“As Elza, our Italian greyhound, had stayed with Dong Mei and Thomas before, we knew she would be in safe hands and well looked after. They kept in regular contact and sent pictures through every day. We are again very pleased with their care and would certainly use them again next time.”

“Maximus was looked after beautifully. He was kept busy and was very happy. Would highly recommend Ross and his lovely wife. Will definitely use again as Max enjoyed his stay!”

“My dog stayed at Lorena’s for 5 nights and was well looked after. I got regular updates from Lorena when I was on holiday which gave me peace of mind. My dog appears to have enjoyed all the amenities that Lorena’s gardens offers including the balls pool. He came back tired and much calmer. Also as he had to interact with other dogs, he is better behaved. I will definitely use Lorena again!”

“Second time Juliana and family have looked after Luna. Always has lots of play and exercise. Juliana cares for her brilliantly and Luna always comes back happy and healthy.”

“If Bella could talk, she would be telling you the same as me. She had a wonderful time. She met a very friendly family and new doggy friend- Chunks. Maira sent photos and a video showing that Bella really enjoyed her stay. As this was the first time we had left Bella with anyone it really put our minds at rest to receive them. We were thrilled to see her so comfortable and happy. We would DEFINITELY recommend and definitely use again.👍 Big, big thank you Highly recommended!”

“John-Rob is an excellent dog carer. Our cocker spaniel Toffee has stayed with him twice and she gets the best care with John-Rob. He takes her for long walks and keeps us updated regularly with photos and comments on how she is doing. We highly recommend John-Rob!”

“Sharon is fantastic! She has an obvious love of dogs and did a great watching our dog overnight. She asked us questions to get to know Kiki in advance and seemed genuinely excited to spend more time with her after our initial meeting. Sharon is very caring and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter! Thank you Sharon for taking such good care of Kiki!”

“This was our first time leaving our dog at someone else’s house. I was a bit worried at first but after seeing Mariia and her family l knew Theo will in the right hands . During his stay , Mariia kept me updated everyday .”

“We couldn’t recommend Clare and Jack more highly! From the moment we met them, they were so friendly and welcoming, making sure both my partner and I felt completely comfortable leaving Bailey, our 2-year-old dachshund, in their care, especially as this was the first time we’d left him over night with someone new. They took the time to listen to all our needs and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. It’s so clear how much they truly love dogs, as the care and affection they showed Bailey was amazing. They kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which was such a comfort, and it was obvious how happy he was with them. They have a large garden, which was ideal for Bailey to have a run around to burn off energy and he loved having a sniff at all the smells in their garden which helped stimulate his brain. They took him on lovely long walks where he saw horses, cows and sheep, played all of his favourite games as well as enrichment activities, and gave him endless cuddles and attention. Bailey came home a very happy (and tired!) little dachshund, which says it all. We’re so grateful to Clare and Jack for looking after him as if he were their own, and we’ll definitely be asking them again in the future!”

“Alison amd family are exceptional dog lovers, which is such a known factor based on frequent videos and photos that Alison sends us of the closeness they share with our Twigz. Claude, their doggy and our Twigz, share a close bond and are good play mates. Keep up the good work Alison and family.❤️❤️”

“Natalie was amazing with our dog Kyro and he loved staying with her from the pics that were sent across! Natalie was also so accommodating with our last minute booking and I would 100% recommend her - she was quick to respond, kept us informed and sent over pics. Thanks again Natalie, will definitely be coming back!”

“Sarah was great. Very friendly and comminuted well. Sent us updates and our doggy had a great time and even came home having had a wash and blow dry! Would use Sarah again. Thanks Sarah!xx”

“Neena is a wonderful caring person , and looked after my fussy Bruno very well I felt reassured at all times that my dog was safe, loved and cared for whilst with Neena . Thank you so much .”

“This is Lola’s 2nd visit and you can tell how much she loves it with Arron from how excited she gets when we arrive to drop her off! Lola is always so well taken care of and I know she is comfortable and safe with Arron. I always receive updates and pictures which is great. I would 100% recommend Arron to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Finch loved his stay with Nicholas and Yenny. He and Chokko became the best of friends during his stay. This was our first time leaving Finch with anyone outside of family and friends and they kept our minds at ease with daily updates throughout our trip.”

“Tilly has just returned home from a 16 night first visit to Dan, Carmen and girls. Tilly has never stayed away from home before and is a very nervous dog, and Dan kindly agreed at extremely short notice to look after her for us. Dan worked very patiently with Tilly to gain her trust and in an amazingly short time, Tilly was happy, settled and part of their family. We can’t thank them all enough for the love and attention they gave to Tilly during her stay, and she is really looking forward to staying with them again in January in what has become her second home 😁 Dan provided regular updates, photos and videos which were lovely to receive and provided reassurance that Tilly was very much at home. We would 100% recommend Dan, Carmen and girls to look after your dog, Tilly is missing them already !”

“Susan was Very patient and caring towards my dog who is nervous in new homes and takes a while to settle. Her dog Dolly is very friendly and sweet too”

I left Milo with Agneta for 2 weeks and she took amazing care of him. Agneta sent me regular updates and videos. She spent time to understand Milo’s routine and even did early and late walks during hot weather. Milo would definitely be back with Agneta for future stays.
Great experience with Begum, Ozzy was very comfortable and I got lots of lovely pics from her. Begum seemed very comfortable and experienced so I had a lot of confidence in her ability to care well for Ozzy. Would happily rebook with her and recommend her to others.

Teddy had a wonderful time with Mariarosaria and her family! He clearly bonded with all of them and their adorable dog. Thank you for the fantastic communication, frequent pictures and videos and reassurance while we were away on our holiday. Teddy has been so well looked after and I would absolutely recommend Mariarosaria - very understanding, warm, flexible and communicative. I will certainly rebook!

Aniko was an amazing host for Daisy. She and her wonderful partner were attentive to Daisy’s needs and made adaptations to care for her in the heat, even sleeping downstairs with her where it was nice and cool. I received lots of photos and videos of Daisy’s fun-filled days and I knew from her wagging tail that she was super relaxed and happy on her holiday! Daisy was well and truly treated like a member of their family and we had an emotional goodbye when I collected her. Thank you guys, it was so kind of you to going above and beyond to provide her with so much love and care 🤍 Daisy is already looking forward to her next holiday with you ☀️

Julie is a really lovely lady, calm, gentle with an abundance of love and care to all animals. Mocha took her instantly when we met for a meet and greet and then when she stayed there, she was absolutely delighted to see Julie again and I know they had a fun packed evening.

Branston had another fabulous stay with Conor. He certainly enjoys his time with Conor who keeps us posted with photos & videos, all with Branston wagging his tail. We will definitely be using Conor again as we feel we can enjoy our holiday knowing our little pup is in a happy place.

Irina looked after my dog Mary in the most impossibly hot weather with ease. She was absolutely amazing. Walked her when it was safe too, followed her routine, managed her terrier habits , and looked after her so wonderfully with the most gorgeous daily updates. If I could give more than five stars I would. I can’t thank Irina enough and will be booking again for sure.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
