“Alfie had the best day with Martina and Matt! They met up with us in advance to meet Alfie (our 2 year old cockapoo) and were lovely with him. I dropped him off at their house and he was already pleased to see them again 😊 I got regular updates throughout the day and they took Alfie to the park and he played a lot - he was so nice and tired when we picked him up. Would really recommend Martina and Matt to look after your pooch!”

“Paul and his partner were absolutely brilliant and took such wonderful care of our dog Willie. He had a great day and came home a very happy little guy. Their dog Sylvia is very sweet and calm and they got along well. Would highly recommend. Thanks Again, we will be back in touch soon 😊”

“Lorena and Flavius took Bertie for the day at late notice. I was on a tight schedule and they kindly arrived a few minutes early. They were very nice and sent several photos and messages during the day. Bertie seeme happy when he got back and so I think it all went well. I shall not hesitate to re-book them.”

About: I've grown up with pets (dogs, bunny and guineapig) and love all kinds of animals. I enjoy long dog walks and spending time in the nature. I'm freelance designer and might have months off between projects. During these periods I could pet sit full time, and doggos can enjoy my full attention and the outdoors in my garden between walks. I have a decent size fenced garden for toilet breaks between walks. The Hollow Ponds is about ten minutes from my flat and perfect for long walks.
“Elliya was super thoughtful, and Luna loved all the attention. She looked after Luna, and I had a very happy pup at the end of the day! Elliya was responsive and took some lovely pics to keep me updated about the day.”

“Rebecca is incredible with our boy, Nooch! She’s amazing at sending updates throughout the day which we love, and he always comes home a very happy pup. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and kind person to look after their fur baby.”

“Valentina was quick to respond to my last minute request and was great at answering my questions. She handled having my dog whilst she was in a cone well and gave updates during the day. Thanks for looking after her.”

About: With over a decade of dedicated pet care experience, I've been a loving companion to my Golden Retriever since 2009. I understand the unique needs and joys of caring for our four-legged friends. Your pet's well-being is my top priority. I work from home 4 days a week, so rest assured I have lots of contact hours with your dog for any boarding services. As for dog walking, I am available after 5 pm and I live within walking distance of a park. For boarding, the dog will sleep in my room at night and will be allowed to roam the house during the day. Of course, I will bring the dog out for walks in a nearby park. At home, your pet will have access to clean water and snacks (if you allow).
About: Lifelong pet owner (cats since age 5) and experienced dog walker/sitter. I have two sausage dogs, Dorris & Poppy, trained them myself, and I’m confident with stubborn breeds, routines, and gentle handling. Available Monday–Friday for drop-ins and walks. If you’d prefer solo walks (without my dogs), just let me know. Overnight stays are welcome too. My only exception is Monday night unless arranged well in advance. I’m in a ground-floor flat right by Epping Forest (no garden, but easy access to plenty of green space and regular outdoor breaks). I have two friendly sausage dogs, so visiting dogs need to be comfortable around other dogs. For overnight stays, I have a spare room that can be used for sleeping arrangements and for crates. If your dog isn’t crate trained, please let me know in advance so we can agree a setup that keeps them settled and safe.
About: What sets me apart is my experience with both cats and dogs of different ages and personalities. I have cared for cats for over 15 years and dogs for around 5 years, including senior pets that require extra patience, attention, and gentle care. I am reliable, calm, and attentive to each animal’s individual needs, whether that means active playtime, maintaining routines, or simply providing companionship and comfort. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and always strive to make them feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I work full-time, but I work from home two days a week. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to organize my time effectively. My workday starts at 9:30 a.m., so I have availability in the mornings, as well as in the afternoons. I am also available on weekends and would be happy to help without any issues. If I am providing a home visit, I make sure your pet is well-fed and has a clean litter box. I also try to spend time playing with them, and if they are shy, I simply keep them company and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. If your pet stays in my home, my flat is completely pet-safe and equipped with secure mesh screens to ensure their safety. There are several parks near my home, so if your pet enjoys spending time outdoors, there are plenty of places where we can go for walks and enjoy some fresh air together.
“I would highly recommend Samara and her partner who took excellent care of our puppy. He also got on very well with their dog Zoe and they had so much fun together! We got sent lots of picture and video updates which was much appreciated and our pup came home very happy 😊 thanks again! 🥰”

“Laeticia is lovely. She was very warm, arrived punctually and asked lots of questions about Peggy and her needs. Great communication throughout the day and Peggy seemed very relaxed when I got home. I would happily ask her to come again.”

“Giedre was excellent with Jiji! She had a very calm demeanor in all of Jijis excitement to meet her. Which allowed Jiji to settle quickly. She applied all of our instructions and took her to two walks to keep her stimulated. Communication was great with several photos of their day. Would happily have Giedre take care of Jiji again.”

“Caroline was an amazing dog sitter and showed such great care and attention towards Twix. She took the time to ask plenty of questions about his routine, what he enjoys, and any things he can or can’t do, which really showed how much she cared about making him comfortable and happy. She took Twix on a lovely long walk, and he came home calm, happy, and completely exhausted after a fun day with his new friend. As an extra thoughtful touch, she even gave him a small toy. I’d highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a caring and attentive dog sitter!”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Waltham Forest
Everything about doggy daycare with Margaret was easy. She was lovely and calm with Comet immediately on our meet and greet, and he was very happy to see her again for his day out. She even put up with my terrible timekeeping! Very happy with all the updates and would easily recommend!

Antonia was amazing! We met the day before for a meet and greet and then I left Norma with her on a very hot summers day. She sent me updates throughout the day and I could see Norma was very cool, relaxed and having a great time. Thanks so much for looking after Norma, we will definitely message you again soon!

Our mini schnauzer Patsy had another amazing day with Fred and Seth and came home so happy and so relaxed, after another really positive, enriching, calm and safe day. Throughout the day we got lots of updates, including videos of her doing some exciting learning activities with the other dogs, and lots of beautiful photos of her while in their excellent care. All in all another 11 out of 10 experience across the board, we'd really highly recommend Fred and Seth.

It’s been 4 or 5 more bookings with Chloe since my original review - Luna has really comfortably taken to Chloe, it’s super obvious during drop offs; Chloe is super reliable, friendly, communicative and flexible. I also trust Chloe with Luna no matter the weather, she’s used great judgement and still kept Luna entertained and happy, no matter the amount of walks they can go on.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
