We couldn’t recommend Miriam and Theo (& Milo) highly enough! They recently looked after our frenchie Pablo who didn’t have much socialisation before we adopted him. They were both great at easing our concerns and provided a fun and comfortable home for him during the stay

About: Dogs are my favourite people. 🐶 I've always been a huge dog lover and genuinely can't imagine life without them. I have a wonderful 10-year-old Cockapoo of my own, and I've grown up with family dogs, so I've spent years caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. There's nothing I enjoy more than getting outdoors for long walks, playing fetch, giving belly rubs, and spending quality time with happy pups. Whether your dog loves an adventure, a relaxed stroll, or simply lots of cuddles and company, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. As a Reiki practitioner, I naturally bring a calm, gentle energy and often find that animals relax quickly in my company. I'm always patient and attentive, making sure every dog feels comfortable, secure, and cared for at their own pace. I know every dog is different, so I'll always take the time to understand their routine, personality, and needs. I'll treat your furry friend as if they were my own, giving them plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and, of course, lots of love. I know how important it is to trust someone with your dog, and I'll do everything I can to give you complete peace of mind while you're away. I can't wait to meet your four-legged best friend! Dog care fits naturally into my daily routine. As I work for myself, I have the flexibility to organise my schedule around your dog's Secure fenced garden, dog-loving home with two respectful teenagers. Dogs are treated like family and are welcome on the sofa or bed, following your usual house rules.

Barbara was so lovely with Jackson and he became her shadow when out on walks. She made a huge fuss of him, with hugs and kisses, and clearly loved him. Jackson was allowed on the settee and upstairs and treated as their own pet. He got on well with Enzo, Barbara’s Cavalier Spaniel and there were no issues whatsoever. I can highly recommend Barbara and her partner Alan who also bonded with Jackson. They are a delightful couple and I trust them fully to look after Jackson and make his stay as homely as possible.

About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and caring for them has always been second nature to me. From energetic border collies to affectionate cocker spaniels and playful labradoodles, I’ve had experience with a wide range of breeds, sizes, and personalities. I regularly look after dogs for family and friends purely because I love it—it never feels like a chore. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, I genuinely enjoy making sure every dog feels happy, safe, and well cared for. My partner and I both work from home, which means your dog will have plenty of attention throughout the day. We’re able to be very hands-on, stick to routines, and give lots of care, cuddles, and supervision. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll treat your dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine as my partner and I both work from home, so your dog will have constant company and attention throughout the day. We love getting out for walks, whether it’s a quick stroll or a longer adventure, before work, during lunch, and in the evenings, with plenty of lovely local trails to explore. At home, we have a large 150ft garden where we enjoy spending time, giving your dog plenty of space to play, relax, and roam freely in a safe environment. Your dog will be treated as part of our home from the moment they arrive. My partner and I both work from home, so they’ll never be left alone for long and will have plenty of attention, interaction, and supervision throughout the day. We keep things relaxed and tailored to each dog whether they love long walks on the local trails, shorter strolls, or just pottering around the garden. We’re lucky to have a large 150ft garden, which is a big part of our daily routine and gives dogs plenty of safe space to explore, play, or simply relax outside. For overnight boarding, we focus on helping dogs feel settled and comfortable in a new environment. We stick closely to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, and any specific needs, so everything feels familiar and stress free. We genuinely love having dogs around and regularly care for family and friends’ pets, so creating a calm, safe, and happy environment is something that comes naturally to us.

It is very difficult to quantify how incredible and sweet Andreia and her beautiful family are. I could talk about how wonderful she was with our “less than easy” Spaniel, but there are so many other aspects of Andreia that makes her quite special. We had numerous complications with our holiday plans including a very last minute postponement as a result of American bombing in the Middle East. Andreia took it all in her stride. In summary, I would dare to suggest that if you are lucky enough to have Andreia take care of your dog, you can count yourself lucky.

I recently had the pleasure of entrusting Mia to Andy, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From our initial forest meeting, his calm and reassuring presence immediately put Mia at ease. Despite Mia's usual nervousness around new people, she took to him instantly—something that has never happened before. Unlike previous experiences where first nights away were a deal-breaker, Mia was brilliant throughout her stay. I enjoyed a completely interruption-free holiday, with daily updates and coming home to such a relaxed and happy dog was a delightful bonus. Thank you, Andy—it’s clear Mia had an exceptional stay under your care!

About: Hi! My name is Daniela , and I’d love to take care of your pet while you’re away. I genuinely love animals and believe they deserve kindness, patience, and lots of attention. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm companion, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can be stressful. That’s why I treat every animal as if they were my own and always follow your instructions carefully to keep their routine as normal as possible. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates, so you can enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind. I’m reliable, responsible, and patient with animals of all ages and personalities. I’m happy to help with: Dog walking Home visits Feeding and fresh water Playtime and companionship Basic grooming Administering medication if required Daily photo and video updates Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my priority. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! I work full-time at the airport, but I have a good routine and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for dogs. My availability is: • Tuesday and Wednesday: before 9:00 am and after 5:00 pm. • Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: available until 3:00 pm. • Sunday and Monday: fully available all day. I have an active lifestyle and love spending time outdoors, so I can provide dogs with regular walks, playtime, and lots of attention. I enjoy keeping dogs happy, comfortable, and engaged during their stay. My home has a small secure fenced garden where dogs can safely play, relax in the sunshine, and have access to the outdoors whenever they need. I don’t live alone, so Ivanna is also able to open the garden door at any time, giving the dogs easy access to the outside area. I would love to welcome dogs into my home and make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while they are with me.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
