Demelza was an absolute delight, we met a few days before so she could spend time with poppy, our 16 month old whippet, and I could see from that meeting she had integrity, confidence and a great aptitude. Poppy warmed to her immediately and I could see she was a perfect fit. Demelza looked after poppy at our place and I felt very comfortable to leave her in charge. She sent me photos of her time with poppy, which was very reassuring and I could see Poppy was happy. I would definitely invite Demelza back next time we need some help. 10 out of 10 Thank you Demelza for your help…until next time

Mads has looked after Luna three times now and they have become the best of friends. We always go away safe in the knowledge that she is being well looked after and always return to a very happy and contented cat.

About: Hello, welcome to my page. I am a local Folkestone resident and I am a caring, responsible and reliable pet owner who understands how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet in someone else's care. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I'll take the time to understand what they need and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and well looked after. I'm happy to provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks and companionship, while keeping to their usual feeding and care routines. I have had dogs in my family since before I could walk and I now have a Ragdoll kitten. I work from home and have a lot of flexibility. I can be available early morning, lunch, and after typical working hours. Weekends I have even more availability. Whether you have a dog or cat at home, I am comfortable with both. I can let your dog out for toilet breaks, feed them, give medication and play with them if they are comfortable with that. For your cat I can do the same, apart from letting them out if they are a house cat of course.

About: I grew up with Boxer dogs, and have experience house sitting and dog walking. I enjoy long walks along the coast, and would love some 4 legged company. If you would prefer us to stay indoors, please let me know what music and TV they enjoy, sometimes it helps to have something you watch on in the background. I'm currently work part time, I enjoy morning walks, and would love a 4 legged friend to join me. I have alot of flexibility, and can be avaliable at short notice. For walks, it is good for your dog to meet me, and see how we get on. I always have doggy bags and treats! Ask as many questions as you need to.

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life. I am the go to pet sitter when family and friends are away. Dogs, cats and other pets are always welcome in my home and I love animals. I am regular walker and am not squeamish when it comes to cleaning up mess. Calm and hyper dogs are welcome always. Their needs are the most important when it comes to caring for an animal so if its too hot for a walk then we stay in and play indoors or in the shaded garden if its raining and they want to go out ive got a raincoat I am not afraid of rain and if your pet loves to get covered in mud im not afraid to get dirty and I am more than happy to give them a bath. I am available thursday to sunday unless I have special things planned but I will give everyone more than enough notice to find extra care Im currently working part time and the rest of the week involves park days and beach days with my little boy so any pet care can be provided. I am also a jogger if your pet likes regular running and I have an accessible large crate for any sized dog if needed I have a fenced garden and 3 very friendly cats who have been trained to behave around dogs as they are outdoor pets. I have dog food wet and dry always available and pets are allowed on the furniture as long as they are house trained

About: I have had dogs and cats in my home since I was a small child alongside guinea -pigs, rabbits and chinchillas. Since living on my own (10yeard) I have had recue cats in my home and often looked after friends and family's animals by house sitting or walking them. For the last 2 years I have fostered dogs from the Charity Dogs Trust and have had basic training in grooming, giving medication and basic behavioural recognisition. I am most experienced with reactive dogs and those with anxiety. I currently work from home and only recently moved to Folkestone so I am looking to have some companionship and floofy cuddles during the day. Plus living opposite the beach there are loads of beach side walks and what better friend then a doggo to take with me. I have a flat with a roof terrace as well as access to the beach and no other pets currently so your fur baby will have a safe, quiet environment. I do have a crate if needed but usually let the floors on the sofa or in a Doggy bed. I drive so can pop into your home to pick up a pet if needed for walks or check ins. My neighbours don't have dogs either so reactive dogs should be happy too.

I'm so pleased with the care that Amber took of Mog. I felt so reassured and would definitely book with her again. Mog was well looked after and fussed over with lots of nice photos and updates. The area that Mog uses in the kitchen was also nice and clean and tidy.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and various pets throughout my life! I have experience with both large and small breeds of dogs as well as cats. Growing up we always had dogs in the house, and never less than 4! Because I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, I would say I have quite the love for them along with the experience for caring for them. Because I’ve been given the opportunity to care for dogs from young to old, energetic to reserved my entire life, I know how to accommodate to the dogs needs and be knowledgable enough to know what the dog needs most. Wether it’s a shorter walk due to arthritis or more physical time outside to burn off some energy, you can be certain your dogs needs will be met and they will be loved on! I work fully remote and from home. I go on walks daily in the morning, afternoon and evening, so I am happy to bring along your dog or visit your home to take them on walks :-) I often let the dogs I watch roam freely unless specified otherwise by the owner. All plants/ Potential hazards are always removed before welcoming a dog or cat into my home.

Here's a positive review you can use for Jasmin: I recently had the pleasure of having Jasmin care for our two cats for the second time, and I couldn't be more pleased! From the moment she arrived, it was clear that she genuinely cares for animals. She took perfect care of our cats, ensuring they were fed, played with, and given plenty of love and attention. Throughout her stay, we stayed in contact, and she provided regular updates, which gave us peace of mind. Jasmin is not only responsible and trustworthy but also a kind and caring person. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter. Thank you!

About: Hello!
My name is Shannon and I've been dog walking and pet sitting for over 9 years, in Abu Dhabi, Montreal, Toronto and now in Hythe. I also had my own dogs and various pets growing up and volunteered at an animal shelter and vets in my formative years, safe to say I've had lots of experience caring for our furry friends! I’ve had many pet owners rely on me for care services for some years now and looking forward to meeting new ones! I currently live in Hythe in a two bedroom with a garden and lots of lovely trail walks nearby for your dog to enjoy. There is also the seafront a short distance and I love to take the dogs swimming in the warmer months. You can see lots of pictures of Lake Ontario I used to take the dogs to in Canada! I enjoy being active and going on adventurous walks so your dog will get all the exercise they need If they're an active breed. I'm also happy to cosy up on the couch and watch Netflix if they're a lazy pup, but I’ll offer them the best of both! I have the most experience with dogs but I have sat many cats, some hamsters, a bunny and a hedgehog! I take care of every animal as if they were my own and I am extremely proactive in my approach to caring for your pets. I will go above and beyond to assure their specific needs are met with regards to their health, activity levels, personalities and little quirks. I've had Dachsunds with separation anxiety, Great Danes with leash reactivity, senior dogs with health problems and all sorts! As long as you are transparent and communicate your pets needs, I am confident in my ability to meet them, so you can rest assured they are in good hands! Healthy, safe and most of all happy! I love to take photos so you will receive lots of great pictures of your pet, I send snaps and updates multiple times a day and I pride myself on my communication with pet owners. I provide boarding, day care, house sitting, drop in visits/walks and would love to take care of your dog, cat or any pet! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and hope to hear from you soon!

Debbie is amazing! I knew from the moment I met her that she would be great for our cat. First time we’ve left her and she’s eaten all her food and been around looking chilled. I cannot recommend her enough!! Thank you & Rover for making our time away relaxing & worry free. 🩷

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Shepway on Rover is £14.95 per Visit (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 325 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Shepway. About 91% of Shepway sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
