“Thank you for looking after our Ivy for the whole week and sending us photo updates for reassurance. It looks like Ivy also had a good holiday with Samara. Today she looks a bit sad, I think she misses you ❤️”

“Rebecca made me feel so at ease from the very beginning - it being my first booking on Rover. She kept me informed and updated throughout the sit and I was sent loads of pics showing just how relaxed Tommy was in her care. I booked her again that same week! Will definitely use again and am so glad I found someone I can trust.”

“Ana is a kind and dedicated doggie owner and sitter. She took such care to welcome Truffle and gave her time to exercise and play with her. I highly recommend her as a sitter. Thanks from Lena and Truffle :)”

“Absolutely wonderful! Anya is a true dog lover, and made Olga feel right at home. I got regular updates and photographs of Olga out and about, snuggling in Anya’s bed, and huddled together on the couch with the family. Would recommend 100%, and will definitely be sending Olga there again”

“Absolutely brilliant dog sitter! Laura looked after Captain as her own, we got loads of cute photos and stories of and about Captain. Each time putting big smiles on our faces. It felt so special to know he had a positive impact on them and was a good boyyo:) we will definitely be leaving Captain in Laura’s safe hands again, and he already can’t wait 🤩 thank you Laura and co 🙏🏼☺️”

“My Cocker Spaniel Nala had her first sleepover with Liam before her pending holiday to see how they both got on together. Well, I needn’t had worried because Nala soon made herself at home & became attached to Liam & his lovely girlfriend Sarah. Liam updated me regularly with photos & messages (very spoiled sleeping on the sofa & Liams lap) as he knew I was a little anxious leaving her for the first time but Nala settled in very quickly & had a fantastic time with a lovely trip to Dunorlan Park. Nala is back tomorrow for a 10 day holiday and I know she will be very well cared for & have the best time! I have no hesitation in recommending Liam to pet sit your beloved dogs.”

“Julie and Darryl were great at stepping in at short notice to look after our little cockerpoo over night. We have recently moved to Kent so we were starting from scratch. Even though Rosie was only staying overnight Julie sent through lots of photos of Rosie having fun.”

“First time with Francesca and first time with a sitter through Rover. Albie is an elderly chap and so needed a lovely comfy home. He was so well looked after and clearly became part of the family very quickly. I was kept updated on progress and was sent lovely photos. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you to Francesca and Jamie!”

“This was the first time that our dog had stayed overnight with Sarah and we are so appreciative of the care taken. Sarah made sure Ziggy was comfortable with walks and cuddles. She also kept in touch with us to keep us up to date with photos, videos and news. It is such a relief to have found Sarah and we are booking again. Thanks, Sarah! Jane and Andrew J”

“Ziggy and George had a great week together! Thank you Jamie for looking after him so well. We were updated with pictures and messages throughout the week and they also helped out with medicine for Ziggy. Would not hesitate to use them again, always such a relief to find someone who cares for your pet just like their own. Thank you!”

About: We provide a safe, loving home-from-home for your dog with lots of space, care and attention. We have an 8-year-old friendly Cavapoo and a gentle 3-year-old son who absolutely loves dogs, so pets are a big part of our family life. We work from home seven days a week, meaning your dog will have plenty of company, attention and care throughout the day. Our home benefits from a large, fully enclosed garden and secure fenced paddock, giving dogs lots of space to run, play and explore safely. We’re also surrounded by beautiful countryside and vineyards, providing the perfect setting for long, enjoyable walks. We understand every dog is unique and are happy to follow their usual routine, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy and treated like one of the family. Pet care is part of our everyday routine. As we both work from home seven days a week, we’re able to provide plenty of attention, regular toilet breaks, daily walks, playtime and constant companionship throughout the day. Our own Cavapoo enjoys daily walks and time in our large, secure garden and fully fenced paddock, so visiting dogs naturally become part of our family routine and receive the same love, care and exercise. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing always come first. We carefully introduce dogs to our own friendly and loving Cavapoo, supervise all interactions, and only use our fully enclosed garden and secure fenced paddock for off-lead play. We’ll follow your instructions for feeding, medication, exercise and any individual needs, ensuring your dog’s routine is maintained. We also provide regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your dog is happy, safe and well cared for.
“Clara has been to stay with Keely twice now, I get photo updates at least once a day and feel confident that Clara is happy and well cared for when there. I will happily use Keely again to take care of Clara”

“Thaisa sent regular photos of Pepper and looked after her really well, welcoming her into her home. I felt very happy that Pepper was being well cared for while I was away and would definitely ask Thaisa to look after Pepper in the future.”

“I don’t have enough nice things to say about Jennifer and her family. They took such amazing care of my golden retriever, sent regular updates/photos and my pup absolutely loved being there, I could tell! I would highly recommend!”

