Karen and her husband couldn't be nicer. We can go off and enjoy a day out safe in the knowledge Casper is being spoilt with chicken or steak dinners. No wonder he doesn't mind going back! Nothing is too much trouble. We travel a long way for our dog care just because Karen is so lovely. Thanks for taking such good care of our boy. 😊

Bruno had a wonderful time with Chloe! Our 3-year-old Boxer (who very much still thinks he's a puppy) was in great hands. She clearly put in a lot of effort — a long, happy walk and plenty of socialising with other dogs made for one very content boy. He came home absolutely exhausted and is now snoring away in his bed, which is the best sign of a great day out. We really appreciate the care and attention Chloe gave him. Highly recommended! 🐾

Dexter can be quite anxious but Sally was very understanding and cared for him like he was her own. We were so reassured by Sally and it was lovely to get regular pictures and updates throughout the day. Great experience and we will definitely rebook in the future.

About: I have had pets since I was 10. I have grown around them and I always loved to bring home any pet found on the street. I enjoy their company and I love to take care of them and give them all the love they deserve. I will take care of your pet as it was my own,so let me know if you need someone to take them for a walk and have fun in the park or if you need someone to take care of them when you are away 😺 🐶🙂 Your pet will be in good paws with me :) I am currently working from home so I am flexible with days and times. I can take your dog for walks during the week but if you need during the weekend I can do that with a bit of notice. I will take care of your pet as it was my own one. I will respect your space and your routine and make sure your dog doesn't feel your absence.

About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and caring for them has always been second nature to me. From energetic border collies to affectionate cocker spaniels and playful labradoodles, I’ve had experience with a wide range of breeds, sizes, and personalities. I regularly look after dogs for family and friends purely because I love it—it never feels like a chore. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, I genuinely enjoy making sure every dog feels happy, safe, and well cared for. My partner and I both work from home, which means your dog will have plenty of attention throughout the day. We’re able to be very hands-on, stick to routines, and give lots of care, cuddles, and supervision. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll treat your dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine as my partner and I both work from home, so your dog will have constant company and attention throughout the day. We love getting out for walks, whether it’s a quick stroll or a longer adventure, before work, during lunch, and in the evenings, with plenty of lovely local trails to explore. At home, we have a large 150ft garden where we enjoy spending time, giving your dog plenty of space to play, relax, and roam freely in a safe environment. Your dog will be treated as part of our home from the moment they arrive. My partner and I both work from home, so they’ll never be left alone for long and will have plenty of attention, interaction, and supervision throughout the day. We keep things relaxed and tailored to each dog whether they love long walks on the local trails, shorter strolls, or just pottering around the garden. We’re lucky to have a large 150ft garden, which is a big part of our daily routine and gives dogs plenty of safe space to explore, play, or simply relax outside. For overnight boarding, we focus on helping dogs feel settled and comfortable in a new environment. We stick closely to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, and any specific needs, so everything feels familiar and stress free. We genuinely love having dogs around and regularly care for family and friends’ pets, so creating a calm, safe, and happy environment is something that comes naturally to us.

About: Significantly more attuned than the average person to the language of dogs and cats, I am incredibly caring and adore animals. I volunteer with Guide Dogs as a respite carer and have had dogs in my life since birth, (my first word was woof and that’s no lie) and then later cats … and rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters and horses. Friends and family often ask for my assistance caring for their pets and I have a reputation for being a dog / cat magnet. I am a gardener and digital consultant, so I’ll either be at home or the dog can come out to work with me if they are well behaved and it’s something they would enjoy. Otherwise they will be left at my home - open plan kitchen and lounge for up to 4 hours (depending on the animal). The day starts with a walk, with another a dinner time. Cuddles on the sofa to end the day. I have a fenced garden with grass, no other pets or children and I live on a quiet cul de sac in the heart of the Essex countryside with walks and fields in every direction.

