“Nicola was wonderful with our pooch, Dennis. She was extremely communicative before and during, and totally unfazed by his slightly mad flattie ways. We would highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Our dogs, Miso and Kimchi, boarded with Kelly for 1 night. Kelly was fantastic and we are looking forward to using her in future. It's clear that Kelly has a passion for dogs and she quickly built a bond with our dogs and she ensured they had a home away from home. Kelly provided us with regular updates and ensured they managed the recent heat wave well. We would highly recommend Kelly.”

“Anna is a responsive, reliable and effective dog sitter - we had complete confidence in her over the 10 days we were away. She provided regular updates and attentive care for our dog, that suffers from some separation anxiety. Recommended.”

About: I’ve been in the veterinary industry for 8 years now. I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2020 and now work as an established nurse in a busy practice. I have been pet sitting for many of the team I work with as well as some clients of the practice. They trust me to stay in their houses and to give their fur babies the care and attention they need. I have also fostered many of the stray cats we have in practice till they find their forever homes. Skills I can give medication (oral or subcutaneous) Understanding of live stage needs Nutrition knowledge Emergency care Grooming Handling Nervous cats I work full time in a veterinary practice, but can do drop in visits, walks and feeds before and after work if needed. If needed I can get permission to take pets into work if needed too I have recently moved to an apartment complex with large green spaces for quick walks depending on the little one’s needs. This can be discussed pre booking.
“I felt very comfortable leaving Hetty with Diana. She also has a lovely dog so was great company for Hetty. Diana and her husband made sure that Hetty felt safe and comfortable the whole time and I had daily updates, photos and videos. Would definitely leave Hetty with Diana again.”

“A true home away from home describes Chips' week-long stay perfectly. Anely and her family were exceptional hosts, maintaining excellent communication throughout. Chip formed an instant friendship with Anely's dog Brownie, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.”

About: We are an active, dog-loving family of five with a large garden, perfectly located right opposite a forest for endless walks and adventures. Our household includes three children (ages 16, 13, and 8) who have grown up knowing exactly how to respect, handle, and love dogs. We have a deep understanding of canine care, having owned our beloved Staffy, Zeus, for 15 years, and more recently, our XL Bully, Axel. While I recently had to make the difficult decision to rehome Axel due to my daughter’s severe eczema, her doctor has recommended frequent, short-term exposure to dogs to help her build up a natural resistance. Dog sitting is the absolute perfect balance for us—it allows us to open our home to furry guests, gives the kids their dog-fix, and ensures your pup gets constant attention, play, and love. For now, I am looking to host smaller dogs as I transition into pet sitting. Important Note: Your dog must be entirely comfortable and safe around cats as we have a cat (lives outside 90% of the time) What I offer: Decades of Experience: Confident and experienced with powerful breeds, energetic puppies, and senior dogs alike. Prime Location: A spacious, secure garden and direct access to forest trails right across the road for perfect daily walks. Constant Company: With a bustling family, there is almost always someone around to play, cuddle, or keep your dog company. Tailored Care: I will strictly follow your feeding, exercise, and training routines to make your dog feel right at home. Your dog won't just be looked after; they will be treated like a cherished member of our family during their stay! There's usually always someone at home, although there may be times when we have to leave for an hour or so. It would be a bonus if your dog is comfortable being alone for short periods Our garden is fully secured with grass and tiled areas. We keep a tidy, pet-safe indoor environment, though we do have a policy of keeping pets off the sofas. We provide plenty of comfortable dedicated pet beds so they still have a cozy place to relax.
“I was lucky enough to come across Rebecca when my summer holiday boarder due to an emergency had to cancel 48hours before we were due to go away! Rebecca agreed for us to come around on short notice and having told her, that my dog is nervous when meeting other dogs at first, she was super professional when meeting us with her lovely dog Archie. That prevented any potential issues further down the line and I had no hesitations dropping my dog off, she settled in immediately. There is no doubt Rebecca took excellent care of her - she shared pics and comments and went far beyond what could be expected of a boarder plus her updates were quite funny too. Archie was super patient with having another dog in his territory, I could not have wished for more. I will very happily use Rebecca again!”

