“Linda took care of our beagle Bailey for 24 hours overnight and everything went perfectly. Bailey settled immediately and he was happy and relaxed on collection. We have no hesitation recommending Linda and we're sure Bailey will be very happy to visit again in the future😊🐾🐾”

“This was my first time going on holiday since I got my boy and I was a bit nervous about it. I've left him with Shelley and Dave a couple of times before and the experience was very good so it made sense to use them again. Honestly I don't think I'd trust anyone else now. I received updates and pictures and I loved to see my puppy playing with their children. He was very well looked after. And when I picked him up he was waggy and happy :)”

“I couldn’t be happier with having Fiona as Roo’s dog sitter! She sent frequent photo updates and responded to messages very quickly, which was very reassuring. Even though I was in another country, I felt so at ease knowing he was with Fiona! Roo was clearly very loved and well cared for the entire time. Such a lovely & warm family — I’ll definitely be booking with Fiona again and would 100% recommend her to everyone 🤍🐾.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! From the very beginning, they were professional, reliable, and genuinely caring. It was clear they truly love animals, and my cat warmed up to them much faster than expected, which says a lot. They kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat and everything exactly as I left it. It’s such a relief knowing my pet was in such safe and attentive hands. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate cat sitter, and I’ll definitely be booking with them again in the future!”

“Donna and Simon did a fantastic job watching Poppy. Poppy stayed with them for 15 days and she was well taken care of. I was provided with daily updates on Poppy’s wellbeing and they provided her with plenty of exercise and care. We always choose Donna first as our sitter as we trust her to provide the utmost care for our lil Poppy. Thanks so much both!”

“Veronika took care of my 2 year old Frug for a week as a very last minute request. The care and attention given to him during his stay was outstanding, Veronika is so kind, attentive and tuned in to all of the needs of the animals in her care. It is very clear to see she has a deep love and appreciation for dogs, and hours of planning goes into their stay. He was given long walks, tried new foods, lots of cuddles and understanding and space plus fun. I received lovely pictures and videos throughout his stay, and she has continued to check on his wellbeing since. I cannot recommend Veronika highly enough. Not only is she an incredible dog boarder, she is a genuinely kind person too.”

She kept in contact during his stay with pictures and we felt happy knowing he was safe and being looked after. We have no hesitation in recommending Alex and her 5 ⭐️ care.”

“We were so lucky to have Heidi looking after Woody a few weeks ago when we went on a mini break. She is so kind and caring and a beautiful setting for a springer spaniel to have lots of fun. When we arrived to pick him up he was sitting chilling in the garden enjoying the sunshine . Thank you Heidi and I would definitely recommend and would love Woody to stay with Heidi in the future.”

About: I've owned dogs all my adult life. I recently lost my beloved Cavachon Winnie and feel this is the right time to become a sitter. I miss the company of having a dog and feel this is the ideal solution I'm retired so your pet will fit into my routine easily. I have a huge park literally across the road where I take your dog for a good run or leisurely walk My house is dog friendly in every aspect. The garden is fully enclosed. If you dog sleeps on the bed they sleep with me. If your dog is allowed on the sofa he's allowed on mine. Home from home is my home
“I couldn't have asked for a better person to look after our puppy whilst we were on holiday. Layal was incredibly patient, attentive, and followed all of our routines. Our puppy is still training so Layal took the time to understand how we would treat him and would check with us if there was anything she could do to make him comfortable. We received regular updates, photos and videos which helped when being away for so long. We knew Leo was in safe hands!!! Highly recommend!”

“We are so happy with the service provided by Sue and James. Tess was so comfortable with them and always looked happy and content in every update they sent during her stay with them. This gave us such peace of mind whilst we were away. It really did look like home from home for Tess. Thank you so much Sue and James. We would not think twice about recommending to others.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats since I was a child and have always been comfortable around animals of different sizes, breeds, and personalities. Friends and family have regularly trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and look after their pets while they were away. I understand how important patience, attention, and routine are to keeping pets happy and comfortable. I’m currently working from home, so I have plenty of time to look after your cats and dogs. I’m available for boarding during both weekdays and weekends. We have a fenced front garden where pets can safely play and enjoy some outdoor time. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and routines, to help pets feel comfortable and at home. Since I work from home, I’m able to supervise them throughout the day and keep them company.

My dog was cared for and adored. I almost suspect she didn't want to leave. I got such frequent updates I knew every day how happy she was and how well she was looked after in the heat. Every photo showed how my dog was made to feel at home and Fiona handled her little ways with trying to get to food so well. Fiona knows how to adapt and manage any sort of dog. Will definitely use again.

Veronika really took time to understand and accommodate Rosie's personality and make her feel safe. Rosie had a lovely walk, lots of well supervised play, loads of attention as well as chews to keep occupied. Great pictures and detailed feedback about the day. Great to finds someone with good knowledge of dog interaction and behaviour. I won't hesitate to book again and can 100% recommend.

Kim and her family looked after Lola for a week while we were on holiday, and I couldn't have been happier with the care she received. It was clear that Lola was well looked after, loved, and made to feel part of the family. I would happily recommend Kim to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Alex agreed to look after our beagle Bailey for the 3rd time. It was unbearably hot and she took great care to make sure he was as comfortable as possible including late evening and early morning walks to avoid the heat. Alex kept us updated with everything plus pictures and we can highly recommend her without hesitation. Thanks Alex!

I am a nervous "father" of a cat and a dog but meeting Rajat and his partner I was re-assured very quickly that my pets are in good hands. His place was super clean, calm and his cat a lovely friend for Fidel. Highly professional and recommended. Rajat thank you for taking care of Puffina and Fidel. Without you we wouldn't be able to do any holidays.

Ishtaars home is very animal freindly. Willow loved it there as was shown on the pictures we recieved. We were updated every day and there was always communication. Willow is routine and ishtaar kept to it. Willow was comfortable with the whole family and made freinds with them all. We are very picky about our sitters as is willow. We would recommend her 100%.

When we met Dawn she was very calm, kind, professional and trustworthy. She welcomed Lexi into her home and really got to know her so that Lexi’s care would be as close to her home life as possible. Lexi settled with her immediately and Dawn sent us photos and videos of Lexi’s walks and her day. We feel so lucky to have found such excellent care for our little Lexi when we are away.

Sophie was absolutely amazing with Lucky! She accepted our booking last minute and was very flexible with the timing, even accommodating an early 6:30 am drop-off, which we truly appreciated. She took great care of Lucky, spent time playing with him, and handled his medications with complete ease and confidence. Her professionalism and genuine care really gave us peace of mind. We’re very happy with her service and will definitely book with her again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter! 🐾💛

Sarah and Leigh looked after our dog Chip for 1 night whilst we went away. They were absolutely brilliant! Sarah listened to all our requests and really took the time to understand Chips personality and little ways. I felt 100% reassured that he was in great hands. They sent messages and pictures to update us on what he'd been up to which was lovely. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this lovely couple to look after your fur baby. And Chip cannot wait to go back! Thank you Sarah and Leigh for taking such good care of our precious boy! ❤️

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
