“Laura looked after our dog for the day and night whilst we were at a family wedding and he had such a good time with her and the other dogs! Laura was fantastic and kept us updated with pictures and short updates, especially as it was his first time away from home. Really glad to have found Laura and will definitely use again! Thank you”

“Kevin, Denise, and their girls were absolutely fantastic! Our 1-year-old British Bulldog, Molly, had a wonderful two-week stay with their family. We received daily photos and videos of her playing, eating, and enjoying plenty of walks. It was clear she was having the best time! In fact, when we went to pick her up, she looked like she didn’t want to leave! We’re so grateful to Kevin and his family for the love and care they gave to Molly, and for giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. Knowing she was safe, happy, and truly part of their family meant the world to us. We’ll definitely be booking with them again and can’t recommend them highly enough!”

“As soon we met Wendy, I knew I would be happy leaving Terrance with her. She looked after him really well and it sounds like he made himself at home during his stay, so he was obviously very comfortable there. Would definitely book with her again.”

“Gabriella has looked after Milo twice and has done a fantastic job! Milo looks forward to going to her house and is wagging his tail non stop when he realises we’re going to her house. He’s settled in very quickly and got along with the other dogs she had at the time. Would definitely be using her services again”

“Scooby had amazing time staying with Ferdinand and family. They all were very caring and lovely towards Scooby. Scooby was well taken care of and had the best time. I felt stress free and relieved every time I received an update. They sent regular photos, videos and updates about Scooby. I highly recommend Ferdinand and would use their care for Scooby again.”

“Natalia and her partner were a very big help with my new puppy. She provided a great service and took very good care of my pup with patience and regular updates and pictures. Thank you!”

“We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.”

“First time, weekend boarding, booking with Lea and Lucas for our Cocker Spaniel, Freddy. We arranged for a ‘ meet and greet’ the week before and I was immediately put at easy with their caring manor, interest in Freddy’s welfare and how they could makes Freddy’s stay a good one. Freddy’s stay went very well and we received many detailed updates and pictures of Freddy looking comfortable, happy and loved, which was so comforting for us. It made our time away relaxing knowing that he was being really well cared for and was happy. Freddy’s medication and food was given as instructed and he was given plenty of comfort breaks in their garden- they always put Freddy’s needs first. The weather was extremely hot and Lea and Lucas provided everything needed to keep Freddy cool- A cooling mat, fans and shade, were made available for Freddy, with walks given in the cool mornings and evenings making sure Freddy was cool and comfortable. I was extremely impressed with Lea’s and Lucas excellent care and attention to Freddy’s welfare and would 100% recommend them. We would definitely like to use them again for any future occasions - thank you Lea and Lucas for your excellent care, Freddy, Mark and I were very happy! 😊”

“Wayne was fantastic with our dog Tyson, he was attentive to his needs and adapted around the May heat wave to looks after him. He also kept sent us pictures and kept us up to date regularly so we didn’t have to worry how he was doing - highly recommended!”

“I had a great experience with Irene as a dog sitter. She was very welcoming from the start and seemed genuinely attentive to Bam Bam’s needs. Her home was clean, calm, and spacious, which instantly gave me confidence that he would be well looked after in a safe and comfortable environment. I really appreciated her warmth and professionalism — I’d definitely recommend her and would happily use her again!”

“After dropping my puppy at Nicole’s, I could tell he would be staying with a family that loves and adores dogs. Milo was so well looked after & enjoyed his time at her home 💗”

“Maria and Vernon were great in looking after snoopy. He was a happy and energetic boy when we picked him up. Maria sent us loads of pictures throughout. Thanks for taking such good care of him.”

“What can I say from start to finish Bilqees has been absolutely amazing, quick and friendly in communication and from the beginning I felt reassured that Ziggy was going to stay in a happy and welcome family home. Upon arrival Ziggy was a bit feisty with the other dogs but Bilqees and her husband reassured me she’d be fine and she was settled in no time and that same evening I already received my first update included a few pics. Throughout our vacation Bilqees kept us posted with lots of great pictures and at the end when I arrived to pick her up I was met with a very happy and content dog. Thank you so much Bilqees for giving Ziggy such a great week, any dog is lucky to stay with you and your family.”

About: Hello! We are Dave and Mateja, who live in a house with a large fenced garden with our golden retriever/labrador Luna. She is our first baby who joined us nearly 6 years ago, but we have both grown up with dogs all our lives and we love looking after them, play with them and take them for long walks. Whilst new to Rover, we look after family’s and friends’ dogs part-time and have 10+ years experience of taking care of doggies big and small. I did puppy school with my first dog Nicky (maltese) over 15 years ago and have picked up experience on teaching and training dogs. We live in a house on a private road, surrounded by trees and a big park. We regularly walk the dogs in the park which we can access from our road so there is no danger of any traffic. We have lots of dog toys (well, Luna does but she is happy to share) and plenty of space for ball throwing. I am DBS checked and have pet first aid certificate, available for inspection upon request. If you’re new to Rover too, you can get £15 off your first booking with code MATEJS98402 I am currently on maternity leave and Dave works from home most days so we are both home to look after the dogs. We do at least 2 walks each day, one in the morning and one long one in the evening. We are happy to accommodate more(or less) walks depending on your doggy’s needs. Our garden is fenced off and because we are tucked away from the road, the dogs are safe whilst outside or inside the house. Luna is a friendly dog who loves playing with other dogs, but she is also used to living with older dogs who don’t like to play that much anymore, so she will back off and leave them in peace when they indicate they don’t want to play. Our 2 boys (2 years old and 8months) are used to having dogs around and are very gentle with them. We are always careful and only let the children to interact with dogs under supervision. We are happy for dogs to be in or out of crate and they are welcome in any room of the house where they feel most comfortable.

