“Dougal had a brilliant time again. He obviously felt at home, as soon as we got there to drop him off he rushed in to met the family and was so excited to be staying with Catherine and her family again. He's made friends with her dog Poppy and is obviously very comfortable. We are just so happy he loves it and comes home like he's had a little holiday too. Great sitter, cannot recommend enough.”

“This was my first time going on holiday since I got my boy and I was a bit nervous about it. I've left him with Shelley and Dave a couple of times before and the experience was very good so it made sense to use them again. Honestly I don't think I'd trust anyone else now. I received updates and pictures and I loved to see my puppy playing with their children. He was very well looked after. And when I picked him up he was waggy and happy :)”

“We recently used Zoe for the first time to look after our 7-month-old puppy, and she was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we met her, she was so friendly and welcoming, which instantly put us at ease. During his stay, Zoe sent us regular updates and photos, so we always knew how he was getting on. It was lovely to see how happy and settled he was, and it was clear he was having the best time on his little holiday! We couldn't have asked for a better first experience and wouldn't hesitate to book with Zoe again. We'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you so much, Zoe!”

“Alex was outstanding in her care and attention to our Bailey. He clearly had a wonderful time and came home a contented boy! She kept in contact during his stay with pictures and we felt happy knowing he was safe and being looked after. We have no hesitation in recommending Alex and her 5 ⭐️ care.”

“Our two 11 year old dogs, Bella and Elsie have been looked after really well during their home stay with Fiona and her family We had daily updates and Fiona’s attention when Elsie hurt her paw showed great skill and care. Throughout our holiday we were confident that our dogs were well exercised and looked after. We have no hesitation in recommending her for a home stay and will definitely be booking our dogs in for another holiday in the future”

“Heidi took excellent care of our Whiskey and sent lots of photos during his stay with her. Also her home has a dog flap so Whiskey was free to wander in and out as he pleased to the secure garden at the rear. Thanks very much for taking great care of Whiskey!”

About: I’ve looked after my neighbours dog when I was younger for money. My partner had always had dogs. His is now 5 and had him since he was a pup so went through the training. We look after him when his parents are away as well as our other family members and friends dogs too! My partner and I both work full time on weekdays however one of us is always home or only gone for a couple hours at most. We would love a dog ourselves but we are not ready for that currently so looking after dogs temporarily is a perfect solution for us dog lovers! We have a secure fenced garden. We don’t have any other pets so your dog/s will be our sole focus on making sure they are happy and healthy
“Donna and Simon are fantastic. They look after our 1 year old male Cocker Spaniel so well that he loves going round and cries with excitement as we arrive. Our boy has made their home his second home and adores Donna and Simon to bits. We have booked a one night and a 7 night stay. On his stays we get daily updates with photos. We’re so happy to have found Donna through Rover and will definitely book with her again.”

“Thank you for having Teddy again - you make him feel very at home and welcome. Nathalie and her lovely dog Tilly are great which gives us complete piece of mind when we need to leave our dog - thank you! 😊”

About: I'm a huge animal and nature lover and a very caring person. Always had animals in my life and know a lot about dogs, cats, small animals, plants and even fish. :) Currently live with a middle aged calm and quite Chihuahua, who never stays alone. I am not working at the moment, so if you need a summer break, short or long, be in touch and I can help with your small, calm (not black or dark brown) fur-baby, who will be looked after like a real baby in my home. I'm currently not working and home full time. Can take one little dog in time on board during September month if you need to take a break. Please see my availability. Also, can walk or visit any of your pets in your home. I live in a flat next to a lovely park, where I walk my Chi every day, 3 times per day. I also have a secure balcony for "emergencies" during a night or a day where I have arranged dog's pee arear. My dog has a bit poor eye sign and scared of any dark objects. So, she won't be happy with any fully black or chocolate doggy. As well as with a puppy, which are full of beans (sorry puppies! ) However, she is very friendly with all other animals, including cats, rats, etc :) She also lived with them previously and raised 3 lovely kittens. Overall, she is a very gentle, well-trained, silent and calm "girl" and she will love a little friend, with who she can sleep on my bed.
“Thank you so so much for Sadie’s wonderful stay (again!) She loves her walks with you and had lots of fun playing with the other dog staying with you. We love receiving the photos of what she’s up to, thank you! We’ll definitely be booking her in for another stay next time we go away.”

