“Would highly recommend Cerys for dog sitting. She is flexible with times and super friendly. She provides good feedback and photos for each booking. It’s so good to have someone to rely on when we are away.”
“Sherry did a wonderful job with her drop in visits for my two dogs. The dogs were well looked after, settled, and communication was great. It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. Highly recommend.”

“Thank you, Natalia. You looked after our cat, Suki, very well, and we know she really enjoyed your company and cuddles. I appreciated the pictures and videos of her whilst I was away, thank you X”
“Heidi is really excellent with her communication. I've had to make changes at short notice and she's been very happy to accommodate. She's also great with Max who has a lot of energy, which Heidi manages well! Thanks Heidi!”
“Julia was wonderful with Ginger! She took the time to visit beforehand to get to know us and understand Ginger’s routine. She was also very flexible and available at short notice. I came home to a very happy cat, and I’ll definitely be using her services again soon.”

“Chloe was great with my cat. She sent photos and followed my instructions really well. I'm so happy she looked after him. My home was tidy and clean when I got back and Timmy seemed very cosy laying in bed waiting for us to come home. Thank you for looking after him whilst we were away 😊”

“Tilly provided great care while looking after my cat for few days, as a last-minute request. This was my 1st time booking Tilly but felt at ease leaving my cat, Poupette, in her hands. Her background as a veterinary nurse was especially reassuring, as Poupette had recently experienced some health issues. I would highly recommend Tilly for any pet care needs and I'm already in the process of rebooking her services.”

“Louise and her partner were absolutely brilliant! It was the first time I had ever left Rodney in hands of someone I never met before. He was super happy and excited to meet them and they reassured multiple times that he was ok, went to the toilet, fed him dinner & sent pictures of him out on a walk and in the garden so I was left at ease and able to enjoy my evening out for my partners birthday. Thank you both xx”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have plenty experience in caring and looking after them. I’m confident with any breed of dogs and particularly with larger breed dogs and high energy dogs as I’ve had a Vizsla and German Shepherd’s in my family previously. So, I’m happy walking any dogs of any breed and temperament, including larger breeds and high energy breeds. I have walked multiple dogs together and so am confident to walk multiple dogs if you have more than one furry best friend! I have completed countless hours of training from training for puppies and adult dogs. So I’m happy to support with following any training routine you have. I have experience with puppies all the way through to senior dogs and so can support with walking, training, administering medication, feeding, bathing and of course lots of play time and cuddles. I have flexible working and I can often work from home and so have plenty of time to walk or come round and play with your furry best friends. I can be flexible on the times of day’s I can visit/walk your dog during the week and have the most flexibility on the weekends. I will treat anyone’s home as if it’s my own. You know your pets best so I’ll work with you to follow any routines or instructions you have, for example, off lead or lead only walks and road safety.
“Mel is our go-to person for drop-in visits for our kitty whenever we are out of town. She is reliable, friendly and well-organized, and we'd recommend her for your cat care needs.”

“Hannah is a superstar and took amazing care of my two kittens. They are normally very shy towards people other than myself and partner, but by the end of the week they both let her stroke them and play with them! Feeling so lucky to have found Hannah.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since very young. Starting with a family dog, a border collie, who we were lucky enough to have from a pup to 14! To now, I have a 3 year old vizlsa who I have had since 9weeks.. I have trained him since he was a tiny puppy and now have my very own Velcro dog! However if your fur baby prefers to be the only pet, I have my parents living local that love to take care of my Barney. I also look after friends dogs when they are away, these range in size and age from a 8 year old kelpie to a 2 year old cocker poo. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes, and will welcome them into my home like they are my own 🐶 I currently work as a serving firefighter, my shift pattern allows me a lot of time off. However each week is not the same for me, I work an 8 day rotation so each week is slightly different. Please feel free to message me with queries. I have a small securely fenced garden. I also have 3 different walks on my doorstep, some of which are very quiet! I also have a large crate/ bed that can be used if you wish.
About: I have had pets most my life and love looking after them. I am happy to keep your pet entertained fed and walked while you can do the things you need worry free I have had dogs most my life, however now due to living in a small flat I am unable to have a dog of my own. So I now have the time to help others 🤍 I work 8:30am-4:30pm between Stevenage and Hertford but happy to take your pet for a walk early morning or evenings or do whatever works around this. I used to walk, feed, bath and entertain my family dogs for over 20 years so I have a lot of experience and happy to adapt this to fit your home and wishes as well.