About: Welcome to my Rover profile 🐶🐾 If you're looking for a reliable, experienced pet sitter who genuinely loves animals, I’d be delighted to help take care of your pets and home while you're away. Below is more information on my experience. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. With 25 years' experience caring for animals, including 4 years' volunteering in a rescue shelter, I've developed a deep passion for animals of all kinds. In rescue, I had the pleasure of walking multiple dogs on each visit and caring for a variety of animals. I regularly look after the pets of my neighbours and friends which has given me the opportunity to build trusting relationships with many furry companions. I've been a house sitter for 5 years and had the privilege of working with wonderful clients through Rover. I’ve built lasting connections with pet owners who trust me to look after their homes and pets, as if they were my own. I recently lost my own dog of 15 years, who was an adorable rescue staffy called Teddy from Battersea. I have experience with most breeds and comfortable with dogs of different sizes, ages and temperaments, including anxious or reactive dogs. I always recommend a meet and greet before booking, especially for dogs with specific needs or triggers, to make sure it’s a good fit and your dog feels safe and settled. Please do let me know in advance about any reactivity, routines, medical needs or behavioural quirks, the more I know, the better care I can provide. Thank you :) I am currently working from home (Mon-Fri), and flexible with work and meetings. For requests over 12 miles, a small fee will be charged to cover my petrol costs. Please don’t hesitate to drop me a message if you have any questions and would like to know more. I live in Saffron Walden and have a long garden in the countryside, with plenty of nearby fields, which I love to walk in. I ensure safety of pets by: • using secure leads • walking in safe areas • communicating with owners regularly • learning the commands your dog responds to • understanding your dog’s temperament • if there are any issues (I.e. not good around other dogs, people etc) • understanding what your dog enjoys (swimming in a lake) and finally, by building a great relationship with the pets and owners.

About: I’ve cared for friends and family’s dogs of all age. I make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and keeps to their normal routine. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like my own. Whether it’s extra playtime or gentle care, I adapt to each pet’s needs to keep tails wagging and owners worry-free. We work from home so there is always someone around for a lap to sit on. Our dog gets a quick walk before work in the mornings then generally we work a longer one into the afternoon. We are often at home or we take our dog out with us to the forest or beach. I have a fenced off garden and stair gate on the kitchen door to stop any dogs escaping out the front door. We are a dogs on furniture kind of home and you will often find ours on our lap!

About: I’m a huge animal lover and currently own a very friendly 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as well as two rabbits, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy and caring to look after your pets. I have previous experience dog, cat and rabbit sitting for family and friends and always treat every animal as if they were my own. I’ve always had a deep compassion for animals, and their wellbeing is always my top priority. My dog is extremely gentle and friendly with both dogs and rabbits, and I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities and needs. I also understand how reassuring updates are for owners, so I always send plenty of photos and messages while you’re away. I’m currently studying Digital Marketing at university, which has helped me become organised, reliable and communicative. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets and make them feel safe, loved and happy while you’re away 🐾 I currently work part-time alongside studying Digital Marketing at university, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for pets. If I’m not home, my partner usually is, so pets are rarely left alone for long periods. I’m available for walks, drop-ins and pet sitting throughout the week and weekends, and I always make sure pets get plenty of attention, care and exercise. I have a very friendly 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who gets along well with both dogs and rabbits. For safety and comfort, I only accept dogs that are friendly with other dogs. My own rabbits live outside in their own large secure fenced area, completely separate from visiting pets. If I care for rabbits in my home, they will always stay safely indoors. My dog is very gentle with rabbits, but if a rabbit is nervous or prefers space, I’m able to keep them fully separated to make sure they feel safe and comfortable at all times. Dogs in my care will receive at least two walks a day, lots of attention, playtime and regular photo updates for owners while they’re away 🐾

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Uttlesford

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Uttlesford on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 4,122 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Uttlesford. About 88% of Uttlesford sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Uttlesford commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
