“Whether it’s a day visit or an overnight stay, Clare consistently delivers exceptional care. Our spaniel puppy Teddy absolutely adored the 10 days spent with Clare. She goes above and beyond to ensure every pup feels at home, and the frequent updates and photos are a wonderful touch that gives us peace of mind. She’s now our go-to for dog care, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Thank you, Clare, for the incredible love and attention you give to our much-loved puppy. We’ll definitely be booking with you again!”

“Lily and family was amazing with my pooch. Being my First time In leaving my baby I was very nervous of how she would be. My pooch settled right in and loved Every minute being with lily. I was updated with photos and walk routines every day and never had to ask lily for Updates. This has made my trips going forward a lot more Stress free knowing how much lily cares and adores my pooch. Will definitely be re booking with lily in the future. Thank you for your service lily ♥️”

“Such a fantastic sitter and Gus loves his day visits / overnight stays. Andrea always sends lots of pictures during his visits and is so accommodating when I need a last minute sitter. Thank you Andrea 🫶🐶”

“Hayley and her family were just perfect for our pup. We have a 3month old English bull terrier who stayed for 7 days. Thoughout the whole process we received many daily pupdates in the form of messages, pictures and videos which made it so much easier. Being a pup he had some learning to do, which Hayley listened carefully to our wants, as well as did her own research to help him have the best stay. As he was teething he did have an upset tummy which they sorted out respectfully and she even did research on the best things to support and let us choose so he got better quick. We have now collected a pup who was cared for so lovingly and has come back more social and calm! He was even given some good bye presents which really was the cherry on top of the perfect week. I cannot express how much we recommend Hayley and her loving family!”

“Thank you Yhozmin & Uli for looking after Wilson. The picture you sent across showed he had a great time with you and the family. I would recommend the service to all!”

“Donna provided Poppy with excellent care. Poppy always enjoys her stays with Donna. Donna is a thoughtful and kind sitter and she is always our first choice when we need a sitter for Poppy. Thanks, Donna!”

“We cannot thank James enough for looking after Rafferty. James kept us up to date with pic's of Raff enjoying himself. He obviously understands dogs really well and is so so patient.... we have an active little Jack Russell, and both James and his pup Benji put up with him for the night, taking great care of him and looking after him. I would 100% recommend James (and Benji) to anyone in the area.”

“Demitria updated us with our dogs progress daily. We had updates including photos. The service was exceptional and we would highly recommend and use them again for future holidays. Thank you for all you done for us ?”

About: We have had family dogs for the last 11 years, we currently have 2 bearded collies, Merlin (11yrs) and Griffon (5yrs) and they are regular visitors to our new home we recently purchased! There is plenty of room for fun in the fenced garden and other very friendly dogs in the neighbourhood we may bump into on walks. I work from home so there will always be someone around for your furry friend. I work remotely full time, however I have a very active lifestyle and go for walks in the morning, lunch times and evenings. I also have a flexible work schedule and with enough notice can make day time walks work if required Our family dogs do not live with us, they are with my in-laws, however as retired parents should be, they are very keen travellers and we are very happy dog sitters! As mentioned, we have a fenced in garden and lots of surrounding areas for dog walks. I work from home so am around to monitor and keep fluffy friends company.
“Wisha had a lovely time with Lidia on his two night stay - we were sent lots of pictures where he looked very comfortable and happy. He is not a good eater but Lidia managed to get him to eat twice a day which shows he must have been very relaxed. Lidia was very responsive to all our requests which resulted in Wisha having a great stay.”

“Gopher is a rescue dog and we wanted to be sure that whoever we chose him to stay with overnight was kind ,considerate of his needs and when needed, would get the reassuring attention, felt safe and got lots of cuddles, he got just that. Lisa’s understanding and patience with gopher made all the difference to him and to us. Lisa is a true doggie person and we would highly recommend her.”

“Sebastian was amazing with Nala! She stayed overnight and really enjoyed herself with his dog Bao, they have become best friends 🥰 They played for hours and Nala had great fun! Sebastian was very reliable and kept me updated with photos and regular updates of how Nala is doing and what she’s been doing. I was able to relax knowing she is safe and happy. I also met Candice his wife who is lovely and you can see they both love dogs very much. Thank you both so much and Nala will definitely be staying with you again soon! 💗🙏🏼”

“Lucy was absolutely wonderful with Amba. She kept me updated with photos and messages, which really put my mind at ease. Amba looked happy and settled, and it was lovely to see how well she got on with Lucy’s dog, Babs. It was clear she was well looked after and had a great time. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Amba with Lucy again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Thank you so much!”

About: As a toddler, I learnt to walk with the help of my family's gorgeous golden retriever. I now live on a narrowboat and move around East and North East London, spending my time walking around Lea Valley Park, Hackney Marshes and Victoria Park with various furry friends, some of whom also enjoy stays on my boat. While I don't have a private garden, I do always have the towpath and usually a big park right on my doorstep. I work freelance from home as a translator, so my day-to-day is very flexible. Whether there's a dog staying or not, my days always start with a walk or a run around my local green space. I love being outdoors so would welcome dogs who need longer and/or more frequent walks, but am also happy to provide cuddles and a calm environment at home. My boat has a comfy sofa and space for a crate if required. While I don't have my own private garden, I have easy access to the towpath and am usually a stone's throw from one of East/North-East London's parks.
“Highly recommended! Otto had a great stay with Genevieve and her dog Ginny for a few days while we were away. Really well looked after, great communication and Otto will definitely be staying with them again in the future.”

A huge thank you to Lauren! After being let down by our original dog sitter, we were so lucky that Lauren had last-minute availability to look after Skye for a week while we were away on our family holiday. Lauren kept us updated with regular photos of Skye enjoying her walks, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. It was clear from the photos that Skye had a fantastic time and was very happy in Lauren’s care. We would highly recommend Lauren and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. 🐾❤️

Buster has been to Isabelle before for a day stay, but this was our first time leaving him overnight with anyone other than friends or family. Isabelle made us feel completely reassured from the start. She has a lovely home, kept us updated throughout his stay, and it was clear Buster was very well looked after and settled. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Isabelle again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter. Thank you so much!

Nutmeg had a lovely stay with Demitria and her family! She was very easy to communicate with before and during the stay, and we really appreciate the flexibility with drop off and pick up times. We'll definitely book again. And thank you for helping us out at such short notice!

100% recommend!! What a fantastic couple couldnt of wished for a better stay for my dog. Every need for my dog was met with ease not a worry from me as we had beautiful photos of him playing with the other dogs boarding, out on walks and even chilling in their garden. Even in this heat he was happy and spoiled. This was my very first experience leaving my dog through ROVER and with this experience I’ll be more then happy to booking again. 🤩

Sam looked after my two cockapoos for 2 nights and I'm very happy with the experience. We met beforehand for a meet and greet for my pups to meet Baxter and Sam which was handled really well. I received lovely little updates and photos and would gladly book again. I highly recommend

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
