“Had such a brilliant experience with Leanna - looked after my cat with such great care and shared so many lovely updates with us whilst we were away on holiday. We had total peace of mind :) thanks Leanna!”

“Ally was fantastic — very reliable, caring, and incredibly precise with her updates throughout. It was really reassuring knowing Obama was in such good hands while we were away. Communication was excellent, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about the cats she looks after. We would definitely book her again. Highly recommended!”

“Liv is a lovely sitter who has shown genuine care for my little puppy since the very first time meeting. It’s so re-assuring knowing that my dog will be looked after with great care and enthusiasm when I can’t be with her, and I get loads of updates from the time they spend together which is really nice.”

“Caroline was great with our dog Scampi. She helped me out last minute and was great with communication. I got photos and details of her visit and came home to a walked, fed, happy dog. Thanks again Caroline xx”

“Patrick was amazing looking after my cat Sox whilst I was away. He was very punctual, reliable and diligent. I felt Sox was in good hands and he certainly was. Patrick also communicated with me daily, sending daily pics for my ease. Highly recommend.”

“Our kets love Jane. We can tell by the way they rush to the door (especially Ozy) whenever she drops by to pick up or return keys. The kets were well fed and looked after, and Ozy took his heart medication reliably.”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs from a young age and had my own Border Terrier for 14 years, so I understand the care, patience and attention dogs need throughout every stage of life. Friends, family and neighbours have also relied on me to walk, feed and look after their dogs, and I genuinely love spending time with them. Whether it’s energetic walks, playtime, keeping to feeding routines or simply giving them company and comfort, I always make sure they feel safe, happy and cared for. I know every dog has their own personality, needs and routine, and I’m happy to adapt to whatever makes them feel most at home. I work full-time during the week, but I have availability in the mornings, lunchtimes, evenings and weekends for walks, drop-ins and pet sitting. I work from home 3 days a week, so I can also pet sit during my WFH days. My schedule is flexible outside of working hours, and I’m happy to discuss regular bookings or one-off care depending on your pet’s needs. Your pet’s comfort, safety and routine will always be my priority. Having cared for my own dog for 14 years, I understand how important consistency, patience and trust are. I have a secure fenced garden where pets can safely play, explore and get fresh air, alongside regular walks and plenty of attention. I always take time to understand each pet’s feeding schedule, exercise needs and any special requirements before care begins. If caring for your pet in your home, I aim to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible by sticking closely to their normal routine. I’m respectful of your home and happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away.
“Our cats loved Giovanna, she sent us lovely videos and we were surprised how much shy Hermione adored her! She played with them, fed and brushed them and we've returned to very happy cats, which is the biggest sign of a great cat sitter, we were in trouble last time we came home after using someone else! We'll definitely use her again and again”

About: I live in Walthamstow with my husband, baby, and two cats, Dracula and Nico. Dracula is a senior and Nico is a very lively kitten. I'm currently on maternity leave so have availability to cat sit in my neighbourhood. I'm currently on maternity leave so flexible to drop by at any time that works for your cat's feeding schedule, including multiple times a day. I have experience dealing with anxious cats, senior cats, and giving cats medication. I'm also an experienced dog owner and happy to consider dog walking bookings.
About: My experience with pet care started years ago by spending time with friends’ dogs of all shapes and sizes. Since this spring (as I started working remotely), I’ve been dog sitting in London more regularly, which has given me the chance to spend meaningful time with different breeds (but mostly Cockapoos), personalities, and energy levels. I currently work from home 99.99% of the time, which means I can dedicate plenty of time and attention to the dogs I care for. I am based in Walthamstow and there are a few nice parks around where I can bring your pup for a walk. For long stays, I am happy to go for 2-3 walks a day (morning, afternoon and evening). In terms of feeding, I would follow your instructions. Your pet will never be left alone - I’m always nearby to give them attention and care. I live in a three-room flat. We’re also lucky to have several lovely parks close by, perfect for daily walks and fresh-air adventures. I’ll happily keep you updated with photos as often as you’d like, and if I’m ever uncertain about anything, I’ll check in with you right away to make sure your pup’s routine and comfort are always prioritized.
“Absolute 5 star sitter!! I needed last minute cover for someone to walk and feed my little dog and Eleanor was amazing. Very responsive and communicative, follow every instruction to the letter, and was accommodating and understanding when I left the key in the wrong place! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter. Can’t wait to book again soon!”

