“Gosia looked after our young rescue dog and cats very well. She took Echo out for a nice long walk, sent photos updates. She fed and played with her indoors. Everything was calm when we returned. We would definitely have Gosia back to care for our pets.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. From the moment we met Elizabeth, it was obvious how much she genuinely cares about animals. Our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after the entire time we were away. We received regular updates, photos, and little messages that gave us complete peace of mind. It’s rare to find someone so reliable, trustworthy, and attentive. Elizabeth went above and beyond — not just covering the basics, but making sure our dog felt loved and comfortable in our absence. We came home to a very content pup and a spotless house. We would recommend Elizabeth without hesitation to anyone looking for someone caring, professional, and dependable to look after their pets. Absolutely outstanding service.”

About: From a young age dogs have been a big part of my life. I grew up alongside my family’s gorgeous cocker spaniel who we unfortunately lost a couple of years ago. This is where my love for dogs began. I currently have a 3 year old english bulldog and a 6 year old daschund who i both raised from a puppy. I have just left sixth form after completing my a-levels. I do not currently have a job but I often dog sit for my extended family’s pets. This has enabled me to gain experience with many different dog breeds, big and small. I currently do not have a job and so my schedule is very flexible. I am available to dog-sit on weekends and weekdays, I am free morning, afternoon and evening When caring for your pet in your home, I sure to follow their normal routine, ensuring that I will feed them on schedule, make sure they get regular walks, playtime, and lots of love and attention.
About: Owned a beautiful Labrador until she died last year . Regularly take care of my sisters dogs who are all little dogs I am a keen walker and can offer this service I currently work part-time as a gardenerand all different hours so I would be happy to fit in pet sitting and dog walking in between my current Jobs I would respect homeowners rules and routines and would take good care of peoples property. If dog walking, I would like to familiarise myself with the dog before committing which I think would be good practice for both dog and human
“Amanda was a great pet sitter and looked after Ronnie and Pixie perfectly. She's really friendly and easy to communicate with and wouldn't hesitate to user her again and recommend her highly.”

“Dana was absolutely wonderful while looking after Fred. From the moment they met, it was clear that Fred adored her, and I felt completely reassured leaving him in her care. She was warm, reliable, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which put my mind at ease while I was away. It’s not easy to find someone you trust with your pet, but Dana exceeded all expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again – Fred can’t wait to see her next time!”

“Hollie was recommended to us by our previous dog sitter and we are so happy that we have someone that we can count on! She's excellent with both of our dogs, very understanding and accommodating for all of their needs and requirements. Our dogs are very anxious and nervous with new people but they felt comfortable with Hollie very quickly. She left the house very clean and tidy for us coming home which we really appreciated. She is flexible and very quick to respond, dropping in to look after our dogs with very little notice. We couldn't ask for anything more in a dog sitter! Everyone should be booking her (but please not everyone as we want her to be available for us too).”

“Punctual, Friendly and great with my dog. Gave her a lovely walk and her dinner and was flexible regarding the time we returned although we we got back on time. Would book again .”

“Colin was amazing with my two boys. He spent the weekend at our home while we went away, provided us with photo updates of the dogs having the best time. I don’t think they even missed us as they got so much attention from Colin. I would highly recommend Colin to anyone who needs a dog sitter and woild definitely us him again…..thanks Colin!”

About: Growing up surrounded by a vibrant menagerie of animals instilled in me a lifelong love and deep intuitive understanding of pets. This hands-on background has translated into years of trusted, practical experience caring for the dogs of friends and family, treating every pup with the same patience, affection, and attentiveness as my own. I am currently working part time three days on three days off until 2:30 pm but I am looking to take on looking after pets and my full time job soon I have a fenced garden it’s quite small because we have a large shed and 2 cats. Unfortunately there is no grass it is a patio garden.
About: I’ve cared for animals of all kinds since I was a child. I’ve owned everything from rabbits and guinea pigs to goats and cats and have looked after dogs of all ages and temperaments. I work from home on a flexible schedule so am available for companionship, feeds and walks all day…and even in the night. I also walk on the cliffs, parks or beaches regularly and welcome the company. I have a large fenced garden and home with areas that can be closed off for safety and cleanliness. I believe in positive reinforcement with respect for space and building a bond with individual animals.

About: Hi! I have been walking dogs since a young lad. Currently have my own, and would love to help you with yours. Available for dog walking, especially in my teacher holidays. I currently work as a teacher, so have time in the evenings and on weekends. I have heaps of holidays so I am also available when others might be doing child care. I am a very adaptable person who has lived in different parts of London. I’m strong and fit and can handle different dogs on and off the lead. I am happy to play and cuddle.

