“Katrina & her sister (so sorry, wasn't sure how to spell your name) were fabulous! We have a nervous dog and they came to meet her first and carefully went through her needs / wants / quirks. They did a drop in to let her out for a wee and give her a spot of company to break up the day while we were out for a day trip. Katrina sent lots of photos and a detailed update which was very reassuring. I felt entirely confident in them and I will definitely be using them again! Thank you!”

“This is my second booking with Abbie and she’s been brill. Followed all feeding instructions, kept things clean and tidy, and sent me useful updates on how our cat was doing during each visit (eg pics, his demeanour.) I get very anxious leaving cat a behind and Abbie gave me so much peace of mind so I could enjoy my break. Thank you Abbie! ”

“Lottie was great with our Nala. She was very respond, reliable and attentive throughout the booking. She sent great updates and photos. We would highly recommend Lottie.”

“This was the second (and third) time Jessica looked after my cats. I was delighted they remembered her - a real testament to the care she gave them the first time. Jessica is helpful, friendly, and I was grateful to receive the updates she sent me. ”

“Olivia was perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend her for all of your pet sitting needs! She was great with the pups, super flexible with timings and changes , she communicated quickly and effectively, and went above and beyond whilst sitting the dogs. :)”

“Hannah offered a professional and caring service from our very first contact, promptly responding to messages and being flexible when we needed to make changes at short notice. Her updates after each drop in were both welcome and reassuring. We would not hesitate to recommend Hannah.”

“Klara was great! Our house was beautifully neat and tidy when we got back, but most of all, our cats were happy and had been fed and played with . Klara sent us photos of our cats and an update each time she visited, which eased our minds as they hadn't had a pet sitter before. Highly recommend and will definitely book again! Thank you, Klara!”

“As soon as I met Meghan I knew my Ziggy would be in safe hands. She is warm, kind and Ziggy loved her. She dropped in to him while I was on a weekend away. Knowing Ziggy was taken care of by her meant I had no anxiety leaving him overnight. Thank you Meghan! love Emma & Ziggy 🐾 xx”

“Meet beau as part of a meet and greet with my dogs. My dogs have a few issues that could be off putting to some (one is reactive to dogs and the other is very old with disabilities) - but nothing was too much trouble! Both the dogs were instantly at ease and beau is clearly a natural with dogs and an animal lover. Exactly what you want from a dog sitter! Will definitely be using for dog sitting in the future - thank you!”

About: Hi, I’m an experienced and reliable dog lover who has grown up around dogs my whole life. Because of this, I have a good understanding of dog behaviour and how to make dogs feel comfortable and safe. For the past three years, I have provided weekly walks for three dogs belonging to the same owner, and have also pet sat for them on multiple occasions. Caring for these different breeds has given me experience with a range of personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m confident handling dogs and always make sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need. I understand that every dog is different, so I’m happy to adapt to their usual routine and any specific requirements they may have. I take responsibility seriously and will always treat your dog with care and respect. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! -Alfie canterbury/ sturry and surrounding areas. My availability is marked on the calendar, but feel free to message with further enquiries. I will do my best to make our schedules work together and find the best suited time for you. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always come first. I know every dog has their own routine and preferences, so I’m happy to follow whatever they’re used to, from feeding schedules, walks, and playtime to training routines, medication, and sleeping arrangements. My aim is to keep your dog comfortable, happy, and cared for while sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine and ensuring they receive the attention they need.
“Monica was once again a great sitter for our cat. She left great photos and our kitty seems to have lot of fun with her! We definitely recommend Monica to other pet owners and will call her again next time we need a cat-sitter”