“Katie is a delightful host, and I would highly recommend her as a Five Star dog sitter. ⭐️ Our dog Hugo was so happy and contented when I picked him up on Sunday; it was like he had found a home from home. 🐶”

About: I just love dogs, all shapes and sizes! I have lifelong experience with dogs of small/medium breeds. After recently losing my own beloved 3-legged rescue dog, I’m opening my home, (heart) and spacious garden to offer a safe, comfortable environment for dogs who need boarding. It's not the same without a smiley, welcome wag when you come home! I understand that every dog is unique, and I’m attentive, patient, and committed to making each stay relaxed and fun for your furry friend. I treat each dog as it were my own - lots of cuddles, toys & attention. They're part of my family. I work part‑time in my local area providing assistance to older and vulnerable people. It’s only around 10 hours a week, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m able to be home for most of the day. This allows me to give your pup plenty of attention and a calm, consistent routine. My home in Town Row, Rotherfield offers easy access to woodland paths, open countryside, and Millennium Green is great for safe, varied walks. On or off lead is at your discretion. My husband & I have a quiet household with no children or other pets, and our modern home includes a spacious, secure garden looking onto a meadow with plenty of outdoor space to watch the birds, squirrels & deer!
“Bailey was looked after so well whilst we were away. It was so nice getting regular photo updates, and we could see he really settled in very quickly and felt at home. He even got a bath and brush and came home smelling wonderful 🥰 Will definitely look to rebook Miriam when we are next away.”

About: I have owned dogs my entire life from German Shepards and Greyhounds as a child to labradors, long-haired Shepherds, Spaniels and rescue mixes as an adult. I love them in all shapes and sizes and am extremely experienced in their care. I also enjoy training dogs whether it's the very basics, brushing up on old tricks, or tackling something like dog agility! My father both bred Greyhounds and owned a Greyhound rescue, and he taught me a huge amount about dog behaviour and dog training as a young girl. I have trained my own dogs and those of others as a lifelong hobby and occasionally as a career. I have plenty of time to play and care for your dogs! I don't work at the moment so have a lot of flexibility in when I can be available. I am most flexible Monday - Wednesdays, but can find time on most days and when it comes to pet care I will always make it my priority! I have a fenced garden, access to a large fenced community garden, and am very close to lovely woodland walking routes which I have explored many times in the past with my own dogs and those belonging to others. I sadly lost my lab last year at the ripe old age of 15, so I don't currently have a pooch at home giving your pup the run of the house!

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Tunbridge Wells
This was our first time using Rover and leaving Winnie with a sitter overnight, so we were naturally a little nervous. From the moment we met, we felt completely at ease. Winnie was so well looked after, and it was lovely receiving updates while we were away. She came home happy, relaxed, and clearly had a great time. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her!

Rheid looked after my dog, Kiko, for the day and was absolutely brilliant. Rheid was friendly, reliable and clearly very caring. Kiko took a shine to her immediately. Kiko was happy, relaxed and well looked after. Receiving photos of their adventures gave me real peace of mind. I would happily recommend Rheid to anyone looking for kind and trustworthy dog care, and I’d definitely use her again.

I left my Golden Retriever with Lyn for three nights. Before the stay, I exchanged a few messages with her and she always replied promptly. We also had an initial meet-and-greet at her home, where she was very friendly and welcoming. During the stay, Lyn sent daily updates and photos, which I found very reassuring. Most importantly, my dog appeared happy, relaxed and well cared for throughout her stay, and was content when I collected her. I wouldn't hesitate to leave my dog with Lyn again and would happily recommend her to other owners looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Cecily was wonderful with Coby. He connected with her straight away. She is such a lovely person and so lovely for us to work with too. She was very attentive to Coby and kept us up to date. He had a great time with her running around the common in the sunshine! Thank you, Cecily!

Winnie had the most wonderful stay with Kim and Sandra — she was treated like a queen! We were recommended by another lovely Rover member, and wow, it did not disappoint. The whole experience was top-notch from start to finish. Communication was quick, efficient, and so warm. Winnie is quite a quiet dog, and Kim and Sandra’s calm, loving energy (and their peaceful home) suited her perfectly. I had absolutely no worries after drop-off — I knew she would be safe and well cared for and happy. I especially loved receiving the little updates of their adventures throughout the weekend 💖 I would wholeheartedly recommend these ladies to anyone looking for 5★ care for their pooch! Thank you 💕

Francesca looked after my little Pomeranian for 2 weeks while I was away and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to leave him with. She kept me updated with messages and photos the whole time, which made such a difference and put my mind at ease. It was really clear he was happy, relaxed and getting loads of love and attention. When I got back, he was calm, healthy and clearly had a great tim, I don’t think he even missed me that much 😂 Would 100% book with Francesca again and definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
