“Lauren and her family were perfect to look after Cooper. This was our first time leaving him with anyone and we immediately felt comfortable upon meeting them. We were sent daily updates, photos and videos of his adventures. This massively relieved any unease we had. If she will have him we will definitely rebook Lauren for our next trip away. Thank you so much.”

“My dog - Amber stayed with Jack and his wife for 8 nights. They both took great care of her and I could tell from all the photos that she enjoyed staying with them. Jack was excellent at keeping in touch each day and he sent so many excellent photos. Amber is an elderly dog and Jack was very organised and responsible with her medication. Amber is incontinent and Jack gave her excellent care and kept her dry and clean. I would recommend Jack very highly to anyone looking for excellent and caring boarding.”

“Céline and her partner took such a great care of Max. He stayed with them for 12 days and was visibility happy and comfortable when we collected him. Communication was excellent, we received daily updates and pictures throughout his stay. We absolutely recommend and will book again without hesitation”

“Dolly had a great stay for a few days with Natasha and George. They are real dog lovers and are very easy to work with - they sent regular updates, and with the hot weather they made sure walkies were done early before it got hot! Dolly was upset to come home but she will be back soon.”

“Emily was great with Woody and it was clear he settled in and really enjoyed his stay. He was also welcomed by Emily’s dog Todd. It was reassuring for us to be able to go away knowing that Woody was in safe hands”

“Nayla was great! She cared so much for Brinjal, and looked after him incredibly well. Brinjal had such a happy stay with her. She was responsive and thoughtful, and very communicative throughout. Would certainly recommend Nayla for anyone looking to have someone take care of their pet!”

“Ruta took fantastic care of Uzi and she had such a great time, taken on many walks and playing plenty of ball with her which is one her favourite things to do. Would 100% certainly request to Use Ruta fantastic dog boarding services again.”

“Alexei and Lin were the perfect hosts to our dog Skye. They took the time to get to know her at an initial meet and greet, and gave her such a lovely 5 days whilst we were on holiday. They sent daily photos and videos so we could see just how happy she was on her walks, and playing in their garden at home. We can’t recommend them enough.”

“I’m so happy I found Vilma! She kindly agreed to look after my cat, Luna, on very short notice while I was away for a few days. She took such great care of Luna and made sure to send me regular photos and videos, which really put my mind at ease. Luna looked so comfortable and happy — it truly felt like she was at home and enjoying her little holiday with Vilma. I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter and will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend! 🐾”

“Lauren and her partner were absolutely great, they agreed to look after Lux with less than 24 hrs notice (someone else had cancelled) and were so lovely. Lux had an amazing time and was well looked after - she returned a very tired pup which is a big win!”

About: I have previously owned a German Shepherd Vizsla in New Zealand. I work from home full time so can help keep dogs company with ease. There is a large large park up the road from me which makes for a good lunch time walk or to throw the ball depending on their recall. Happy to discuss your needs. I currently work full time from home. I take a run in the morning before work, short walks at lunch to get my steps up and in the evenings also. happy to have the dogo company at short notice, 7 days a week when we have no plans. I enjoy the company of dogs, and after losing my old mate in New Zealand I thought this might bring back some laughs for me and the family. I do have a fenced small yard, it's not big enough to play in but it is outside. If I'm looking after them in your home, I'd just follow the rules you set, I'n my home I'd take them for a walk or run ro tire them out in the morning and the same in the evening. Easy.
“Oliver and his partner looked after our dog Milo for 4 days and kept us updated with daily photos. I was happy that Milo got on well with their dog Jax. Will use their services again. Thank you for taking good care of Milo.”

“Man Ching was friendly and welcoming. She looked after Amber very well and coped well with her medications. She communicated well and sent photos during the stay. Thanks Man Ching”

“She is an excellent dog sitter. She is very attentive and sent me videos of my dog's condition multiple times a day. Thanks to her, I could spend my time away with peace of mind. I am grateful for her kindness and consideration.”

“Fanni took amazing care of my baby angel Sushi, a two year old pandemic puppy who is shy around dogs and slow to warm up. But in no time Sushi felt right at home. It is such a relief knowing your pet is being loved while they’re away! Highly recommend. Clear communication from host, regular check ins, lovely house, and adorable, sweet, and gentle dogs in the home.”

“Melissa and Troy were first class sitters. From the first moment we met Melissa during the “meet and greet” session there was clear chemistry between us and especially with Louis. He was extremely well cared for and felt totally at home during his stay. I would have no hesitation in booking with Melissa again . Top marks and thank you so much .”

My cockapoo was very well looked after by Marina & Guido. She was taken on plenty of good walks and I received lots of photo updates every day. They were happy to have a quick meet and greet beforehand, and communication was very good throughout. I would be very happy for them to look after my dog again.

I felt so comfortable leaving my little Yorkiepoo with Jack. The fact that Paddy has additional needs did not phase him at all. Paddy was a little anxious at first (being a complete mummy’s boy!) but Jack was so kind and welcoming that I had complete trust in him caring for Paddy. Jack was confident and happy to administer Paddy’s medication during his stay. Communication was excellent with continuous updates and pictures throughout the weekend. They certainly looked like they had a fun weekend! I would 100% recommend and use Jack again. Thank you 🙏 Jack for taking such good care of Paddy.
Danica was simply amazing!! We had to book her last minute for a long stay and she looked after Bruno really well - she kept us updated with pics and vids every day and told us what he was being up to. He was so happy at her place and she kept him busy! We really appreciate you Danica and thanks again!!

I was very happy with my puppy's stay with Nayla and her mum and would recommend them for their care and attentiveness. I didn't get to meet Nayla due to changing my drop off and collection times, which they willing accommodated, but Nayla's mum was lovely, an obvious and affectionate dog lover. Nayla updated me daily with photos and news and it really put my mind at rest, this being the first time we have ever left Evie.

As alwayas Piotr took good care of mango, he seems enjoyed all the long walks and outside time. They took care and adjusted the food based on how hungry mango is or how much walk he has done, which made sure that he does not loose weight. I totally recommend as they consider the pet as their own and you can be at peace

Hope was amazing! Extremely professional, great communication and clearly has lots of experience with dogs as ours is not always the easiest. Our large, enthusiastic German shepherd had a great time with her, was super well looked-after and we returned to a happy, well-exercised, properly stimulated, chill dog. Not an easy feat! And she had him for a whole week and was really super flexible and kind about our scattiness. We will be reaching out again for sure, and will do a better job of being more-prepared dog owners. But Hope really saved us this time and we are so grateful!

Fran was great looking after our corgi Thunder for an overnight booking. There were lots of regular updates which were reassuring and Fran was very understanding of Thunders nerves and quirks (with him being a rescue). Her dog Indy sounded like he was a great calming companion to Thunder as well which I’m sure helped settle him. Overall so pleased, will definitely be booking with Fran and Indy again! :)

Lucia was absolutely incredible looking after my dog, Pluto, for a week! I couldn't be happier with her service. She kept me updated every single day with lovely messages and photos of his activities, which completely put my mind at ease. Pluto came home so happy and content. I highly recommend Lucia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Anna and her family looked after Maple who is a rescue dog, flexible kind thoughtful and Maple was very well looked after. Got lots of videos and photos put my mind at rest. I would use Anna again and already planning another stay. I think Maple was a little sad to go she had a wonderful time with them. Thank you x

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
