Luciana helped us out with some last minute doggy daycare. She was super responsive and accommodating. She has a lovely dog of her own who was a great playmate for our fun-loving miniature schnauzer. He also had a big walk and time to snooze as well. He was very happy to return the next day!

It’s the first time we have left Brenda with anyone, she was met with a very warm welcome and we felt at ease straight away leaving her. When we picked her up she was pleased to see me and was lovely to hear that she had been a good girl too. We will definitely be requiring and using Daisy’s wonderful service again, knowing that Brenda is safe and happy.

About: I have had dogs since a child, I have always had dogs in my family as an adult, I have bred a few litters of puppies, trained my dogs, walk them every day, I groom my own dogs as well as others, I treat basic health issues. I’m sensitive to each individual dogs needs whether it’s exercise or time on their own. I believe I can read a dog’s body language and behaviour. I am firm but fair and find dogs like my routine. I am covered by my own pet insurance in case of emergencies. I’m retired so I’m at home as much as I want to be, I’m up early and can adopt any routine to suit any visiting dog, I have family and visiting grandchildren who would be supervised around any visiting dog, we all love dogs and they play a big part of our life. I generally do one big walk a day, forests, woods, parks, open land, beaches, I love walking and enjoy taking the dogs with me. I’m often working outside in the garden and the dogs love being free to explore the garden and checking up on me. I have a miniature poodle, my children have a toy poodle, a Cavapoo and a lurcher, all our dogs are well socialised and get along with other dogs. At the moment I have 2 dogs on the property, they get walked every day but I have 6 acres they can explore all day, they can go outside when they please, or they can also slob about on the sofas, play together or with their toys. Any visiting dog would be treated like my own. My dogs don’t need crate time but I'm happy to use a crate if a dog prefers the security of a limited area. Any new dog who comes for the day or boarding I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire so I know everything about your dog’s routine and care instructions, I want your dog to feel at home as much as possible.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12 years old. Most time of my life there is dog accompanied me. Our whole family do love dogs. We have experience to look after no matter puppy or old age dog. I work day time and my partner Kevin work at night time, so there will be people around all day. I work in school, so term breaks and weekend we are all free. I have a fenced yard, also outside my house is a big field which is perfect for dog walks. My dog just passed away few months ago, we still keep a lot of doggy stuff like snacks and pet food. We don’t want to keep new members yet, but would like to take care some other dogs as an accompany at the moment.

This was Elsie's first day away from us since we got her. We were very nervous about leaving her but there was no need. She had a fantastic time. Claire is so calm and loving towards all dogs Elsie felt at home and we had a wonderful day knowing she was aged for the way we would. Claire sent us a video of her walk with her and her, Jake and Reg. I would recommend Claire to everyone. She is amazing. Thank you so much Claire and your family for welcoming Elsie :)

I was nervous about leaving my pup Starla for the first time but Kerry was wonderful, friendly and supportive. She followed routine and kept me updated with pictures and videos of Starla settling in and enjoying herself which was greatly appreciated. By the end of the first day Starla had bonded well with Kerry and her dog Doris and was excited to see them again the next day. I'm sure she is going to miss you both!

About: I am exactly who I would want to leave my dog with or have my dog walked by as I put dogs in front of humans 😂 My small Munsterlander is 4 now and I’ve had her since a pup, we’ve recently moved back to the UK from Spain and I’m out with her on big ball playing walks 4/5 times per day as she is super active and I need the outside time too so I thought this would be perfect for me to get a bit of pocket money and be around my favourite animals at the same time. I have trained my girl since a pup and understand all aspects of dog training and how they operate in general so I’m happy to have dogs off the lead although at the same time happy to walk them on a long lead :) Walking wise I’ll have mine with me and she’s off the lead running chasing the ball in the local fields etc so any dog can join in and we’ll have a great time if you want me to have your dog overnight I’ll make it so they don’t even want to come back to you which is exactly what I would expect and hope for if I was to leave my baby! How will I do that? 🤔 I’ll make sure they have the best walks ever so we’re all chilled for cozy cuddle time and I’ll cook up something meaty for them super nutritional and make sure they sleep right next to me by the bed :) I actually do nothing all day everyday apart from look after my best mate (Maddie in my photo) since I’ve moved back here to the UK I find myself out 4/5 times per day with my dog so would be the exact same to look after another doggy :) There is no escape as we’re in a flat so no safety concerns in that sense this also encourages me even more to make sure once my doggy has chilled for a couple hours we’re back outside playing again as there isn’t a garden.

About: I have been babysitting dogs for a few years now. I have always been a dog lover and fostered several dogs growing up. In the last few years, I have hosted dogs in my house over holidays and vacations. I also live an active life and take dogs for long walks and hikes. I know it can be hard to go out and make plans when you have a dog, I am always down to take care of your baby if you have dinners or date nights planned. I have also helped owners take their dogs to the vet or provide other kinds of support in taking care of their fur-babies. I currently work hybrid and have to be in the office only once or twice a week. My office is pet friendly and once I bond with your fur baby and I know their temperament, I can take them in (if needed). I live in an apartment with a decently sized balcony with high railings. Any fur baby that comes over can make themselves at home and explore the house. There are no sharp objects or harmful plants. I am very attentive to the needs of your pets, I have previously taken pets to the vet on behalf of the owners. There are a few lovely parks nearby where I can take your babies for a walk.

About: I am 56 and work shifts on the railway. I have plenty of free time and days off. I moved from London to Ashford two years ago. I now live on my own in a 2 bed coach house with plenty of dog friendly communal gardens and open spaces. I have owned and cared for dogs all my life and still miss having a dog at home. Although it is not practical for me to own a dog whilst I am still working I love to care for and walk dogs around my work schedule. I work shifts but have plenty of free time. I know well in advance of my shift patterns/days off ect. so booking my time should not be a problem. Although its not easy to commit myself for more than one or two nights at a time, i do have sometimes have blocks of days off so may be available for longer. My son sometimes comes down and stays with our pug (Jeff) and although he does not need too much exercise these days I still love taking him out and generally having him around.

Having recently moved to the area, finding a reliable and understanding dog minder for Luna was a top priority. Luna is a shy and nervous dog, accustomed to long-term relationships with her previous carers, so this was a significant change for her. However, Luciana immediately put me at ease during our initial meet and greet. I was naturally anxious on Luna's first day, but Luciana provided continuous updates, including videos and photos, and made every effort to help Luna settle. Despite Luna being a "difficult customer" initially, she genuinely warmed to Luciana by the end of the day. I am incredibly relieved to have found such a compassionate and capable person to care for my fur baby.

Ngima was great with Angel, we had loads of lovely updates, pictures and videos to show how Angel was settling in, which was really nice especially for her first time at a new home. Ngima took in all the info about Angel's needs and routine including her feeding times and walk times etc. We felt at ease knowing Angel was under such good care! Angel will be looking forward to her next stay with Ngima, Gelu and family!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Ashford

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Ashford on Rover is £26.45 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 784 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Ashford. About 85% of Ashford sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Ashford commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