“Sophie kept me well informed by sending regular updates and photos. I returned home to 2 very happy and contented cats. Highly recommend and would be happy to have Sophie do our drop-ins again.”

About: I truly love bonding with other peoples pets, often being dubbed step-mum and aunty by the owners. Ever since I was young I’ve been helping to look after dogs, big and small, young and old, so I feel super comfortable with different pet personalities and needs. I’ve cared for dogs for up to two weeks, in both my home or theirs with other responsibilities. I’d love to become your favourite borrower! You scratch my back and well, I’ll scratch your dogs… Generally I’m pretty flexible and will always try to make time for furry friends… Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays I work from home, able to give your pet ample attention. If I get to know dogs well, I can also take them in to the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Those days I’ll be home around 6:30pm. No real restrictions on the weekend! Although I’ve not had a pet of my own, my house has seen so many! Yours can join me for cuddles on the sofa (if allowed), roam free downstairs and run around the large fenced garden.
About: As I live alone I often find myself having spare time and would love the company so in a way you’ll be doing me the favour 😊 I’ve looked after all sorts of animals from guinea pigs to cats and dogs. My grandparents always had dogs which I grew up with and have looked after family and friends furry pals too! I’m working from home 2/3 times a week as a designer in ad sales so I’m not in back to back meetings and am able to take breaks as and when needed. I often go to Epping forest at the weekends as it’s only a short trip away! I’m not a big party animal so welcome the company when I can 😊 I welcome clear instructions as to how you want me to look after your loved ones. I always want to make sure they have the best experience and are safe. My flat has a communal outdoor space around it and it’s very secure once you’re in the building you can only be buzzed up. I treat my home with love and care, the same rules apply for anyone else’s
About: I’m based in Walthamstow, living with my boyfriend in a lovely flat with outdoor space. We miss having pets at home - when we lived in Oxford we looked after family and friends pets all the time, and then had a good stint on borrowmydoggy in London. We are hoping to get a pet in the next couple of years but until then love spending time looking after lil cats and doggies! I’m available for pet sitting / dog walking for the majority of week as I work from home most days - can be as flexible as needed. We have 2 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen living room which leads out onto an enclosed safe balcony - we spend most of the time in the living room playing or cuddling.
About: I absolutely love caring for animals and always treat every pet as if they were my own. I take the time to get to know their personality and routines, so whether your pet is shy and gentle, full of beans, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I have hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities, from playful one-year-olds to senior dogs needing special attention. I’ve cared for blind dogs and pets with allergies, so I understand how important it is to be attentive to their unique health and comfort needs. I’m also comfortable administering medication if required, and always approach each furry friend with calmness and care. Over the years, I’ve cared for a wide range of breeds, from the playful and affectionate Bernese Mountain Dog, to the high-energy and alert nature of hunting dogs like Pointers and Greyhounds, to the sweet (and sometimes stubborn!) personalities of smaller breeds like Beagles and Cavalier Spaniels. Each one has taught me something new, and I genuinely love getting to know their quirks and routines. If your pet is staying overnight, I’ll make sure you feel connected and reassured with regular updates, photos, and videos. I understand how hard it can be to leave your pets, and I want you to feel completely at ease knowing they’re in caring, experienced hands. I’ve also worked as a sitter on other platforms and would be happy to provide references upon request. Caring for animals is not just something I do, it’s something I love. I can’t wait to meet your pet and give them the same level of care and affection I’d want for my own :) I work from home, so I’m very flexible and able to give your pet lots of attention throughout the day. I’m happy to host them at my home, where they’ll have a secure garden to enjoy and a calm space to relax in. If you’re away for a few days, I’ll follow their usual routine, including walk times, feeding, and any special needs, to keep things familiar and stress-free. You’ll also receive regular photo updates for peace of mind while you're away. Your pet will be welcomed into a calm, safe, and pet-friendly environment. I don’t currently have any pets of my own, so they’ll have my full attention. Since I work from home, I’m around all day to keep them company, and they’ll also have access to a secure fenced garden for play and fresh air.