“Very happy with the services provided. Our Tokyo was looked after beautifully . Regular pictures and videos were sent to us. Tokyo looked happy and relaxed. Will book you again definitely. Thank you for looking after Tokyo 🥰”

“We did a trial night for our dog and had such a great experience. George and Dorothy were so responsive, supportive, and friendly throughout the whole process. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing our pup was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

“We left our bichon Crystal with Jenny for 2 weeks. Jenny is lovely and welcoming. She shared photos of Crystal everyday of their walks plus giving us little updates which we loved. It's obvious to see that Crystal was very happy and well looked after when we picked her up and we were not fully convinced that Crystal wanted to come home with us. Thank you so much Jenny.”

About: Hey! We’re Adam and Priya. The parents of our lovely, adorable cocker spaniel Coco for the last 2 years. We have a lovely long garden, right next to Buckhurst Hill tube station where, as you go to work, your dog can have a great time with our dog Coco and Priya. I (Priya) am currently at home 3 days between Monday and Friday doing a mixture of working from home and looking after my little beautiful (human) son. We have a long, fenced garden with plenty of trees so they will feel like they’re on an adventure all day. They can get to spend it with our lovely cocker spaniel Coco who loved meeting new people and dogs!
“Giedre has been absolutely amazing with Maxine. From the moment they met, I could tell Max was in great hands. She treated Max like a queen and made sure she had an incredible week, with lots of fun walks and adventures. Max even got to join Giedre at a work barbecue, go art shopping, and spend plenty of time exploring the forest, all of which she absolutely loved. One of Max’s favourite things was Giedre’s beautiful garden. She spent hours relaxing between the plants, sniffing around, and playing endless games of fetch. It was wonderful knowing she had so much space to run, explore, and simply enjoy being a dog. Giedre kept me updated throughout the stay with photos and messages, which gave me complete peace of mind. I came home to a very happy, relaxed dog, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Maxine with her again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of her. I highly recommend Giedre to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy and genuinely lovely dog sitter.”

“We will only ever use Charlie to take care of Len when we go away, Charlie takes Len on so many adventures and I get constant updates of him on walks, in rivers or sleeping. Len always has the best time with Charlie and her dogs and always comes home exhausted!”

“Mochi absolutely loves Henrietta, and he’s very picky over who he warms to. Henrietta kept me updated with photos and messages while I was away for a few days which was so lovely. It was so nice to see Mochi so happy and comfortable when I picked him up.”

“What can I say about this amazing woman Angela. My husband had to have emergency surgery and I was so nervous leaving my baby Jax to a stranger but I simply had no choice. Angela put me and my dog Jax at ease from the moment I met her and every day she has sent me updates and photos on how Jax is getting on. Jax is an anxious dog and usually doesn’t warm to strangers easily but he has bonded with Angela and her family so well I doubt he will want to come back home. Angela was so supportive to me during my time and allowed me to extend the stay last minute due to my hubbys recovery taking longer than expected. She is a true angel and an amazing dog lover. 5 stars from me.”

“Emily was superb - easy to speak to in advance and organise our dog’s stay with, Gramps (our dog) seemed to have a great time and Emily kept us up to date with how it was going and took her on lots of nice walks. Couldn’t be happier, will use Emily again.”

“Second time Beth has looked after our 10 year old Labrador x brothers. Could not be happier, Beth is lovely and the boys come home happy from their overnight stay. Would definitely recommend Beth”

Beckie was FANTASTIC! I received lots of photos showing that Griffin was happy and comfy and being given loads of love and attention. Responsiveness was great and generally really happy with everything. Well definitely use again for Griffin, he was clearly so happy there!

Special thanks to Kate who we can highly recommend. Kate and her family were great with our dog Vinnie, it was the very first time we had left him; he can be very anxious but settled in with them very well for the week that we were away. We received daily updates and photos and would be very happy to leave him with Kate again.

Luna stayed with Zivile for 3 nights/4 days. Zivile and her family were brilliant with Luna, she was cared for as if she was their own. Communication was great, we got loads of photo and video updates and Zivile was really flexible with drop off and pick up times. Will definitely rebook in the future ☺️

India was absolutely amazing, I was worried leaving our dogs for the 1st time with a stranger but after meeting with her my mind at ease immediately. You can tell she has a love for dogs. I have just picked them up and although they were happy to see me again they were also sad to be leaving India. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you for taking care of Fifi and Luna. Joe

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
