“Five stars isn’t enough for Charlie and Gary! They looked after Lola, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the start, they were incredibly attentive, asked lots of questions at the meet and greet, and then followed Lola's care instructions. We were so grateful for the frequent photo updates, it really put our minds at ease seeing her so happy and settled while we were away. Lola had a blast on all her lovely walks, and the best part was seeing her bond with their dog, Jenny. By the time we picked her up, they were buddies! It’s such a relief to find sitters who truly treat your pup like family (and let's her snuggle on the sofa!) We would recommend Charlie and Gary in a heartbeat and will definitely be booking with them again in the future. Thanks again, guys!”

“Izabella was absolutely wonderful with our little boy. She showered him with love and cuddles, kept him thoroughly entertained, and her communication throughout was excellent, we received constant updates and photos. We would wholeheartedly recommend her.”

“Katie was great with Zero. Very caring and attentive. She was also flexible with our pickup time, which we really appreciated. We felt completely comfortable leaving Zero with her, and she seemed very relaxed and happy!”

About: My husband and I both work from home, so there is always someone around to provide company, supervision, cuddles, and attention throughout the day. Whether your dog loves adventure, playtime, or simply relaxing in a cosy home environment, we’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and part of the family while you’re away. We understand how important it is to know your pet is in caring hands, and we’ll keep you updated with regular photos and messages throughout their stay. We enjoy two walks a day in the beautiful country parks and green spaces around us, with plenty of opportunities for sniffing, exploring, and play. We will of course tailor activities to suit each dog’s age, energy level, and needs! We have a secure fenced garden where dogs can safely play and explore, and we share our home with our friendly staffy Homer who loves meeting new canine friends and is happy to keep visiting dogs company.

About: Hi! I’m 22 years old and have been around animals my entire life. I have looked after big breeds like bullmastiffs and cats regularly, so I’m very comfortable with both large dogs and the individual routines and loveable quirks of cats! In the past, I’ve also owned and cared for rabbits and bearded dragons which has given me experience with a wide range of temperaments and care needs. As a masters student, I attend university only twice a week, so aside from my lectures, I can dedicate all my time to caring for your pet. If your dog is sociable, I can arrange safe introductions with friendly pets of my neighbours or nearby family members. If your pet prefers a quieter environment, they’ll have my flat to themselves, ensuring they never feel overwhelmed. I’m available for boarding any day of the week and on Mondays and Wednesdays before 11am and after 4pm for drop ins or visits! Your dogs safety and comfort are my top priority. My flat has a secure balcony with high fencing, providing safe ventilation if your dog needs fresh air while I step out briefly. I have a crate suitable for all sizes, including large breeds like a bullmastiff, so your dog can rest securely when needed. For exercise and outdoor fun, I live next to a beautiful countryside field with a lake, perfect for safe, scenic walks. Every aspect of their environment is designed to keep them happy, secure and cared for.
“Jennifer and Ryan were absolutely incredible! They looked after our dog overnight and treated him as if he was their own. We received the loveliest updates throughout his stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. It’s clear they truly care, and our dog adored their dog Aavie. We couldn’t be happier with the experience and would not hesitate to book with them again. Highly, highly recommended!”

“Can not recommend Serena more. After Olive's doggy care fell through last minute, Serena came to the rescue. She and her partner were so extremely accommodating, not only taking Olive in on the same day but providing such great communication and care throughout. Olive can be a touch of a sensitive soul at time however, from the snaps that Serena send over during the 4 night stay, settled in immediately. She made us feel extremely reassured throughout the stay took incredible care of our little pooch - would recommend highly. Communicate: 10/10 Doggy love and Care 100/10”

“Jane looked after Sadie for us for a week on quite short notice after a late change of plans by our family member that usually cares for her. This was the first time we have boarded Sadie in 4 years outside of family. We had a meet and greet with Jane first and were reassured Sadie would be fine. I was very nervous about leaving Sadie but we were kept updated with photos and messages as to what she was up to and she made lots of doggy friends. Would highly recommend Jane and wouldn’t hesitate to board Sadie again with her.”