My approach emphasises creating healthy boundaries while ensuring plenty of fun and companionship. I deeply respect not only your space but also the unique personalities of dogs and cats, treating them with the kindness they deserve. As a true animal lover, I'm committed to ensuring that every pet feels safe, happy, and cherished in my care. Mon–Fri: 7–9am · 12–2pm · 5–8pm (walks & drop-ins) Weekends: Flexible daytimes + overnight house sitting Cats: AM/PM routine is ideal (feed, litter, meds, quiet company) Dogs: Solo walks matched to age/energy; enrichment on rainy days I keep my calendar up to date and respond promptly; all bookings include photo updates. How I care for pets (and your home) Your pet’s routine is my script. I follow your instructions exactly, feeding, meds, walk times, play, and quiet time, so cats and dogs feel safe and settled while you’re away. I’m gentle, tidy, and keep communication clear with notes and photo updates every visit. In your home (house sitting & drop-ins) Security first: I double-check doors, gates, windows and keep leads by the door. No visitors, no parties—ever. I respect your privacy and only use agreed areas. Calm, consistent routine: I match your pet’s normal schedule and preferred style (shy cats get quiet company; playful pets get enrichment). Hygiene: Fresh water every visit, bowls washed, surfaces wiped. Litter scooped/reset each visit; waste disposed of properly. Medication: Comfortable with oral/topical meds when clearly explained; I log each dose in your Rover thread. Home care: Lights/blinds as instructed, plants/bins/mail handled, everything left clean and secure. Dog walks (solo only) Lead policy: I use a secure harness/collar you provide and a fixed lead. No off-lead unless you’ve given written OK and the area is safe and enclosed. Safe routes: I avoid hazards, busy roads at rush times, and stressful dog clusters; I adjust for heat, cold, or rain and bring water on longer walks. Accountability: You’ll receive Rover Cards with timing, route, and a short summary. Cat care specifics Doors and windows stay closed; I check common hide spots so indoor cats don’t slip out. I refresh water, litter, and feeding stations, then match their vibe—quiet company, play, or brushing if allowed. Multi-cat homes are fed separately as needed. Emergencies & consent I keep your vet and emergency contact details on hand. If anything seems off, I contact you immediately, follow your instructions, and, if urgent, seek vet care while keeping you updated. Trust & communication I reply quickly, keep my calendar accurate, and send clear updates (photos + what we did). My goal is simple: a safe, calm environment where your pet’s day feels normal—and you feel fully informed.
About: I love all animals, but most of my experience is with cats. That being said, I’ve cared for many dogs in the past, as well as other small animals such as hamsters. I do my best to match the energy I get from the animals. If they are shy and quiet, I won’t push them to the point of discomfort. Equally if they are playful and cuddly, they will get as much cuddles and playtime as they need! I am currently on maternity leave with my 3 month old baby, and we go on walks multiple times a day, so would be great to take a pet with us! If not a walk, I have plenty of time each day to feed pets/provide company! My approach is to match the energy the pet gives me; I won’t push a pet out of their comfort zone, and will respect their wishes as much as possible.

I’ve had alot of hands on experience with many dogs over course of 5-6 years in total. Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Welwyn Hatfield
Louise has been absolutely amazing looking after our cat Minnie whilst we have been away. She has been reliable, patient with our cat who can be very anxious, friendly and has provided regular updates. She even waited around several times when Minnie was out in case she came back so could have some company. Thanks so much Louise!

Sherry looked after my cat for a week while I was on holiday. Jessie is nearly 18 and has not been left for over 10 years so I was a bit anxious about leaving her. Sherry was so reassuring and I felt she could be trusted to take care of Jessie, I could tell she was an animal lover. I received daily updates which was lovely and eased my worry enabling me to enjoy my holiday. Jessie had a few accidents in the house but Sherry cleared up all the mess. She also gave an additional update at the end of the week and left a diagram of where Jessie had her accidents. I would not hesitate to use Sherry again and highly reccomend her.
Amanda did an amazing job of taking care of my 2 cats for a few days while I was on holiday. I had never used a pet sitting service before and reached out to her last minute and she was wonderful the whole way through. Quick to respond, extremely professional, friendly, and able to accommodate everything. She made it a really pleasurable experience. My cats were very well taken care of and happy when we returned and she did a great job of not only feeding them but giving them playtime. We will absolutely be booking with Amanda again! Was finally able to relax on my holiday!
Julia was wonderful with Ginger! She took the time to visit beforehand to get to know us and understand Ginger’s routine. She was also very flexible and available at short notice. I came home to a very happy cat, and I’ll definitely be using her services again soon.

We were delighted to find Lili. A wonderful person and perfect for our cats. Lili always stayed in touch and kept us updated after each visit. It was a relief to find somebody who was local, trustworthy and who would care for our cats and home, whilst we went on holiday.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
