About: I have always had cats, no dogs as I was working full time. I now own a Cavichon/Beagle as I work part time. I used to volunteer dog socialising up until COVID, but we had to stop then. So I started dog sitting and now sit for 2 Whippets, an Australian Labradoodle, a Boston Terrier and a miniature Dashund. I also walked a Vet students Cockapoo for a year. I am mad about dogs. I lost my two elderly cats. So now I only have my dog, who is very laid back. I am now retired so free to walk and Dog sit Mondays to Fridays, Also some weekend availability. I absolutely love dogs and love walking them. I would take great care of your dog and love playing with them too. I have a secure fenced back garden and access to plenty of parks within 15 minutes walk of my house. I am happy to take dogs in my car if they are used to cars. I just love caring for dogs. I am now retired so I can take bookings Monday to Friday so I will have plenty of time to play and walk your dog. I have a secure back garden and a pet friendly house, pets are allowed on my furniture. If I walk your dog I will keep on a lead, and if I am in your home keep all exits secured.
“This was my first time using Rover (being a first time pet owner), I was incredibly nervous walking Shi though Peanut’s care plan. However, Shi was excellent with Peanut. He was very comfortable with her and I was very grateful to Shi for looking after him while we were away. I would happily recommend her service and rebook in the future.”
About: I’ve owned cats for many years (three in total) and have extensive hands-on experience with daily cat care including feeding, litter cleaning, and understanding different personalities, from shy to more social cats. I also have experience walking and caring for dogs, including regular walks, following lead etiquette, and sticking to established routines. I currently offer a limited number of dog walks alongside my main focus on cat drop-in visits. I fit pet care around my main work schedule, offering cat drop-in visits once a day or every other day, and 1–2 dog walks per week. I plan visits in advance to ensure I arrive on time and can spend focused, calm time with each pet. My availability is limited so that every visit is consistent and stress-free for the pets. In the pet owner’s home, I follow each pet’s routine carefully, ensuring feeding, litter cleaning are done according to instructions. I handle shy or independent pets gently, always letting them approach me at their own pace. I maintain a calm and safe environment, avoiding hazards and minimizing stress. I supervise pets at all times, keep doors and windows secure, and never leave them unattended in risky situations. In my own home (for dog walks or occasional cat care), I keep the space clean, safe, and quiet, providing pets with a comfortable and calm environment. I treat each pet as an individual and prioritize their safety and well-being above all.
“5 stars is not enough! First time using a cat sitter so was really nervous, Jo is amazing and made me feel very comfortable, I will never go to anyone else and will recommend her to all my cat friends! If you’re wondering who to use, Jo is your girl! x”

About: I love pets and have a small kitten. In my family we have several dogs and cats and I absolutely love them. I have cared for friends pets a few times, both dogs and cats. I would love to help you out and be friend with your pets. I work full time but from home mostly, only go to the office once or twice a week. I have a flexible start in the morning so can walk before 9:30 and finish usually between 4:30-5:30 pm, when again I'd be available. If you live close to my address and could pop by at lunch time as well. I am good at following instructions and will care for your dog as you prefer. I am caring and love a cuddle but if they prefer space that will be respected, I have experience caring for anxious dogs/cats. I can come around whenever needed to feed them, walk them and keep them company for a while.
“Theresa is a very competent dog carer!! As soon as I met her and saw how she interacted with me and my new puppy - Hiro, I knew that all was well. It’s quite nerve racking finding someone to care for your new young pup for the first time- but I was very reassured by Theresa’s presence and attitude around dogs. I would highly recommend her. Thanks again Theresa!!”

About: My brother's German Shepherd, Finn, I have looked after recently for six days while he had an eye infection. Finn is also a rescue with an anxiety condition and so needed medication administered. I also have experience with puppies as well. I feel therefore with my experience and calm demeanour I am a good pet-sitter. It also brings me great joy and contentment to be around pets. It is currently my only method of income, so I have a lot of availability in terms of schedule. This means that unless I have other jobs lined-up or a holiday for example, I will be completely free to care for your pet. In the pet's home I would be with the pet for as long as they needed, whether that meant constantly or only a little bit throughout the day. I also have experience of addressing health needs, and so would be very vigilant with that if needed. Overall I am always contented to be around pets, so would give them one hundred percent of my attention one hundred percent of the time.
“Christina was AMAZING with my elderly dog, and took care of her with great attention to detail. Would highly recommend Christina, unless of course I need to book her again-then I want her first! Thanks so much Christina!”

“Sadiyah did a great job of looking after Gracie while we were away! She provided regular updates with photos, and kept us informed throughout the time we were away. We arrived home to a very happy cat! Would be very happy to ask Sadiyah to look after her again!”

