Olga has been a lifeline for me during a tough time for my family, looking after my dog Paco when I have had to be away from him at the weekends. He’s always happy and well exercised and fed, she takes good care of him for me.

About: Hello there I’m Nicola, a caring and highly experienced dog walker/ sitter serving Canterbury and surrounding villages. I only look after solo pets and those from the same household. My 'speciality' is reassuring nervous dogs (as well as anxious owners!) I can be flexibly with my availability; whether you need regular weekday walks or occasional pet services. I work fully remotely so make a great daytime companion (I am a part-time researcher/ advocate for refugee rights). If you require a pet service not explicit on my profile do get in touch, I am always open to new ideas and learning new skills. I have had rescue dogs throughout my life, including "failed" police dogs and elderly dogs. Previously, I fostered Romanian rescue dogs, ahead of helping them find their forever homes. I have cared for puppies, elderly pets and those with mobility and/ or health considerations. I already have some regular dog walking Clients but have recently gained capacity to take on more work (I am new to Rover). I am now also available for pet sitting whether at my home or yours. I have an enclosed garden, and my home is located a short distance from public footpaths and fields. After saying goodbye to my beloved fur-son last year I do not currently have pets myself (still too bereft!) I have a primary school aged child who is very used to dogs of all ages and sizes (but this would need to be considered ahead of overnight stays my home). I have 25+ years' experience caring for my own/ other people's pets, including in their own homes. As well as previously fostering Romanian rescue dogs, I have cared for puppies, elderly pets and those with health considerations. I am also highly experienced in working with vulnerable people. I hold an enhanced DBS check and my own insurance.

About: I have experience caring for dogs through regular walking, feeding, play, and companionship. Friends and family have trusted me with their pets, and I always take time to understand each dog’s needs, routines, and personality. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I plan my schedule around walks, feeding, playtime and check-ins, and I’m flexible with mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I make sure each pet gets plenty of attention and isn’t rushed. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow owners’ instructions closely, keep a calm and clean environment, and make sure pets are always supervised. I’m careful on walks, use secure leads, and never let dogs off-lead unless explicitly agreed. I respect your home and your pet’s routine, and I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind.

About: I just love animals!!! I’ve taken care of dogs of all different breeds and sizes from a very young age. I grew up with 2 dogs constantly around and as I grew I gained more responsibility looking after them. Enjoying this led me to pursue looking after other people’s lovely dogs and cats etc. I have looked after lots of animals at this point - including a Turtle while the owners were in Japan! I am caring, loving and provide an excellent service for any animal. I am incredibly attentive and have an in depth understanding of the requirements of different and animals/ breeds. My cat and dogs will testify to this along with all the happy customers I have looked after! Working from home allows me to pay far more attention to pets than I probably should! I work fully remotely as a Project Manager in Canterbury and have a flexible schedule. I am available for sitting through the day, any day of the week and also for over night stays. I would ensure whatever pet I was taking care of received the best and most effective care. To ensure this happens I would have a discussion prior to any visits/ walks to ensure your wants and expectations of my service can be met. Within this I would also want to cover any specific requirement of your pet - ie current commands and training.

Upon meeting Hannah its easy to tell she has a lot of experience with dogs and I had no qualms leaving our young Ridgeback girl with her for daycare. Cody was very relaxed as soon as she arrived and very content when I left her with Hannah and her Boys. Cody hasn't spent much time with children and it was nice to see how calm the boys were with her and vice versa. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hannah will be rebooking again in the future.

About: I don’t just watch pets—I care for them like they are part of our family. With years of hands-on experience I take time to get to know each pet’s unique personality, needs and routines. Whether it’s extra playtime for an energetic puppy, quiet comfort for an older pet, I tailor my care to make every pet feel safe, loved, and at home 🙂 Pet care fits right into my life! I’m an outgoing person who loves being outdoors and staying active, whether it’s going for walks, playing fetch, or just enjoying some fresh air. I genuinely love spending time with animals and making sure they feel happy, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. Caring for pets never feels like work it’s something that always brightens my day! ☺️ When pets stay with me, I treat them like part of the family. They get a comfortable place to rest, regular walks or playtime, and lots of affection. I make sure they feel at home, keep their feeding routine consistent, and always provide a calm, loving environment.

About: Throughout my life I have had many different animals but I’ve always had a special place for dogs. I have had 3 dogs in my life time, which were a westie, cavachon and mastiff cross. Each one I have loved with my heart and spoilt them rotten. I have recently lost my westie and mastiff and honestly both me and my fur baby is feeling that loss a lot, so we want give that love to another fur baby. I’m currently working part time, so I’m available most days for dog sitting, boarding and walking. I currently enjoy taking my dog for long walks on the beach, fields and woods so would love to have another dog join us. My garden is fully secure and this is checked regularly. My dog is very friendly and can keep your fur baby company whilst with us. I am very reliable and always think of the dogs best interest.

This was 7mth Sullivan's first 'stopover' away from home! - and it was a real home from home stay. We met Dean through the app and had a 'meet and greet' as I had a day in London planned later with a friend. I felt I could leave Sullivan with the confidence that he would be looked after and welcomed as the excited playful pup he is. Dean updated me through the day with pics showing me a happy settled pup having a lovely walk in the orchard and lounging on the sofa! Thank you Dean (and family) I was able to enjoy my day out and collected a tired but relaxed pup at the end. Excellent!

Emily clearly loves animals and was so good with our slightly nervous dog Colin she was so kind and took him on a massive long walk which was really sweet of her. It was a fairly last minute booking and our first time leaving Colin with someone not in our own house, so I was a bit nervous but Emily gave loads of updates which put my mind at rest. FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Canterbury

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Canterbury on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 649 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Canterbury. About 87% of Canterbury sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Canterbury commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