About: Dogs think I'm their new best friend. Cats eventually decide I'm acceptable. Either way, your pets get plenty of care, attention, playtime and updates while you are away. I grew up with my doggie, Fudge. She would sit on my lap in the pram, deal with being dressed as a princess through my childhood and be the fur I cried into during the dreadful teenage years! Animals make our lives and we make theirs. Thats why as a sitter I treat your animal like they are my own childhood pup, providing love, adventure and time when you can't. I am a professional harpist so my day involves practicing my music and giving your pet lots of attention and love. My days are incredibly flexible so I can cater them to what your pet needs. I have a large paddock with lots of space for Zoomies, as well as a fenced off smaller garden to keep your pets safe. I live fairly rurally in the beautiful Kent countryside and I'm close to the beach if your doggie loves a swim!
“I couldn’t wish for a better dog sitter for our dog Vera. Charlotte came to our Airbnb to look after Vera last minute, after we were let down by another dog sitter. She really made us feel like Vera was in safe hands. Vera also took an immediate liking to Charlotte, and Vera was equally as happy when we arrived home. Would highly recommend Charlotte.”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs and cats my whole life and have been trusted from a young age to care for pets belonging to family and friends. This experience has helped me develop a strong understanding of animal needs, including feeding, exercise, and general wellbeing. I am highly responsible, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing the best care for animals. I have 2 rescue dogs myself and have helped them build their courage and confidence back up to be able to go on walks with other dogs again as before they couldn’t even be in the same room as another dog. I’m a sixth form student that is happy to help care for pets whenever is needed and pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine, as I’ve grown up around animals and am used to planning my day around their needs. I follow the pets routine to keep them comfortable as possible and give them plenty of attention while respecting their individual boundaries, I’m confident with my abilities such as walking, feeding cleaning and keeping their environment clean and happy.

About: I’ve spent the last 6+ years helping to care for my dad’s gorgeous cocker spaniel, who I absolutely love taking out for walks and spending time with. Looking after him has given me lots of hands-on experience with daily care, exercise, and making sure dogs feel happy and comfortable! I also regularly take care of my cousin’s cat, which I really enjoy. I’m a huge animal lover and genuinely love spending time with pets, giving them plenty of attention, care, and affection. I am currently job hunting so have plenty of availability and can be very flexible! Happy to do day time, early mornings, late evenings & weekends - anywhere you need the help! I have a fenced garden and plenty of room for your dog, I also live super close to the local park for lots of walks!
“Fern looked after Blaez and our household this weekend. Blaez was delighted to see her, they know each other through regular walks. Fern sent lots of photos, video clips and updates. Blaez has medication 4 times a day, and Fern gave this to her. When I arrived home, Blaez was so happy and settled, exhausted from all the fun she had and the house was clean and tidy. Fern had also stripped her bed and washed up. I couldn't be happier with the care Fern gave Blaez, the respectful way she looked after our house and extended her care to looking out for our 3 tortoises. I absolutely recommend Fern's services!”

Hollie was so helpful, I contacted her to help with my mums cats, mum is tech averse so Hollie's patience and communication flexibility as well as popping in prior so mum could meet her was exactly what we needed. Mum was very happy with the standard of communication and care Holllie offered. 5 stars rightly deserved! Thanks Hollie!
Hannah was very responsive to messages, and arrived at the time we asked. Straightaway our dog took to her and she made our dog feel comfortable. Hannah provided a few pictures during the day and our dog looked very content and happy. Hannah was also very tidy and treated our home with respect. We look forward to having Hannah sit for us again

Mounira was very lovely and great at communicating with me. I felt very at ease leaving her housesitting with my elderly cat, and loved receiving all the updates and photos. I'll certainly be hoping to have her look after Betty again. I came home to a very chilled and happy cat :)

This lady will look after your pet like her own, she really knows how to care for animals, she's got a lovely personality, her compassion is everything you could dream of in a sitter and she's super fun too! Could not recommend Urska enough, I know my cat is ready missing her 🥹 x

Suzy is amazing, and I would totally recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter/stayer My dog is nervous and took to Suzy immediately Kept me updated daily with messages, photos and videos, which really allowed me to relax and enjoy the time away Will only be using Suzy as we move forward Thank you
Lydia was a stellar dog sitter for us! My 1.5 year old pup gets a little anxious when separated from me, so being new to Margate, I was nervous to leave her with someone she didn't know. Within the first 30 minutes out of the house, I already received photos from Lydia of my pup cuddling up to her and being as clingy and happy as she always is :). I could not recommend Lydia more, and will definitely be booking again!

Not sure if I misunderstood but wasn’t aware a sitting in our home means the sitter bringing their dog too? In hindsight had we known then we probably would’ve chosen differently. Our pup is maybe a bit too young at 14 weeks to share her space, was quite wired when we came home! Lots of accidents indoors too (from both dogs!) which is frustrating when we’re really trying hard to train good habits into Blodwyn. Faith is lovely though and clearly cares, I just feel a bit more comms leading up to the sitting would have got everyone on the same page.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Thanet walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Thanet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
