About: I grew up with Boxer dogs, and have experience house sitting and dog walking. I enjoy long walks along the coast, and would love some 4 legged company. If you would prefer us to stay indoors, please let me know what music and TV they enjoy, sometimes it helps to have something you watch on in the background. I'm currently work part time, I enjoy morning walks, and would love a 4 legged friend to join me. I have alot of flexibility, and can be avaliable at short notice. For walks, it is good for your dog to meet me, and see how we get on. I always have doggy bags and treats! Ask as many questions as you need to.

“Thank you to Charmian for looking after our two cats for a week. She left the house looking spotless and we came home to two happy cats. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Mads has looked after Luna three times now and they have become the best of friends. We always go away safe in the knowledge that she is being well looked after and always return to a very happy and contented cat.”

“Rachel was absolutely amazing. She came in gave our bella lots of fuss, and let her out to the toilet. did go above and beyond also by picking up her poops! and disposing of it! which she didn't have to but we really appreciate it! She showed so much care and love for our girl, we could not have wished for anyone more compassionate. Have already booked her again!”

“Milena was excellent - really great communication before and throughout the drop-in, and sent pictures of our little chihuahua all happy and relaxed during her visit! Would definitely recommend and will book with her again ☺️”

About: I have my own dog, a small bichon male neutered dog. Friendly, loves other dogs. He is a rescue from the Canterbury’s dogs trust, so I understand the challenges that come with this. I’ve previously owned a Labrador who I cared for in her old age. I have also looked after other people’s dogs through ‘borrow-my-dogggy’. I have a solid understanding of dog behaviour and my mother in law is a dog trainer. I am a freelancer and work remotely, so my schedule is very open. I am flexible and happy to come to you if required and within an ok distance. I have a fenced garden and one friendly 3 year old bichon. I have a car if needed for walks, collection, drop off or vet appointments. I live in a 3 bedroom house.
About: I’ve had experience with dogs my whole life, had two growing up, a boy and a girl. I also get to look after my sisters lovely Dachshund regularly:) I can be available most days, working around school drop off times. I am available most weekdays, I will have to schedule around the school run so won’t be able to do first thing in the morning but will be available after school drop off. I will ask you questions about your dog, likes, fears, any particular behaviours they may have, if they’re allergic to anything. Dogs will be kept on leads when out and on walks, unless stated otherwise by owners.

