“Artemis enjoyed a month-long stay with Rodrigo and came back healthy, energetic, and happy as usual—this was her third time having fun with Rodrigo! Rodrigo was communicative and we really appreciated that Artemis was safe and well for an extended period of time.”

“Rob had our 4 month old cockapoo overnight and she had a great time. We met the day before, as was a last minute booking. He made her feel comfortable and safe and was very communicative with me while he had her. Will definitely use him again”

“This was my dog’s first stay with anyone who isn’t me and I couldn’t have picked a better person. He took to Lluis straight away and stayed there for a week. Lluis was very good at sending me photos and little updates, and when I picked him up, he looked very at home! It’s so nice to have found someone I know I can leave him with without worrying. Thanks Lluis! 🙏”

“I highly recommend Yang for anyone looking for a sitter. She was very responsive, always on time, and provided great care to Fuji during her stay. She regularly shared photos and videos, which made me feel reassured while I was away. Fuji came home happy and healthy. Thank you Yang, for taking great care of Fuji!”

“Catalina and her husband were amazing! They took Wally on so many outings, sent me many photos and were very responsive. I didn’t have the chance to meet them beforehand but I felt so comfortable the entire time Wally was there because of their communication. They took great care of my dog and I wouldn’t hesitate to ask them to sit for him again!”

“Olivia has looked after our two Golden Retrievers, Windy and Bailey, several times, and we couldn’t be happier with her. She is incredibly reliable, kind, and caring, and we always feel that our dogs are in the best hands with her. She keeps us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gives us great peace of mind while we’re away. Windy and Bailey are always happy and well cared for when they’re with her. We highly recommend Olivia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and wonderful dog sitter!🥰🤗”

“Maria was amazing - she really looked after Catsby, sent me loads of videos and updates. She even bought Catsby a little cocoon bed so that she can curl up in there when she wanted a rest and quiet time. Catsby settled really quickly into Maria's and her family's routine. As I was boarding Catsby because our house was being renovated, I was also able to drop by to visit. I would definitely recommend Maria for your floofs.”

“Lucia looked after our dog Rufio while we were away, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She lives in a fantastic spot for dogs, with access to a secure, gated garden nearby where they can play and explore. Lucia and her family are incredibly warm, friendly, and clearly have a genuine love for animals. Throughout Rufio’s stay, she kept us updated with daily messages and adorable photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. She’s always quick to respond and made the whole process feel effortless. I truly can’t recommend Lucia highly enough — she’s amazing, and Rufio absolutely loved his time with her. It’s such a relief to know we’ve found someone we trust to care for him in the future. He already can’t wait for his next stay!”

“Bridget and her partner went above and beyond minding Millie and absolutely exceeded expectations. They were so sweet about updating me on her daily activities, sending me lots of lovely photos and caring for her like their own. Towards the end of her stay, Bridget noticed a flea and some bites, but immediately contacted me to see what the best course of action was. She was so kind to wash Millie’s bedding and offer to grab flea medication on the spot. I have never felt more at ease having Millie minded by someone, so I’m very grateful for the care and consideration Bridget and her partner put into this boarding. I can absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a lovely environment for your pup to stay in while you’re away!”
“Tolly had a wonderful time with Gina and Bailey. Lots of walks, cuddles and even a bath and groom! He came back happy and relaxed from his holiday. I had lots of updates and it was lovely to see him having such a fun time.”

“Emma was as brilliant as ever! She and Buchizya take amazing care of Onion and keep us updated on him regularly. They provide such a safe and caring home for him when we are away - he loves going there!”

“Simply amazing. Michaela and Oto are both so lovely and leaving my 14 year old dog is normally a worry, but as soon as Michaela and Oto took him, my worries quickly disappeared! Red was very well looked after with plenty of pictures and videos everyday showing how my dog seems to be having a better time without me!! Highly recommended and will definitely be using Michaela and Oto again. Thank you again to you both ❤️💐🐕🐶”

“Elsa took great care of Toshi while I was away for 4 days. Communication and handover arrangements were really easy, and Elsa sent regular updates and photos of Toshi. Highly recommended!”

It was pleasure to meet Isabella and Tom! It was our first time leaving our 13 week old puppy Daphne for the night and she had a wonderful time. After meeting Isabella and Tom, it was so obvious they knew how to care for our little girl and they were so accommodating and understanding of all her needs. We had constant communication and updates which also made us feel at ease during her stay. We will not doubt be using Isabella and Tom again in the future and would certainly recommend them!

Imogen took such great care of my dog! He looked so happy, relaxed, and comfortable in all the photos she shared. She took him out for regular walks and kept me updated with photos throughout his stay, which was really reassuring and lovely to see. I really appreciated how attentive and caring she was ❤️ Thank you so much!

I could not ask for a better pet sitter than Nat!!! My Shiba baby is a very picky girl who doesn’t eat regularly, takes awhile to get used to someone and doesn’t like walking, but with Nat and her lovely family, my baby was eating and walking so well and pooping so healthy (twice a day). All the pictures Nat sent me of my dog was her being happy, chilling with her belly up and sleeping peacefully. Mona will miss your family so much! Thank you so much again!!!

Lexie was absolutely incredible! She was so kind and accommodating from our first meet-and-greet, and we immediately felt comfortable leaving Matcha with her. She was incredibly communicative, sending lots of photos, videos, and updates throughout the day. She also went above and beyond with Matcha’s care, especially since she had injured her leg beforehand, and was so thoughtful about making her comfortable. She even gifted Matcha a toy she loved! We couldn’t recommend Lexie enough and would absolutely book with her again!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
