“Amazing! Home from home for our fur baby. Lots of updates with pictures and videos. He had the best time and think he is missing Claire and his new best friends. Highly recommend but not too much as I want to book again and once the secrets out Claire could get fully booked.”

“Carina was amazing with our little dog, she had a great time with her and her family! Good communication with regular updates and photos ! Would definitely recommend!!”

“Such a fantastic sitter and Gus loves his day visits / overnight stays. Andrea always sends lots of pictures during his visits and is so accommodating when I need a last minute sitter. Thank you Andrea 🫶🐶”

“Jack loved his stay with Donna. We were given daily updates with photos which helped us enjoy our time away without any guilt. We picked him up and he never gave any looks wondering why we had left him. He was bouncy and happy. Thank you so much Donna for your love and support ❤️”

“Wisha had a lovely time with Lidia on his two night stay - we were sent lots of pictures where he looked very comfortable and happy. He is not a good eater but Lidia managed to get him to eat twice a day which shows he must have been very relaxed. Lidia was very responsive to all our requests which resulted in Wisha having a great stay.”

“Melanie did a fantastic job filling in for a last-minute sitter change. She went out of her way to drive a long distance to get our dog while we were out of town, and kept us updated at every step. She sent us photos and updates daily, took our dog on outings and to a family gathering which our dog loved! We will definitely be using Melanie's service again.”

“Thank you Yhozmin & Uli for looking after Wilson. The picture you sent across showed he had a great time with you and the family. I would recommend the service to all!”

About: We have had family dogs for the last 11 years, we currently have 2 bearded collies, Merlin (11yrs) and Griffon (5yrs) and they are regular visitors to our new home we recently purchased! There is plenty of room for fun in the fenced garden and other very friendly dogs in the neighbourhood we may bump into on walks. I work from home so there will always be someone around for your furry friend. I work remotely full time, however I have a very active lifestyle and go for walks in the morning, lunch times and evenings. I also have a flexible work schedule and with enough notice can make day time walks work if required Our family dogs do not live with us, they are with my in-laws, however as retired parents should be, they are very keen travellers and we are very happy dog sitters! As mentioned, we have a fenced in garden and lots of surrounding areas for dog walks. I work from home so am around to monitor and keep fluffy friends company.
“We cannot thank James enough for looking after Rafferty. James kept us up to date with pic's of Raff enjoying himself. He obviously understands dogs really well and is so so patient.... we have an active little Jack Russell, and both James and his pup Benji put up with him for the night, taking great care of him and looking after him. I would 100% recommend James (and Benji) to anyone in the area.”

“Lucy was absolutely wonderful with Amba. She kept me updated with photos and messages, which really put my mind at ease. Amba looked happy and settled, and it was lovely to see how well she got on with Lucy’s dog, Babs. It was clear she was well looked after and had a great time. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Amba with Lucy again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Thank you so much!”

“I’ve just collected my dog, Amba, after she stayed with Nadja for almost 3 weeks. Throughout her stay, I received regular updates, including lots of photos and videos which really reassured me that she was happy and very well cared for. It was clear she had a wonderful time. Nadja also informed me that Amba had an issue with her ear and took great care in cleaning it daily and monitoring it closely, which I really appreciated. I would definitely use Nadja again and would highly recommend her to others.”

About: I have been around dogs since childhood and have had a Border collie from a pup up to senior years. I have looked after my Daughters Hungarian Vizsla since he was a puppy and he is now 3 years old, I still have him a couple of days/nights a week since she has moved house. I am very confident with high energy dogs( you don't get much more energetic than a Collie and a Vizsla!😄. I love dogs of all breeds and ages (although I do have a soft spot for the oldies) and prefer their company to humans as I'm sure most dog owners do🥰. I have taken early retirement from a busy office job and love spending my mornings going for a walk at the local parks and woodland which I am very lucky to have close by. I have a good size garden for playtime and dogs are welcome for a snuggle on the sofa with a cosy blanket. I'm no longer working so will have plenty of free time with your pups for walks, play and cuddles. I am flexible throughout the week and weekends for boarding when available. I have a fenced in garden and am around all day if your dog is anxious and needs company. Also have a bouncy 3 year old Viszla to hand for playtime if they are happy to do so.I have a large crate available if this is what your dog is more comfortable using for sleeping and chill time.
“I can't recommend Lisa enough! From the moment I met her, I felt completely confident that Tank would be in great hands. Lisa is kind, professional, and truly passionate about animals. She kept me updated with adorable photos and messages throughout our time away, which gave me such peace of mind. Tank clearly adored her, and it was evident that she took the time to bond with him and was very sympathetic to his injury, issuing medication when required. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and I’ll absolutely be booking Lisa again in the future. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares for your pet, Lisa is the one! 5 stars without a doubt! Thank you!! X”

“My dog had a great time with Bea. I received regular updates and the communication was great. Lovely family environment, nice house & garden and their dog Luna is super friendly too. Thanks again Bea & family!”

Nutmeg had a lovely stay with Demitria and her family! She was very easy to communicate with before and during the stay, and we really appreciate the flexibility with drop off and pick up times. We'll definitely book again. And thank you for helping us out at such short notice!

100% recommend!! What a fantastic couple couldnt of wished for a better stay for my dog. Every need for my dog was met with ease not a worry from me as we had beautiful photos of him playing with the other dogs boarding, out on walks and even chilling in their garden. Even in this heat he was happy and spoiled. This was my very first experience leaving my dog through ROVER and with this experience I’ll be more then happy to booking again. 🤩

Sam looked after my two cockapoos for 2 nights and I'm very happy with the experience. We met beforehand for a meet and greet for my pups to meet Baxter and Sam which was handled really well. I received lovely little updates and photos and would gladly book again. I highly recommend

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
