“Bimba had a lovely stay with Lucinda, she was very well looked after and seemed very happy in the photos - especially the walks in local area. Great communication, I would book again without hesitation, highly recommend.”

“Hi. Yes Angel always has a fantastic time with Peter. His understanding of dogs is exceptional. Angel is a very happy dog and wants to get involved in whatever exercise loves being outside and her walkies. We are so grateful we have Peter. Well done. Excellent. From Valerie and Bob.”

“Sophie kept me updated and sent regular pictures of Pixie. She let me facilitate the booking, rather than sending the request herself which felt a lot less pushy than some. I would recommend Sophie, I felt reassured during Pixie's stay that she was in safe hands. I liked that Pixie was included in visits to friends, cafes and pubs and was treated as part of the family. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.”

“Bodie had a fabulous time with Lisa Jake & Huxley. Lots of good walks, often with other dogs, which she loves. I got regular "Pup-dates" showing a totally carefree dog. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone wanting peace of mind when leaving their pet.”

“This was the first time I’ve ever used this service for my 3 month old puppy! But all the way through Katrina was prompt to respond and I had lots of photos and updates throughout, making me feel very happy and confident my puppy was happy! I couldn’t have been happier with this experience and will def use Katrina and her sister again. Very friendly and professional with all that they did with my pup! Highly recommend.”

“Dean and family are brilliant with Hollie… who has been to stay on numerous occasions with them. This time she arrived with some medication from the vets, and Dean was so accommodating, and it was reassuring to know we could go on our holidays knowing Hollie was in such good care. Thank you 😊”

“Wonderful! Jelena was so accommodating with drop-off/collection times, really helpful. Bodhi had a lovely time, Jelena kept me updated and looked after her so well. Throughly recommend.”

“Ziggy spent a few nights with Meghan and knowing he was so well taken care of really helped me relax on my holiday. Meghan sent photos, videos and updates on how he was doing in the heatwave. He got on really well with her dog and will definitely be back to visit again. Thoroughly recommend Meghan to anyone anxious about leaving their beloved pet with her. 🥰”

“Honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with Albus! Marie is so kind and amazing with him, we always get photo updates of what he’s been up to each day and it makes us feel so happy knowing he’s so well cared for while we’re away. 5 stars always!”

“Lizzy and her family are lovely and welcoming Lola had a great stay, was extremely well look after. I highly recommend Lizzy and her family for anyone that is in need of dog care. I will only ever go to lizzy in for future dog care. Thank you x”

“Sangeeta is great! Very kind, responsive, and welcoming. We had a meet and greet before booking the stay, which was lovely since the pups were familiar with her and her house when it came time for their vacation. We received lots of pictures and videos and could tell our babies were well taken care of while we are gone. Would definitely book again.”

“I can not praise Hepzibah enough. She looked after our 2 boys brilliantly while me and my now husband got married. We were constantly kept updated with photos of the boys. She collected them and dropped them to use for ease on our wedding day. 100% will be booking again.”
“I had such a wonderful experience with Natalia as my dog sitter for my puppy, Latte! She suggested we meet beforehand so she and Latte could get to know each other, and I really appreciated that extra step. From the moment we arrived, Latte absolutely loved her—he was running around, playing, and giving her so much affection. We spent nearly an hour at her home, and I could already tell she had such a gentle, loving nature with him. Natalia did overnight boarding for Latte on short notice during a bank holiday, and I couldn’t have asked for better care. When I picked him up, he was clean, happy, and clearly well looked after. She walked him multiple times throughout the day, which was perfect for my inquisitive little pup, and she sent me regular updates and photos without me even needing to ask. Natalia is truly lovely, and I’m so happy to say I’ll definitely be using her again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and attentive dog sitter!”

“Katie and her partner did an amazing job of taking care of our puppy. It was his first time away from home and he loved staying with them. We received photo updates and timely communication. Thank you so much.”

“We will definitely use Yevgeniia again. She sent a photo shortly after we dropped Jimmy off and he was relaxed and snoozing. She sent photo updates throughout Jimmy’s stay and answered any questions about arrangements quickly. Her dog is a placid gentle soul and he and Jimmy got along well.”

“James and Heather were fantastic! Grace loved them and loved her stay there. They sent me updates, photos and videos and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve seen Grace so happy with a border. I highly recommend them (although I didn’t want to as I want to keep them all for myself!) 🤣”

Absolutely fantastic! This was the first time we have ever left our crazy boy but i was put at ease from the first meet. Jelena kept me updated throughout his stay and was very accommodating. Horatio absolutely loved his stay. I would absolutely recommend and use Jelena again. Thank you so much!
Our dog Molly had a wonderful 10 days with Nicola and her family. Nicola is warm, caring and very communicative, providing us with regular updates and photos. Nicola and her family clearly love dogs and provide a warm and welcoming environment. We will absolutely be asking her to care for Molly again!

Hannah and her boys are amazing with our little Dachshund Whiskey. He loves staying with them and is incredibly well looked after, he gets all the cuddles and attention. We always feel comfortable leaving Whiskey with Hannah and never have any concerns. Hannah keeps us well updated and sends loads of photos, could not highly recommend her enough!

We were so lucky to find Evie and can highly recommend her.Evie was very flexible when our timings kept changing and was cheerfully accommodating. Rufus thoroughly enjoyed his stay with her and would happily return again. Thank you so much Evie you are a treasure 💕🐕xx
We had a fantastic experience with Kayleigh and would highly recommend her. Before we even booked, she took time out of her day to answer questions so we could see if we were a good fit. I was really anxious about leaving our pups but Kayleigh was just so kind & thoughtful. We could tell she really knew and understood dog behaviours and what they would need. During the stay, we got regular updates and tons of gorgeous photos, which showed the amount of care and attention that had gone into not just our pups visit, but to reassure us too. We will definitely be using Kayleigh again, from the photos we could see our pups were settled and chilled which is worth its weight in gold!

Excellent service from Hollie who took the time and trouble to walk Teddy late in the evening during the recent VERY HOT weekend. Hollie made Teddy feel at home and made sure he had a cool spot in the house. We received regular updates and photos. Teddy was very relaxed, happy and comfortable. I would certainly recommend Hollie and will most definitely book again.

Valeriia is hands down the best sitter we've ever had on Rover. She looked after our two dogs, Fendi and Choo, for nearly a month while we were abroad, and we genuinely couldn't have asked for better care. She treated them like her own babies from day one. Throughout the whole stay she kept us constantly updated with a steady stream of photos and messages, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. You could see from every picture how happy and comfortable they were with her. When we got back, both dogs were relaxed, happy and clearly had the best time. That says everything about the love and attention she gave them. We can't recommend Valeriia highly enough and we'll absolutely be booking her again. If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your dogs like family, she's the one. Thank you, Valeriia!
I can’t praise enough how amazing and wonderful Marie is with our amazing little man Marlow. Marie is every dog owners dream and when you drive away when dropping him off and he doesn’t look back then you know he’s happy. Marie has looked after Marlow for four years and we have actually cancelled holidays if Marie is not available. Thats says it all Thank you Marie

Sangeeta is great! Very kind, responsive, and welcoming. We had a meet and greet before booking the stay, which was lovely since the pups were familiar with her and her house when it came time for their vacation. Yet again, another wonderful stay with Monica and her family. From the moment Ottie approaches Monica's house her tail is wagging and she can't wait to get in and see everyone again. Monica is brilliant. Ottie has fun with games, children to play with and love and attention. We have been so very lucky to find such a fantastic person to take care of Ottie. Obviously, we HIGHLY recommend Monica

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