About: Hi, I’m Michelle — a warm, friendly animal lover based in Canterbury. I live with my German Shorthaired Pointer, Otis, and two cats, Brownie and Peanut, so I’m very used to a busy, happy home with different personalities and energy levels. I’m new to offering dog care through Rover, but I bring years of real‑life experience as a dedicated pet owner. Living with both a high‑energy dog and calm, independent cats has taught me how to create a relaxed, safe environment where animals feel comfortable and understood. My approach is gentle, reliable, and calm. I’m easy to communicate with, and I’ll always make sure you feel updated and reassured while your dog is with me. I currently have plenty of flexibility in my week, which means I can offer reliable support for your pets. I’m available for walks, drop‑ins, and spending quality time with your animals. I live with my GSP and two cats, so I’m used to supporting pets with different needs and personalities. We have a safe, fully walled garden where dogs can relax and explore securely. I’m happy to separate animals when needed, and I can crate dogs safely and kindly — Otis used to be crated, so I’m very familiar with this. I follow your instructions closely and make sure your pets feel comfortable, secure, and well looked after. I enjoy taking dogs on both long, scenic walks and shorter, interesting routes depending on what suits them best.
About: I’m a responsible, caring, and trustworthy person who has always had a special love for animals. Growing up, our home was always filled with dogs and cats, so caring for pets has been a natural and important part of my life from an early age. Since I was a child, I’ve also loved helping our neighbours by walking their dogs and spending time with their pets. I’ve always enjoyed being around animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Today, my husband, our children, and I absolutely adore animals. We believe pets are part of the family and deserve lots of love, attention, patience, and care. When your pet is with me, you can feel confident that they will be treated with the same kindness and affection I would give my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s usual routine, whether that means walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply keeping them company. I would love to welcome your furry family member and make sure they feel comfortable, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. ❤️🐾 I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to looking after pets. I’m able to give them lots of attention throughout the day, take them for regular walks, play with them, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Because I’m home most of the time, your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. I genuinely enjoy having animals around and would be happy to make them part of my daily routine. 🐾❤️ We have a garden with secure fencing, so pets can enjoy some outdoor time safely without the risk of running away. I always take safety very seriously and will make sure your pet is supervised and cared for while staying with us. You can have peace of mind knowing that they will be in a safe, secure, and loving environment.
About: I'm a lifelong pet owner, including horses, cats and - most notably - dogs. I've raised and cared for three dogs from puppies through to old age, plus adopting one rescue dog. These have been Alsatians, Welsh Collies and (we think!) some kind of Whippet/ Saluki cross. I've also got plenty of experience with a range of other breeds through friends and family. I understand that the most important thing for your own and your pet's happiness is to support your care and training approach, and am committed to working with you to keep everyone's tails wagging! I work flexibly from home, so can generally be very flexible in terms of availability. The only day with limited availability is a Sunday, due to family commitments, but otherwise can work around your schedule. Within your home, I would look to maintain a normal routine as much as possible to minimise any impact on your dog. I am happy to dispense medication, as well as feed, entertain and walk. I can also water plants and provide basic care for other pets if required. I understand and respect that this is your home, and would look to return it to you in the same condition it was in at the beginning of the visit.
“Alexandra did an excellent job 10 out of 10 .. She clearly loves cats and my cat loved her. Alexandra communicated really well, too sending photos and videos and updates about my cat at every visit. Recommended .”

“Jiachen looked after our cat whilst we were away for 10 days. Jiachen had great communication, keeping us updated with videos & photos daily. Would highly recommend using Jiachen for pet care.”

About: Since the age of 15 I have been caring for my own dogs. I have had a Doberman and a French Bulldog- two very different characters and both the reason why I have such a love for dogs. I have been a nanny for most of my life and within this I care for their dogs too. I love keeping dogs company, playing with them and caring for them in any way they need or are used to. I also love finding new places to walk whether that be at the beach, woods or playing fields in the area. I always like to meet and greet your dog before booking in because I think it’s important to know your current routine with your dog and get to know what may make them anxious, what they enjoy and anything you think I may need to know prior to being in my care. I am currently available Thursday-Sunday for walks & pop-ins. As from October 26, I will be opening my calendar to full time dog care. Please check my calendar for weekly availability. I will follow the routine you have with your pet as much as possible. I know lots of local walks to Canterbury and surrounding so your dog will get lots of stimulating walks and play time. I have experience with many breeds and sizes of different dogs. I have experience in lead and recall training. I will always be aware of safety in the summer- I will walk dogs early in the morning on hot days and always provide plenty of water and a cooling mat. I will love and care for your dogs just as they were my own.

Five stars isn’t enough! Giulia was wonderful with Jimmy, who bonded with her so quickly, which he does not do with everyone. Giulia went above and beyond while taking care of Jimmy. She was so attentive, caring and considerate; kept him company, made sure he had what he needed, cuddled him, played with him, and sent the cutes videos. We are so grateful, thank you Giulia!!

Belinda was amazing! We’ll definitely ask her to look after Brie again if she’s free, but I’d be surprised if she was because she’s so good at looking after pets!!!! She always sent updates and photos and messaged me to let me know how Brie was. I’d recommend her 100%

Alex was a fantastic cat sitter from start to finish and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. She was caring, knowledgeable, excellent at keeping us posted about every visit, lovely to our cat and a pleasure to meet and message with. She took the time to get to know our cat, truly cared about her needs and wellbeing and was punctual, reliable and trustworthy. I don't have any negative feedback at all, she was great! Thank you Alex :)
I can't recommend Katrina enough - I've left a review in the past but have engaged Katrina for drop-ins to our nervous and elderly dog many times now and she's utterly amazing! Entirely reliable, conscientious and so good with Luna who needs things done on her own terms. Thank you!

Frances is brilliant! This is the second time she has looked after Edie and she is so good with her. Edie is always clearly thrilled to see her and we rest assured that she is well looked after while we are away. The photo updates are always really lovely too and communication is brilliant. Highly recommend booking Frances!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Canterbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
