at ease as we were nervous to leave her for the first time for a holiday! Thank you Shannon! Will definitely use again 😊”

“Alec is super professional in every way! He came to meet us and our two spaniels weeks before we left on holiday to introduce himself and get to know us and our dogs. He kept us updated while we were away with the most beautiful photographs of our beloved boys, went the extra mile by taking special care of our home and garden, and gave us complete peace of mind so we could enjoy our time away. He left our house neat, clean and tidy and we cannot recommend him strongly enough!”

“Beverley was great. She house-sat for a day and stayed overnight, took good care of my dog and cats, treated the house as her own and kept it clean and tidy. We even had a coffee the next day in the garden and got to know one another a bit better. She’s absolutely lovely. Definitely recommend her to take care of furry family!”

Amy is a wonderful dog sitter! She instantly bonded with our puppy Cherry and sent us some adorable doggy updates whilst we were at a family wedding. Amy is a lovely and kind person who we would 100% recommend to anyone, her dog Brody is absolutely gorgeous too and a big golden softie! Thank you again Amy 💜

We have just used Liam for the first time to dogs our two cockapoos. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He looked after the dogs so well and we came home to a spotless, tidy house. Communication was excellent with lots of photos and quick response to any messages. Very flexible and willing to help out by extending the stay when we thought we might not make it home. I will definitely be using Liam again.

We love it when Nicola comes to watch Buzz and Samson! She is so kind, gentle and patient with our "problem" dog, Buzz, and Samson loves playing with her. I have a great deal of confidence in Nicola's care of our dogs and I'll use her again & again when she's available!

India did a wonderful job looking after my little darlings for 2 nights. She followed all my instructions, was very communicative throughout, putting my mind at ease being away from my pets and was respectful of my home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend India to anyone, she's a gentle person and my pets feel at home with her which is the most important thing when going away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tunbridge Wells choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
