“Faith was an utterly fantastic dog sitter! She kept me up to date the whole time with pictures and videos and looked after my little doggy like he was her own! I couldn’t be happier and will most definitely, without a doubt be coming back! You’ll be in the safest hands with Faith!”

“We have had several sitters from Rover and have been very pleased with them all. This was a fairly last minute request to board our pup Ziggy for 4 days. So lucky to find Jamie and Cara. 100% + recommendation on every aspect from prompt booking communications, arrangement to have an initial meet and greet walk together with them and their lovely friendly dog Jarvis; thorough prep arrangements for Ziggys stay; great and frequent photos and messages, all very reassuring for us. Most important of all our dog Ziggy had a wonderful time as part of their family, he was happy and relaxed and came home content. Do not hesitate to book with Jamie, perfect Rover hosts. Thanks so much Jamie and Cara.”

“As with previous visits, a positive experience for Mia who really enjoyed her visit. When we pulled up outside, Mia ran into the house with tail wagging. Enough said.”

“Wanling took great care of my coco over the weekend. She sent me lovely picture updates and it was nice to know coco had a dog buddy to play with. I’ll be booking again!”

“We have used Becky twice now for overnight stays for our elderly dog. We feel really comfortable that she is being well looked after, and she returns home calm and relaxed. We would definitely recommend Becky.”

“Caterina is a very lovely and kind person. I felt straight away very comfortable leaving our dog Lexy with her. Her little pug is adorable and gave Lexy confidence whilst staying with them. Thanks again for looking after Lexy, she had the best time with you guys 💛”

I have plenty of spare time to spend with your dogs and give them the care they need. I can offer boarding, day care, drop in visits and dog walking 7 days a week. “This is the 3rd time Amanda has looked after Austen and for the longest time so far - 7 days. She is wonderful with him and he seems very happy to be with her. As well as keeping him in his general routine with some adaptions for the heat, she also kept up with his training. This is important for Austen as he is a cockerpoo and very boisterous. She also gave us some really good tips to help with his thieving which is paying dividends. Amanda was really good at communicating with us and was very flexible about the pick up time as our flight home was delayed a couple of times and we were a bit worried. She reassured us that she would be able to watch him until the next morning. In the end we got back that evening. We will have no hesitation asking Amanda to look after Austen again and in recommending her to others.”

About: I’ve had cats in my family all my life. I’ve had kittens to seniors. Dogs have also been included, looking after family and friends dogs when in need. I work full time from home in a role that gives me flexibility. I’m able to manage my own diary to accommodate other aspects of life. I have a garden that’s grassed, secure with a good sized fenced and safe. Two cats that are comfortable with other dogs that are comfortable with cats
About: I will look after your pets like they're my own! I have had cats and dogs from a young age and I am experienced in looking after them and each of their unique quirks and how they mix together. Of course all animals are different so I will work with you to look after and care for your fur babies and their individual needs exactly how you would want them to be cared for. I work full time Monday to Friday and on average I work from home 2 days a week over the month. Which days I choose to work from home are completely flexible. So have plenty of wiggle room for caring for you pets at home (either mine or yours) for drop ins/walkies. My weekends are my own so I am pretty available and flexible. I have my own cats so for dog sitting in my own home they would need to be non-aggressive towards cats. I have a lovely garden that is fenced at the back (backs onto an alleyway) and low walls to neighbouring gardens.
“This was our first time leaving our 6 month pup and we were feeling very anxious, but Fern and her partner were incredible. From our first meet-and-great they were friendly, communicative and reassuring. They have a beautiful home well set up for dogs and Robin had a wonderful time. Every update he looked relaxed and well loved, and we’ve come home to a very happy boy! We’d highly recommend and we’ll definitely be booking Fern again for future trips. Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for many years as I grew up on a farm. I grew up with puppies and dogs and know how to look after them. I’ve had experience working with dogs in a groomers and know how to handle them properly. About: Calm, home-from-home dog boarding by the beach 🐾 I offer a relaxed, loving environment where your dog will be treated like part of the family. Living right by the beach means plenty of fresh air, walks, and a calm routine — it’s like a little holiday for them while you’re away. I keep things small and personal, usually caring for just one dog at a time. This allows me to give your dog plenty of attention, consistency, and a stress-free environment, which works especially well for more sensitive or excitable dogs. I’m experienced with a range of temperaments, including puppies and high-energy dogs, and I’m confident following your routines — whether that’s feeding, training, or medication. Owners often say they feel completely at ease knowing their dog is in safe hands, and I always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax while you’re away. I work part-time, so I have lots of flexibility for walks, playtime, and company throughout the day. I’m active and out walking daily, making sure your dog gets a good balance of exercise and downtime. I’m always happy to accommodate your dog’s usual routine and sleeping arrangements to help them settle in comfortably. I'm currently working part time so I've got lots of time to walk/ play with your pup. I'm very active and walk/run daily. I can be available most weekends also and daytimes too. I don't have a crate at home but we're happy to have your pet sleep in the living room (on the couch if prerable). Happy to accommodate any need

