The cats were very well looked after by Gosia on our recent trip. She is so kind and caring. She is responsible and organised - which really puts my mind at ease leaving them. We got photos and feedback for each visit which was really helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gosia.

Excellent. My nervous dog took to Amanda instantly. Went for a walk with her which she rarely does with new people. Amanda went above and beyond to ensure Maisie was relaxed and cared for. Highly recommend. Will use her again.

We really needed someone to look after our dogs (two retired greyhounds) at very short notice as something unexpected had come up - thankfully Claire was able to assist us, she popped around for a meet and greet later that day and we were immediately confident that our beloved greyhounds would be in safe hands the next day! A true animal lover - we will be sure to use her services again. We highly recommend Claire.

Dana was absolutely wonderful when she looked after Nori for me. I needed someone to go in twice during the day to walk her and feed her while I was in London. It was the first time we had met and she offered to join our morning walk to get to know both of us before spending time with Nori that day, which I’ve really appreciated. She gave me lots of updates during the day, and I felt very secure in the knowledge that Nori was in good hands. I would definitely book her again – in fact, we’ve already made a plan for the next sit! Thank you!

About: I’ve owned dogs throughout my life and have always loved caring for animals, I used to regularly walk a friend’s dog and have looked after dogs for friends and family while they were away on holiday. I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for your pet, and I will treat every dog as if they were my own 😊 I’m happy to provide regular updates, photos and plenty of attention to help both you and your dog feel comfortable and relaxed! I have a flexible schedule and can provide reliable care throughout the week and weekends, I am home all week and would only need to pop out for school run 3x a week 😃 I understand that pets thrive on routine, so I’ll do my best to maintain their usual feeding, walking and play schedules. Your pet will receive plenty of attention, care and regular updates while they’re with me! Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities, I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality and any special requirements before accepting a booking. I provide a calm, caring environment and always ensure pets are supervised, secure and treated like part of the family! I’m also happy to provide regular photo and message updates for peace of mind and can crate them if needed 😊

About: Dogs have been in my life for as long as I can remember but since meeting my partner (Cara) 13 years ago, we have had the responsibility of looking after our own dogs We lost our Australian terrier 6 years ago but now we have a cocker spaniel who is 5, very well trained with recall and tricks, although very excitable but this is due to the love he is shown regularly. Our dog is walked three times a day so you can guarantee any pet left with us will get exercise if desired. We are dog and animal lovers so they’ll be in great hands. I currently have a lot of flexibility in my job that allows me to work from home. This means I have the ability to care for your pet and also provide walks in the morning, lunch and evening. I’m outdoorsy and a keep fit kind of guy, so weather does not prevent me from getting my steps which is beneficial to me and your pets. Cara is unable to work from home but she makes it for our evening walks and our weekends are centred around our dog, we don’t go anywhere without him and even if we do he is left with our parents, not home alone. I have a fenced back garden, a very friendly dog named Jarvis (working cocker spaniel) which should provide some much needed company and entertainment for your pet.

About: I’ve spent the last 6+ years helping to care for my dad’s gorgeous cocker spaniel, who I absolutely love taking out for walks and spending time with. Looking after him has given me lots of hands-on experience with daily care, exercise, and making sure dogs feel happy and comfortable! I also regularly take care of my cousin’s cat, which I really enjoy. I’m a huge animal lover and genuinely love spending time with pets, giving them plenty of attention, care, and affection. I am currently job hunting so have plenty of availability and can be very flexible! Happy to do day time, early mornings, late evenings & weekends - anywhere you need the help! About: I have been surrounded by dogs and cats my whole life and have been trusted from a young age to care for pets belonging to family and friends. This experience has helped me develop a strong understanding of animal needs, including feeding, exercise, and general wellbeing. I am highly responsible, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing the best care for animals. I have 2 rescue dogs myself and have helped them build their courage and confidence back up to be able to go on walks with other dogs again as before they couldn’t even be in the same room as another dog. I’m a sixth form student that is happy to help care for pets whenever is needed and pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine, as I’ve grown up around animals and am used to planning my day around their needs. I follow the pets routine to keep them comfortable as possible and give them plenty of attention while respecting their individual boundaries, I’m confident with my abilities such as walking, feeding cleaning and keeping their environment clean and happy.

We booked Sophie for regular drop-ins over the span of two and a half weeks and honestly she has been an incredibly reliable, caring and communicative cat sitter. We could sleep easily knowing that someone responsible and genuinely good with pets is looking after our cat while we're out of the country. Dexter is usually very shy around strangers but instantly took a liking to her, which says a lot. We were concerned about letting someone we don't know have the keys to our flat for that long, but she has been nothing but respectful of our home. To sum it all up, we would definitely book her again!

About: If you are looking for a mature, reliable pet sitter then look no further! I have had over 20 years experience of pet sitting caring for cats, and dogs, old and young. There isn't much I haven't seen and I'm happy to give medication if required. I will love your animals as if they were my own giving love, cuddles and care to each and everyone one of them. I have a history of global pet sitting. Once our children flew the nest my husband and I went travelling and pet sitting globally; we were booked for 4 years solid travelling the world and looking after other peoples pets in their home. It was an enriching experience; one that I will always treasure. We have now settled back into our own home and wish to care for others' pets in our home, or in homes local to us. What I love the most is the 121 care I give for your pets, generally avoiding group pet sits. I currently work part time from home (as a researcher/project manager and wedding/funeral celebrant (Google: Celebrant Mounira for celebrant services including pet funerals) so am available all day every day for walks and care. We live close to a park and the beach so beach walks are popular! The garden is fully fenced and enclosed so all animals will be safe in the garden. Unless I know a dog very well I will do walks on the lead.

Christine was excellent! She came around prior to dog sitting to meet our dog Bobby and she had a nice calm approach which is great as Bobby can be nervous meeting new people. But all went great and Christine was excellent with communication throughout and gave us regular updates and sent pictures. And most importantly, Bobby was very thankful for her company. Would definitely use Christine again - thanks 👍

Anna looked after my cat Mary and this was the first time I had been away from Mary for any length of time. Anna sent me photos and updates twice daily and Mary seemed happy and engaging with Anna which is amazing as Mary doesn't usually bother to engage with most people - including me sometimes! Anna did a fantastic job with Mary and I highly recommend her and wouldn't hesitate to book her again.

Innes looked after our two cats whilst we were on holiday. Innes was very friendly, reliable and helpful throughout the whole process from arranging, visiting and dropping in whilst we were away. Our cats can sometimes seem stressed after we have been away but this was not the case with Innes looking after them. In this past, we have had friends or neighbours look after our cats, but after this we will probably rebook with Innes instead, as it is absolutely worth paying for. Thank you Innes!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Thanet on Rover is £14.66 per Visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 266 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Thanet. About 90% of Thanet sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