I am avaliable to walk them anytime I do not have a meeting! I have a fenced garden for your dog to play as well as a spacious downstairs for a bed. I live next to lots of greenary to take your dog out for a run around!
“Travis was absolutely incredible with Bear 🐻 I was quite nervous leaving him, but he honestly had the best time and was so well looked after from start to finish. I got loads of lovely photos and updates which made me feel completely at ease while I was away. You can tell Travis genuinely cares about the dogs he looks after, and Bear absolutely loved him. I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough and would 100% use him again in the future. Thank you so much again 😊”

“Just perfect! I could not have wished for better care for my Lola (cocker spaniel). From the first moment of the meet & greet, Lola felt right at home. Caitlin (and Mum, Fiona) looked after Lola so well - all her needs were met plus lots of love and cuddles. I had complete peace of mind knowing I had left her with a very loving and kind family. I was kept updated throughout and when I went to collect Lola she was chilled and happy and I think she would have liked to stay for longer ... next time 🤗”

“Elisa was fantastic. We trusted her with our beloved Twix whilst we were away on holiday. She sent regular updates and pictures. We could tell from the pictures Twix was having a great time and being looked after. Daily walks and plenty of activity with Elsie’s own dog. We’re really pleased we went with Elisa and the service she’s provided. Would recommend and use again.”

“Gabriella was fantastic. Dolly settled in very quickly and Gabriella ensured that her stay was comfortable and relaxing. I would highly recommend a stay with Gabriella.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my pup. As pet owners all we truly want is someone who shows them the same love, while we’re away. Brego got that in spades. She took care of his health issues and made sure he was comfortable, as well being patient with his behavioural problems too. You won’t find a better sitter on Rover x”

“We couldn't be happier with the care that Basil Boris provided for our dogs, Hugo and Peppa! From the moment we met, it was clear that they genuinely love animals. Peppa is 15 years old and requires a little extra attention like eye drops and cleaning and she was perfectly looked after. It really put our minds at ease knowing she was in such capable hands. Meanwhile, Hugo had a blast with their two other dogs and came home happy and well exercised. We received regular updates and pictures throughout the stay, which made us feel completely connected to our pets while we were away. We’re so grateful to have found such a reliable and caring sitter for our fur babies. We’ll definitely be booking them again in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a thoughtful and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you, Basil Boris, for taking such wonderful care of Hugo and Peppa!”

Serena took charge of my chihuahua at very short notice, I am so grateful for her looking after Lola. I had photos and videos updating me and so pleased she settled in well. Sam and Serena are such a lovely couple and will be definitely booking again with them. Lola came home so happy. Thank you both 😊

I couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter for Dolly! She was treated like one of the family and genuinely looked after as if she were her own pet. Dolly was absolutely spoiled with love, attention, and cuddles, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. We also had regular updates and pictures from Laura. Dolly was taken out regularly, had lots of fun adventures, and came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. It was obvious how much affection and care she received. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dedicated to looking after their dog.
Hugo had a fab time staying with Travis for the night. We had great communication throughout so I knew how he was doing. Travis cared for Hugo beautifully and followed his routine. He took him for a good walk annd regular toilet bteaks and I felt relaxed knowing her was in safe hands. I will definitely use Travis again.

2nd sleepover with Ashley & Layla couldn't have been more excited. Practically dragged me to Ashley's door & squealed until she let us in. Layla may not be able to talk but she made it clear how wonderful shw thinks Ahsley is and this makes me happy knowing that she is having a great time. Ashley always sends updates and doors on Layla nearly as much as I do. I cant recommend Ashley enough and if I cod wod give more stars 💯

Jay is outstanding! We left koda in his care and though we were a bit reluctant (as any 5month old pup’s mum would), we honestly had the greatest experience. Jay’s communication was amazing, we never had to ask for updates; they just came unprompted and we loved it, receiving updates often reassured us that our Koda was not only having the best time, but that Jay also truly cared about making us feel stress free. We will 100% use Jay’s services again and could not recommend him more!

Evelina has been amazing. At the last minute she agreed to take Nula for a couple of days which went well. Evelina then agreed to have her for a couple more days which has been a great help and saved alot of stress. I would book her again without a doubt. She sends photos and videos of Nula too which is great

Theo was so well looked after I’m not sure he wanted to come home! He was thoroughly spoilt with lots of long walks and cuddles. Definitely a home from Home for him I would absolutely love Caitlin to look after Theo again and they would be my go to for Theo whenever he needs somewhere to stay

This was our first time leaving our rescue dog Skye while we went on holiday so we were initially a bit nervous, but Ruby was absolutely amazing and made us feel totally at ease with her daily updates and loads of photos!! It was clear to see how happy and relaxed Skye was so we could enjoy our trip knowing she was in great hands. Would definitely recommend Ruby to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter. Thanks so much again!

Lynn is clearly a dog lover. I have left my boxer with her couple of times and he really enjoys her company and the dogs she has visiting as well as her own dogs. She sends pictures and videos, et cetera, which is all very reassuring. I will be sure to use Lynn in the future and I wholeheartedly recommend her dog boarding services. Five out of five. James.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
