“Lovely caring service as usual. We are always happy to leave Winnie with this family. It is sometimes difficult for me to say exact pick up times due to the nature and location of my hospital appointments and this has never been a problem for them. Winnie is always well cared for and today was given Milo’s food which she loved, when she refused to eat her own. She is a very crafty dog haha! Thank you Maurice and Frederick, see you again soon”

“I just want to thank Ferdinand and his family for looking after Milo so well. We were completely new to the idea of doggy day care as first time owners and wow did they put our minds completely at ease. Milo had a great day and what a lovely family you all are. We are grateful to have found you and Milo cannot wait to return😊 thank you!”

“This was our dachshunds, Ruby and Romeo, first ever doggie day care experience .. as always trusting someone to take care of your loved fur babies is a big deal . Natalia was amazing with them , she really looked after them as if they were her own. Excellent communication, lots of beautiful photos throughout the day . They both had a great time and are looking forward to spending more time with Natalia, which is already booked . Thank you so much .”

About: I've looked after friends and neighbours dogs for over 15 years now as well as looking after my own dogs, I'm a qualified dog walker and currently training to be a dog groomer and have assisted in many puppy training classes. I can cater to your dogs specific needs and keep their routine, so their stay is enjoyable and relaxing. I'm a stay at home mum so spending time with pets fits my routine perfectly, my children are grown up and working full time although my youngest (17) is at farming college and loves dogs of all shapes and sizes I have a secure fenced rear garden and some excellent dog walks nearby, we're located in Fawkham on the edge of Longfield so have lots of countryside and woods to walk in.

About: I’ve been around dogs for many years and absolutely love their company. We have our own friendly 4-year-old Cockapoo, who is very much part of our family. I understand how important it is to know your dog is safe, happy and well cared for while you’re away. Any dog staying with us will be welcomed into our home and treated like one of the family, with plenty of love, attention, walks and cuddles. 🐾❤️ I work from home Monday to Thursday and am off Friday to Sunday, so your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout their stay. A typical day includes regular toilet breaks, walks, playtime, lots of cuddles and plenty of time to relax and feel at home alongside our Cockapoo. 🐾 We have a large, fully fenced garden where dogs can safely play, explore and enjoy plenty of fresh air. Our friendly Cockapoo will be here for company, and dogs are welcome to make themselves at home with us. We also have plenty of room for a crate if your dog is crate-trained or prefers having their own familiar, safe space. 🐾
About: I am a proud pug mama and lifelong animal lover who truly understands how tough it is to leave your furry family members behind when you go to work or head off on holiday. Finding someone you can completely trust is always a top priority, and I would love to give you that total peace of mind! My partner and I recently moved into a spacious 4-bedroom house in Rainham with a big, secure garden that is absolutely perfect for zoomies and sunbathing. Since we mostly work from home, your sweet pup will never be lonely and will get constant love, supervision, and endless pampering. Plus, our friendly pug Frizzi just loves welcoming new friends over for playdates! 🥰 We offer cozy overnight Dog Boarding and fun Doggy Day Care. Every stay includes tailored walks, lots of playtime, and a relaxed home environment. We welcome friendly, socialised dogs but cannot host cats. Your pup will be safe, happy, and incredibly spoiled! My husband and I work from home alternative days. There is always someone at home . If we have to go to the office we ensure we r back by lunchtime I have fenced garden and a 4 bed house. The dogs are allowed on furniture and in all rooms :) their comfort is our main priority. We want our guests to feel at home
“Alison has been amazing with our puppy Issy. From the moment Issy starts to walk towards her house she is excited and can't wait to spend the day with Alison, her family, also Mabel and Edie her 2 beautiful dogs. Alison provides good feedback and photos of Issy's fun day. I can go to work know that our little sausage is well cared for like she is one of their own. Thank you Alison”

About: I've grown up around dogs and they've always been a huge part of my life. We had a family dog throughout my childhood, and today I regularly care for my mum's three dogs whenever she's away, often for extended periods. This includes feeding, walking, playing, giving them lots of attention, and making sure they stick to their usual routines. I'm also the go-to dog walker for my aunties' dogs, Doris and Bolt, who I absolutely adore. Whether it's long walks, trips to the park, games of fetch or simply keeping them company, I genuinely love spending time with dogs and getting to know their individual personalities. I'd love a dog of my own, but with future travel plans, I've decided to wait until I can give one the lifelong commitment it deserves. In the meantime, Rover is the perfect way for me to spend time doing something I genuinely enjoy while giving other owners peace of mind that their dogs are in caring, responsible hands. I understand that every dog is different, so I'm happy to adapt to their routine, energy levels and any instructions you leave. Whether your dog loves adventures, long walks, cuddles on the sofa or simply needs someone patient and reliable, I'll make sure they're well cared for and treated like one of the family. I know how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, so I'll always care for your dog as if they were my own. I'll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can relax knowing they're having a great time. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as I work from home full-time, which allows me to provide flexible, attentive care throughout the day. I can easily step away for regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and comfort breaks as needed. I usually take a lunchtime walk and spend most of my day at home, meaning pets are rarely left alone. I’m also available for overnight stays, drop-ins, and boarding, with evenings and weekends fully dedicated to care as well. Pets in my care are looked after in a calm, secure, and pet-friendly home environment. I live in a terrace house with a fully fenced garden, allowing safe outdoor access. Inside, I have non-carpeted floors for easy cleaning and sofa covers so pets are welcome to relax comfortably. I am comfortable with puppies and follow owner instructions closely, including routines and feeding. Pets are not left alone during bookings unless absolutely necessary, and never for more than around two hours unless agreed with the owner. I can support some medication needs depending on the type and instructions provided, always prioritising safety and trust.
“I can never thank Laura enough! She’s the best of the best and always looks after whiskey very well. I’m always updated and I’m always being sent pictures of the updates. Always book won’t Laura”