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Thanet
this was the first time I had left my dog Wicket with anyone other than my son, I was incredibly pleased with the way Faith looked after him. She sent me regular updates and pictures. He was so happy and well cared for. Faith did everything I had asked her to do with him. She certainly seems to know how to care for her little visitors. Her own little dog is very fiendly and Wicket toook to her almost immediately. I would not hesitate to use her services again.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience from Jamie and his partner! They kept us updated with loads of photos and videos and it genuinely looked like he was having the best time! They took him out to lots of different places with their own dog (cocker spaniel), so it wasn’t just a case of sitting at home all day - he was out exploring, getting plenty of walks and attention, and looked so happy and cared for. They’re a lovely young couple and it’s obvious they really care about the dogs they look after. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you both for taking such amazing care of Buddy - he'll miss you!

Annie looked after our dog, Huxley for 2 nights. She's an absolutely lovely person and Hux felt right at home straight away. Fantastic communication and she kept us updated with vids and pics around the home and out on fab looking walks. We could see he was really happy and settled. He wanted her to come with us when we picked him up which was really cute. We'd definitely use Annie again and can heartily recommend her. Thanks Annie!

Fern is amazing!! Winston clearly loved spending time with her: long walks, cuddles and treats. What more could he want 🥰 Thank you for being so kind for collecting and delivery him, as that made a busy weekend so much easier. Really appreciate how thoughtful you are about him, I know I send a lot of information and you made me feel so much less anxious with all the beautiful photos! Thank you again xx

Caterina is a very lovely and kind person. I felt straight away very comfortable leaving our dog Lexy with her. Her little pug is adorable and gave Lexy confidence whilst staying with them. Thanks again for looking after Lexy, she had the best time with you guys 💛

Delighted to leave a 5* review for Nicola, Brenda and all at Doggy Dream Garden Retreat. What a wonderful place full of special people, lovely pets, care and kindness. Monty adored his time there and all of the new friends he made, furry and otherwise! Can't recommend highly enough and feel so lucky to have found them.

Cyndi had a lovely time staying with Ella and Scramble, where she was treated as one of the family. Ella sent daily updates and pictures so we could see Cyndi was really well cared for and very content. We recommend her unhesitatingly and will definitely be booking Cyndi in again. Thanks Ella!

Darren looked after my German Shepherd puppy for several nights. Literally, nothing was too much trouble. A very calm and clean household. Darren is visibly experienced and well suited to dogs of all ages. I was kept updated with photos and messages. It was like leaving my dog with a well trusted family member! Drop-off and pick-up was smooth and simple. When I arrived to pick my dog up, he was happy, calm, relaxed and freshly bathed. Darren is a highly recommended, tried and trustworthy boarding option for anyone in need of true pet care.

I could not recommend Matt enough, he was absolutely brilliant with Sherlock and went way beyond what I expected. Matt showed Sherlock so much kindness and Sherlock clearly had a wonderful day. You can be absolutely confident and content with Matt, he’s a very safe, thoughtful sitter.

I can't speak highly enough of Tina. She jumped in very last minute when I was let down by a friend with cover for Angus. Tina was quick to respond and was super accommodating. Communication throughout was brilliant and Angus loved his time there with Tina and her two boys... maybe a bit too much as he didn't want to leave when I went to pick him up! I would highly recommend Tina.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
