“Cannot recommend Lucinda enough !! I was worried leaving my dog with a sitter for the first time however Lucinda made me feel completely at ease. Cooper came home happy and I was given updates throughout his stay…”

“I couldn't ask for anyone better than WJ to look after Enzo. She was so attentive for all his needs. Gave regular updates on how he was doing and always asked if she needed to know anything about him. Enzo will definitely be looking forward to his next stay which is already booked! Thank you again :)”

“Elisa is a superb dog carer. She and her family gave our mischievous Beagle a wonderful home from home when we used her dog boarding services recently. Her warm and caring family home was just what our Beagle needed; lots of attention, walks and cuddles from her loving family. Also the regular pics and messages she sent us gave us complete confidence and reassurance that our Beagle was very happy there. We will definitely be calling on Elisa's services again! Thankyou Elisa & family!”

“Sophie is a lovely young lady and she was confident around my dog from the moment she met him. I've not used online services such as Rover before so I was a little trepudatious as to whether I had made the right decision but felt as Sophie was local to where I was staying, I would be able to extricate Merlot should I find this kind of service wasn't right for him. I need not have worried, from the start I had reassuring messages from Sophie and my confidence grew in her. From the moment I met Sophie she welcomed Merlot with an open door and arms, she was very keen to listen to all I had to say about Merlot and literally opened her home to him. Her home is clean and inviting and she allowed Merlot the opportunity to check out his environment with no words of caution and no restrictions, which assured me he was going to have a home from home experience and that Sophie was ready to give him the love and care he deserved while in her charge. I had no doubt I could put my trust in Sophie. We experienced difficulty communicating due to the centre of Canterbury having the lousiest WiFi and text connections (I was aware of this years ago and it hasn't really improved) and Sophie was very patient, letting me know she'd not received replies from me. All in all I was reassured Merlot was being well looked after and this enabled me to enjoy and immerse myself in my weekend of singing workshop. On my way home I stopped off to walk Merlot and spoke to a fellow dog owner and gave recommendations for Sophie and Rover's services. I will recommend to family and friends throughout the UK and I would like to thank Sophie so much for enabling me to have such an amazing weekend xxx”

“Jelena was absolutely marvelous!! She has a natural affinity with dogs and Lola had a lovely stay. She had lots of exercise and was very well looked after. Every day we received pictures of our happy girl having a wonderful time. Thanks again Jelena and see you next time!”

“Lizzie and her lovely family are everything you could hope for - kind, experienced, confident and also ready to follow normal routine. Our dog was instantly at ease and it was a stress free experience as we knew Tessa was safe, happy and well looked after. Great communication and lovely to get photos and updates too. I would recommend Lizzie without hesitation and will go back whenever we need a dog sitter.”

About: I've always loved dogs and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I provide a safe, caring, and reliable service, treating every dog as if they were my own. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds, including energetic puppies and older dogs that need a slower pace and extra patience. I'm happy to stick to your dog's normal routine, including feeding schedules, administering oral medication if required, regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention and affection. Being active means I can provide long walks and engaging exercise for high-energy dogs, while also understanding when a quieter, gentler approach is needed for senior pets. I'm reliable, punctual, and know how important communication is, so I'll keep you updated with messages and photos while you're away for complete peace of mind. My priority is making sure your dog feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for, so you can relax knowing they're in safe hands. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I enjoy being active and make time every day for walks, outdoor exercise, and spending time with dogs. This means I can provide regular walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I understand how important it is to keep pets on their usual routine, so I'm happy to follow your dog's normal schedule, whether that's early morning walks, medication, meal times, or evening cuddles. I have a flexible schedule and always make sure the pets in my care receive the time, attention, and affection they deserve. For me, looking after dogs isn't just a job—it's something I genuinely enjoy, and I treat every dog as if they were part of my own family. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, my priority is making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while keeping to their normal routine. I take the time to get to know each dog's personality, feeding schedule, walking routine, and any special requirements before their stay. I provide plenty of exercise, playtime, mental stimulation, and, of course, lots of affection. Fresh water is always available, and I make sure pets have a clean, comfortable place to rest. If I'm caring for your dog in your home, I'll respect your property as if it were my own while maintaining your pet's usual routine to help them feel settled. I'm also happy to administer oral medication if needed, provide regular toilet breaks, and send photo and message updates so you know your pet is happy and well looked after. I understand how much pets mean to their families, so I treat every dog with the same care, patience, and attention I'd give my own.

“Sarah was brilliant with our cockapoo, plenty of photos and videos letting us know how he was doing and accommodating to his dietary requirements etc. Will 100% recommend and use again ⭐️”

“Lisa is amazing with my dog. As soon as my dog sees her ‘going away’ bag, she waits by the door waiting for Lisa to take her on her adventures! Lisa supplies great updates when we’re away so we know all is good. So happy to have found her for our fur baby.”

“Katrina provided a fabulous mini holiday for my dog Flo. She obviously loves dogs and was very caring both to Flo and myself. She sent me regular updates during Flo's stay and was very keen to know what Flo needed and her routine etc. making me feel secure in the knowledge that she was being taking care of. She is a lovely person and I would highly recommend her to look after any dog.”

“We will definitely use Yevgeniia again. She sent a photo shortly after we dropped Jimmy off and he was relaxed and snoozing. She sent photo updates throughout Jimmy’s stay and answered any questions about arrangements quickly. Her dog is a placid gentle soul and he and Jimmy got along well.”

