This is the second time Bekki has looked after Rosie and she’s the best. Rosie remembered her and clearly loves her. It’s lovely knowing she’s safe and being well cared for when we’re not there. We feel fully comfortable having Bekki in our home

Lucy was fabulous and communicated well throughout the 24hour stay. She even dealt brilliantly with my murderous cat bringing a pigeon into the house (sorry Lucy). I will 100% use Lucy again. Both my cat and dog were happy and well when I got home and she did exactly as asked ☺️

About: Having a dogs and cats of my own has given me valuable, hands-on experience in understanding and meeting a dog’s individual needs. In addition, I regularly house-sit and care for my family members’ dogs, which has further strengthened my confidence in managing a range of temperaments, routines and care requirements. I had worked in the veterinary industry for numerous years, gaining practical experience in animal health, welfare and clinical environments. I also completed an animal-based degree covering animal behaviour and animal nursing, which provided me with a strong foundation in both the practical and theoretical aspects of animal care. I now work within animal-based education, where I continue to apply and develop my knowledge within the animal care sector. My weekday availability is primarily in the evenings. However, during school holidays, my availability increases and I am able to offer greater flexibility. I work full time but i am available most evenings. Please enquire further if you have any questions at all. I am more than happy to help. Within my own home I have a high fence. Within clients homes I expect it to be fully fenced. I also expect a waiver and small questionnaire to be answered so I am best equipped to deal with your animals.

Lucy did a fantastic job of looking after Mabel, especially grateful as it was short notice. It’s so lovely to meet such a genuine nice person with an affinity for dogs. It was a pleasure to have her in the house and I had 100% confidence in her abilities and Mabel took to her straight away.

I could not be more happy with the care and attention given by Charlotte to my elderly boy Cooper. He was sadly diagnosed with lymphoma a week before we went away. When I informed Charlotte she immediately asked what extra care he might need and details of out of hours contact information for Cooper’s vet if it was required. Charlotte kept in touch every day with updates and pictures. I came home to a very clean house and a happy dog. I would not hesitate to recommend Charlotte to anyone looking for a caring, reliable person to care for their pet.

Emily came to our home to sit with Domino for the day. Emily was absolutely brilliant with Domino, she understood he is a rescue and how to read his body language. Emily sent us photos and messages throughout the day with updates which put us at ease. From the outset Emily had a great rapport with Domino making a fuss of him and playing ball, and knowing when to give him space. Domino has a new best friend. All in all we can't rate Emily highly enough, she respected our home and was great with Domino. Will definitely be booking Emily again.

Lauren stepped in at the last minute after another 'Rover' sitter cancelled 2 days before the booking. Even though there was only 2 days to go she managed to fit in a meet and greet with our dog Sadie, whom she seemed to like straight away. Lauren has an affinity with animals that's clear to see. Lauren handled the tasks of giving medication and cleaning up messes, without question, which was amazing as Sadie in her old age is prone to accidents in the house. Lauren left the house better than we had left it, cleaning up after herself and Sadie. I would recommend to anyone with an elderly dog needing that bit of extra care. I wish Lauren every success in the future and I hope she is available next time we need her.

🐾 Five-star paws-up for Eleanor! Eleanor looked after Tobi and Harley with such warmth and care that it was as if they’d known her forever. From the moment she walked through the door, both dogs took to her instantly—and that says a lot, especially with Tobi’s usual shyness and Harley’s boisterous energy! • Eleanor was punctual, professional, and attentive to every detail of their routine • She kept them safe, happy, and thoroughly entertained—with plenty of cuddles and playtime. Highly recommended for anyone needing a trustworthy, dog-loving sitter. Tobi and Harley can’t wait to see her again! 🐶💕

FAQs for House Sitting - Ashford

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ashford on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 888 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ashford. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Ashford walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
