About: I’ve loved dogs all my life, spending plenty of time around the pups of friends and family. Two years ago, I met my true dogmate, Matlock, a French Bulldog who completely changed my world. Since then, we’ve been side by side almost every moment of the day (working from home means she’s basically my boss!). Together with her Labrador buddy, they’ve trained me far better than I could ever train them. Thanks to them, I’ve learned to understand a dog’s needs, moods, and quirks. I’ll bring that same unconditional love and care to your furry friend. Since I work from home, I’m able to keep a close eye on your dog throughout the day and my flat has aircon that can keep your baby comfortable all day. I already have a neutered French Bulldog, so I’m very used to balancing daily walks, playtime, and rest. Caring for pets is a natural part of my everyday routine, and I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and included. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with a nice air con. It’s a cozy, welcoming space where pets feel right at home. Just a short 3-minute walk away, there’s a beautiful park perfect for walks, play, and fresh air. Your dog will be cared for in a safe and loving environment, as if they were part of my own family.

About: Hi! We are Marcela and Nick. We are a dog loving married couple, who can't wait till we have a fluffy one of our own one day. Until then, we fill this void by taking care of other fury friends as if they are our own. Working from home enables us the flexibility to attends your dogs needs, such as going for long walks, plenty of cuddles and toilet breaks. I am an early bird and therefore have no problem starting my day with a quick walk. My husband Nick is an evening owl and he usually does the last toilet break of the day along with some good night snuggles. Both of our roles are flexible, allowing us to attend any needs at our chosen time and give your fur ball's undivided attention. Every dog has different needs and routines, so I ensure that this is not highly interrupted whilst staying with us. I try to make their stay as comfy as possible and guarantee they are well looked after by creating a safe space.

I am very pleased with the service Giulia & her partner provided. We have found it so hard to find people who we trust and are nearby to leave teddy with. You guys have such a warm lovely vibe and teddy had a lovely day! He was knocked out when he got home wagging his tail in his sleep he was probably dreaming about his day 🥹 I was able to relax fully and really appreciated the updates!

About: My husband and I both owned dogs back at our home country respectively, and we both missed them very dearly. We had our dogs since they were 2 weeks old, my husband is great at training puppies and I am organized in keeping the hygiene of the pets. I am a stay at home wife, which allows me to have plenty of time to keep the pets well accompanied and taken care of. It's an apartment with just my husband and I, we do not have kids around nor other pets here so the pets will not face any conflicts and have plenty of space.

About: I think taking care of pets are a pretty serious job, cause they are part of someones family and dogs as cats have to be treated with love and care to make your job well. And also it's such a fun activity to do walk with pets. I'm available at the moment to work part time and temporarily these months. All weekdays and if you want weekends as well until 6pm. Preferably not every day, maybe on Tuesday I couldn't because of my studies, but I would love to take care of your pets when you need it. I could walk your dog or care for your cat at home if that is more convenient for the owner, depending on how would it be the circumstances

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 15, as I helped neighbors and family friends look after them while they went on holidays. I grow up with cats and dogs I love teach new tricks, long walks I currently work 3 hours a day, but I have enough time during the day to play with them, go for walks, and I am available for boarding every day, including weekends. I have a fenced garden and an adorable dog who is very friendly and playful, but if it bothers you, I can separate them so they're not in the same space, since my house is big and has several rooms.

About: I’ve been caring for cats and dogs since I was 13, and my love for animals started even earlier. I grew up around them on my grandparents’ farm. I’m now a proud owner of two cats and a dog, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and caring to look after your pets. With years of hands-on experience, I’m confident providing attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s needs. As a student, I’ve built a routine that allows me to balance my studies with doing what I love, caring for animals. I have free time during the day and on weekends, which means I can give your pets plenty of attention, play, and cuddles. Whether it’s drop-in visits, walks, or overnight stays. I always follow the owner’s routine to keep pets happy and comfortable. I’ll make sure they’re fed on time, get plenty of play and exercise, and have company if they like cuddles or just someone nearby. I’ll also keep the space tidy, send regular updates, and make sure your pets feel safe and loved while you’re away.

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs since I was 5 and cats since I was 18. Caring for animals is a lifelong passion, and I believe they truly transform a house into a home. My experience includes providing basic medical treatments and senior care, having looked after dogs with cancer, kidney disease, and other conditions. Charlote, my third rescue Golden Retriever, is calm, well-trained, and doesn’t bark. She’s also comfortable around other animals, including cats. I’d expect visiting dogs to have similar calm behavior to ensure everyone feels at ease. I create a quiet, cozy environment tailored to each dog’s needs, ensuring they feel safe and cared for. If your dog would enjoy a stress-free space with plenty of care, companionship, and opportunities to relax or play, this is the ideal spot! I work from home, so I'll be always around to provide care and attention. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, as I’ve already been helping care for the pets of friends and family. I kindly ask for at least one week’s notice to ensure I can accommodate your pet without any scheduling conflicts, as I prefer not to leave the house for more than four hours when a guest dog is staying with us. I have a small fenced garden where pets can safely explore, but I also walk Charlote daily as she enjoys playing with the ball and running in the woods. I ensure she’s always on an all-year flea treatment, and I kindly ask that any dog visiting my home has the same level of care. In my home, dogs are welcome to relax on the sofa or sleep in my room, but not on the bed. If needed, I can provide separate spaces for pets and have a crate available upon request. However, I don’t use crates unless specifically instructed by the owner, as I believe pets are more comfortable without them. The only time Charlote has been in a crate was during her flight from Brazil to the UK.

She took a great care of my baby Pepper! I was worried as Pepper is having diarrhea with a trace of blood, She kindly took Pepper in and gave the best care! She gave Pepper a bum wipe and provided me a detailed explanation on how his poop was like, which was a great help, and even set the house for Pepper when she dropped Pepper at my flat! Thanks to her Pepper had a fan on and plenty of water while waiting for me to come back. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Barking on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 16,224 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Barking . About 86% of Barking sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Barking commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
