About: We have been around dogs our whole lives and have been helping care for family, friends' and neighbours' pets. We understand the importance of keeping pets happy, safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Whether it's feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, we treat every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Elicia works from home during the day, while Jack works during the day and is home in the evenings, meaning there is usually someone available to provide care, attention and companionship. We already enjoy taking two walks each day, so regular exercise and outdoor time are part of our routine. Your dog would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of opportunities for walks, playtime, affection and relaxation throughout the day. We are committed to maintaining your pet's usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and settled while in our care. We provide a safe, caring and comfortable environment for every dog in our care. We live in a flat with access to a secure garden, giving dogs space to relax and enjoy outdoor time throughout the day. Dogs staying with us will receive at least two walks a day, alongside plenty of attention, playtime and companionship. We are happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs and will follow their normal routine to help them feel settled and secure. We will cater to your dog's feeding schedule and any specific care requirements, ensuring their needs are met while they are with us. Regular toilet breaks are provided throughout the day, and we ask that dogs are house-trained. We will send regular updates for what your doggy is up to!

About: I’ve always had pets in my family home and we currently have 2 dogue de bordeaux’s! All of the dogs we have owned have lived with us until they passed, meaning I have experience with puppies through to seniors! As well as this, I have always had large dog breeds, the biggest being 2 Newfoundlands, so I am able to cope with many challenges our pets can throw our way. I’m a university student currently at home for the summer which makes me perfect for caring for your pets! I absolutely love getting out and about so I’d love to take your dog for a lovely new walk! I have a fenced in back garden and two loving female French Mastiffs, they’re giant teddy bears with no prior issues with other animals! About: My husband and I have been dog owners for most of our lives , we have recently retired so have plenty of time on our hands and want to open our home to welcome dogs to stay with us and our young Cavapoo, Bella. We have looked after friends and families dogs so far which has been most successful. We live in a bungalow in the Rawreth end of Rayleigh and have five foot fences surrounding our (approx) seventy x thirty foot garden. We have a dog flap which gives access to the garden, this can of course be locked upon request. Currently we will only be taking dogs from one family at a time to ensure that your pooch gets our full attention and best possible care. We are recently retired so have plenty of time to welcome your pet dogs into our home. We are available throughout the week to offer attention and affection as well as exercise. We have a secure five foot fenced, seventy foot garden, this consists of a lawn and patio area. Our small Cavapoo will be delighted to offer company to your pooch.
About: Hi! We’re Betül, Yavuz Alp, and Freud 🐾 We moved to the UK from Turkey three years ago with our beloved dog, Freud. We were lucky enough to meet him when he was a 2-year-old stray, and he has now been part of our family for five wonderful years. Since then, he has travelled with us to many places and is at the heart of our home. We live in a house with a secure, fully fenced garden where Freud spends most of his day enjoying the outdoors. I work Monday to Thursday, 9am–5pm, in Rayleigh, while my husband works from home full-time. During the summer, you’ll usually find him working from the garden rather than his upstairs office! At weekends, we love exploring local woodland walks such as Belfairs and Hockley Woods. Weekdays are a little quieter, but the garden is always full of games, enrichment activities, and plenty of attention. We also enjoy shorter evening walks after work. Freud is a friendly, easy-going dog of around 10kg. He gets on well with dogs of a similar size and enjoys having canine company. As with many smaller dogs, he can be a little cautious around much larger breeds, so we always make introductions thoughtfully. Guest dogs are welcome throughout our home and are free to relax on the sofas or beds if that’s what they’re used to. We simply ask that they are toilet trained and comfortable living in a home environment. One of the reasons I joined Rover is that I would love to adopt another dog one day, but for now I need to prioritise my finances and health. On the other hand my husband is working from home and even though he has an office upstairs his main base is garden especially in Summer. We mostly spend our weekends with a long walk in the woods around, such as Belfairs and Hockley. We are a bit lazy during weekdays but garden is full of games. We tend to have 15 to 30 minutes short walks to the shops etc after 6 pm during weekdays. Freud is friendly with the dogs his size. He can be a bit protective of himself with bigger dogs with a lot of barking and hiding behind us😂 We have a crate which is large enough for Freud to move if needed, but not preferred.

Can't recommend Dean enough. We would usually board our dog Nala at the kennels but due to a late notice trip we couldn't get her booked in. Was very nervous of using a sitter initially as we hadn't before, but having met Dean for a meet and greet we where completely assured she would be in safe hands. Nala took to him straight away and Dean was very thorough, asking lots of questions about nalas care and her/our preferences. We had lovely daily updates with pictures which showed Nala was clearly settled and completely relaxed and content with Dean. We had let him know beforehand that Nala has been nibbling at her leg and kept opening it causing this to bleed, having forgotten to pack nalas anticeptic spray Dean took her to the petstore and bought a spray for her leg, Dean confirmed with us we where happy for him to use this and her leg had almost completely healed and scabbed over when we came to pick her up. The care and attention Dean showed for Nala was brilliant and we would be more than happy to have Nala stay with him again, even asking would he be happy to have her stay again in future when we went to collect her. Thankyou so much Dean you where brilliant and I'm sure you'll be seeing Nala again in future if you're available (we hope so!)
Rebecca is great at accommodating my dog Margot's anxious personality and makes her feel comfortable every time. This weekend Rebecca got the paddling pool out during the heatwave which Margot loved (we don't have a paddling pool at home!). Lots of playtime and Rebecca kept me updated with lovely pictures throughout the day. Thank you for being a great pet sitter!
Luna clearly loved her time with Sandra and her family. They catered for her so well and took her on lovely long walks, kept her cool in the hot weather, and allowed her to socialise with other dogs, which Luna loves doing. Sandra communicated with us well whilst we were away and was always very responsive. It was so lovely to see how much they enjoyed having her. I will definitely book with Sandra again as I have 100% confidence that Luna enjoyed her time with them and know that she would be more than happy for a return visit in the future!
Couldn’t recommend Sheila any higher… 5 stars doesn’t seem enough! We have never left our two Ralph and Nellie with anyone other than family and was so worried about leaving them. They are completely spoilt and Nellie doesn’t even think she is even a dog! They have just got back from a trial overnight stay and I couldn’t feel happier with Sheila’s care. I was a wreck when I arrived at Sheila’s but she completely put my mind at rest and made everything so much easier than I thought it would be. We had messages and photos to let us know how they were getting on. I would not hesitate to recommend Sheila. We can happily book another holiday without any worries about our fur babies. Holly was amazing with our 12 year old pug, she was very caring and knowledgeable taking great care of him during heatwave with cool mats, vests etc, plenty of updates and pictures, we felt like Dexter was on his holiday too and we had no worries about his care. We would definitely use Holly again.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
