About: Hello there I’m Nicola, a caring and highly experienced dog walker/ sitter serving Canterbury and surrounding villages. I only look after solo pets and those from the same household. My 'speciality' is reassuring nervous dogs (as well as anxious owners!) I can be flexibly with my availability; whether you need regular weekday walks or occasional pet services. I work fully remotely so make a great daytime companion (I am a part-time researcher/ advocate for refugee rights). If you require a pet service not explicit on my profile do get in touch, I am always open to new ideas and learning new skills. I have had rescue dogs throughout my life, including "failed" police dogs and elderly dogs. Previously, I fostered Romanian rescue dogs, ahead of helping them find their forever homes. I already have some regular dog walking Clients but have recently gained capacity to take on more work (I am new to Rover). I am now also available for pet sitting whether at my home or yours. I have an enclosed garden, and my home is located a short distance from public footpaths and fields. After saying goodbye to my beloved fur-son last year I do not currently have pets myself (still too bereft!) I have a primary school aged child who is very used to dogs of all ages and sizes (but this would need to be considered ahead of overnight stays my home). I have 25+ years' experience caring for my own/ other people's pets, including in their own homes. As well as previously fostering Romanian rescue dogs, I have cared for puppies, elderly pets and those with health considerations. I am also highly experienced in working with vulnerable people. I hold an enhanced DBS check and my own insurance.

“Emma was a wonderful dog sitter. We booked for for a 5 night stay in our home while we were on holiday, caring for our 2 rescue French Bulldogs. After doing a couple of intro sessions, we had every confidence in her, and we weren't wrong. The dogs were unsettled by the change, only 2 months after we adopted them. We had builders in. One of the dogs has a medication regime and both dogs have personal care regimes to be followed. The dogs challenged Emma with chewing things in the first couple of days, and she took absolutely everything in her stride. She sent us photos, looked after the house, left it clean and tidy and had even stripped her bed when we got home! We can see for ourselves how well the dogs look, so we know Emma has really looked after them with their cleaning and medication. We'd have Emma in the home again without hesitation, and recommend her highly to others.”

Durga was on time, reliable and followed our instructions. Our dog has a few quirks and needs due to her anxiety and several surgeries when she was young; none of them phased Durga. Both Angel and our cat Charlie were extremely happy with her while we were away and Durga kept us up to date with photos and information on how they were. About: I have helped take care of friends cats and dogs for years, alongside taking dogs out for daily walks while at university. I am extremely reliable and caring and happy to help with any age or size of furry friend! I currently work full time however work from home some days in which I would be available for all services as well as being available evenings and weekends. I will follow any rules for your pet that you wish and ensure that they are only taken to safe areas. I am happy to help with any care other than walking and sitting that may be needed also.
