About: I’ve grown up with working spaniels and currently have a 2yo cocker, so I’m comfortable with even the most crazy and demanding dogs. I care about meeting breed-specific needs and investing quality time in games that they naturally love. Happy to practice any training you might be working on and I’m understanding of the unique quirks they all seem to have. I will always try to make walks fun and engaging, but my house is a quiet and comfortable environment to relax in - just me and my own dog. There is a fully enclosed garden to run around in and I have a dog-safe car for trips out or emergencies. I work from home 4 days a week (sometimes all week) so have time and flexibility to engage with my dog. A typical day starts with a fun activity walk to engage the brain, followed by plenty of naps and a bit of training/play during the day, then a calm evening on the sofa. My house is dog proof and dog friendly. It’s clean and cosy, but big enough for a bit of space for alone time if needed and I have a fully secure garden with plenty of room to run around, sniff and play games. The road is quiet so very few strange noises to bark at. My dog sleeps overnight in a crate, but he is allowed to chill on the sofa if invited and sometimes on the bed if he’s been good. Treats are always nearby for good behaviour.

About: I have had a dog of my own for 12 years and I have experience in all stages of a dogs life. I have undergone puppy training as well with my own dog. I have plenty of spare time to spend with your dogs and give them the care they need. I can offer boarding, day care, drop in visits and dog walking 7 days a week. I have a dog friendly house and garden. Fenced and secure. I have stair gates to prevent dogs from going upstairs and a gated front garden. I also have ramps to help get out into the garden.

About: I will look after your pets like they're my own! I have had cats and dogs from a young age and I am experienced in looking after them and each of their unique quirks and how they mix together. Of course all animals are different so I will work with you to look after and care for your fur babies and their individual needs exactly how you would want them to be cared for. I work full time Monday to Friday and on average I work from home 2 days a week over the month. Which days I choose to work from home are completely flexible. So have plenty of wiggle room for caring for you pets at home (either mine or yours) for drop ins/walkies. My weekends are my own so I am pretty available and flexible. I have my own cats so for dog sitting in my own home they would need to be non-aggressive towards cats. I have a lovely garden that is fenced at the back (backs onto an alleyway) and low walls to neighbouring gardens.

About: Calm, home-from-home dog boarding by the beach 🐾 I offer a relaxed, loving environment where your dog will be treated like part of the family. Living right by the beach means plenty of fresh air, walks, and a calm routine — it’s like a little holiday for them while you’re away. I keep things small and personal, usually caring for just one dog at a time. This allows me to give your dog plenty of attention, consistency, and a stress-free environment, which works especially well for more sensitive or excitable dogs. I’m experienced with a range of temperaments, including puppies and high-energy dogs, and I’m confident following your routines — whether that’s feeding, training, or medication. Owners often say they feel completely at ease knowing their dog is in safe hands, and I always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax while you’re away. I work part-time, so I have lots of flexibility for walks, playtime, and company throughout the day. I’m active and out walking daily, making sure your dog gets a good balance of exercise and downtime. I’m always happy to accommodate your dog’s usual routine and sleeping arrangements to help them settle in comfortably. I'm currently working part time so I've got lots of time to walk/ play with your pup. I'm very active and walk/run daily. I can be available most weekends also and daytimes too. I don't have a crate at home but we're happy to have your pet sleep in the living room (on the couch if prerable). Happy to accommodate any need

I have a flexible schedule and can provide reliable care throughout the week and weekends, I am home all week and would only need to pop out for school run 3x a week 😃 I understand that pets thrive on routine, so I’ll do my best to maintain their usual feeding, walking and play schedules. Your pet will receive plenty of attention, care and regular updates while they’re with me! Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities, I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality and any special requirements before accepting a booking. About: For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of looking after my Pomeranian baby, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the moment I brought him home, I made sure to provide him with a loving, safe, and stimulating environment. I prioritize his health by keeping up with regular vet check-ups, a balanced diet, and plenty of exercise to keep him active and happy. I also pay close attention to his grooming needs—brushing his fluffy coat regularly to prevent matting and keeping his paws clean and trimmed. Every day, we share moments of joy, whether it’s a playful romp in the yard, snuggles on the couch, or teaching him new tricks. Beyond the daily care, it’s the bond we share that truly means the most. I love how his little personality shines through, how he greets me with excitement every time I walk through the door, and how we’ve grown so connected over the years. Hi is not just a pet; he is family, and my heart fills with love every time I look at him. Hi There! I work mostly online at home so I will be happy to look after small ones. I have my own car so I easy can come any time needed! Looking forward hear from you! Caring for pets in a pet owner’s home, safety, trust, and the environment are always my top priorities. Here’s how I ensure that: Safety: I create a pet-proof environment, making sure that all potential hazards—sharp objects, toxic plants, or small items that could be swallowed—are removed. I also ensure that pets are supervised, especially during playtime or outdoor activities. Trust: Building trust with both pets and owners is essential. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine, and preferences, ensuring they feel comfortable and safe in their surroundings. Regular updates, photos, and videos help owners stay connected and assured that their pet is in good hands. Environment: I provide a calm, loving, and enriching environment. This includes a quiet space for rest, age-appropriate toys for mental stimulation, and a consistent daily schedule for feeding, walks, and bathroom breaks. Ultimately, I aim to give pets the same care and attention as I would my own, making sure they feel loved and cared for in a secure and trusting environment.

Faith was absolutely brilliant as a dog sitter. My two dogs loved her from the moment they met her, which immediately gave me peace of mind. She was incredibly helpful and flexible throughout, and really went out of her way to accommodate us, even taking the dogs at very short notice. That last-minute support made a huge difference and was genuinely appreciated. Everything was handled smoothly and responsibly, and I wouldn’t hesitate to ask her again or recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Tina recently looked after my mum’s dog George for 2 weeks . She wanted to meet George prior to his stay which was a big help as he then felt less anxious when she picked him up to take him to her home. She asked about his likes and dislikes etc . When I collected him after his stay he looked very happy around Tina and she said he’d been really good and had got on very well with her dogs. Being an elderly dog she allowed him to sleep on the floor by the side of her bed and he slept all night.Tina is a lovely kind lady who clearly loves dogs. I would definitely recommend Tina and would 100% let her look after George again . I’m just so glad I chose her 😃

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Thanet

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Thanet on Rover is £43.7 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 363 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Thanet. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
