I recently booked an overnight stay for my boy Tate, and it was his very first night away from us. Although there were a few challenges from him, the communication throughout was excellent and really put us at ease. She treated Tate like an absolute king Lab, patient, caring, and completely dedicated to making him comfortable. It was clear he was in safe, loving hands. I didn’t hesitate to book back in, and I’m genuinely grateful for the kindness you and your family showed him. Highly recommended.

About: Hi, I’m Michelle — a warm, friendly animal lover based in Canterbury. I live with my German Shorthaired Pointer, Otis, and two cats, Brownie and Peanut, so I’m very used to a busy, happy home with different personalities and energy levels. I’m new to offering dog care through Rover, but I bring years of real‑life experience as a dedicated pet owner. Living with both a high‑energy dog and calm, independent cats has taught me how to create a relaxed, safe environment where animals feel comfortable and understood. My approach is gentle, reliable, and calm. I’m easy to communicate with, and I’ll always make sure you feel updated and reassured while your dog is with me. I currently have plenty of flexibility in my week, which means I can offer reliable support for your pets. I’m available for walks, drop‑ins, and spending quality time with your animals. I live with my GSP and two cats, so I’m used to supporting pets with different needs and personalities. We have a safe, fully walled garden where dogs can relax and explore securely. I’m happy to separate animals when needed, and I can crate dogs safely and kindly — Otis used to be crated, so I’m very familiar with this. I follow your instructions closely and make sure your pets feel comfortable, secure, and well looked after. I enjoy taking dogs on both long, scenic walks and shorter, interesting routes depending on what suits them best.

Kayleigh was absolutely fantastic with Wes, our rescue greyhound. It was the second time he stayed with Kayleigh and it was obvious from the pictures she sent that he had an absolute blast and felt extremely comfortable in her care. We had consistent updates from Kayleigh and felt we could completely trust her with Wes, even though we don't often leave him and he's getting on in years. I would not hesitate to reccomend Kayleigh to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter.

About: I’m a responsible, caring, and trustworthy person who has always had a special love for animals. Growing up, our home was always filled with dogs and cats, so caring for pets has been a natural and important part of my life from an early age. Since I was a child, I’ve also loved helping our neighbours by walking their dogs and spending time with their pets. I’ve always enjoyed being around animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Today, my husband, our children, and I absolutely adore animals. We believe pets are part of the family and deserve lots of love, attention, patience, and care. When your pet is with me, you can feel confident that they will be treated with the same kindness and affection I would give my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s usual routine, whether that means walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply keeping them company. I would love to welcome your furry family member and make sure they feel comfortable, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. ❤️🐾 I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to looking after pets. I’m able to give them lots of attention throughout the day, take them for regular walks, play with them, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Because I’m home most of the time, your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. I genuinely enjoy having animals around and would be happy to make them part of my daily routine. 🐾❤️ We have a garden with secure fencing, so pets can enjoy some outdoor time safely without the risk of running away. I always take safety very seriously and will make sure your pet is supervised and cared for while staying with us. You can have peace of mind knowing that they will be in a safe, secure, and loving environment.

About: I've always loved dogs and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I provide a safe, caring, and reliable service, treating every dog as if they were my own. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds, including energetic puppies and older dogs that need a slower pace and extra patience. I'm happy to stick to your dog's normal routine, including feeding schedules, administering oral medication if required, regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention and affection. Being active means I can provide long walks and engaging exercise for high-energy dogs, while also understanding when a quieter, gentler approach is needed for senior pets. I'm reliable, punctual, and know how important communication is, so I'll keep you updated with messages and photos while you're away for complete peace of mind. My priority is making sure your dog feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for, so you can relax knowing they're in safe hands. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I enjoy being active and make time every day for walks, outdoor exercise, and spending time with dogs. This means I can provide regular walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I understand how important it is to keep pets on their usual routine, so I'm happy to follow your dog's normal schedule, whether that's early morning walks, medication, meal times, or evening cuddles. I have a flexible schedule and always make sure the pets in my care receive the time, attention, and affection they deserve. For me, looking after dogs isn't just a job—it's something I genuinely enjoy, and I treat every dog as if they were part of my own family. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, my priority is making sure they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while keeping to their normal routine. I take the time to get to know each dog's personality, feeding schedule, walking routine, and any special requirements before their stay. I provide plenty of exercise, playtime, mental stimulation, and, of course, lots of affection. Fresh water is always available, and I make sure pets have a clean, comfortable place to rest. If I'm caring for your dog in your home, I'll respect your property as if it were my own while maintaining your pet's usual routine to help them feel settled. I'm also happy to administer oral medication if needed, provide regular toilet breaks, and send photo and message updates so you know your pet is happy and well looked after. I understand how much pets mean to their families, so I treat every dog with the same care, patience, and attention I'd give my own.