“Thank you so much Lea and Lucas! I loved all the little updates about Finlay during the day the pictures are so lovely! He had the best time with you! You’re such a great help. Thank you again! Sandra Brad and Finlay 🐶”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, so caring for pets has always been something I genuinely love and enjoy. I currently have a Jack Russell called Dexter who is full of energy and needs lots of attention. I’m used to taking him on regular walks, keeping him active and entertained, playing with him throughout the day and making sure he gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. Caring for a high-energy dog has taught me how important it is to be patient, attentive and adaptable to each dog’s individual needs. Furthermore, I trained Dexter from when he was a puppy up until he “graduated” from the course and now 7 years later he is still following instructions from everyone in the family as well as my friends who come over and meet him. I also have experience with caring for puppies and older dogs from pet sitting family pets I also had a Norwegian Forest Cat before Dexter, who I absolutely loved caring for. I was very involved in looking after him and he became very attached to me, I loved having a cat around, from spending time playing and giving them attention to simply keeping them company. I’ve also cared for family members’ dogs for periods of up to 10–14 days on at least five different occasions, taking responsibility for their everyday routines, including feeding, walks, toilet breaks, playtime and companionship. Being around animals of all different sizes and personalities from a young age has given me a genuine love for animals and confidence in caring for them. I am currently in my summer holidays waiting to go off to university at the start of October, meaning i’ve got a lot of free time on my hands especially in September, I am free anytime and happy to work around customer schedules, I have lots of experience with all different types of pets and i’m not put off by much. When i do go off for uni i’ll be located in Brighton but still back often especially in summer holidays where families tend to go away. Regardless I'm a short drive away from my house and happy to pop back home to help owners when needed I am unable to take care of pets in my own home as my dog does have anxiety and doesn’t get on with all pets, so there’s no way to know who he will get on with, but i’m happy to offer pet sitting in the owners home, as well as lots of fun walks, play dates and popping in to check on pets where needed. I do drive so it’s not a haste to pop by serval times a day when not spending the night

About: Hi! I'm a devoted dog owner with a friendly 2-year-old Cockapoo, so I understand just how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet. Having used dog sitting services myself, I know what owners expect: regular updates, plenty of attention, exercise, and most importantly, a safe and loving environment where their dog feels at home. I believe dogs thrive best with family life rather than kennels, so your pup will be treated as one of the family during their stay. Whether it's playtime, walks, cuddles on the sofa (if they're allowed!), or sticking to their usual routine, I'll make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Every dog is different, and I'm happy to follow your instructions to ensure your pet receives the care they're used to. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I work from home, and in between meetings usually take my dog for a walk as my house back out onto a field. I have an enclosed back garden with plenty of toys also for free play. They will also have my friendly 2 year old cockapoo for company I have an enclosed garden for free play and run around. I can crate your dog if they prefer this and am happy to follow any routine or feeding schedule you list out.

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy spending time caring for pets of all kinds. I’m patient, dependable, and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy while their owner is away. I can help with feeding, walks, playtime, basic grooming via my daughters groom room, giving lots of attention, and keeping routines consistent. I understand how important pets are to their families, and I’ll care for them with kindness and responsibility. Pet care is already part of my daily routine since I care for 5 cats of my own. I’m used to feeding schedules, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, giving attention, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for throughout the day. I have a flexible schedule and can provide regular check-ins, updates, and lots of love and patience for your cat while you’re away. I provide a calm, safe, and clean environment where pets can feel comfortable and stress-free. Along with caring for my 5 cats, I also care for my elderly dog who takes 2 medications daily, so I’m familiar with senior pet care, routines, and giving medications responsibly. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, and I take time to help them feel safe and comfortable at their own pace. I always make sure food, water, litter boxes, and living spaces stay clean and well maintained, and I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own.

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Thurrock
We’d never left our dogs with anyone other than family before, so we were really nervous about leaving them for the first time. But Laura was absolutely amazing. not only with the dogs, but with us too! She completely put our minds at ease and sent us lots of updates and photos throughout the day. We initially booked them in for a trial day just to see how they got on, and after this I’d 100% feel confident leaving them with Laura again without worrying. You could tell from every photo that they were completely happy, relaxed and having the best time. Our oldest dog is a rescue and can be really sceptical of new people, so I was genuinely amazed by how quickly he warmed to Laura. Seeing how relaxed and chilled he was around her was a massive deal for us. We’ve never left him with anyone other than my husband’s parents before, so the fact he settled so easily with Laura says everything. Both dogs had such a brilliant day. I actually felt guilty for them the next day when I was working from home because they didn’t have Laura and all the other dogs to play with. I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough\. Knowing we now have someone we completely trust our dogs with is such a relief, and they’ll definitely be back.

Murphy absolutely loved his time with Clare, he’s had a full day of love, play and affection , full on tail wagging and big smile when we picked him up. Highly recommend , we have already rebooked Murphy in for an overnight stay. He has come home a very tired and content pup. Thank you again Clare for taking such good care of our boy :) xx

This was the first time I have ever left my pup with someone outside of her own home and as you can imagine I was incredibly nervous about it. I needn't have been! Emma is such a lovely lady and took such good care of my little girl. She was even kind enough to meet up before hand to put my mind at rest and Erica was so excited to get into her front door the next time! I had regular updates throughout the day and really made me feel sure Erica was being looked after and loving her day! Thank you so much 🥰

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
