“Frank was well looked after and treated like a member of the family His needs were met (and then some! BBQ'd steak?! Lucky boy) I was obviously worried about leaving him but Charlie and his family did a great job, kept me updated with pics and messages and I wouldn't hesitate in using them again”

“Thank you so much Lorna, we felt so comfortable leaving Clemmie with you. Lorna was great for Clem’s sit, we did a meet and greet walk beforehand and we instantly knew Clem would be in good hands. Clem needed to see the vet during her stay and Lorna took her for us and cared for her so attentively. We will 100% book again. Thanks for all the photos and Clemmie’s presents, we are very lucky we found you!”

About: I have had pets all throughout my life growing up. I have owned dogs for over 19 years and am used to looking after pets - mainly dogs, but also chickens, horses and cats. I currently work part-time and in a role where I can be mainly based at home. I live in an old house surrounded by lovely gardens and three acres of fields. I am close to many country walks and St Mary’s Bay beach is only 10 minutes drive from me. All dogs, like us humans, are different. Some prefer to be left in peace and quiet and others like company, some are very energetic and others are less so. How I care for your dog is entirely dependent on their preferences. And I have enough space in my home for them to roam quite freely and the great outdoors with fenced fields are merely seconds from our back door. I have enough space in my home to have 3 extra dogs with their own room.

I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting on weekdays and weekends with advance notice. I understand the importance of consistency for pets and will make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, meals, and lots of care while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, walks, and routines. I will always keep pets on a lead unless instructed otherwise in a safe, enclosed area. I’ll provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for at all times.

I found Iva at the last minute before needing to go away. At the meet and greet the house was very clean and tidy. Iva is friendly, reliable and clearly someone who genuinely loves dogs. Luca stayed 1 night with Georgette as a trial as he's quite a nervous rescue dog. She did a wonderful job getting him settled in and comfortable and even managed to get him outside for a walk. He was very relaxed when we came to pick him up. Would definitely recommend.

When I made the booking, I was not sure whether my request would be accepted, as Gaia had never spent time indoors with cats or children before. However, she had never shown any aggression towards them outside, and Daisy kindly agreed to look after her. Fortunately, Gaia got on very well with the younger and smaller members of the family. Daisy and her husband took lovely care of her during her stay and sent me some photos of Gaia relaxing with them on the sofa. She certainly looked as though she felt at home. I would happily recommend Daisy’s dog-sitting services :)

Thank you for looking after Yasuke on such a short notice. Great communication, attentive care and flexibility with our schedules. Yasuke was treated so well as he gets nervous esp boarding somewhere new for the first time but Ka-Tung provided special care and made it a smooth experience for him. Thank you and highly recommend.

This is the first time we have used a dog sitter for our 4yo cocker spaniel. Dotty hasn’t been left with anyone other than family before so I was unsure how she would take to it. With regular photos and updates from Pauline and seeing how happy Dotty was, we were easily reassured. Dotty loves cuddles and attention and it is clear that this need was not left unmet. Highly recommended Pauline, we will definitely be using her again whenever we go away

Jessie is very professional and a calming presence. After an initial meet and greet with Jessie and her dog Dora, Jimmy happily returned, and spent 3 days with them. It seemed he happily settled in, and there were photo and video updates to reassure us. He jumped in some dirty water, and was even bathed and clean for us when we came to collect him. I'd definitely use Jessie again. Thanks Jessie!

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
