Nobody could've taken better care of Barney than Liam! He left everything in perfect order. He cared for Barney as if she was his own. I can highly recommend Liam to anyone wanting a cat sitter. I don't think you can find anyone better. I would only leave Barney with someone trustworthy who would take great care of her.

About: I am a Qualified level 2 vet nurse assistant, with lots of experience with rescue animals. My border collie is anxious with new dogs I cannot offer boarding, but I am more than happy to offer to walk your furry friends or drop in for cuddles. I have a lot of experience with different temperaments and also working in a vets means I have dealt with tough situations and bigger breeds. I have had rescue dogs since I was 6, sharing responsibility till I was older. I have now got two rescue dogs one from Romania (husky cross) who has three legs so needs extra support with medication and walks, and a border collie who is full of energy but requires longer walks and can be aggressive to others, I have experience with aggressive furries too! I’m located near Hatfield forest (5 min drive) and the flitch way is backing on to my property so if you’re furry friend is worried in a car, I can also use the flitch way for enrichment filled walks. I studied animal management at Writtle university college, meaning I have lots of experience with all kinds of species, including exotic birds, cats, small animals, reptiles and even wallabies. I have strong knowledge of behaviour issues and special food requirements, I am also confident to administrate medication, injection or oral. I have also trained both dogs I have now, so I’m more than happy to train or help alongside training schedules. I also have a range of dog fields near me, which are fully secure and include tons of enrichment and fun for your furry friends. Im currently working full time in a vet clinic as a patient care assistant. I have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off to look after your furries. I live right by Hatfield forest, meaning your pups will have enrichment filled walks! I’m experienced with all breeds and confident to assist with behavioural issues

About: With 32 years of hands-on experience with dogs and cats — including raising my own cheeky dachshund — I offer calm, loving care that feels just like home. I work full-time but have a flexible schedule, which means I can give pets the attention they need throughout the day — whether that’s morning walks, playtime, or evening cuddles. I care for pets in their own home so they can stay relaxed in their familiar environment. I follow their normal routine and give them lots of love, attention, and care while respecting your space as if it were my own.

I cannot recommend Kiera enough! We booked Kiera through Cat in a Flat to look after our five cats for two whole weeks, and she was absolutely wonderful. From our very first communication, she was incredibly polite, kind, and professional, which immediately put my mind at ease for such a long trip. Taking care of five cats is no small task, but Kiera handled it perfectly. Every day, she sent me detailed updates and lovely photos, so I always knew my fur babies were safe and happy. She took care of all the essentials flawlessly—feeding them on schedule and keeping all the litter boxes completely spotless. What really stood out to me was how she went above and beyond. A couple of times, my cats had little accidents, and Kiera kindly cleaned up the vomit and mess without a single complaint. She is truly dedicated to the well-being of the pets she watches. As a wonderful bonus, she even stepped in to feed our fish! I also really appreciated how comfortable and understanding she was regarding our home security. We have several cameras installed for safety (on the outside corner of the house, the front door, the garden fence, as well as inside the living room and nursery). Some sitters might find that intimidating, but it didn't bother Kiera at all, which just proves how transparent, trustworthy, and professional she is. Kiera is a very sweet, reliable, and hardworking sitter. Her messages were always so polite and a joy to read. If you are looking for someone who will treat your home and pets with the utmost care and respect, Kiera is the perfect choice. I will definitely be booking her again! 5/5 stars! 🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

About: I have owned cats all my life and have been cat sitting for a number of years for friends and relatives. I have also walked dogs and looked after them for family whenever they need. I’m currently working full time however I’m available in the afternoons/evenings during the week days and I am available all times throughout the weekends to look after your furry friends! I would ensure that when visiting a customers house the cat/dog is comfortable around me and will ensure they get lots of cuddles attention and walks. I would not let any animal out of my sight, unless the cats have a cat flap.

About: Any pet in my care is always treated with the love and attention as if it were my own. I have a love of animals and have always had them in the home from a very young age. I've had experience walking both larger and smaller dogs and have had to train them through the difficult "puppy phase", giving me a good sense of how best to deal with tricky situations Im not able to have a pet of my own at the moment, so when I am able to, I love to spend time looking after other people's furbabies to give them the extra bit of love they all deserve. As I will be in your pets own environment, I would be keeping them safe whilst they enjoy their own comforts. When we go out for walks, dogs will always be kept on the lead and under supervision unless you have any specific instructions to better suit your pups needs

About: Hello! My name is Elisa and I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by them and have had pets in my life since the day I was born. Over the years, I’ve cared for many different animals and breeds. I’ve had Dachshunds, a German Shepherd, Yorkshire Terriers, a Pinscher, a French Bulldog, and mixed-breed dogs as well. I currently have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who is a big part of my life. Because of this experience, I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve also had other pets growing up, including a mixed-breed cat and even a rabbit, which gave me experience caring for different types of animals and understanding their unique needs and behaviours. Caring for animals has always come very naturally to me. I truly enjoy spending time with them, going for walks, playing, and making sure they feel safe, calm, and loved while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, so I always try to respect their habits and make them feel as comfortable as possible. My goal is for your pet to feel relaxed and well cared for while you have peace of mind. I would be very happy to look after your pet as if they were part of my own family. I work part-time and I’m also studying, which means I have a structured but flexible routine. I spend a lot of time at home and can dedicate attention, care and playtime to the pets I look after during the week and weekends. I provide a calm and safe home environment for pets. I’m attentive to each pet’s needs and routine, making sure they feel comfortable, supervised and well cared for at all times. I treat every pet with patience, kindness and responsibility.

About: I am a loyal, trustworthy, and deeply animal-loving person who has always felt happiest when surrounded by pets. Growing up, I was constantly drawn to animals, and caring for them has never felt like a chore—it’s something that comes naturally to me. I have pets of my own, so I truly understand the responsibility, patience, and love that goes into keeping animals happy, healthy, and safe. Being a pet owner has taught me how important routine, attention, and affection are in an animal’s life.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to become a pet sitter and dog walker because I genuinely love being around animals of all kinds. Spending time with them brings me joy, and I take pride in making them feel comfortable and secure, especially when their owners are away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I am committed to providing the same level of love and dedication that I give to my own pets.

My passion for animal care motivates me every day. I am attentive to details, patient with different personalities, and always focused on each pet’s well-being. Becoming a pet sitter isn’t just a job for me—it’s an opportunity to turn my love for animals into meaningful work where I can make a positive difference in their lives. Pet care is a big part of my daily life, and I organise my schedule around the pets I’m looking after. 🐾 I make sure I have plenty of time for each pet so visits and walks never feel rushed. I’m flexible wherever possible and will work with you to keep your pet’s normal routine consistent, whether that’s feeding times, walks, medication or simply their favourite cuddle time! 💚 I provide loving, personalised care while keeping your pet happy and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. 🐾 I follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, walks, playtime, cuddles and medication where required. Every pet is different, so their care is tailored to their individual needs and personality. I’ll also send you regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy and receiving plenty of love and attention while you’re away. 💚

There are 2,345 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Uttlesford. About 91% of Uttlesford sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
