“Panda loved his time with Diana! She was incredibly kind and considerate towards my nervous pup and gave him the love and care he needed while I was away for a couple of days! Diana was kind enough to send many pictures and videos as well which meant I could enjoy my time away with no worries :) will definitely be requesting her services again, thank you!”

“Giedre has been absolutely amazing with Maxine. From the moment they met, I could tell Max was in great hands. She treated Max like a queen and made sure she had an incredible week, with lots of fun walks and adventures. Max even got to join Giedre at a work barbecue, go art shopping, and spend plenty of time exploring the forest, all of which she absolutely loved. One of Max’s favourite things was Giedre’s beautiful garden. She spent hours relaxing between the plants, sniffing around, and playing endless games of fetch. It was wonderful knowing she had so much space to run, explore, and simply enjoy being a dog. Giedre kept me updated throughout the stay with photos and messages, which gave me complete peace of mind. I came home to a very happy, relaxed dog, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Maxine with her again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of her. I highly recommend Giedre to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy and genuinely lovely dog sitter.”

“Dougal recently stayed with Anely and her family for a few days, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Anely kept me updated regularly, which I truly appreciated—it was so reassuring to know that Dougal was enjoying his time with her little dog, Brownie, and bonding with Anely's family. It's clear Dougal has grown very attached to her, which is incredibly comforting. Knowing he's comfortable, happy, and in such safe hands allows me to fully relax when he's with her. Highly recommend!”

“Marta came across very knowledgeable from the start and asked all the right questions which put me at ease. She was also kind enough to invite me and Romeo beforehand to come see her place and he felt right at home. She also kept me posted during his stay. Would be happy to recommend Marta :)”

I felt so reassured leaving Percy with her - she clearly devotes a lot of time and love to the dogs she looks after. She kept in touch regularly with updates and was so thoughtful and clearly cared a lot about Percy’s welfare. Her communication was amazing from start to finish. Honestly I can’t thank her enough and would happily leave Percy with her again anytime.”

“Hannah is my number one choice for dog care (and my digs first choice too!) She's attentive and kind and keeps us updated. Dexy is really reluctant to leave me in general but is so comfortable with Hannah. Dexy also feels really comfortable with Hannah's partner Jayden which is wonderful as he's more cautious of men in general. I know Dexy is is the best hands when I book him in with Hannah ☺️”

“We had such a great experience with Sue who took care of our cat Ruby over the Christmas period. She was so helpful from start to finish, even arranging a house visit prior to Ruby’s stay to ensure familiarity for a smooth drop off. We received multiple updates and photos throughout and felt completely reassured that Ruby was being very well looked after. We’d highly recommend trusting Sue with your fur babies and would definitely look to rebook in the future. Thankyou so much! 😻”

“A++++++ My dog had an amazing time with Khushmand to the exten that I was unsure if my dog would be willing to even come back to us 😀 Excellent service, very caring and I would very strongly recommend him to anyone who is thinking of availing his services.”

“We had the pleasure of having Suzanne take care of our Chihuahua, Myles, over the weekend after a last-minute cancellation, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her flexibility and kindness. Suzanne went above and beyond in caring for Myles, keeping us updated throughout the day with detailed notes and adorable pictures, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear from how happy and relaxed Myles was that he received excellent care. Suzanne is not only trustworthy but incredibly attentive and thoughtful, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

Laura was excellent. She paid close attention to detail when reviewing the form before the booking and asked all the right questions about caring for Cat. She’s a great communicator who kept us updated throughout, and Cat was comfortable with her almost immediately . We’d definitely work with Laura again.

Seth was a huge help with pick up and drop off. Our pup Summit seemingly had a fantastic time and Seth was very conscious and accommodating of her needs and quirks. We received regular photo updates and it seemed she was thoroughly entertained by all the enrichment activities on offer! Thanks again and we will not hesitate to reach out again when the needed arises.

Sam is an absolutely brilliant dog sitter and I highly recommend him. He is very knowledgable, and asked all the right questions so that he could give the best best care for my nervous rescue dog Biscuit. We agreed on a daily update and he sent through great photos and info about how Biscuit was doing. She was very relaxed and content when I picked her up. So pleased to have found Sam!

Yuan took great care of our greyhound Minty whilst we were away, he was really responsive to our messages and gave regular photo / video updates! Yuan was really considerate and asked about other dogs staying when Minty was staying - which gave us peace of mind. Would definitely recommend and would book again in the future 😊 thanks Yuan!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