“Chloe was an absolute star looking after Gizmo. I got in touch with her quite close to the date we were going away, and she responded promptly and was happy to help. My cat, Gizmo, absolutely adored her and we really appreciated her dropping in. She was reliable, friendly and I will definitely be booking in with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: Since I was young I’ve always had pets, from stick insects, rabbits, snakes & turtles to cats & dogs. I’ve loved them all. Now that I’m older my passion still resonates with animals and their wellbeing, learning all their little character quirks. I’ve cared for many breeds, like the large Dogue de Bordeaux, spunky terriers and delicate Dachshunds and that’s not all. Please feel free to reach out if you want to hear about my experience with other breeds. I have my own young cat who is playful, loves attention (and is a bit mouthy!) Whilst my cat is cuddly, I do understand not all pets are. I’m able to recognise those boundaries and always show respect to all animals. I’m a driver with a clean license and carry a valid DBS certificate. Along with a whole load of patience and kindness (and cuddles!) As a professional photographer I will be able to send you some fabulous images of your pets to keep you updated. While being a freelance photographer looking to change careers to work with animals, I have plenty of time for walks and pet visits and no real schedule which means I am very flexible for your animals needs. I am able to offer a range of services depending on what your animal needs, wether they need to be let out for the toilet or if they need their food or if it’s simply a check in and some cuddles, I am also able to administer medication upon request and instruction. I will be able to follow instructions tailored to your animal not limited to what’s listed above.
About: I'm Meg and I want to walk your dog! I've been a dog owner since I was ten to cheeky Daschund Digby and loveable one-eyed cockapoo Doogie. Most importantly, I'm a great tennis ball thrower. I'm reliable, responsible, and flexible. I'm a freelance writer, so have lots of time to walk your dog and can work around yours and your dogs' schedules. Every pet and every owner is different. I'll be there to follow your lead and keep your pet company. My goal is always to create a calm and safe environment where your pets feel comfortable and you feel confident that they're in good hands.
“Izzy was great! She is very polite and was very good at communicating with us us before the planned visit. She also arranged to meet the dogs before the booking to make sure she understood their needs. On the day of the booking she was very punctual and we had no hesitation is leaving her with them. She obviously loves animals, understands their personalities and needs and how to care for them. I would have no hesitation in booking Izzy again.”

“Lucia dropped in to look after our British Shorthair over 6 days and on short notice! She kept us updated throughout, and it was clear they both enjoyed spending time together – our cat warmed to her straight away. Lucia is passionate about what she does, and we’d happily recommend her to others if she’s available. We’ll definitely use her services again. Thanks, Lucia! 😊”

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Enfield
Kat is a very caring and professional cat sitter. My cat is not a friendly cat and is wary of most people. Kat works with this and gives her the attention and interaction she can cope with. Kat took the time to find out what the feeding routine is and carried it out exactly. She also sent updates when visiting.
Really glad to have booked Melissa for our first time using Rover. Great communication before, during and as needed after. Looked after our 2 young cats perfectly, and it lifted a huge weight from our heads as we were on holiday for the week. Watered, fed, littered and some treats across the week with daily photos. Will be booking Melissa again.
Sadiyah did a great job of looking after Gracie while we were away! She provided regular updates with photos, and kept us informed throughout the time we were away. We arrived home to a very happy cat! Would be very happy to ask Sadiyah to look after her again!

Candy was the perfect cat sitter for our brood - she took the best care of them and sent lots of photos and videos at each visit, which was really reassuring. Very sweet, responsible and conscientious person you can trust with your fur babies. Couldn’t recommend her highly enough and will be asking her to cat sit for us next time we go away.
Tammy was the perfect person to look after our cats whilst we were on holiday. Making arrangements to organise everything was very easy. Tammy followed the instructions provided, including daily pics, and the cats definitely enjoyed her company whilst we were away. I'd highly recommend Tammy if you're ever in need of cat sitting services.

We had Chloe come by for a drop-in to look after our cats, and honestly, she was wonderful. Our cats absolutely adored her. She sent us cute photos and little updates that made us feel really at ease. She even tidied up the little messes the cats made, which was such a nice touch. When we got back, it was like we’d never even left, the cats were calm and happy(normally they would be really moody when we leave them even for short trips). It’s clear they really loved Chloe. We’d definitely ask her to cat-sit again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much, Chloe!

Luiza is the best! Very grateful to have such a lovely and trustworthy and reliable animal sitter nearby. She is brilliant and even helped us with a small non-animal issue while we were away which was very kind of her. And our very shy cat was even willing to say hello which says a lot about her. Thank you for the great support and helping us relax on our holiday! 100% recommend to anyone else wanting a wonderful pet sitter.

Eleanor did 2 meal stops a day for 2 weeks. The 2 dachshunds are very reactive and they seem to dislike strangers in our home regardless. But they got their meals and toilet breaks which gave us great relief they had a routine they were used to. Trustworthy and reliable sitter that we would use again.

Harriet was great! She communicated clearly and handled my very anxious dog with so much care. My dog usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but she relaxed from the first visit. I also have a 6 month old cat, and Harriet managed both pets really well. She sent lots of photos throughout, which made me feel really reassured.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
