“Maxine was amazing - cannot recommend her enough! We had a situation arise at last minute and needed a dog sitter.. I sent out a dozen messages to find someone. Maxine answered very quickly and said she was available.. we then had a clear conversation about my/my dogs needs where Maxine was responsive and reassuring. She arrived on time, was professional and very pleasant to talk to. My dog was very quickly comfortable with her and she recapped everything we'd spoke about previously and again I felt reassured. After a few hours she sent an update that all was well and a picture of my girl cuddled up next to her.. we had no worries that she was in the best of hands. When we returned there were no issues and another nice conversation where she debriefed us of the sitting and it was all good. My dog who is fairly anxious was completely calm when we saw her and was even sad to see Maxine go. So again.. Thank you Maxine for helping us out and anyone reading this looking for a quality sitter, look no further!”

About: Since the age of 15 I have been caring for my own dogs. I have had a Doberman and a French Bulldog- two very different characters and both the reason why I have such a love for dogs. I have been a nanny for most of my life and within this I care for their dogs too. I love keeping dogs company, playing with them and caring for them in any way they need or are used to. I also love finding new places to walk whether that be at the beach, woods or playing fields in the area. I always like to meet and greet your dog before booking in because I think it’s important to know your current routine with your dog and get to know what may make them anxious, what they enjoy and anything you think I may need to know prior to being in my care. I am currently available Thursday-Sunday for walks & pop-ins. As from October 26, I will be opening my calendar to full time dog care. Please check my calendar for weekly availability. I will follow the routine you have with your pet as much as possible. I know lots of local walks to Canterbury and surrounding so your dog will get lots of stimulating walks and play time. I have experience with many breeds and sizes of different dogs. I have experience in lead and recall training. I will always be aware of safety in the summer- I will walk dogs early in the morning on hot days and always provide plenty of water and a cooling mat. I will love and care for your dogs just as they were my own.

“Beau looked after our very lively and nervous Vizsla while we were away for a couple of nights having looked after him on a few occasions for a couple of hours at a time and getting to know him. Beau is confident with, and clearly loves dogs and quickly developed a great relationship with ours taking very good care of him and of our house while we were away. About: I just love animals!!! I’ve taken care of dogs of all different breeds and sizes from a very young age. I grew up with 2 dogs constantly around and as I grew I gained more responsibility looking after them. Enjoying this led me to pursue looking after other people’s lovely dogs and cats etc. I have looked after lots of animals at this point - including a Turtle while the owners were in Japan! I am caring, loving and provide an excellent service for any animal. I am incredibly attentive and have an in depth understanding of the requirements of different and animals/ breeds. My cat and dogs will testify to this along with all the happy customers I have looked after! Working from home allows me to pay far more attention to pets than I probably should! I work fully remotely as a Project Manager in Canterbury and have a flexible schedule. I am available for sitting through the day, any day of the week and also for over night stays. I would ensure whatever pet I was taking care of received the best and most effective care. To ensure this happens I would have a discussion prior to any visits/ walks to ensure your wants and expectations of my service can be met. Within this I would also want to cover any specific requirement of your pet - ie current commands and training.

About: Hello there I’m Nicola, a caring and highly experienced dog walker/ sitter serving Canterbury and surrounding villages. I only look after solo pets and those from the same household. My 'speciality' is reassuring nervous dogs (as well as anxious owners!) I can be flexibly with my availability; whether you need regular weekday walks or occasional pet services. I work fully remotely so make a great daytime companion (I am a part-time researcher/ advocate for refugee rights). If you require a pet service not explicit on my profile do get in touch, I am always open to new ideas and learning new skills. I have had rescue dogs throughout my life, including "failed" police dogs and elderly dogs. Previously, I fostered Romanian rescue dogs, ahead of helping them find their forever homes. I have cared for puppies, elderly pets and those with mobility and/ or health considerations. I already have some regular dog walking Clients but have recently gained capacity to take on more work (I am new to Rover). I am now also available for pet sitting whether at my home or yours. I have an enclosed garden, and my home is located a short distance from public footpaths and fields. After saying goodbye to my beloved fur-son last year I do not currently have pets myself (still too bereft!) I have a primary school aged child who is very used to dogs of all ages and sizes (but this would need to be considered ahead of overnight stays my home). I have 25+ years' experience caring for my own/ other people's pets, including in their own homes. About: I am very in tune with animals naturally understanding their needs . I am very strong so can handle large breeds as well as smaller breeds . My feminine, maternal side means that the animals feel loved and important, which I feel is needed when they are away from the owners . I’m open , honest and understand the need for communication whilst your pet is in my care . I have a large car , I am flexible and enjoy all aspects of caring for animals. I am looking to give my love to dogs this summer after loosing my soul dog . I am self employed and was going to reduce my summer hours to spend time in nature with animals and feeling free . About: I have volunteered as a dog walker for The Cinnamon Trust since 2017 and have been dogsitting since 2018. I am fully insured. I am canine first aid trained, having completed a course provided by Pet Owners First Aid, and have a certificate in Animal Psychology and Behaviourism (CPD and IAP accredited). I have experience caring for dogs of a wide variety of breeds, ages, sizes, and needs. People often comment on the ease with which I bond with dogs and earn their trust. I work full-time for a local charity, but my working arrangements are flexible and I split my time between working at home and in the office. This enables me to arrange my schedule around looking after your dog. I live in a ground floor flat with my partner. There are no stairs which makes it especially suitable for older dogs or those who struggle with stairs for other reasons. It's a quiet, calm household and we have no children or pets of our own. I don't have a garden, but there is shared outdoor grassy space for toilet breaks, and I am a five minute walk from a large park. Depending on individual behaviour/requirements and your own rules, I'm happy to allow the dogs I look after in all rooms and on furniture. My priority is that they are relaxed and comfortable. I have space for a crate in my kitchen so can easily crate your dog if needed. I have a camera set up so I can check on your dog if I need to leave the house during their stay.
