“We already told Diana that we’re so grateful to have found her and her lovely family. Diana treats Suki as her own and showers him with love - couldn’t ask for any more. We received daily check ins and photo/video updates of their walks. We’d recommend her to anyone and Suki will definitely be staying with them again! Thank you.”

“Maximus was looked after beautifully. He was kept busy and was very happy. Would highly recommend Ross and his lovely wife. Will definitely use again as Max enjoyed his stay!”

“Mariia accepted our booking for an overnight stay for our dog at short notice, which we really appreciated, and also was kind enough to allow me to pop by a few days beforehand, so Monty could meet her. Very pleased, and will book again in future.”

“It was Margo's first boarding stay at Juliana and Daniel, she had a lovely 5 day sleepover with their dog Mango. We could see she had a great time with daily updates and photos. Juliana and Daniel looked after her really well!!”

“Sharon took great care of my dog Poppy whilst we were away on holiday. She was attentive and despite the unusually hot weather whilst she stayed Sharon ensured Poppy got out and about taking her out early in the morning and late in the day. I can thoroughly recommend Sharon and hope to use her again in the future.”

“Kylo had a great time with Maira, her dog Chunks and the family. I met Maira for a walk before Kylo stayed and knew she was a dog lover, warm, friendly and positive. Maira kept me up to date with photos and videos regularly so I was easily reassured he was safe and cared for. Would definitely recommend and book Maira again.”

“I cannot recommend Alessia enough! She is caring and considerate and I’ve never felt more at ease leaving Willow in someone’s care. We had a couple of meet ups before her stay to make sure Willow was comfortable and Alessia kept me updated throughout. The only thing I was worried about was that Willow might not want to come back home :)”

“Can’t speak highly enough. Professional couple and felt immediately at ease leaving our Border Terrier with them. Really appreciated the meet and greet prior and the attention to detail of the dogs needs. Whilst aw away we received regular pics and comments. Will be using again.”

“Ronnie had a fantastic time with John-Rob, and we were so pleased he settled in well and we were sent regular updates and photos so we had peace of mind. Ronnie is looking forward to a return visit.”

“We couldn’t recommend Clare and Jack more highly! From the moment we met them, they were so friendly and welcoming, making sure both my partner and I felt completely comfortable leaving Bailey, our 2-year-old dachshund, in their care, especially as this was the first time we’d left him over night with someone new. They took the time to listen to all our needs and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. It’s so clear how much they truly love dogs, as the care and affection they showed Bailey was amazing. They kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which was such a comfort, and it was obvious how happy he was with them. They have a large garden, which was ideal for Bailey to have a run around to burn off energy and he loved having a sniff at all the smells in their garden which helped stimulate his brain. They took him on lovely long walks where he saw horses, cows and sheep, played all of his favourite games as well as enrichment activities, and gave him endless cuddles and attention. Bailey came home a very happy (and tired!) little dachshund, which says it all. We’re so grateful to Clare and Jack for looking after him as if he were their own, and we’ll definitely be asking them again in the future!”

“It has been four instances, since we availed of Alison's pet sitting services, to look after our Twigz and we are thrilled to say, without a shadow of doubt, that not just Twigz, but Walter and myself are very fortunate to have met Alison and her family on this most amazing site (Rover). Twigz has established a unique bond with Alison's pet dog (Claude) and all on all, this established relationship is growing rapidly each time, not only with Claude, but also with Alison's beautiful dog loving family. We received updates on Twigz, everyday with photos, videos and messages. We would highly recommend this family for dog sitting, as they are way beyond compare. A big thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to Alison and family.❤️❤️”

“Kady was nothing short of amazing looking after our 6 month old pup, Rio, for an overnight stay. It was our first time using Rover, and she instantly put us at ease with her care, updates, and kindness. Rio came back happy, calm, and well looked after. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking with her again! 10/10”

“Maya had a brilliant first stay and we couldn’t be happier. Communication was excellent throughout, with regular updates, photos and videos, which really put us at ease. Her setup is perfect for dogs and from the moment we dropped Maya off, we could tell she was going to settle in quickly. She was also great with Maya’s feeding routine and medicine, which Maya is currently on. When we picked her up, Maya was happy and clearly well looked after, especially considering it was her first time staying there. We feel really comfortable and settled knowing Maya will be going back for her next few visits. Highly recommend!”

“Conor was absolutely brilliant. He was really caring & considerate about our puppy’s needs. We felt at ease leaving our puppy with him for the weekend and we will definitely be using him again!”

I left Milo with Agneta for 2 weeks and she took amazing care of him. Agneta sent me regular updates and videos. She spent time to understand Milo’s routine and even did early and late walks during hot weather. Milo would definitely be back with Agneta for future stays.
Great experience with Begum, Ozzy was very comfortable and I got lots of lovely pics from her. Begum seemed very comfortable and experienced so I had a lot of confidence in her ability to care well for Ozzy. Would happily rebook with her and recommend her to others.

Teddy had a wonderful time with Mariarosaria and her family! He clearly bonded with all of them and their adorable dog. Thank you for the fantastic communication, frequent pictures and videos and reassurance while we were away on our holiday. Teddy has been so well looked after and I would absolutely recommend Mariarosaria - very understanding, warm, flexible and communicative. I will certainly rebook!

Aniko was an amazing host for Daisy. She and her wonderful partner were attentive to Daisy’s needs and made adaptations to care for her in the heat, even sleeping downstairs with her where it was nice and cool. I received lots of photos and videos of Daisy’s fun-filled days and I knew from her wagging tail that she was super relaxed and happy on her holiday! Daisy was well and truly treated like a member of their family and we had an emotional goodbye when I collected her. Thank you guys, it was so kind of you to going above and beyond to provide her with so much love and care 🤍 Daisy is already looking forward to her next holiday with you ☀️

Julie is a really lovely lady, calm, gentle with an abundance of love and care to all animals. Mocha took her instantly when we met for a meet and greet and then when she stayed there, she was absolutely delighted to see Julie again and I know they had a fun packed evening.

Branston had another fabulous stay with Conor. He certainly enjoys his time with Conor who keeps us posted with photos & videos, all with Branston wagging his tail. We will definitely be using Conor again as we feel we can enjoy our holiday knowing our little pup is in a happy place.

Irina looked after my dog Mary in the most impossibly hot weather with ease. She was absolutely amazing. Walked her when it was safe too, followed her routine, managed her terrier habits , and looked after her so wonderfully with the most gorgeous daily updates. If I could give more than five stars I would. I can’t thank Irina enough and will be booking again for sure.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
