Dougal recently stayed with Anely and her family for a few days, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Anely kept me updated regularly, which I truly appreciated—it was so reassuring to know that Dougal was enjoying his time with her little dog, Brownie, and bonding with Anely's family. It's clear Dougal has grown very attached to her, which is incredibly comforting. Knowing he's comfortable, happy, and in such safe hands allows me to fully relax when he's with her. Highly recommend!

She sent us a video each day and Cosmo looked so happy and relaxed. I'll definitely be asking Viktoriia to look after Cosmo again the next time we need doggy care.

Michelle, Comet and Jon were so welcoming to our dog and they showed him a great time. We received plenty of photos and were always kept up to date with his schedule, behaviour and how he was getting on. They took special care of him especially since he can be a little apprehensive and were very accommodating of this. Thanks so much, you three!

I highly recommend Evan and Gorka for their pet care at their home. Toulouse had recently developed mobility issues due to neurological issues however they accommodated him well and gave him his medication regularly. Their dog Hazel was also very sweet, patient and accommodating of him too. Toulouse was treated like their own and adored and doted upon. He has now come home and my family and I feel he is happier and more confident. We therefore believe that they have greatly helped in his recovery and will make use of their services again when away if they are available. Thank you Evan and Gorka :)

How do you know your dog is going to have a great sleepover? Because she was squealing with excitement by the time we got in the lift and she ran up to greet Ana & Joao as though they were long lost family. Winnie had been suffering with an upset stomach for a couple of days but I felt confident that they would keep an eye on her. I think lots of playing and walking and cuddles seem to have done her the world of good. Like last time, I was sent some absolutely stunning pictures of Winnie along with updates on her adventures. Thank you Ana & Joao. If I could rate you more than 5 stars, I would. We’ll see you again soon x

About: I've grown up with pets (dogs, bunny and guineapig) and love all kinds of animals. I enjoy long dog walks and spending time in the nature. I'm freelance designer and might have months off between projects. During these periods I could pet sit full time, and doggos can enjoy my full attention and the outdoors in my garden between walks. I have a decent size fenced garden for toilet breaks between walks. The Hollow Ponds is about ten minutes from my flat and perfect for long walks.

We had the pleasure of having Suzanne take care of our Chihuahua, Myles, over the weekend after a last-minute cancellation, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her flexibility and kindness. Suzanne went above and beyond in caring for Myles, keeping us updated throughout the day with detailed notes and adorable pictures, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear from how happy and relaxed Myles was that he received excellent care. Suzanne is not only trustworthy but incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

About: I've had dogs all my life, and in our home they're treated like family, never just pets. I've completed a number of dog training courses with my own two, and teaching and playing with them is honestly one of my favourite things. Your dog's routine is in good hands here. We do two walks a day, with free access to a fully enclosed garden whenever they fancy some fresh air. We mostly work from home, so someone is always around, your pup won't be left on their own. Day to day, I'm happy to keep up with brushing, toothbrushing, and giving any medication your dog needs. Your dog is welcome anywhere in the house, with a safe, cosy spot to sleep and relax. I've also done crate training, and I can adjust our schedule and setup to suit whatever your dog is used to, just let me know what works for them and I'll make it happen. A typical day here Morning - We're early risers, so the day usually starts with a morning walk to stretch legs and get some fresh air. Back home for breakfast (and any morning medication), followed by a bit of brushing and a toothbrush. Daytime - Since we mostly work from home, your dog won't be clock-watching for the next bit of company. They're free to potter in and out of the enclosed garden, settle in their safe spot, or join us for some play, training games, and cuddles throughout the day. There's always someone around. Afternoon/Evening - A second, longer walk to properly tire them out, then dinner and any evening medication. Wind-down time in the evening with a comfy place to relax and sleep, whether that's curled up in the house or settled in a crate, whatever your dog is used to. Throughout - Fresh water always available, plenty of check-ins, and a flexible routine that bends to fit your dog rather than the other way around. If your pup has a set feeding, walking, or nap schedule, just share it and we'll keep things consistent for them. We're in a house with a fully enclosed, grassy garden that dogs can access freely throughout the day, a safe, secure space to play, sunbathe, or just sniff about without any worries about escaping. Inside, your dog is welcome anywhere and will always have a safe, quiet spot to retreat to when they want to rest. With someone home most of the time, there's constant supervision, so any little issues get spotted early. We're comfortable managing medication, keeping to feeding routines, and adapting the space, to whatever makes your dog feel most secure. Whether your pup is bold and bouncy or a little more nervous, we'll make sure they feel settled, safe, and right at home from the moment they arrive. We also understand that leaving your dog somewhere can be a little daunting and we will provide daily updates to tell you about their stay.

I'm so glad I found Emma! I have a mini dachshund and he's never stayed overnight other than with friends and family, he's very attached to me and I feared he would suffer. I was nervous. Soon as I met Emma I relaxed, she's very sweet and calm and my impression was confirmed by my dog who didn't take long to settle. I'm sure he adores her. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Waltham Forest on Rover is £39.1 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
