“Sandra has been absolutely wonderful from day one. She was so friendly and accessible right from the initial enquiry, which instantly put me at ease. Throughout Miley’s stay, she kept me updated with regular messages and photos, and that made such a difference - I always felt reassured knowing how happy and settled my dog was. It’s clear that Sandra genuinely cares, and the level of communication and attention she gives is exceptional. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommended.”

“My dog seems very happy after spending a few days with Sheila. Shelby is tired and needs two days to rest, which means she had a great time with the other dogs there. She will definitely be back soon!”

“My 1st time using the site, and I was a bit nervous. Ashley was very accomodating, and suggested meeting prior to the booking so I could meet him, and I could see how my dog reacted to him. Which put me at ease. Ashley took great care of our puppy, and sent us regular pictures and updates. I was very happy with the service, and wouldn't hesitate to use him again.”

“Ria and Greg were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Incredibly accommodating (even with a super last minute booking), helpful from start to finish, and looked after our nine year old beagle, Hugo, as if he were their own. Regular updates throughout the entire stay, always letting us know how he was doing - and of course lots of brilliant photos of walks, sleeps and cuddles. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you again Ria and Greg for such an amazing stay for Hugo! Will definitely be using again on our next trip away.”

“Harry was great! Lots of updates and pictures, Pippa looked very relaxed having cuddles and tummy rubs! Thank you Harry for looking after pippa for us, I'm sure she will be back to see you at some point! 😊”

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of a wonderful 5-year-old Cockapoo, so caring for dogs is a big part of my everyday life. I also have plenty of experience with dogs within my wider family and friends and am very comfortable around different personalities and temperaments. Dogs really are like children to me (and, if I’m honest, I often prefer them to humans!). I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can trust, so I’ll always treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. That means lots of attention, affection, walks, playtime and, of course, plenty of cuddles. As a dog owner myself, I understand all the little things that matter — sticking to routines, keeping them happy and comfortable, and making sure they feel safe and loved while their owner is away. 🐾 I work from home, which means I’m around throughout the day to give your dog plenty of company, attention and affection. My schedule is flexible, so I can easily fit in regular walks, toilet breaks, playtime and cuddles throughout the day. Having my own dog means that walks and doggy routines are already a natural part of my day. I love having four-legged company while I work, and your dog will be treated like part of the family rather than simply being looked after. 🐾 Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness will always be my priority. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to know that your dog is in safe and caring hands. I work from home, so dogs in my care will have plenty of supervision and company throughout the day. I’ll always follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks, toilet breaks and any specific instructions you provide. I have a fenced garden for the dogs to enjoy. I’m very attentive to each dog’s individual personality and needs and will make sure they have a comfortable, relaxed environment with lots of affection and attention. I’ll treat your dog just as I would want someone to treat my own — like one of the family. 🐾
“Dolly had a fabulous time staying with the lovely Donna and Neil. She’s quite a nervous dog so we were worried how she would settle but Donna and Neil were so accommodating. Cannot recommend their services highly enough just perfect we’re so happy we found them xx”

“Imogen was great looking after Arlo! So lovely and I felt so comfortable leaving him. He settled well and I was provided a cute update with him making himself at home, could tell he was enjoying himself all snuggled up! Both me and Arlo definitely recommend 😊 he will be looking forward to his next visit! Thank you.”

“Thanks so much Sue for being such a fantastic doggy sitter for our little girls Betty & Lily! We knew straight away how much you'd love and care for our dogs so we knew they’d be in great hands. We loved the pics you sent & could see how happy they were. Thanks again & we will be rebooking for our future adventures! ❤️”

“We highly recommend Vīryanātha and his family. From the very first contact, communication was warm, responsive, and reassuring — exactly what we needed after a last-minute cancellation just before Christmas. Nala stayed with them for over two weeks during the holidays, and she was clearly treated like a member of the family. Between the daily walks, cuddles, and her integration with the whole family (including their daughter), she was genuinely at home. The regular updates and photos were very good and allowed us to enjoy our time away completely worry-free. It was obvious from every message that Nala was relaxed, happy, and deeply cared for — to the point that we joked she might not want to come back 😄. The kindness and professionalism they showed exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, caring, and experienced dog sitter who offers a real family environment, look no further. We would book with them again without hesitation. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Nala 🐾❤️ Erika & Jean-Marc”

“Beverley was absolutely wonderful looking after our dog, Lola. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease knowing Lola would be in safe and caring hands. She was friendly, reliable, and went out of her way to make sure Lola was happy and well looked after. We could tell Beverly genuinely loves animals, and that gave us such peace of mind while we were away. We would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter.”

Lovely lady, friendly, approachable. Excellent communication. Looked after my 5 month old German Shepard x Doberman wonderfully! Lots of attention, and playing. Nothing was too much trouble. Listened to our worries and concerns, took them on board, and sent us feedback and pictures throughout her stay. Would definatly recommend Hannah! & im sure Muffin would love to return too! Thankyou for looking after Muffin!

It was obvious to me from the first meet & greet with Rebecca that my dog felt very much at home with her. She has looked after him twice now. The first time was a daytime visit, and more recently he stayed for 3 nights. Rebecca sent me photos & updates every day, and exercised him appropriately for his age and the weather. He is always happy to see her and I wouldn't hesitate to leave him with Rebecca again.

Luna clearly loved her time with Sandra and her family. They catered for her so well and took her on lovely long walks, kept her cool in the hot weather, and allowed her to socialise with other dogs, which Luna loves doing. Sandra communicated with us well whilst we were away and was always very responsive. It was so lovely to see how much they enjoyed having her. I will definitely book with Sandra again as I have 100% confidence that Luna enjoyed her time with them and know that she would be more than happy for a return visit in the future!

Couldn’t recommend Sheila any higher… 5 stars doesn’t seem enough! We have never left our two Ralph and Nellie with anyone other than family and was so worried about leaving them. They are completely spoilt and Nellie doesn’t even think she is even a dog! They have just got back from a trial overnight stay and I couldn’t feel happier with Sheila’s care. I was a wreck when I arrived at Sheila’s but she completely put my mind at rest and made everything so much easier than I thought it would be. We had messages and photos to let us know how they were getting on. I would not hesitate to recommend Sheila. We can happily book another holiday without any worries about our fur babies. Thank you so much for you care Sheila …… for me as well as Ralph and Nellie xx

Roberta was amazing! She really took the time to get to know us and the needs of our dog, including the additional medical requirements our pup currently has. Roberta was so accommodating and kind, and her own dog is absolutely lovely too. We will absolutely be using her services again.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
