“Lucia took great care of our pup Ellie over a long weekend that we were away. She was always prompt to respond, sent daily photo updates, and made sure Ellie got outside for walks and exercise daily. I would be happy to have Lucia watch Ellie again!! 🙂”

“Catalina and her husband were amazing! They took Wally on so many outings, sent me many photos and were very responsive. I didn’t have the chance to meet them beforehand but I felt so comfortable the entire time Wally was there because of their communication. They took great care of my dog and I wouldn’t hesitate to ask them to sit for him again!”

“Artemis enjoyed a month-long stay with Rodrigo and came back healthy, energetic, and happy as usual—this was her third time having fun with Rodrigo! Rodrigo was communicative and we really appreciated that Artemis was safe and well for an extended period of time.”

“Julia is a wonderful dog sitter, very kind and welcoming! We felt completely reassured leaving Japette with her for two nights. We highly recommend her and would happily book with her again next time :)”

“We were in such a rush hoping our dog would be able to find someone, and rover made that possible. Yang has been amazing since the moment we took bello. She was attentive and focused on Bello’s need. Amazing person with so much love for dogs. I would definitely rebook and recommend rover+Yang.”

“Michaela was once again brilliant with Marco. She clearly has a big affinity with dogs (certainly with Marco). We received lots of photos and videos of Marco on day trips and she was very flexible with pick up and drop off times etc.”

“Anna and her partner Philip took such wonderful care of our dog Atlas! It was our first time using Rover and we were a bit nervous as he was unwell the week before we travelled, but Anna was incredibly communicative and sent us frequent updates and photos. Atlas looked like he had the best time with them! Atlas looks forward to visiting again in a few weeks’ time and we are super grateful for the amazing care from Anna and Philip! Thank you!”

“We were delighted to have Gabriella sit our dog. She was so helpful and kind sending regular up dates and photos etc. The dog obviously loved his time with her. We would heartily recommend her as an A1 sitter.”

“Louise was absolutely amazing with my Cavalier King Charles Tao. I would not hesitate to rebook with Louise she genuinely cares for dogs and she was so lovely with mine - patient, calm and welcoming. A home away from home. Thank you Louise! You are a gem”

“Can’t thank you enough! We had our first over night stay ever and Elisabetta was phenomenal! Sent plenty of updates, loads of pics and completely put me at ease. Not to mention the pooch, he came back happier than ever. Thank you! We will be back for sure x”

“Priscilla was absolutely brilliant with Tubby. Extremely quick, clear communication, and sent lots of cute pictures during the stay. It was clear how much she loved dogs & I felt instantly at ease leaving my pup with her. Highly recommend!”

“Roberta was fantastic! She was able to help me out with a last minute boarding stay. My Ness loved her, and went back in for more hugs even when I picked her up. Roberta was very professional, ensured Ness was fed, hydrated, cool, rested and gave appropriate walks on the hottest day if the year. I would highly recommend Roberta, she has great communication and a lovely temperament with the animals in her care.”

“Nayla was great! She cared so much for Brinjal, and looked after him incredibly well. Brinjal had such a happy stay with her. She was responsive and thoughtful, and very communicative throughout. Would certainly recommend Nayla for anyone looking to have someone take care of their pet!”

We had a great experience leaving Dosa with Tiago for the day! Dosa was very well looked after and clearly had a wonderful time with Tiago. We received lots of pictures and regular updates throughout the day, which was really reassuring and made us feel completely comfortable knowing Dosa was in good hands. Tiago was attentive, caring, and easy to communicate with. We’re very happy to have found him and are already looking forward to Dosa’s next daycare with Tiago. Highly recommend!

Julia was absolutely lovely and took such great care of Mochi. She was very attentive and responsible, and kept me updated regularly on how Mochi was doing, which I really appreciated. Mochi also really liked her and seemed very happy and comfortable staying with her. I would definitely recommend Julia and would be very happy to have her look after Mochi again! 🥰

Elizabeth did an amazing job looking after Charlie while we were away. They provided excellent care with plenty of walks, feeding, and playtime, while keeping us reassured with regular photo updates. Charlie returned home happy and relaxed, and we will definitely use this trustworthy service again.

Lizzy and Eduardo were great with Mochi, they kept us updated with photos and messages and it was clear that Mochi was well taken care of and had a great time with them. We also arranged a meet-up before and Lizzy was great; super attentive and helpful, and really put Mochi at ease straight away. I'd recommend Lizzy and Eduardo to anyone and can't wait to book again!

Louise has been extremely good with Leone, when we picked him up he was very relaxed and happy. I’ll definitely recommend Louise and book her again when needed! We had a problem with our flight delayed and she was kind enough to accommodate and postpone the pick up time. Thanks you Louise!

Joyce took care of Saatchi for two days, and we had such a great experience with her. She regularly kept us updated with photos, including his meals and potty breaks, which really gave us peace of mind. She even put cartoons on for Saatchi and let him make himself at home on the couch and bed. 🥹 When we picked him up, we could immediately tell that he had been very well looked after, he was clean, relaxed, and happy. We’d be more than happy to have Joyce look after Saatchi again whenever we’re back in London. Highly recommended!

Our pups had a great time with Viktoriia! She sent us pictures and videos of our girls exploring, snuggling, and otherwise having a calm, peaceful experience. Her home is easy to reach via public transit, which is great because we don't own a car. Thank you for your care and attention to our golden-age pups!

Greig and Courtney are amazing! We left our 8.5-month-old Shiba Inu, Ayo, with them overnight for the very first time, and we were obviously a little worried beforehand about how it was all going to go. Ayo is very affectionate and is used to having us by her side 24/7. Greig and Courtney immediately put us at ease, and Ayo felt very comfortable in their home. Greig took her to the office the following day, and she seemed very happy there too. When we came to pick her up, she was genuinely excited to see us. However, after a few kisses and cuddles, she ran straight back to Greig and Courtney! When it was finally time to leave, Ayo jumped onto their bed and lay there like a queen, clearly in no rush to head home with us. 😂 Greig and Courtney took such great care of our little pup, Ayo, and we will definitely leave her with them again. Thank you, guys! We are so happy to have found you! 🫶

Hanna was great! We did a couple of meet & greets to make sure my dog is familiar with her, and she made an effort to understand what my dog needs as how she behaves so she can provide the best care possible. Throughout the stay she sent me regular updates, and when it was time to go home my dog wanted to stay. Both my dog and I are very grateful ❤️🐶

O honestly couldn’t have wished for better people to look after Kenzo. Lluis & Olivier are two truly wonderful people who have become so much more than dog sitters to us.🫂 They have become part of Kenzo’s little world, and their home feels like a second home to him.🏡The excitement on Kenzo’s face every time he realises he’s going to their house says everything. He absolutely loves being with them, and knowing that he is so happy, safe and loved while he’s there means the world to me! There’s something incredibly special about being able to leave your dog with someone and have complete peace of mind, knowing he isn’t simply being looked after, he is being cared for, spoiled, cuddled and treated like one of their own.🥹I am so grateful to have found Lluis & Olivier. Kenzo clearly chose them as his second family, and I couldn’t agree more.🐾 Thank you both for loving my little boy as much as you do. I couldn’t recommend you enough!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