About: Most dog walkers and minders will tell you they love dogs. I do too - but I've invested in understanding and caring for them. Certified Professional Dog Walker - this isn't a hobby or a side hustle. I'm a certified professional dog walker. Your dog is in the hands of someone who has been formally assessed and qualified to do exactly this. IMDT Level 3 Qualification - the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) is one of the most respected professional bodies in the UK for dog behaviour and training. Level 3 means I understand stress signals, group dynamics and how to read a dog's emotional. When your dog is in my care, nothing goes unnoticed. Qualified Canine First Aider - this one matters more than people realise. Accidents happen on walks. A dog can cut a paw, choke, or have a reaction to something they've eaten. I have certified canine first aid training and know exactly how to respond in an emergency - calmly, correctly and quickly. Small numbers - I will never take on more dogs than I can give proper attention to. Small Pack, Big Love. A professional background in running things - before Dog Daycare - I spent fifteen years as a project director for some of the world's biggest brands. I know how to run an operation properly: clear communication, reliability, punctuality, and keeping you fully informed. You'll always know what your dog got up to. Sandgate and the Kent coast as a classroom - every walk here is genuinely enriching. Beach, coastal path, open countryside, the sensory environment alone is brilliant for dogs. Transparent care - I'll tell you how your dog did, what I noticed, what they enjoyed. A Bit More About Me I'm an open water swimmer, Iron Man competitor and CrossFit enthusiast - so I understand what it means to be committed to something physical and to show up consistently regardless of weather or mood. Your dog gets walked properly in January as much as July. I'm multilingual (Dutch, French, English, enough Spanish and German to get by) Practical Details 📍 Based in Sandgate, CT20 🗺️ Covering Folkestone, Hythe, Saltwood, Cheriton and surrounding villages ✅ IMDT Level 3 qualified ✅ Certified professional dog walker ✅ Qualified canine first aider 🏛️ Animal activity licence in progress 🐕 Small numbers – Samll Pack, Big Love 📱 Updates and photos throughout every session 🤝 Free meet and greet before any booking Get In Touch If you'd like to know more, have a chat about your dog, or book a free meet and greet, I'd love to hear from you. The best care starts with the right conversation. Walk. Mind. Care. 🐾 Oh yes, I have 2 huskies :-) Dog walking and minding is my full-time profession not a side job or a favour. I'm available Monday to Friday throughout the day, with weekend availability on request. I keep my numbers deliberately small so every dog in my care gets proper time and attention, not a slot in an overcrowded diary. Walks are planned around your dog's individual needs not a fixed conveyor belt. Your dog's safety is built into everything I do. I'm a qualified canine first aider so if anything happens on a walk or during minding, I respond correctly and calmly. I'm also IMDT Level 3 qualified, which means I read dogs properly - stress signals, body language, thresholds - before anything becomes a problem. I have two dogs of my own - 2 amazing huskies - who are calm, well socialised and excellent company. My outdoor space is fully enclosed and secure. Every session comes with updates and photos - you'll always know exactly how your dog is doing.
About: Hi, I’m Em! I live by the sea with my incredibly sweet and friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Olive. I can offer you the kind of care I provide my own dog - which is kind, patient, fun and responsible! I have completed a Canine Emergency Response course and carry a dog first aid kit with me when not at home, and have been able to help other people’s dogs in a crisis. I am calm, caring and vigilant. I will treat every dog as the wonderful unique characters they are, taking the time to get to know them and respecting their preferences. I am a good communicator and will be as flexible and helpful as I possibly can. I want you and your dog(s) to have a great experience so that they bound up to me in excitement - that’s what makes it worthwhile! I work from home most of the week and usually have quite a bit of flexibility to work around your needs… Weekends are also possible with notice! In front of my house is a big lovely park, and behind my house is the beach - a doggie heaven! Inside my house there are some stairs to get up (I can carry dogs under 10kg if needed) and then my house is free for the dogs to explore. I have it set up so there are no plants or items that can be chewed, and I have an abundance of dog beds and toys. The dogs are welcome on my sofas and beds as they wish, and I have a shower and bathtub with specialist dog products should they need a refresh! I have cooling fans and open the balcony doors in the summer, and in the winter I have heated blankets and heaters. There are high quality treats should they be allowed - but will follow any instructions for feeding carefully. I provide toilet breaks and walk my own dog 4 times a day (20+ mins a time) which is roughly every 5 hours, but I can adapt to another dogs routine if needed!
“I'm so pleased with the care that Amber took of Mog. I felt so reassured and would definitely book with her again. Mog was well looked after and fussed over with lots of nice photos and updates. The area that Mog uses in the kitchen was also nice and clean and tidy.”

About: I've looked after friends and families dogs whilst they are away on holiday, I used to walk my neighbours dog as young as 8. I lived in Australia for a year on a farm and always helped out with the animals and would love spending time with the working dogs. I currently work from home except for Thursday's. However, if your dog doesn't like to be left then I could potentially be able to work from home on that day if required but this would need to be confirmed during booking as id need to give my work notice and make sure this is ok. I currently don't have any pets, I am happy to come to your home and look after them or take them for walks/check in/ feed them. Also happy to do over night stays.
About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs of all kinds – from energetic Springer Spaniels and loyal German Shepherds to gentle Labradoodles and mixed breeds. Caring for dogs has always been a big part of my life, and over the years I’ve gained experience with everything from playful puppies to older dogs who need a bit of extra care and patience. I’ve also looked after friends’ pets, including a Romanian rescue dog who needed reassurance and structure, and several house cats who enjoy company, playtime, and a watchful eye to keep them safely indoors. I currently have two senior dogs of my own, so I’m experienced with administering medication, gentle grooming, claw trimming, bathing, and soothing massages for joint comfort. I always aim to provide calm, loving, and reliable care — treating every animal as if they were my own. I currently work part time at a café, and my days there can vary, so I like to keep my schedule flexible. This means I can often fit in dog walks or pet care around my shifts. I don’t drive, but I’m based in Hythe and happy to walk or use public transport to reach nearby areas like Folkestone — I’m used to planning ahead and giving myself plenty of time to get where I need to be. For house sitting, I’m open and flexible, though I do have two lovely dogs of my own, so I’d just need to plan around their care too. I’m always happy to discuss what works best for everyone to make sure all pets are well looked after. When looking after pets in someone else’s home, I treat both the animals and the space with the same care and respect I would my own. I’m tidy, sensible, and always mindful that I’m a guest in your home. I like to have clear instructions before a stay — things like feeding routines, where pets are allowed to go, and any household rules around windows, doors, or garden access. It helps me make sure everything stays safe and secure. I always double-check that gates and doors are properly closed, keep an eye on anything that could be a safety risk, and make sure pets are comfortable and relaxed while you’re away. My aim is for you to come home to a happy pet and a spotless home.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.
Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Shepway pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shepway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
