About: My experience started with 3 years of dog walking, where I also provided pet sitting and cat drop‑ins for clients. When I moved into self‑employed cleaning, people trusted me around their pets because of my calm, reliable nature. Dogs have always been part of my life- our family Dachshund Poppy lived to 17, and my current Dachshund Pebbles has been with us since she was a tiny pup 8 years ago. I’m comfortable with different routines, temperaments, and energy levels, and I always aim to make pets feel safe and understood. Pet care is a natural part of my routine, and I plan my days around giving each pet calm, focused attention. I keep my schedule steady so they always receive reliable care, gentle company, and consistency throughout the day. I create a peaceful, safe environment by following each pet’s routine closely and respecting their boundaries. I move at their pace, offer calm reassurance, and keep their home feeling secure and familiar. My focus is always on comfort, safety, and clear communication.

About: Hello, welcome to my page. I am a local Folkestone resident and I am a caring, responsible and reliable pet owner who understands how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet in someone else's care. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I'll take the time to understand what they need and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and well looked after. I'm happy to provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks and companionship, while keeping to their usual feeding and care routines. I have had dogs in my family since before I could walk and I now have a Ragdoll kitten. I work from home and have a lot of flexibility. I can be available early morning, lunch, and after typical working hours. Weekends I have even more availability. Whether you have a dog or cat at home, I am comfortable with both. I can let your dog out for toilet breaks, feed them, give medication and play with them if they are comfortable with that. For your cat I can do the same, apart from letting them out if they are a house cat of course.

“Charmian is great! We came home to a happy little whippet. Charmian kept me updated throughout the day which is always wonderful. She’s great with Korra. Would definitely recommend her. We’ll be booking her to keep an eye on Korra again soon”

About: I’ve had experience with dogs my whole life, had two growing up, a boy and a girl. I also get to look after my sisters lovely Dachshund regularly:) I can be available most days, working around school drop off times. I am available most weekdays, I will have to schedule around the school run so won’t be able to do first thing in the morning but will be available after school drop off. I will ask you questions about your dog, likes, fears, any particular behaviours they may have, if they’re allergic to anything. Dogs will be kept on leads when out and on walks, unless stated otherwise by owners.
“Isabelle was absolutely brilliant with Ted, she sent photos to us while we were out which was lovely! Ted really took to her and he was well looked after. She was confident and caring, highly recommend her and will definitely be booking her again 🩷”

“Shaheen has looked after Brinkley twice now and both times has been so excellent with him, totally reliable and very communicative. It’s clear Brinkley has a great time with her and is always sad to see her go. Would highly recommend Shaheen to anyone looking for a sitter!”

About: I have been walking my friend's dog for about 4 years and he has recently become blind. I am very protective of him when walking. I have recently taken early retirement. I have many hobbies but walking is my main one so dog walking would fit nicely into that. I have always loved dogs. I think I have had empty nest syndrome since my 3 children left home 😁 We have a large garden but the dog wouldn't be able to be left there on its own as it is not secure. I would have to take it out on the lead.
About: I have taken care of pets my whole life. I am the go to pet sitter when family and friends are away. Dogs, cats and other pets are always welcome in my home and I love animals. I am regular walker and am not squeamish when it comes to cleaning up mess. Calm and hyper dogs are welcome always. Their needs are the most important when it comes to caring for an animal so if its too hot for a walk then we stay in and play indoors or in the shaded garden if its raining and they want to go out ive got a raincoat I am not afraid of rain and if your pet loves to get covered in mud im not afraid to get dirty and I am more than happy to give them a bath. I am available thursday to sunday unless I have special things planned but I will give everyone more than enough notice to find extra care Im currently working part time and the rest of the week involves park days and beach days with my little boy so any pet care can be provided. I am also a jogger if your pet likes regular running and I have an accessible large crate for any sized dog if needed I have a fenced garden and 3 very friendly cats who have been trained to behave around dogs as they are outdoor pets. I have dog food wet and dry always available and pets are allowed on the furniture as long as they are house trained
“We couldn’t have asked for better sitters than Lorenzo and Yelyzaveta! They took amazing care of our two dogs ( jack russell and a collie cross) while we were travelling to Australia. They checked in regularly , providing updates and photos as well as to ask any questions regarding the dogs behaviour to make sure it was normal for the pups ( it was!), which really showed how attentive and caring they are. One of our dogs requires a couple of medications , and they handled that without any issues. It was clear from the start that they genuinely love spending time with dogs — our two were happy, relaxed, and clearly very comfortable when we got home. They also looked after the house beautifully and went above and beyond to leave everything in great shape, even making sure there was still enough cooked dog food ready and washing the sheets as our in-laws were arriving straight after. We’re so grateful for the care and attention they gave to both our pets and our home. We would absolutely have them back anytime and can’t recommend them highly enough!”

