Wow!! How impressed are we???? I can’t thank Barbara and her husband enough for looking after our dog, we were so nervous to leave him with someone we didn’t know but he was well looked after, the pup updates were frequent and you could just see how well our pup was being cared for. We had a meet and greet prior to the booking where our minds were put at rest and now having had our pups stay I can’t recommend Barbara enough. When picked our pup up we asked if she would have our pup again and she said he would always be welcome. Thank you Barbara from the bottom of our hearts x

Megan looked after our puppy Mabel over night. It was the 1st time Mabel had been away from me so I was very nervous about leaving her, as she can be clingy. However, there was no need to worry! Megan looked after like she was one of her own! She kept me up dated with messages and pictures throughout Mabel’s stay! It looked like Mabel had a fab time! Thank you Megan! We will defo be using you again.

Our two mini dachshunds Cosmo and Max had a fabulous five nights with Zoe. They enjoyed a lovely home, and a secure back garden to wander around - and regular walks on the nearby Heath. We knew instantly they would be well cared for and it was clear from the amazing photos and kind messages (sent daily) that they bonded straightaway with Zoe and her partner. Zoe provided great updates, photos and communication. The photos were amazing and plentiful of their activities during the day and in the evening. Zoe really cared for our two fur babies and we would not hesitate in recommending her services.

We boarded Cody with Chelsea for a couple of days over New Yrs Eve. She went above and beyond and did so much to make sure our dog was comfortable and happy including stick to his training. We were updated with pictures and messages throughout his stay and from the pictures, we could tell he was happy and felt safe. This was the first time we have ever left Bear and Nicola treated him like her own and gave us regular updates, photos and videos. Bear was very happy and looked like he had a great week getting lots of nice walks and cuddles. We have already rebooked for our next trip and recommend her highly!

Throughout the stay, Lisa kept me updated and made sure Honey was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lisa to anyone, especially those with senior dogs who need a little extra care and compassion.

About: Having grown up surrounded by dogs, caring for them has always been a natural and joyful part of my life. They’ve never just been pets—they’re family. Anyone who knows me knows how much I truly adore dogs. I regularly look after dogs for friends and family, and I love every moment of it—from long walks and playtime to quiet cuddles. Your dog will be treated with the same care, attention, and affection I’ve always given my own. I work full-time during the week, with the flexibility of working from home twice a week. On those days, I’m able to provide plenty of attention, company, and regular toilet breaks throughout the day. I’m fully available on weekends, which means lots of time for longer walks, playtime, and cuddles. Your dog will always have a safe, loving, and attentive environment whether it’s a weekday or weekend Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I provide a calm, secure with an enclosed garden and loving environment where your furry friend will feel comfortable and cared for at all times. I take care to follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks, and any specific needs or preferences they may have. I’m attentive, responsible, and always keep a close eye on their wellbeing. Whether it’s keeping them safe on walks or making sure they feel settled at home, you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in caring and capable hands.

About: I have loved cats and dogs since I was a child but only when settled in my own home after university did I feel settled enough to start to care for my own cats and dogs. Now I have the time to care for other pets and make them part of our family while they are here. I have a 4 year old Lab Retriever and two cats who both know how to live with dogs. Now that I have retired I have all the time in the world to devote to looking after my pets and yours. Your dog can become part of our family and share in all the care and attention I have a medium sized fully fenced in garden and plenty of room for the pets to find a quiet space if they need it or they are welcome to jump on the sofa for a cuddle.

About: We offer a chilled home, with lots of playing space with our darling little cavapoo to entertain your doggy whilst they stay with us. We have a small enclosed court yard for their quick loo times, but we also have great woodland walks and parks round the corner to keep them exercised and happy! We have a window seat for them to watch our busy close to keep them occupied whilst they chill. Lots of neighbourhood cats to keep their eyes on! We give loads of cuddles and treats and want them to feel right at home. So this part isn't about doggies, but I looked after 21 rabbits from a young age, cleaning out several cages EVERY day for years and years! So I’m very hands on, and happy to look after your fur baby whilst I work from home :) I work from home part time, and do volunteer work the other days so I am in and out some days but can be super flexible according to your doggies needs! You tell me your routine and I will work my best to keep it similar to yours so they are at ease and happy staying with us :) I can take them on a few short walks, or on a long walk, which ever is best. We have a small inclosed gravelled garden. The fur babies can have the whole house, but if the door bell goes I can just close the lounge door to keep them safe. Our baby is a smallish cavapoo who as already said loves other dogs, loves playing, but also happy to sleep as much as possible if your dog is super chill or super excited he will just match their energy!

Lisa was brilliant from the get go. Iv never left any of my dogs with anyone before especially someone I dont know so I was understandably a bit nervous about doing so! Our puppy being only 18 weeks old too! But lisa came highly recommended, glad i gave her a chance because she was great! Communicated and kept us up to date everyday with messages and photos, and she followed our boys routine with ease. He was more than happy around both lisa and her partner upon picking him back up so he obviously enjoyed his week with them too 🥰 glad to have found such a lovely lady that I know will take care of my boy as if he was her own. Will 100% be using her again ❤️

Our huskita Ace stayed with Mark for over a week while we were away and I’ve got to say how amazing Mark was at taking care of Ace. The love, time and care that went into making him feel comfortable and at home, we couldn’t have asked for more while we were away. Mark sent us regular updates of Ace, photos and videos, he also asked how Ace likes things and his schedule so he could cater to Aces needs the way we would. 100% would recommend and will definitely be using Mark again as he generally cares for the animals he looks after as if they are his own.

FAQs for Boarding - Maidstone

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Maidstone on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,421 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Maidstone. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
