“Liam is a wonderful dog sitter, considerate and thoughtful, sending lots of updates. We feel very lucky to have found somebody who cares for our dog and we trust implicitly”

“Rebecca made me feel so at ease from the very beginning - it being my first booking on Rover. She kept me informed and updated throughout the sit and I was sent loads of pics showing just how relaxed Tommy was in her care. I booked her again that same week! Will definitely use again and am so glad I found someone I can trust.”

“Absolutely wonderful! Anya is a true dog lover, and made Olga feel right at home. I got regular updates and photographs of Olga out and about, snuggling in Anya’s bed, and huddled together on the couch with the family. Would recommend 100%, and will definitely be sending Olga there again”

“Balloo had a great weekend with Sarah, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Sarah kept us up to date with how Balloo was doing and all the fun things like making new friend with Sarha’s grandson, which I know Balloo loved, his new doggie friend Daisy who he seems to be his best buddy. He had walks and played in her garden lots of cuddles snuggling up and her grandsons lap. I would recommend Sarah highly.”

“Ana made sure Roxy had a holiday of her own! I received so many beautiful photos and felt so happy knowing she was taken care of so well. Would definitely use Ana again.”

“Jasper had a really great stay with Jamie! Can really tell they’re dog lovers, they kept me updated with videos and pictures & Jasper looked like he had an absolute ball with George! I had a very happy & tired dog. Would absolutely recommend, thank you again! 🐾”

“A huge thank you to Luke for looking after our dog, Pippa, so well. She can be a little timid at first and Luke settled her with his gorgeous dog Rosie really well. I hugely appreciated the regular updates he sent. She had a brilliant time with Luke and Rosie, going on lots of walks, playing and snoozing on the sofa! Pippa’s already booked in for her next stay.”

“Our pup Spud had a lovely time with Zoe! Zoe was great with communicating with us both before and during Spud's stay and we loved receiving pictures of him looking so happy! We knew Spud was in very safe and caring hands. We would highly recommend Zoe and will be contacting her about future visits!”

“Absolutely brilliant dog sitter! Laura looked after Captain as her own, we got loads of cute photos and stories of and about Captain. Each time putting big smiles on our faces. It felt so special to know he had a positive impact on them and was a good boyyo:) we will definitely be leaving Captain in Laura’s safe hands again, and he already can’t wait 🤩 thank you Laura and co 🙏🏼☺️”

“I couldn’t have asked for more! Julie was incredible and Poppy adored her. I got regular updates and photos and felt confident that my little girl was being well cared for while I was gone. Would recommend Julie to anyone and will definitely be rebooking with her in the future. Thanks again Julie xx”

“Joanna and her bf were wonderful hosts and super lovely. They have an adorable dachshund that’s close to Cosmo’s age too. We met for a play date 2 days earlier to introduce them to one another and it went well. Joanna was also knowledgeable in general Spitz behaviour which made me more comfortable. Cosmo has separation anxiety but she kept him company whilst ensuring she gave him his space when he wanted it. She kept me up to date, sent me photos, and was responsive. Glad Cosmo made new friends and will definitely visit again! 😊”

“Rheid looked after my dog, Kiko, for the day and was absolutely brilliant. Rheid was friendly, reliable and clearly very caring. Kiko took a shine to her immediately. Kiko was happy, relaxed and well looked after. Receiving photos of their adventures gave me real peace of mind. I would happily recommend Rheid to anyone looking for kind and trustworthy dog care, and I’d definitely use her again.”

About: Having grown-up with dogs and cats, I’ve always had a love and respect for animals. During my university and early work years, I regularly house-sat for friends and colleagues, looking after a range of dog sizes - from Yorkies through to Rhodesian Ridgebacks. During my 10 years living in the Middle East, I was an active volunteer at both Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter and Canine Friends - the latter where I was responsible for the rehabilitation of dogs that had suffered significant trauma. Since moving to the UK in 2022, I have frequently walked and hosted our neighbours dogs. I work from home 3-days a week and that affords me the flexibility to either work from my own residence or in the pets home. I love being active and exercise plays a big part of my life - therefore always happy to take out some four-legged friends rain, hail or shine. I live in a fully-fenced and secure home - and your dog would always remain on the ground floor and within eyesight at all times. Likewise when sitting in the pets home, I like to work closely with both the dog and owner in gaining a rapport and friendship.
“Clara has been to stay with Keely twice now, I get photo updates at least once a day and feel confident that Clara is happy and well cared for when there. I will happily use Keely again to take care of Clara”

“Bailey was looked after so well whilst we were away. It was so nice getting regular photo updates, and we could see he really settled in very quickly and felt at home. He even got a bath and brush and came home smelling wonderful 🥰 Will definitely look to rebook Miriam when we are next away.”

“Would highly recommend Bryony and Matt. They had Milo for a long weekend and I felt so at ease and comfortable, they treat Milo like he’s their own and kept me updated. Milo gets very excited to them. Thank you x”

Liam was absolutely brilliant. My dog Betsy fell in love with him – and I can see why. He kept me up-to-date with lots of photos and information about how she was doing. He really put my mind at ease and made me not worry at all. I would highly recommend him and would love to use him for sitting again.

Fran and Jamie gave Stark a great break. As a nervous dog we were very pleased with how successful his stay was. Communication leading up to and during was fantastic, quick accurate and always very friendly. We will definitely use again in the future when needed. Thanks guys!

This was our first time using Rover and leaving Winnie with a sitter overnight, so we were naturally a little nervous. From the moment we met, we felt completely at ease. Winnie was so well looked after, and it was lovely receiving updates while we were away. She came home happy, relaxed, and clearly had a great time. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her!

Rheid looked after my dog, Kiko, for the day and was absolutely brilliant. Rheid was friendly, reliable and clearly very caring. Kiko took a shine to her immediately. Kiko was happy, relaxed and well looked after. Receiving photos of their adventures gave me real peace of mind. I would happily recommend Rheid to anyone looking for kind and trustworthy dog care, and I’d definitely use her again.

I left my Golden Retriever with Lyn for three nights. Before the stay, I exchanged a few messages with her and she always replied promptly. We also had an initial meet-and-greet at her home, where she was very friendly and welcoming. During the stay, Lyn sent daily updates and photos, which I found very reassuring. Most importantly, my dog appeared happy, relaxed and well cared for throughout her stay, and was content when I collected her. I wouldn't hesitate to leave my dog with Lyn again and would happily recommend her to other owners looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Cecily was wonderful with Coby. He connected with her straight away. She is such a lovely person and so lovely for us to work with too. She was very attentive to Coby and kept us up to date. He had a great time with her running around the common in the sunshine! Thank you, Cecily!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