“Debbie was the perfect sitter. She bonded immediately with my dog, Clovis, and he was very happy to be left in her care. She looked after him very well and took him on lovely long walks. When I got back home he was pleased to see me but had obviously not missed me at all! I would recommend Debbie to anybody.”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for over 20 years, and animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child , our house was filled with dogs (Jack Russells, Border Collie and Labradors, not all at the same time), horses, budgies, tortoises and even goldfish, so caring for animals comes naturally to me. I’m calm, patient and confident with all kinds of pets, and I understand how important it is for dogs to feel safe, loved and relaxed when they’re away from their owners. Whether your doggie requires companionship, regular walks or simply keeping to their routine, I will give every dog the same care and attention that I’d want for my own. I’m retired and at home all day, so your dog will have company, attention and a calm, settled environment. My home is quiet and relaxed, which makes it especially suitable for nervous dogs, older dogs or those who simply enjoy a slower pace. There are countryside walks on my doorstep and the beach isn't too far away if you don't mind me taking your dog there. I live on a quiet road with a small, secure fenced garden where dogs can relax safely. Countryside walks are right on my doorstep, giving every dog plenty of fresh air, gentle adventure and a peaceful change of scenery. 🐾 My Experience Animals have been part of my life from the very beginning. I grew up in a home full of pets — dogs, budgies, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, you name it, we had it. Later, when I married, we had a succession of Dobermans who were very much part of the family. Our last one sadly passed away two years ago, and caring for other people’s dogs now brings me a lot of joy and purpose. Your dog will be treated with the same love, patience and respect I’ve always given my own.
“Milena looked after our dog for two weeks and stayed in the house. Milena was excellent in every aspect and gave me a daily update on walks and general updates on Fluffy. The house was kept clean and indeed was cleaner when I came back than when I left on the trip. Fluffy was obviously relaxed and happy and had a great two weeks of love and care from Milena. I would definitely recommend Milena for anyone needing an in-house sitter. I have no complaints and indeed it could not have worked out better. Finding Milena was a huge comfort and allowed me to make a business trip overseas without kennel guilt or other stress for me and the dog. Much appreciated and recommended.”

About: Friendly and reliable dog lover with 7 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. I’m confident with everything from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a gentler pace, and I always make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m available for weekday evenings and all day on weekends, making me ideal for after-work walks, evening check-ins, weekend dog sitting, or longer daytime walks. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. When caring for dogs in their own home, I will follow your instructions carefully, maintain their normal routine, ensure doors and gates are secure, and provide plenty of supervision, attention, and reassurance. During walks, I use secure leads and harnesses as requested, stay aware of the surrounding environment, avoid unsafe situations, and make sure dogs are kept safe around roads, other animals, and unfamiliar areas. I understand that every dog has different needs and confidence levels, and I always adapt my care to suit them.

About: I've looked after friends and families dogs whilst they are away on holiday, I used to walk my neighbours dog as young as 8. I lived in Australia for a year on a farm and always helped out with the animals and would love spending time with the working dogs. I currently work from home except for Thursday's. However, if your dog doesn't like to be left then I could potentially be able to work from home on that day if required but this would need to be confirmed during booking as id need to give my work notice and make sure this is ok. I currently don't have any pets, I am happy to come to your home and look after them or take them for walks/check in/ feed them. Also happy to do over night stays.
“Ina was really friendly and professional, great communication prior, leading up too and following the visit. Ina arranged a meet up and taking time to get to know us and our dog Belle. Belle was really settled with Ina. Thank you Ina for taking such good care of Belle, a very anxious dog was calm and relaxed when we returned.”

Would thoroughly recommend Yu. She was really quick to respond to my request, and has a very calm and friendly approach which immediately puts you at ease. She sent updates throughout the day and my dog Finn was super relaxed and happy after Yu looked after him for the evening.

We left our 3 doggies with Marie, and we felt so secure in doing so. She is such a kind genuine person and clearly has a great love for dogs/animals. She kept in contact with us constantly with updates on how they were doing, with photos and videos also. Which is always great when you miss seeing your pups. She not only looked after the dogs but she looked after the house so well. She definitely goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend her to everyone, the BEST dog sitter we’ve ever had.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Shepway walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shepway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
