Taco had a great day with Clare. Made a best buddy with one of her dogs, lots of play time and a lovely long walk. I’ve already booked Tacos next stay with Clare and look forward to using her dog care service again.

James was absolutely wonderful, highly recommend! James has looked after my spaniel Marnie after we met for an initial meet and greet. He understood Marnie might be a little unsettled at first and took the best care to help her relax with Benji & Taco. James made me feel so reassured throughout the day & clearly has such a passion and understanding for dogs. I’ll be using James again ☺️

About: I've grown up with both cats and dogs, from Rottweilers to Schnauzers, animals have always been a big part of my life. I have looked after friends and family dogs, which I adore. My partner Hernan works from home and adores dogs, he is very excited to have another dog to play with ! Meaning your dog would never be alone. We share our home with little Stanley, a 6 year old rescue dog who is full of love. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is a big fan of his afternoon naps. Your dog would be treated like family and given all the love, attention, and care they deserve. Stanley and I go on two daily walks and he’d be thrilled to have a new friend to join us on our adventures. I am a part time flight attendant, so your dog would be with me on my days off and never alone. I am fully DBS checked. We have a lovely fully fenced in garden and live two minutes from the park. The dogs can have free range around our home, sofas aren’t off limits :)

About: Hi, I’m Louise, I’m the proud owner of Woody, my big-hearted 4-year-old Labrador cross (with a mix of Collie, Greyhound and German Shepherd) — he’s a gentle giant who keeps me busy and reminds me every day how much joy dogs bring. Caring for dogs combines two of my biggest passions: spending time outdoors and sharing life with four-legged friends. I regularly look after family dogs and love taking them on long, fun walks. Whether it’s cuddles at home, playtime in the garden, or a good stretch of the legs, I’ll make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved while in my care. I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and quirks. My goal is to provide a flexible, reliable service that gives you peace of mind and gives your dog the same level of love and attention I give Woody. I’m a stay at home mum so fully flexible with any routine. My children are older teenagers who love dogs. I’m very flexible and caring. We have a fully fenced garden with plenty of room to run around. There is a local park across the road for easy access to walking and I can drive to larger parks/woodlands for exploring.

About: Hi my names Lauren I am an experienced, caring, reliable pet sitter. I have looked after cats and dogs for the last 8 years. I have worked in various Kennels and Catteries since I left school and studied Animal Care at Capel Manor College. I have worked with a wide range of livestock, exotic animals and zoo animals while studying in Animal Care. I offer pet sitting, pet feeding, dog walking and over night stays at affordable prices. I offer a service that gives you peace of mind; I have good friends, family and business clients who can vouch for me and the services I offer. I am happy to meet you and your pet beforehand to run through all their needs and make the arrangements for whilst you’re away. I know what it's like, I wouldn't leave my babies with anyone and I always worry when I'm not around so I will make sure I do everything I can for you to know they are cared for. I will send you updates and pictures frequently and if you would like me to do any general cleaning, take the bins out or turn certain lights on/off I will be more than happy to do so. Any questions, drop me a message😊 I am available for pet sitting, overnight stays, pop in visits and walking. I can collect from your home or you can drop of to me. I will always leave your home in the same or better condition than i arrived in. Your pet will be in safe hands with me and I will abide by your rules throughout!

Laurita took care of my 4 month old Bichon Frise puppy. I literally had my puppy barely a week and needed someone to take care of him for the day because I needed to attend an emergency memorial on the Isle of Wight. He was scared when he got there and I was worried but she put my mind at ease and sent me some amazing video clip updates of him playing with her dog and absolutely loving being there and 100% happy. Her dog is so gorgeous as well— he was like an older sibling. She was also kind enough to give him a bath which I’m so grateful for. He looked beautiful when I picked him up. It is clear to see that Laurita is a dog lover and took care of Ceaser like he was her own. I was so lucky to find her and I will definitely be going to her again if I need her to take care of Ceaser. I also was stuck in traffic on the M25 and was going to arrive late to pick him up but she was so flexible. Thank you so much Laurita for taking care of Ceaser, you are a one of a kind, caring, lovely person.

About: We have both grown up in family homes with dogs, so caring for them comes naturally to us. From puppies to older dogs, we understand their needs, routines, and personalities. We frequently help friends and family by looking after their dogs, giving walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. Having recently moved into our own home together, we’re excited to welcome dogs into our lives again and provide a safe, loving environment where they feel happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. We both currently work full time Monday-Friday therefore we have our weekends free for pet care. Week evenings will also be available on request as well as some day times during the week due to working from home flexibilities. Please message us for more details/any questions We have a fenced garden with a locked back gate, no side entrance to garden meaning no side escape route. Locked front and back doors at all times, we can crate your dog if needed. Dog walks can be on/off lead as per individual request and training of your dog.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - East Hertfordshire

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in East Hertfordshire on Rover is £32.2 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 15,450 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in East Hertfordshire. About 86% of East Hertfordshire sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your East Hertfordshire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