Otis loves going to stay with Katie’s - loads of running around in her fields with her other dogs! She’s also been a star with treating him in a way that he gets a bit of extra training as a 9 month old puppy! Katie’s flexibility has also gotten us out of a couple of tricky situations when we’ve had to find a sitter at short notice!! Thanks Katie!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have had a cat throughout my life, so animals have always been a bit part of my life. My grandparents also used to regularly dog-sit, which meant that I grew up around lots of different dogs and loved caring for them. I’m a genuine animal lover and would treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m responsible, patient and attentive, and would love the opportunity to care for your pets. I’ve recently completed my BSc in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, so I currently have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your pets. My degree has developed my responsibility, attention to detail, and understanding of health and wellbeing, all of which I feel are valuable when caring for animals. I’m available throughout the week and at the weekends and am happy to work around your pets usual routine. I have a secure, fenced garden and a friendly cat at home, and am used to having animals around. I’ll always take the time to understand your pets individual routine, personality, and will follow any instructions you provide carefully. About: I've taken care of pets throughout childhood (we owned two cats) and have been around dogs for a similar amount of time. My extended family always had dogs, from Jack Russell's and Cockapoos to Labradors. I loved them all and enjoy getting to know their individual personalities. I'm home most of the time, occasionally I have to be away in London. I would be able to travel local to Whitstable / Herne Bay and care for your dog as needed (walks or daycare). Or alternatively I can offer daycare at my home. There is a large garden at the back that dogs love to explore! I'm often in the back patio working so I can keep and eye on them. There are no other pets here so they will have all the space (and attention...) I know a few good walking spots in the local area. If there is a preferred route or grounds you'd like me to take your dog, please let me know.

About: Hiya, I’m Jessica (28) working for the Ministry of Justice as a Psychologist. I’m a reliable, caring, and experienced pet sitter based in Canterbury, Whitstable, and Herne Bay, offering a safe and loving environment for your pets while you’re away. I have a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in good hands. Whether it’s energetic dogs who need plenty of exercise or more relaxed cats who enjoy quiet company, I tailor my care to suit each pet’s personality and routine. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I have a structured schedule, which allows me to prioritise regular walks, feeding times, and check-ins throughout the day. I’m used to planning my time carefully, so I can ensure pets receive consistent care, attention, and companionship rather than being left alone for long periods. During the week, I can offer morning and evening walks, as well as drop-in visits or overnight care depending on your pet’s needs. Weekends are more flexible, giving me even more time to spend with pets for longer walks, playtime, and enrichment. I adapt my care depending on whether I’m looking after pets in my home or in the owner’s home, always focusing on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. In a pet owner’s home, I aim to maintain your pet’s normal schedule, including feeding times, walks, play, and any specific routines they’re used to. I make sure they feel comfortable in their familiar environment, give them plenty of attention and companionship, and keep your home tidy and secure. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away. If caring for pets in my own home, I provide a calm, safe, and welcoming environment where they can settle in comfortably. I ensure they have plenty of exercise, stimulation, and affection, while also respecting their individual needs—whether that’s lots of playtime or a quieter space to relax. In both settings, I pay close attention to each pet’s behaviour, wellbeing, and any specific instructions, including medication, dietary needs, or training preferences. My priority is always to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for at all times.

I was really anxious about leaving our pups but Kayleigh was just so kind & thoughtful. We could tell she really knew and understood dog behaviours and what they would need. During the stay, we got regular updates and tons of gorgeous photos, which showed the amount of care and attention that had gone into not just our pups visit, but to reassure us too. Valeriia is hands down the best sitter we've ever had on Rover. She looked after our two dogs, Fendi and Choo, for nearly a month while we were abroad, and we genuinely couldn't have asked for better care. She treated them like her own babies from day one. Throughout the whole stay she kept us constantly updated with a steady stream of photos and messages, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. You could see from every picture how happy and comfortable they were with her. When we got back, both dogs were relaxed, happy and clearly had the best time. That says everything about the love and attention she gave them. We can't recommend Valeriia highly enough and we'll absolutely be booking her again. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
