We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.

I’m so grateful to have found Daria and to have someone I completely trust with my dog, Archie. From the moment we met, she put me at ease, she really understands dogs and knew exactly how to help Archie feel comfortable when he was a little nervous. She kept me updated every day with lovely photos and videos, which meant so much. Archie was so happy with her; he was safe, well cared for, and clearly relaxed and content. I honestly couldn’t recommend Daria more. Thank you so much for looking after Archie—I’ll definitely be booking with you again! xx

Max had a fantastic time staying with Kevin, Denise and their lovely children for the week. He was given all the attention, exercise and time to play that he needed and is used to. We got regular updates, photos and videos that showed us how he was getting on and what he was up to which was really helpful. They were considerate to our instructions and wishes in regards to Max's routine and needs which was highly appreciated. All in all a very successful stay. Would definitely recommend! 😁👍

Natalia is amazing, I knew the moment I met her that she was the right person to take care of my dog, you can see she loves animals and she instantly bonded with Rowan. I had regular updates through pictures and when I collected my dog I could tell that she had been looked after. Should the need arise I will be using Natalia again. 🙂

Snoop had THE BEST week with Chloe, Lucie & Willow 💖 (and loved meeting other new friends too!) He can be a bit of a handful & overexcitable when he’s out on the lead but they were so patient with him and not phased by this at all, and they have done so much with him - lots of walks & various outings (including the zoo!!!), as well as lots of cuddles 🥰 Communication was fab and all documented amazingly with photos, videos & pupdates which gave us the ultimate reassurance that he’s been so well cared for while we’ve been away! A million percent recommend for your fur baby to have their own holiday adventure! 🐾 xx

About: We’re a friendly, dog-loving family offering a safe, spacious and genuinely homely place for small and medium-sized dogs to stay. We have been pet owners in our current home for over 14 years, so we’re very experienced in having animals as part of our family. We have also grown up with family dogs all our lives, giving us confidence and experience in caring for dogs of all ages, personalities and needs. We have a large property with plenty of space, including a good-sized outdoor area where dogs can stretch their legs, explore and roam safely throughout the day. We want your dog to feel like they’re having a holiday of their own, rather than simply being looked after. One of the biggest benefits of staying with us is that someone is usually home 24/7, so your dog will very rarely be left alone. We understand that every dog has their own routine and personality, so we’ll do our very best to keep them to the routine they’re used to at home — including walks as often as they normally have them. Your dog will receive lots of love, attention and fuss from our family. We have two teenagers who absolutely adore dogs, as well as our very sensible 9-year-old, who has a huge love for four-legged friends. We’re a family with children, so we’re particularly happy to welcome dogs who are comfortable and well behaved around children. We know how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so our aim is to give you complete peace of mind. Your dog will be treated as part of our family, with plenty of company, attention, cuddles, playtime and outdoor time. Our home is their home while you’re away. 🐶❤️ Care that fits naturally into our everyday life 🐾 Having dogs stay with us fits naturally into our normal family routine. As someone is usually at home 24/7, we’re able to be flexible and completely responsive to each dog’s individual needs rather than expecting them to fit around a strict schedule. We’ll follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding them at the times they’re accustomed to, giving them their walks when they’re used to going out and making sure they have plenty of opportunities for toilet breaks, play and outdoor time throughout the day. Whether your dog is an early riser who likes a morning walk, prefers a little lie-in, or needs several shorter walks throughout the day, we can accommodate their normal routine. We understand that keeping things familiar can make a huge difference, particularly when a dog is staying somewhere new. For us, caring for your dog isn’t something we have to squeeze into our day — they simply become part of our family routine while they’re with us. With someone around all day, they’ll have plenty of company, attention, cuddles and reassurance, with their needs always being our priority. 🐶❤️ Safety, Trust & A Home You Can Feel Confident In 🐾 We understand that leaving your dog with someone else is a big decision, and that their safety, happiness and wellbeing are your biggest priorities. They are ours too. Our home is a calm, loving and secure family environment where your dog will be treated as one of our own. We have a large property with plenty of space, as well as a secure outdoor area where dogs can enjoy fresh air and explore safely under our supervision. We only care for small and medium-sized dogs who are comfortable around children, and we take the time to get to know each dog’s individual personality, routine and needs. We’ll follow your instructions carefully, from feeding and walking routines to any little habits that help your dog feel settled and at home. With someone usually at home 24/7, your dog will very rarely be left alone. We’re always on hand to keep an eye on them, provide reassurance and respond to their needs throughout the day and night. We also understand the importance of trust. We want you to feel completely comfortable leaving your dog with us, knowing they’ll receive constant care, attention, affection and supervision in a genuine family home. Our aim is simple: a safe, secure and loving home-from-home where your dog can relax, enjoy themselves and feel part of the family while you’re away. 🐶❤️

Mauricio & his family looked after our two dogs for one night and we couldn’t be happier. We got lots of regular really lovely updates and pictures of them with their dog and kids. We don’t leave our dogs very often so always have to get a good feeling when leaving them and once we had a meeting prior to leaving them we instantly got a really nice feeling of a welcome family home. You and your doggies won’t be disappointed in leaving them with these guys. Really lovely & nice for us to know we have two sitters we’ve found now who can look after our pups :) Thanks again

Jade was very good with misty sent me pics and updates on how she was getting on. I can tell she has been spoilt, misty has been a bit quiet since coming home but that is due to her missing jade and the family. The only thing that let her down was she gave misty a bath but that was my fault as I should have told her not bath misty as she gets very matted if not blowdryed properly so she is going to groomers today so they will sort her out.would I use jade again the answer is definitely. I just want to thank jade again for taking such good care of misty

First time, weekend boarding, booking with Lea and Lucas for our Cocker Spaniel, Freddy. We arranged for a ‘ meet and greet’ the week before and I was immediately put at easy with their caring manor, interest in Freddy’s welfare and how they could makes Freddy’s stay a good one. Freddy’s stay went very well and we received many detailed updates and pictures of Freddy looking comfortable, happy and loved, which was so comforting for us. It made our time away relaxing knowing that he was being really well cared for and was happy. Freddy’s medication and food was given as instructed and he was given plenty of comfort breaks in their garden- they always put Freddy’s needs first. The weather was extremely hot and Lea and Lucas provided everything needed to keep Freddy cool- A cooling mat, fans and shade, were made available for Freddy, with walks given in the cool mornings and evenings making sure Freddy was cool and comfortable. I was extremely impressed with Lea’s and Lucas excellent care and attention to Freddy’s welfare and would 100% recommend them. We would definitely like to use them again for any future occasions - thank you Lea and Lucas for your excellent care, Freddy, Mark and I were very happy! 😊

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
