My dog Maisie was with Tamsin for 3 nights. When I picked Maisie up , Tamsin said that she had no problem with her for those few days whatsoever. Tamsin, seems to be a natural in looking after animals. After I took Maisie home, she settled back immediately. So that confirms to me that she was very well for in Tamsin’s home. I have no hesitation in recommending Tamsin to any dog owner whatsoever. I certainly will be using her in the future, that’s if she isn’t booked up of course. Kind regards, James.

About: I have been fostering dogs, old, young, and sick for 5 years. We adopted our lurcher 2 years ago. He is a playful 2 year old, so I need to use treats/ and discipline quite a lot. I have had dogs growing up, and just love to be around all types of dog. I’m at home most of the time. Not currently back at work after maternity leave. I take my dog out at least once a day. So can fit something in most days! I have a fully fenced garden and gate. The house is open plan, however if you need your dog cornered off or my dog cornered off we have baby gates everywhere to help with that.

Thank you for agreeing to have Chloe, Sophie. I could not believe how quickly she settled in with you and your family. Warm, friendly, comfortable environment. If Chloe could talk she would say it was like a home from home. From the regular updates that we received she looked happy and content. I will use Sophie again and would have no hesitation in recommending her to friends. Thank you again!!

Kerry and her partner were nothing short of incredible! Rory had the best time with lots of snuggles and enrichment activities. With it being so warm Kerry made sure to keep all the doggies in her care safe at all times and walked Rory at times where it was safest for him! We got updated throughout the day so we could keep up with what they were doing and we were never felt uncertain of where he was or what he was up to. Kerry also accompanied Rory to our wedding and was a brilliant chaperone to him! Kept him hydrated and in the shade so he could perform his best for the photos! Kerry, you are amazing! Thank you so much for looking after our little boy 🥰

I would definitely recommend Helen she was so lovely and looked after my puppy Ted while I attended my daughter’s wedding. I didn’t have to worry about Ted after meeting Helen and her lovely dog Boycie. It was lovely that Helen and her Husband had looked after Ted so well. Even letting Ted sleep on their bed. I will definitely be booking Helen again. Thank you Helen

About: I live in a basement flat that leads out on to the fenced garden. I work from home and often take breaks to let my dog out / go for walks in the park or beach. I have a 2.5yr old spaniel (neutered) who gets on with all dogs and is keen to play but will also happily chill if the other dog isn’t bothered. Always grown up with dogs and had a few myself Work full time at home. I do go into London some days but I have a partner who’s home on those days with my dog. I have autonomy in my job to take breaks often and go for toilet breaks and a long walk during lunch. Front door opens onto decent sized fenced back garden. Local to Radnor park and the sea front. My dog is super friendly & neutered so not territorial. He’s very happy to have friends to play with

Jazz is wonderfully down-to-earth, and her experience, attentiveness, and genuine care are clear from the moment you meet her. We were initially anxious, as Murphy had only ever stayed with family before, but she looked after him so well that he didn’t seem to miss us at all. As this was a first meet, we were offered a meet-and-greet prior to booking which was a great way to have our dog get a feel for the environment beforehand. She followed his routine closely and kept us regularly updated with messages and photos, which made a huge difference in putting our minds at ease. It’s such a relief to know we can leave Murphy in a safe, loving home environment. We highly recommend Jazz to anyone looking for dog boarding. Thanks again Jazz, we look forward to next time!

About: Having grown up with Great Danes and Pointers my husband has always been a keen dog lover and we got our first family dog, Scout, a Springador, nearly 5 years ago. He is a lovely natured dog that loves company and so we often found ourselves looking after friends and families dogs as well. I am now fully insured to offer a home away from home doggy retreat so that you can enjoy your precious time away knowing that your fur baby is well looked after and enjoying their own little holiday in a loving and homely environment. If you would like, I am to send photos and updates to you during your time away so that you have full peace of mind and can see what your pooch is getting up to! I work part time from home so I'm always on hand to give attentive care to your little fur baby and they will never be left on their own. Limitless fresh air and cosy evening snuggles will be available! I aim to give your dog a home from home experience... if they sleep on your bed, they sleep on mine! Everything will be bespoke to their preferences, which I will discuss with you in detail before their arrival. I want your doggy to feel like they've had a holiday and can't wait to come back again!

Delphine was great, literally save us from a 8 hours trip to take my baby to my local cattery, as he couldn't go with us in the shuttle. She kept him until someone to pick him up and taking him to were he is staying. Lovely person and her kitty was very friendly with my old baby. Totally recommend.

This was Barney's second stay with Christine, and he was very happy to get to her house, and made himself straight at home! He has clearly had a lovely time, and is tired out from all the fun he has had with her! Highly recommended and I wouldn't hesitate to ask her to look after him again.

Very adaptable on all days. I treat any pet how I treat my own. I love to walk so would always be out and about. Lots of cuddles and attention. Happy to have the dog on the sofa under a blanket. Spacious flat for the dog to be on their bed/blanket etc in our bedroom. Lots of room to play games and equally relax.

I used Olivia and late notice, I wasn’t planning on leaving my dog with anyone but I did not have the right documentation to travel abroad with her. I was nervous leaving her with a stranger but the moment I saw her eyes light up to see my dog her clear warmth for dogs radiating and I instantly at ease. She kept me update every day with my dog which filled me with even more ease, so much so I had no fear or worries at all and I could enjoy my snowboarding trip in peace. If she lived closer to me I used her every single time.

About: Hey, my name is Jay. I have a Black Lab called Mabel and a German Shep called Martha. Both of whom are well behaved and trained myself / in training. I offer a variety of services and am blessed to have lot's of facilities to my, and your pet's, advantage. Including a Land Rover kitted out for transport should it be required, as well as a stunning location based at the bottom of the White Cliffs of Dover allowing for lot's of walks along the cliffs, into the fields or along the beach and even a swim! Alternatively we can go directly into town. My property is also big enough to have a very private garden with 6+ foot walls surrounding the place ensuring it is very secure. I also house a parrot, variety of fish and in the past have had multiple hamsters and too many guinea pigs and rabbits to count! I love animals and would be honoured to take care of yours! P.S - as a bonus I provide quality photography of your pet if requested, free of charge! Just a little extra for booking with me. You can see some of my imagery on my profile! :) I’ve recently taken a significant amount of time away from my regular work to care for my own dogs and dedicate my time fully to animal care. This means I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pet my full attention, day or night, alongside my own animals. I provide a safe, structured, and highly attentive environment for every pet in my care, whether in my own home or the owner’s home. At my home, pets are looked after in a secure property with a large private garden enclosed by 6+ foot walls, ensuring safety at all times. Dogs are never left unattended for long periods, and I am able to give them constant supervision and interaction throughout the day. They have access to regular walks tailored to their needs, including local field walks, coastal walks along the White Cliffs of Dover, and beach outings where appropriate. I also ensure they have a calm space to rest and settle comfortably inside the home. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I maintain their usual routine as closely as possible to reduce stress and keep them comfortable in familiar surroundings. This includes feeding schedules, exercise routines, playtime, medication if required, and plenty of companionship. Across all services, I prioritise safety, consistency, and individual attention. I have experience with a range of animals and treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they are well cared for, stimulated, and happy throughout my time with them.

This was the first time we have left Willow with someone overnight as we had to travel away for a family event. Sophie was very pleasant and kept us up to date with photos and messages. Willow was totally relaxed within minutes of us leaving her and was very well looked after throughout her stay. We are so happy to have found Sophie and her family and would most definitely recommend her and would most definitely book with her again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