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy spending time caring for pets of all kinds. I’m patient, dependable, and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy while their owner is away. I can help with feeding, walks, playtime, basic grooming via my daughters groom room, giving lots of attention, and keeping routines consistent. I understand how important pets are to their families, and I’ll care for them with kindness and responsibility. Pet care is already part of my daily routine since I care for 5 cats of my own. I’m used to feeding schedules, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, giving attention, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for throughout the day. I have a flexible schedule and can provide regular check-ins, updates, and lots of love and patience for your cat while you’re away. I provide a calm, safe, and clean environment where pets can feel comfortable and stress-free. Along with caring for my 5 cats, I also care for my elderly dog who takes 2 medications daily, so I’m familiar with senior pet care, routines, and giving medications responsibly. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, and I take time to help them feel safe and comfortable at their own pace. I always make sure food, water, litter boxes, and living spaces stay clean and well maintained, and I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own.

“Clare looked after our dogs, Rocco and Lenny, for two weeks while we were away, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. From the very beginning, Clare took the time to really understand both dogs, their personalities, routines, and individual needs, which immediately gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear throughout their stay that she genuinely bonded with them and treated them with so much care and attention. We really appreciated her thoughtful approach and the reassurance of knowing they were in such capable hands while we were away. We would absolutely recommend Clare to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and we will definitely be using her services again the next time we travel.”

Laura was amazing with Stwrling we felt completely comfortable leaving him with her. Being a younger dog only being a year old and full of energy Laura knew exactly how to handle him. We got plenty of updates throughout the day and were sent lots of photos and a video. We would highly recommend her. Once sterling has recovered from being neutered we will for sure do another trail

Clare was amazing and so accommodating for my fur baby, Lola! She loved staying and seemed like she didn’t want to leave. Clare played with Lola for the whole time and took her for loads of walks to the point Lola will barely wake up! She’s knackered! She loved her holiday with you and will definitely be back next weekend! Thank you to you and your family for giving Lola such a pleasant place to stay. Highly recommend 🥰

Rolo had the best time with Nicole we received daily updates along with photo's which helped as this was the first time he had boarded away from us. I spoke to Nicole a couple of times and she made me feel at ease. I would definately use Nicole again in the future and would recommend her as well. Thank you Nicole x
Dari is simply wonderful — I couldn’t have asked for a better person to trust with my Luna. From the moment Luna went to stay with Dari, I felt completely at ease. In just a week or two, it was clear that Luna wasn’t just being “looked after” — she was truly welcomed as part of the family. That kind of warmth is rare and means everything to a dog owner who has to be away from their beloved pet. Luna came back happy, relaxed, and full of love, which says it all really. Dari has a natural, genuine way with dogs that you simply can’t fake — Luna felt safe and at home, and that peace of mind was priceless to me. She’s my first choice when comes to leave Luna again with someone. Thank you Dari for everything you done for Luna ❤️🐾

Sukritee was absolutely amazing with my dog. From the very beginning, she was incredibly thoughtful and detail-oriented, asking about his daily routine, toilet breaks, and how many treats he should have, which immediately made us feel confident leaving him in her care. Throughout our time away, she kept us continuously and timely updated about how he was doing, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. She is extremely kind, warm, and genuinely loves animals, and it truly shows in the way she cares for them. Communication with her was effortless, and she went above and beyond to make sure our pet was happy and comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would highly recommend Sukritee to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate! 🐶💛

Loretta looked after our boy Dodge overnight. We arranged a visit before hand to meet, discuss arrangements and see if it was a good fit. Loretta and her family were warm and welcoming and Dodge took to them right away. We were so happy with the care, attention and affection Loretta showed Dodge and he settled well. We were kept up to date regularly with pictures and videos. We wouldn't hesitate to use Loretta to look after our noy again

It was my first time leaving Luna with someone else outside my family, she had great time with Bilqees and her family. They are all very friendly people and they know how to make sure that your beloved pet is safe and have fun. Thank you so much for being there to support us!

Billie looked after my adorable Teddy (pomapoo) for two weeks whilst we were away on holiday. I was very anxious about leaving my Teddy as he hasn’t previously been left with anyone he hasn’t known. However, he loved it there and settled in so well. I received daily pictures and videos of Teddy whilst I was away. I felt reassured knowing he was being looked after so well. He looked happy and was having a holiday of his own. Good communication throughout booking process and during his stay. I will defo be booking again with Billie. Thanks again for looking after Teddy.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
