Availability
I currently work part time at a café, and my days there can vary, so I like to keep my schedule flexible. This means I can often fit in dog walks or pet care around my shifts. I don’t drive, but I’m based in Hythe and happy to walk or use public transport to reach nearby areas like Folkestone — I’m used to planning ahead and giving myself plenty of time to get where I need to be. For house sitting, I’m open and flexible, though I do have two lovely dogs of my own, so I’d just need to plan around their care too. I’m always happy to discuss what works best for everyone to make sure all pets are well looked after.

Safety, trust & environment
When looking after pets in someone else’s home, I treat both the animals and the space with the same care and respect I would my own. I’m tidy, sensible, and always mindful that I’m a guest in your home. I like to have clear instructions before a stay — things like feeding routines, where pets are allowed to go, and any household rules around windows, doors, or garden access. It helps me make sure everything stays safe and secure. I always double-check that gates and doors are properly closed, keep an eye on anything that could be a safety risk, and make sure pets are comfortable and relaxed while you’re away. My aim is for you to come home to a happy pet and a spotless home.
Information Amy A. would like to know about your pet
Before looking after a pet, I always like to get a good sense of their usual routine and personality. It’s really helpful to know their feeding times, portion sizes, and any dietary needs or allergies. I also like to understand how they are on walks — for example, whether they’re confident around other dogs, people, or traffic. If they have any medical conditions or need medication, I’m happy to follow instructions carefully. I also like to know any house rules, such as where they’re allowed to go or if they have certain treats or toys they love. It’s always lovely to hear about their little quirks or habits too — those small details that make them who they are and help me keep them happy, safe, and settled while you’re away.
A typical day
I like to tailor each day to the pet’s personality and energy levels. For dogs, that usually means a good walk — whether that’s along the beach, through local parks, or a quiet wander where they can sniff and explore at their own pace. Back at home, I love spending time playing, giving cuddles, or keeping them company while they relax. If they’re more energetic, we might play fetch or use enrichment games to keep their minds active. For older or calmer pets, I’m just as happy to keep things gentle and comforting. My aim is always to keep them happy, settled, and relaxed — sticking to their usual routine as much as possible so they feel secure while you’re away.

Caring, reliable animal lover by the sea
Pet care experience
I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs of all kinds – from energetic Springer Spaniels and loyal German Shepherds to gentle Labradoodles and mixed breeds. Caring for dogs has always been a big part of my life, and over the years I’ve gained experience with everything from playful puppies to older dogs who need a bit of extra care and patience. I’ve also looked after friends’ pets, including a Romanian rescue dog who needed reassurance and structure, and several house cats who enjoy company, playtime, and a watchful eye to keep them safely indoors. I currently have two senior dogs of my own, so I’m experienced with administering medication, gentle grooming, claw trimming, bathing, and soothing massages for joint comfort. I always aim to provide calm, loving, and reliable care — treating every animal as if they were my own.
Reviews

Absolutely wonderful human and animal lover. Took such good care of Wade and the flat. Will definitely book again!!! Sent updates and photos too x
Amy was a wonderful house & dog sitter! Our dog was perfectly looked after, with all instructions for her diet & walking routine followed (previous sitters had paid no heed to them, which was very frustrating). Our dog is a rescue, and can be a bit spicy with other dogs, but Amy was great and kept her on the lead at all times (just in case our dog caused any mischief). Amy sent us regular pictures and videos on WhatsApp, so we were really reassured that our girl was getting lots of love and was well looked after. Upon our return the house was perfectly looked after. 10/10 service, highly recommend, and wouldn't hesitate to use her services again.
Amy has looked after our house and cats several times while we’ve been away, including once for a full two weeks. She does a fantastic job with the cats — I always know they’re getting plenty of love, attention, and excellent care when Amy is around! Our cats can be a bit tricky since they’re indoor cats and only allowed in the garden, and they also use litter trays, but Amy handles it all effortlessly. The house is always spotless when we return, and it’s such a relief knowing everything is so well looked after. We’re always incredibly grateful to have Amy cat-sitting for us — we know our cats and home couldn’t be in better hands!
Amy and our Labradoodle Ruby are best friends. Ruby gets so excited when Amy arrives. I trust her completely. She is loving and caring. She understands that Ruby is a senior dog now and doesn't walk her too far letting Ruby set the pace. She understands what other dogs or animals Ruby maybe nervous of and avoids confrontations. I trust her to let Ruby off the lead in secure areas. She will also house sit with Ruby and again is totally trustworthy.
