“Giedre is a wonderful dog sitter! She made my dog Judy feel right at home from the start. It was obvious she felt happy, comfortable and really enjoyed her stay. I came back to a relaxed content dog which gave so much peace of mind. I'd happily trust Giedre with my dog again and can highly recommend!!”

“Panda loved his time with Diana! She was incredibly kind and considerate towards my nervous pup and gave him the love and care he needed while I was away for a couple of days! Diana was kind enough to send many pictures and videos as well which meant I could enjoy my time away with no worries :) will definitely be requesting her services again, thank you!”

“Lara was so amazing with coco! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Coco! You were incredibly caring, attentive, and thoughtful throughout, and your communication was amazing from start to finish. We really appreciated all the updates and could tell Coco was happy and well looked after. Would absolutely recommend you and would love to book with you again!”

“Jorige and Nix are absolutely brilliant in every way. My sweet girl Biscuit is a reactive rescue, who needs just the right kind of sensitive and knowledgeable people looking after her. I knew from the questions they asked about Biscuit, before they’d even met her, that they really understand and love dogs. They took great care of Biscuit for two weeks, she was calm, happy and very well-cared for. They took great care of me too! Keeping me updated about how B was doing, and sending photos and videos of her. They are dog carers worth their weight in gold.”

“Hannah and Jayden were lovely. Very communicative, sent lots of pictures, very respectful of our needs, and Henry, our rather elderly particular dog, was absolutely fine and comfortable with them and in their flat. They took him on a good walk. Would happily use again.”

“Angela is such a thoughtful, caring petsitter. Loved the thorough daily updates during my dog’s boarding with her and all the extra care that no one else ever offers. Truly one of a kind. Highly recommend Angela and will book her again in future ❤️”

“Thomas took all the time and care needed to meet both my boys, make sure they were comfortable with his dog and also allowed us to visit his home. He asked lots of questions about their routine and was really a calm and friendly energy around them. When I was away, I got regular updates and pictures which was very reassuring! The boys came back well looked after, had LOTS of lovely attention and were relaxed and tired out when they got home! Would recommend 100%!”

“Mochi absolutely loves Henrietta, and he’s very picky over who he warms to. Henrietta kept me updated with photos and messages while I was away for a few days which was so lovely. It was so nice to see Mochi so happy and comfortable when I picked him up.”

Xiaoyi, looked after Bruna for about two weeks. All I have to say is that she did an incredible job. Communication was phenomenal. We got myltiple daily updates on how Bruna was doing and Xiaoyi communicated any concerns or questions she had while looking after her. She absolutely made us feel confident about leaving Bruna with a sitter for this amount of time. We could not recommend her enough and we will definitely be booking with her anytime we need a sitter.

Simone looked after our Bernese mountain dog who has never been away from home. She was very happy with such a big dog and read the signs when he wanted to go for a walk to do his business. She kept us informed on how he was getting on for our piece of mind. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully use Simone again.

Our rescue dog spent 24 hours with Jessica and her husband, who took amazing care of her 🙂 they were very understanding of her needs, which include being kept at a safe distance from other dogs. We appreciated plenty of updates and will definitely use them again!

Ava was absolutely amazing! She took wonderful care of our greyhound, Gilly. Gilly can be a little bit on the nervous side, but she settled so well at Ava's, who took the time to make her feel comfortable. While in her care, Ava sent us regular photos and updates. She even took the time to do a meet and greet beforehand and was all around so lovely. Would def recommend! :)

Daisy was amazing. We brought over our cavalier and 2 cats for a 2day, 1 night stay while we moved house. Everyone made themselves right at home. Great communication throughout. Was so helpful knowing our animals were being well looked after - one less worry! Would gladly recommend Daisy!

Pepper boarded at Brian’s for 5 nights and I couldn’t be more pleased with the standard of care. Brian sent constant updates which put me at ease while away and at no point on my holiday did I feel the need to worry. Brian is accommodating, flexible, friendly and completely competent. He genuinely cared for Pepper and said he had a lot of fun while doing it which was lovely to see! I couldn’t recommend him more and I will be booking with him again in future!

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Ares! He stayed with them for four days and was looked after so incredibly well. He had frequent walks, was well-fed and had plenty of rest and sleep. We received regular updates, photos and videos throughout his stay, which really reassured us and allowed us to see how happy and comfortable he was. It was clear that Ares was genuinely cared for and treated so well. We felt completely at ease leaving Ares with them and would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our boy! 🐶❤️

I feel so happy and relieved to have found Francesca to look after my 10 year old fox terrier, Teddy, when I'm away. I have been looking for the right person to board him with for years. Francesca is such a wonderful mix of calmness, patience and practicality that Teddy's typical fox terrier traits were not a problem for her at all. It was so nice to be able to go on holiday abroad feeling that Teddy was in truly capable hands this time around. Francesca kept me up to date with photos, videos and messages every day which really helped me to feel confident that Teddy was not causing any problems for her. I will definitely be booking him in with Francesca again next time i go away. Francesca, thank you so so much x x x

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