About: I have several years of experience caring for dogs of different sizes and personalities, from energetic dogs who need structured walks to calmer companions. Friends, neighbours and family regularly trust me to walk, feed and look after their dogs while they’re away. I prioritise safety, consistency and making sure each dog feels comfortable and secure. I also offer dog sitting and can care for cats as well, following feeding routines carefully and providing regular updates and photos for peace of mind. I’m a full-time student with a structured routine, which allows me to offer dog walking and pet sitting after 4pm on weekdays, as well as full availability on weekends. During school holidays, I have much more flexibility and can offer additional daytime care. I’m reliable with scheduling and happy to arrange regular weekly walks or occasional bookings. I currently offer dog walking and drop-in visits in the owner’s home. I prioritise safety on every walk, using secure leads and staying attentive to surroundings at all times. During visits, I carefully follow feeding routines, refresh water, provide playtime and ensure pets feel calm and comfortable in their own environment. I respect each home as if it were my own and provide regular updates and photos for reassurance.
About: I’m a lifelong dog lover. I grew up with a golden retriever and a Maltese poodle, so dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I work from home full time, which means I’m always around and your dog will never be left alone for long (it genuinely breaks my heart to think of them waiting!). I love being active and outdoors, so they’ll always get a proper, exciting walk, not just a quick trip round the block. I’m equally happy with cuddles and playtime at home too. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs across London: small dogs, puppies, big dogs, you name it and I treat every single one like my own. I work from home everyday and our flat has access to a private shared garden and we are only a short few minute walks away from gorgeous parks to run around and play. During the week, I work in 2-3 hour chunks with breaks at around 1130 and 2-3 pm, which is when I would walking the dogs. I typically spend the weekends outdoors or exploring London. We live in a building with many shared areas that are very dog friendly, we have an elevator which is great for dogs with bad hips or unable to walk up or down the stairs. Our apartment is spacious and there is a nice area for them to walk around and play, we also have a large community garden space on the roof and on the second floor with access to patches of grass and a place to run around.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Waltham Forest
Adam looked after our 3 cats while we were away, and we couldn't be happier with the care he provided. He was reliable, punctual, and clearly cared about our cats' wellbeing. He followed all of our instructions carefully, kept everything clean and tidy, and made sure the cats were happy, fed, and comfortable throughout our trip. He also kept us updated with messages and photos. I would recommend Adam to anyone looking for a trustworthy, professional, and caring cat sitter, and we would happily book him again in the future. Thank you, Adam, for taking such wonderful care of our cats!

Alishah has looked after my cat Tybalt on a regular basis now and has always been absolutely amazing. She’s brilliant at sending daily updates and photos, which always gives me peace of mind while I’m away. I always come home to a very relaxed, happy, and well looked after cat. Tybalt absolutely adores her and feels completely at ease around her, which says it all. I would highly recommend Alishah to anyone looking for an excellent cat sitter :)

Kate was a wonderful cat sitter. Gave us in-depth check-ins on our cat and did everything we asked of her to make sure our cat was comfortable in our absence. I will 100% be booking her again if she’ll have us. Thanks again Kate, you made it so much easier to be away from Pippin x

Eva’s a super attentive sitter, I was confident about her being able to do a great job with Patti and have felt reassured throughout the week I’ve been away! She’s obviously done and great job, shared updates for each visit and gone the extra mile to ensure Patti’s been comfortable and been given attention every day while I’ve been away. 10/10 ☺️

Assia was amazing at looking after our two cats. They warmed to her immediately and she was so caring looking after them during a heatwave. She was super communicative and sent videos to put our minds at ease that they were dealing with the heat. Would highly recommend her!

Over the 4 years we have had our cats we have used about 6 cat sitters for various reasons. Safe to say that Emily is the most comprehensive cat sitter that we have had, sending lots of pictures, videos and messages updating us on their eating habits, issues and going out of her way to ensure that both of them are cared for. Emily doesn't just leave the food and head off like we have had with other cat sitters, she is patient and attentive to their needs, showing the care and enjoyment in the job that we hope from someone looking after our furry children! Will definitely be booking again

Ivana is amazing!! I am SUCH a worrier when it comes to my (slightly) anxious cat, and he took to Ivana immediately who has gone above and beyond. I got regular updates too which gave me peace of mind, and I got to relax on holiday knowing he was in safe hands. Thank you Ivana!

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