About: My name is Jeannie and I live in Whitstable. I am a reliable and caring dog sitter who takes great pride in providing attentive, loving care for every dog I look after. I always make sure to keep owners updated with regular photos and messages, so they can feel completely at ease while they’re away. I focus on making each dog feel comfortable, happy, and at home, treating them as if they were my own. I am friendly, dependable, and genuinely passionate about animal care, ensuring every pup gets the attention and affection they need. My goal is always to return dogs to their owners relaxed, content, and well cared for, and to provide a trustworthy service that people feel confident booking again and again. I have a 1 year old dachshund called Milo who is great company. I am fully available to care for your pet during the week and weekends. I am here for day time or I can provide board for holidays. I have a fenced garden and a secure home. I am happy to walk your dog on a lead too and drop in to pet sit.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have had a cat throughout my life, so animals have always been a bit part of my life. My grandparents also used to regularly dog-sit, which meant that I grew up around lots of different dogs and loved caring for them. I’m a genuine animal lover and would treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m responsible, patient and attentive, and would love the opportunity to care for your pets. I’ve recently completed my BSc in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, so I currently have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your pets. My degree has developed my responsibility, attention to detail, and understanding of health and wellbeing, all of which I feel are valuable when caring for animals. I’m available throughout the week and at the weekends and am happy to work around your pets usual routine. I have a secure, fenced garden and a friendly cat at home, and am used to having animals around. I’ll always take the time to understand your pets individual routine, personality, and will follow any instructions you provide carefully. Your pets safety and wellbeing will always be my priority, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, care and affection while they’re with me.

“Ziggy spent a few nights with Meghan and knowing he was so well taken care of really helped me relax on my holiday. Meghan sent photos, videos and updates on how he was doing in the heatwave. He got on really well with her dog and will definitely be back to visit again. Thoroughly recommend Meghan to anyone anxious about leaving their beloved pet with her. 🥰”

About: Hi, I’m Michelle — a warm, friendly animal lover based in Canterbury. I live with my German Shorthaired Pointer, Otis, and two cats, Brownie and Peanut, so I’m very used to a busy, happy home with different personalities and energy levels. I’m new to offering dog care through Rover, but I bring years of real‑life experience as a dedicated pet owner. Living with both a high‑energy dog and calm, independent cats has taught me how to create a relaxed, safe environment where animals feel comfortable and understood. My approach is gentle, reliable, and calm. I’m easy to communicate with, and I’ll always make sure you feel updated and reassured while your dog is with me. I currently have plenty of flexibility in my week, which means I can offer reliable support for your pets. I’m available for walks, drop‑ins, and spending quality time with your animals. I live with my GSP and two cats, so I’m used to supporting pets with different needs and personalities. We have a safe, fully walled garden where dogs can relax and explore securely. I’m happy to separate animals when needed, and I can crate dogs safely and kindly — Otis used to be crated, so I’m very familiar with this. I follow your instructions closely and make sure your pets feel comfortable, secure, and well looked after. I enjoy taking dogs on both long, scenic walks and shorter, interesting routes depending on what suits them best.

Hannah and her boys are amazing with our little Dachshund Whiskey. He loves staying with them and is incredibly well looked after, he gets all the cuddles and attention. We always feel comfortable leaving Whiskey with Hannah and never have any concerns. Hannah keeps us well updated and sends loads of photos, could not highly recommend her enough!

We were so lucky to find Evie and can highly recommend her.Evie was very flexible when our timings kept changing and was cheerfully accommodating. Rufus thoroughly enjoyed his stay with her and would happily return again. Thank you so much Evie you are a treasure 💕🐕xx
We had a fantastic experience with Kayleigh and would highly recommend her. Before we even booked, she took time out of her day to answer questions so we could see if we were a good fit. I was really anxious about leaving our pups but Kayleigh was just so kind & thoughtful. We could tell she really knew and understood dog behaviours and what they would need. During the stay, we got regular updates and tons of gorgeous photos, which showed the amount of care and attention that had gone into not just our pups visit, but to reassure us too. We will definitely be using Kayleigh again, from the photos we could see our pups were settled and chilled which is worth its weight in gold!

Excellent service from Hollie who took the time and trouble to walk Teddy late in the evening during the recent VERY HOT weekend. Hollie made Teddy feel at home and made sure he had a cool spot in the house. We received regular updates and photos. Teddy was very relaxed, happy and comfortable. I would certainly recommend Hollie and will most definitely book again.

Valeriia is hands down the best sitter we've ever had on Rover. She looked after our two dogs, Fendi and Choo, for nearly a month while we were abroad, and we genuinely couldn't have asked for better care. She treated them like her own babies from day one. Throughout the whole stay she kept us constantly updated with a steady stream of photos and messages, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. You could see from every picture how happy and comfortable they were with her. When we got back, both dogs were relaxed, happy and clearly had the best time. That says everything about the love and attention she gave them. We can't recommend Valeriia highly enough and we'll absolutely be booking her again. If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your dogs like family, she's the one. Thank you, Valeriia!
I can’t praise enough how amazing and wonderful Marie is with our amazing little man Marlow. Marie is every dog owners dream and when you drive away when dropping him off and he doesn’t look back then you know he’s happy. Marie has looked after Marlow for four years and we have actually cancelled holidays if Marie is not available. Thats says it all Thank you Marie

Sangeeta is great! Very kind, responsive, and welcoming. We had a meet and greet before booking the stay, which was lovely since the pups were familiar with her and her house when it came time for their vacation. We received lots of pictures and videos and could tell our babies were well taken care of while we are gone. Would definitely book again.

Yet again, another wonderful stay with Monica and her family. From the moment Ottie approaches Monica's house her tail is wagging and she can't wait to get in and see everyone again. Monica is brilliant. Ottie has fun with games, children to play with and love and attention. We have been so very lucky to find such a fantastic person to take care of Ottie. Obviously, we HIGHLY recommend Monica

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
