“Nandi was fantastic with my 12yo dog. She sent regular photo and text updates so I always knew how he was doing. Her love for animals really shines through and I felt comfortable knowing he was in safe hands.”

“Linda took care of our dog Bailey for daycare. It was a late night pickup but Linda was very helpful and all went smoothly including her kindly supplying some kibble and treats because I forgot them! This was very much appreciated. Bailey was very happy and settled on this his 2nd stay with Linda and I would recommend her without any hesitation. Thank you Linda ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Donna provided Poppy with excellent care. Poppy always enjoys her stays with Donna. Donna is a thoughtful and kind sitter and she is always our first choice when we need a sitter for Poppy. Thanks, Donna!”

“Angelika was great with my little staffy. She had her for two nights, took her for long walks, sent loads of pictures and my dog was so tired when she came home from a nice weekend away. Definitely recommend!”
“Alex agreed to look after our beagle Bailey for the 3rd time. It was unbearably hot and she took great care to make sure he was as comfortable as possible including late evening and early morning walks to avoid the heat. “Saoirse had great care while w Shelly and Dave. We received lovely photos of her walks and cuddles throughout the stay which meant we could relax knowing she was happy”

“Veronika took care of my 2 year old Frug for a week as a very last minute request. The care and attention given to him during his stay was outstanding, Veronika is so kind, attentive and tuned in to all of the needs of the animals in her care. It is very clear to see she has a deep love and appreciation for dogs, and hours of planning goes into their stay. He was given long walks, tried new foods, lots of cuddles and understanding and space plus fun. I received lovely pictures and videos throughout his stay, and she has continued to check on his wellbeing since. I cannot recommend Veronika highly enough. Not only is she an incredible dog boarder, she is a genuinely kind person too.”

“Thank you Laura and Troye for making Ally feel so welcome in your home … it seems like she enjoyed the company and it was nice to hear you did lots of walks and she had cuddles on the sofa and I know she would have enjoyed sitting with Troye watching out of your big picture window and exploring in your garden ..Great communication from Lara confirming everything and not having local family or friends it’s nice to be able to book someone when you need a sitter”

“Rose and her husband were great to deal with. Our dog seemed to be very happy there for 9 days. We got plenty of photo updates of the dog out on walks and pictures of the dog at the foot of their bed. Garden was secure and it seemed the dog had free reign of the house. Would highly recommend and will likely use Rose again.”

“Archie, Fergus and Hamish have such a great time. Second time now for the boys and will certainly use the quality service that Karen provides. Always receive updates and photos which provides reassurance that they are having a nice time and gives me piece of mind. Simon”

“Abigail really took care of our puppy well and was extremely helpful throughout. Before the visit she arranged a meet and greet, and while our dog was staying with her she sent us photos to show her settling in which was much appreciated! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and will be booking our dog in again to stay with her soon.”

“Claire was great. She was available at quite short notice to look after my son’s cat Tosa while we were on holiday. She communicated well and gave us plenty of updates on how Tosa was doing. Tosa was happy and comfortable.”

“Unfortunately, just before our holiday, our dog had to have an operation. This meant that extra care was needed as Alfie had to wear a buster collar and go back to our vet to have his stitches out. Helen took all of this in her stride. She sent us an update every day and I was completely happy that he was in her safe hands. I would thoroughly recommend Helen to look after any dog. I will use her again without hesitation. Debbie & Alfie”

“Thank you for having Teddy again - you make him feel very at home and welcome. Nathalie and her lovely dog Tilly are great which gives us complete piece of mind when we need to leave our dog - thank you! 😊”

Fiona looked after our cockapoo, Poppy, for the first time whilst we were recently away for 11 days. I can reiterate what others have said with regard to the fantastic care and affection that was provided by Fiona and her lovely family. Fiona's communication is brilliant and through the messages, photos and videos that were sent, it was very clear that poppy was having a great time and being extremely well cared for. We also ran out of food at the end of Poppy's stay, and were delayed on our return flight to England. Fiona made sure extra food was provided to Poppy and helped to drop her off with our emergency contact, as Fiona and her family were going on holiday. We highly recommend Fiona and I'm sure Poppy would love to have another stay with Fiona and her family some other time soon!

I couldn't have asked for a better person to look after our puppy whilst we were on holiday. Layal was incredibly patient, attentive, and followed all of our routines. Our puppy is still training so Layal took the time to understand how we would treat him and would check with us if there was anything she could do to make him comfortable. We received regular updates, photos and videos which helped when being away for so long. We knew Leo was in safe hands!!! Highly recommend!

Veronika really took time to understand and accommodate Rosie's personality and make her feel safe. Rosie had a lovely walk, lots of well supervised play, loads of attention as well as chews to keep occupied. Great pictures and detailed feedback about the day. Great to finds someone with good knowledge of dog interaction and behaviour. I won't hesitate to book again and can 100% recommend.

Kim and her family looked after Lola for a week while we were on holiday, and I couldn't have been happier with the care she received. It was clear that Lola was well looked after, loved, and made to feel part of the family. I would happily recommend Kim to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Alex agreed to look after our beagle Bailey for the 3rd time. It was unbearably hot and she took great care to make sure he was as comfortable as possible including late evening and early morning walks to avoid the heat. Alex kept us updated with everything plus pictures and we can highly recommend her without hesitation. Thanks Alex!

Ishtaars home is very animal freindly. Willow loved it there as was shown on the pictures we recieved. We were updated every day and there was always communication. Willow is routine and ishtaar kept to it. Willow was comfortable with the whole family and made freinds with them all. We are very picky about our sitters as is willow. We would recommend her 100%.

When we met Dawn she was very calm, kind, professional and trustworthy. She welcomed Lexi into her home and really got to know her so that Lexi’s care would be as close to her home life as possible. Lexi settled with her immediately and Dawn sent us photos and videos of Lexi’s walks and her day. We feel so lucky to have found such excellent care for our little Lexi when we are away.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
