“The one place Bellsie is truly happy with away from home. When she realised where she was going today, she literally dragged me running there. The best care you could ask for,”

About: I’ve cared for animals for many years through owning pets myself and regularly helping friends with pet sitting and walking their dogs. I’m confident with walks, routines and making sure dogs feel comfortable and happy. I’m reliable, caring and enjoy giving dogs the exercise, attention and company they need while you’re busy or away. I’m currently between jobs, so I have a very flexible schedule and can offer walks throughout the day during weekdays and weekends. This means I’m available for regular walks, last-minute bookings, and different routine times to suit your dog’s needs. I’m happy to follow your usual routine, walking preferences and any instructions carefully. I’ll always make sure dogs are secure on walks, well cared for, and given plenty of attention.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and owner of a big, very lovable Labrador, so I know just how much our dogs are part of the family. I’m confident with larger dogs, enthusiastic walkers and those who are particularly enthusiastic about food! I’m calm, sensible and reliable, and very happy getting out for a proper walk rather than simply doing a quick lap around the block. Most importantly, I know how much trust is involved in leaving your dog with somebody else. I’ll look after your dog as I’d want someone to look after mine, with plenty of attention, affection and reassurance, and I’m always happy to keep you updated while they’re with me. I have two cats so any dog coming to stay needs to be on good terms with cats and does not chew furniture! I work from home, so dogs can fit very naturally into my day. They’ll have company throughout the day, access to the garden and a proper lunchtime walk, usually in one of the two parks close to my home. My own Labrador is always around too, so there’s plenty of opportunity for play, company and snoozing afterwards. I have a safe, fully fenced grassed garden and a friendly five-year-old Labrador who loves having company. Dogs are welcome to make themselves at home and will be treated as part of the family while they’re here. I’ll follow your usual routines around feeding, walks and rest, and I’m very happy to accommodate individual needs. I would always want our dogs to meet first to make sure they’re comfortable together before their first stay.
“Liam has been wonderfully attentive with Juniper, and has taken care to keep us updated all day. We were reassured we always knew what she was doing and that she was well looked after. She even appeared unsure she wanted to leave at the end of the day. 🥲 Thank you, Liam!”

“Olivia looked after my lab Brody for the day at very short notice. When I dropped him off Brody RAN towards her, so I knew he’d be in good hands. Trip out for lunch, a walk in the woods with his new friend Nala and plenty of playtime. Brody was a very happy boy when I picked him up. Olivia shared lots of pictures and updates and I can’t thank her enough. Will definitely be in touch next time :) thank you!”

“Jamie and Liv were great, we did a meet up the day before and they sent updates throughout the day. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to other dog owners! 😊”

About: I’ve owned several dogs and cats for more than 30 years. I’ve had moggies, Maine Coons, Beagles and Cyprus Rescues. I’m also a trained dog groomer. I have my own dog and enjoy walks. I can walk at any time of the day. I can also sit in your own home for half days or pop in when needed. I treat dogs and cats like family which mine are. I give lots of cuddles but always let them approach me as they are comfortable. I can walk them, pop them in the garden and of course feed them. I provide company and companionship.

“Jen and her family are stars! Ottie is clearly looked after so well, as if she's Jen's own dog. You can tell ottie feels safe and relaxed from how she pulls up Jen's road whenever we walk past! Thank you Jen!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs for family and friends, including feeding, walking, and supervising my sister’s dog and my mum’s friend’s dogs. I'm available in the weekdays. I play football on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday's football is in the morning but I'm free the rest of the day, afternoon onwards. Saturday's I'm free if I have no game or there is a season break. I give pets plenty of attention, take them on long walks, and always make sure they have fresh water, comfortable and are well cared for.
“Ana was the first person to look after our 4-month-old puppy, and he clearly had a wonderful time. Ana sent me regular photos/updates, and when I came to collect our puppy he was in no rush to go--he was having a lovely time with Ana and her dog! I am looking forward to booking Ana again and I know my puppy is too.”

“Georgia was very welcoming and took Milo in with a big greeting and lots of attention. Photos show that he was his normal self and her report back on pick up was the same story. Thanks Georgia - highly recommended. Hope to see you again not to long from now.”

“Totally lovely lady, Millie is a very anxious girl and hates being separated from me but she warmed to Rebecca after a few minutes.. she enjoyed her walks and cuddles and fell asleep when we got home. Will definitely be using this lady again. She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day. I was so thankful she was so kind. Thank you so much”

“Veronica is a lovely, warm lady who clearly loves dogs. The home is warm and comfortable and Dogly settled immediately. I could tell from the photos and video that Dogly was quite content.”

“Felt so reassured leaving Ziggy with Kirsten for the day. It’s the first time we had used a sitter and felt comfortable straight away - we’ve now booked her for a weeks stay when we go on holiday. Ziggy didn’t want to leave!”

“Cecily was great, very responsive and asked lots of important questions both before collection and during the day. It was a short notice booking but we could tell our spaniel was in safe hands!”

It was our first time leaving Otis and Olivia made us feel really comfortable! Her place and garden were perfect for Otis to play around with and Nala was very sweet. They both got on super well. Olivia was really confident with Otis, super flexible and generally lovely! We definitely recommend and will be using Olivia again!

It seems Milo was a bit unsettled maybe because of brand new surroundings. Even at home he does tend to bark when people walk by but eventually he settles down. Must have been hard on Kirsten. Sorry for that. Kirsten took him out for a walk on a wet day and went out of her way to take very good care of him and so he’s come home happy. Would be happy to rebook any time. Thanks Kirsten

Katie and Dexter are fantastic! Katie clearly knows a log about dogs and takes good care of ottie. She takes O for new walks but is also sensitive to when it gets too hot and best just to stay at home for cuddles! Ottie clearly enjoys her days with Katie and feels safe. Thanks Katie!

Jordan has been fabulous. Loki truly enjoyed the day with him yesterday. Would add to say Jordan has been flexible and very accommodating. He also sent me updates mid day to let me know that Loki was settling in well. Will certainly arrange regular sitting with Jordan.
Francesca is a wonderful pet-sitter! Milo loved her and I think was a bit disappointed when it was time to come home. She clearly loves dogs and the work she does. Goes on long walks with the pooches, extending treats along the way. All fun and games with Francesca! Highly recommend!

Claudia and Bear met us before Winnie stayed over so that they were well acquainted. On the day of the her stay, we were really grateful for the updates and it was clear Winnie was being very well looked after. Highly recommend Claudia for looking after your dog!

A one-off doggy day care was needed for our 1 yr old cocker spaniel, Monty, when attending a family funeral. Jamie made excellent contact, was flexible in the arrangements, and provided a fun day for his golden retriever playing with Monty. Jamie was very natural with him and I would have no hesitation in recommending him. Thank you Jamie

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