“Unfortunately, just before our holiday, our dog had to have an operation. This meant that extra care was needed as Alfie had to wear a buster collar and go back to our vet to have his stitches out. Helen took all of this in her stride. She sent us an update every day and I was completely happy that he was in her safe hands. I would thoroughly recommend Helen to look after any dog. I will use her again without hesitation. Debbie & Alfie”

“Veronika took care of my 2 year old Frug for a week as a very last minute request. The care and attention given to him during his stay was outstanding, Veronika is so kind, attentive and tuned in to all of the needs of the animals in her care. It is very clear to see she has a deep love and appreciation for dogs, and hours of planning goes into their stay. He was given long walks, tried new foods, lots of cuddles and understanding and space plus fun. I received lovely pictures and videos throughout his stay, and she has continued to check on his wellbeing since. I cannot recommend Veronika highly enough. Not only is she an incredible dog boarder, she is a genuinely kind person too.”

“J was the perfect dog sitter for my Italian greyhound, Tofu! He made me feel completely at ease with leaving him for the weekend and kept me updated with photos. Really responsive on message and genuinely an 5 star experience overall. Would definitely recommend!”

“Sarah was perfect for our little sheltie Tali. Tali is an elderly dog and quite timid so needs a bit of understanding. Sarah was fantastic with her and made her feel totally comfortable. We received photos and little videos very regularly. Thank you so much for a brilliant service. We will definitely be using Sarah again if possible.”

“Ivy enjoyed her stay with Angelica who obviously cared for her as though she was her own dog. Ivy would definately like to stay again if Angelica would have her ! Would definately recommend😍”

About: Some of my earliest and kindest memories are of growing up with two amazing black labs. Not a year has gone by since without dogs playing a big part in my life. From having then as pets through to dogsitting as I grew up, I adore spending time with our furry four-legged friends. I have a friendly and sociable labradoodle called Ellie who will put any visiting friend at ease; be it playing in the garden or snoozing together on the sofa while I read. I'm currently working flexibly from home so am able to spend most of my day with your dog. I have several parks nearby where I can take them for walks however often they need, plus a back garden they can relax in. We have a very pet-friendly home (it was necessary for our own dog, Ellie!). The back garden is fenced with both sun and shade. I'll always tailor the environment to suit your dog, ensuring they are comfortable and happy while staying - be it a quiet space to sleep, or if they prefer sleeping in the bedroom with me.

As always otis and lola love going on their holidays with Fiona and have the best time living with their family for a week. I get regular walk and cuddle updates and they really are so happy and very settled when they stay. As my doggies are my babies i couldnt recommend Fiona enough!!

I’m so pleased I found Helen Everyone should have 100% faith in Helen . She went over and above the Rover terms ! Picked Kasha up and delivered her back .(reluctantly I think as she fitted in with the family so well) Kasha happy and healthy. Was flexible when we were bit later coming home . I would have no concerns about recommending her and the family she lives with .

We have had Lucia walk our dog and have ahad an overnight boarding. It is very obvious our dog loves being around Lucia, he gets very excited when they come to pick him up. I would highly recommend Lucia! We will certainly be continuing our bookings as our dog loves spending time with them.

I couldn't have asked for a better person to look after our puppy whilst we were on holiday. Layal was incredibly patient, attentive, and followed all of our routines. Our puppy is still training so Layal took the time to understand how we would treat him and would check with us if there was anything she could do to make him comfortable. We received regular updates, photos and videos which helped when being away for so long. We knew Leo was in safe hands!!! Highly recommend!

Veronika really took time to understand and accommodate Rosie's personality and make her feel safe. Rosie had a lovely walk, lots of well supervised play, loads of attention as well as chews to keep occupied. Great pictures and detailed feedback about the day. Great to finds someone with good knowledge of dog interaction and behaviour. I won't hesitate to book again and can 100% recommend.

Kim and her family looked after Lola for a week while we were on holiday, and I couldn't have been happier with the care she received. It was clear that Lola was well looked after, loved, and made to feel part of the family. I would happily recommend Kim to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Alex agreed to look after our beagle Bailey for the 3rd time. It was unbearably hot and she took great care to make sure he was as comfortable as possible including late evening and early morning walks to avoid the heat. Alex kept us updated with everything plus pictures and we can highly recommend her without hesitation. Thanks Alex!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
