“Thank you, Jack, for taking such good care of Mia! She returned home happy after two weeks of boarding, and Jack sent us daily photo and video updates of her antics. She kept cool and safe on hot days in Jack's air-conditioned apartment, and she enjoyed playing with the other dogs. I'd recommend Jack as a dog sitter; we were delighted with his expert care of Mia.”

“Dolly had a great stay for a few days with Natasha and George. They are real dog lovers and are very easy to work with - they sent regular updates, and with the hot weather they made sure walkies were done early before it got hot! Dolly was upset to come home but she will be back soon.”

“Nayla was an excellent dog sitter. She was very sweet with Skippy and her own little dog was very sweet and friendly. She took great care of Skippy and I would recommend using her services.”

“Thank you, Ally and Brad, for all the cuddles, love and attention you gave Doris and Daisy while we were away on holiday. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay and were clearly very happy and well cared for. It was very reassuring to know they were in such kind and capable hands. We would definitely recommend Ally and Brad and will certainly contact them again for our next holiday.”

“Our mad little dog Dusty Springfield had a great stay with Alexei and Lin. They were very understanding and accepting of all her little quirks and behavioural abnormalities. They took her swimming daily and kept us up to date with pics and vids. Couldn’t recommend them enough!! We even suspect Dusty is already looking forward to our next holiday so she can hang with them again!”

About: Grown up with dogs and have been taking care of dogs for the last 10 years. A stone’s throw away from Wimbledon Common, where they enjoy several walks a day. I also have a large secure garden where they can roam freely. Start the day with a walk on Wimbledon Common. I’m at home with the dogs all day and have a large, secure garden where they can have fun and games all day. Then an early evening walk to finish the day. As well having a secure fenced garden, I also have a friendly Bichon frise, who loves other dogs. Having dogs all my life, I am very comfortable with older dogs that need more care.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we met, we felt completely confident that Daisy was going to be in safe hands. Throughout our time away, Vivian provided excellent care and went above and beyond to make sure Daisy was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. The daily photos and updates were very much appreciated and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was wonderful to see how happy and settled our dog was, and it was clear how much care and attention she received. Daisy and the sitters own dog Boa looked like they were having a blast with numerous walks a day and plenty of fun and games. We’re incredibly grateful for the fantastic care and would wholeheartedly recommend Vivian to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Freya and her partner looked after our little dachshund Bruno when we were away. They have been amazing, giving us updates, sending us pictures and taking Bruno out for little walks ☺️ we couldn’t recommend them more! Bruno was a very little happy pup with them 🥰

Mel and her husband looked after Milo, our cocker spaniel for 11 days while we were on holiday. He had the time of his life! Lots of lovely daily walks, cooling off with paddling in a dog friendly river and a first time trip on a bus which he enjoyed! He was cared for and loved by Mel and her husband with lots of lovely photos daily for us to see him enjoying his fun days, and lots of cuddles! Mel and her husband were the best dog sitters and we are very happy to recommend their services and wouldn’t hesitate to give them 5 stars.

What a lovely family!! Mochi is still young and very new to boarding (first time with new people and dogs!) Jack gave regular updates about Mochi which was great. They also did meet and greet frist which was reassuring and responsible. It's always been a worry when we go away but now we've found Jack and his wife, we are very happy to announce we can finally enjoy our time away without worrying about Mochi knowing he's in good hands! Yayy!

Hugo is very responsible, organised and caring. Our boy spent a couple of weeks with Hugo and his wife Carané, we could tell he had a good time. Hugo’s attention to detail and sense of responsibility and care for our boy really impressed us. Most importantly Hugo is such a lovely person which makes the whole experience so pleasant.

Priyanka accommodated us at the last minute, which I really appreciated. My dog Zoe was clearly very happy with her and seemed to feel safe and comfortable in her care. Priyanka was also very responsive and easy to communicate with. I would definitely book with her again:)

Sebastian & Josy are such a lovely young couple and took great care of Bruce & Charlie. We felt immediately at ease leaving Bruce & Charlie. We recieved regular updates with pictures of their walks and when we collected them it was obvious that they had had a great time. Very happy and relaxed. We would highly recommend Sebastian & Josy as pet sitters.

Sophie cared for Thisbe for a week whilst I was abroad, and I had 100% peace of mind the entire time - she sent me daily updates and photos of what they got up to and how she was doing, giving me reassurance that I could focus entirely on my trip without worry. Sophie has been flexible and happy to follow my specific instructions about Thisbe’s care. Thisbe seems to have had a great time, I will definitely come back again next time xx

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
