“Highly recommend Dongmei and Thomas! Wonderful and kind couple! Teddy was right at home from the word go. Lots of photos of walks and cuddles and communication was so quick and easy! I’m so happy I found this wonderful home to be Teddys 2nd home away from home! Thank you so much! I know Teddy had a blast!”

“Diana is fab and took such good care of Alfie during our holiday. He was so happy and well cared for by Diana and her family and we will definitely be going to Diana in the future.”

“Maximus was looked after beautifully. He was kept busy and was very happy. Would highly recommend Ross and his lovely wife. Will definitely use again as Max enjoyed his stay!”

“I was a bit worried about leaving my older dog with a sitter as he gets anxious easily these days and needs extra care and meds. A friend recommended John-Rob. From the very first update I received, I could tell Pickles was in great hands. John-Rob is not only amazing with dogs, but also brilliant at communicating and making worried dog owners more relaxed! :) He kept me regularly updated with Pickles’ adventures, sent lots of pics and I was able to enjoy my holiday without worrying about it. I picked up a happy, relaxed dog. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!”
“Mariia did a wonderful job of welcoming our slightly reticent poodle, Mabel. She stayed with Mariia for three nights and was looked after as another member of the family which was so comforting for us to know. Mariia kept in touch with photos and updates and always responded promptly when messaged. Thoroughly recommend!”

“Second time Juliana and family have looked after Luna. Always has lots of play and exercise. Juliana cares for her brilliantly and Luna always comes back happy and healthy.”

“We couldn’t recommend Clare and Jack more highly! From the moment we met them, they were so friendly and welcoming, making sure both my partner and I felt completely comfortable leaving Bailey, our 2-year-old dachshund, in their care, especially as this was the first time we’d left him over night with someone new. They took the time to listen to all our needs and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. It’s so clear how much they truly love dogs, as the care and affection they showed Bailey was amazing. They kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which was such a comfort, and it was obvious how happy he was with them. They have a large garden, which was ideal for Bailey to have a run around to burn off energy and he loved having a sniff at all the smells in their garden which helped stimulate his brain. They took him on lovely long walks where he saw horses, cows and sheep, played all of his favourite games as well as enrichment activities, and gave him endless cuddles and attention. Bailey came home a very happy (and tired!) little dachshund, which says it all. We’re so grateful to Clare and Jack for looking after him as if he were their own, and we’ll definitely be asking them again in the future!”

“From the moment we met Lorena we knew that she was the right sitter for Milo while we were away. Milo stayed with Lorena for 8 nights and she regularly messaged to keep us updated on how he was doing. We cannot recommend Lorena enough and will definitely use her again”

“Sharon looked after Scamper perfectly and we could not have asked for better care. He was incredibly well cared for, clearly very happy, and completely settled when we collected him. Sharon even managed to tire him out, which is no small achievement! It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands. We would not hesitate to recommend her and will absolutely use her again.”

About: Hello, I'm Zoë and I share my home with my own dogs. Dogs have been a huge part of my life for many years, and I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities. As well as owning dogs myself, I have looked after dogs for friends and family and have volunteered with therapy dog visits in care settings. I have completed canine training and education, including Canine Anatomy and Physiology studies, and I am a KAD (Kids Around Dogs) Approved Professional. I have a particular interest in canine behaviour, wellbeing and helping dogs feel safe, relaxed and comfortable. Your dog will be treated as part of the family during their stay. I only accept one guest booking at a time, which allows me to give each dog plenty of attention and helps ensure a calm environment for both visiting dogs and my own dogs. I do have two resident poodles at home, and I'm always happy to tell owners more about them during our meet and greet so you can decide whether my home is the right fit for your dog. Before accepting a booking, I prefer to arrange a meet and greet so we can make sure everyone is a good fit and your dog feels comfortable in my home. I am generally home-based, so dogs in my care can enjoy regular companionship, toilet breaks and supervision throughout the day. Their stay may include walks, garden time, gentle play, puzzle activities, sniffing games, snuffle/scent work and relaxed downtime. I like dogs to have an enriching but balanced stay. Depending on their needs, confidence and owner preferences, we may visit woodland parks where they can sniff, explore leaves, step over logs and enjoy open space at their own pace. If a dog enjoys socialising, they may have calm opportunities to see other dogs and people. If they are nervous, I always give them space and move away where needed. With owner permission, some stays may also include dog-friendly cafés or park café visits. My home has a fenced garden and a separate fenced patio area, so outdoor space can be adjusted depending on each dog’s confidence and routine. Some dogs enjoy the garden, while others may prefer a smaller patio-style space, especially if they are used to yards rather than grass. For safety, I use a porch system when opening the front door, so visiting dogs are kept secure before anyone enters or leaves. I can also use a stair gate when needed, particularly for dogs who are not used to stairs or may benefit from staying on one level during the day. Dogs have regular access to fresh water, toilet breaks and supervised outdoor time. I only accept one guest booking at a time and always prefer a meet and greet first, so we can make sure my home, routine and resident dogs are the right fit for your dog.
“Missy’s second time with Daniel and family and she loves it! She’s always so excited to see them, really enjoys the company and her stays. Great communication and Missy returns a happy girl. She is treated very well there!”

“We had a great experience with Isil and Ayhan! This was our first time leaving Honey with a dog sitter, and we couldn’t be happier that we found this couple. They took wonderful care of her and made the whole experience easy and reassuring. We will definitely use them again next time. Highly recommend, thank you guys! 🐶✨”

“Thank you for taking care of Barnaby for a few days. He was clearly very well looked after and came back home happy to be reunited with his parents. A warm hug to you both.”

“Albert absolutely loved Irina. He had so much fun that he didn't want to leave and was crying all the way home! Irina went above and beyond, and we couldn't recommend her more. We'll definitely be back! 🐾”

“MariaRosaria was absolutely brilliant with Mango today! I totally recommend her. She’s upbeat, polite, really easy to communicate with and kept me updated throughout the day. She shared loads of photos showing how happy and comfortable Mango was in her care. Couldn’t have asked for better. We’ll definitely book with her again!”

“Charlie had a lovely overnight stay with Angela and her family. They were extremely accommodating and the allowing us to visit them before hand so that Charlie could familiarise himself with their home. Thankyou for taking such good care of him!”

“Aaron did really well with Bear despite the heat and his issues with walking. He came over a few days before to meet us and was a great communicator and does seem to love dogs!”

“Erika and her family were wonderful! My dog settled in straight away and received so much love and attention. I really appreciated the regular picture updates over the couple of days he stayed. I would highly recommend Erika and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

From the moment we met Maria we were put at ease with her warm personality. Her home was a lovely area for the dogs to roam. This was the first time leaving our young dog and the messages and photos were great to receive. Maria was also flexible when we needed it. Will definitely be using her again and so happy that we found her. Thank you for making it such a friendly and reliable service.

Kylo had a great time with Maira, her dog Chunks and the family. I met Maira for a walk before Kylo stayed and knew she was a dog lover, warm, friendly and positive. Maira kept me up to date with photos and videos regularly so I was easily reassured he was safe and cared for. Would definitely recommend and book Maira again.

Julie is a really lovely lady, calm, gentle with an abundance of love and care to all animals. Mocha took her instantly when we met for a meet and greet and then when she stayed there, she was absolutely delighted to see Julie again and I know they had a fun packed evening.

Branston had another fabulous stay with Conor. He certainly enjoys his time with Conor who keeps us posted with photos & videos, all with Branston wagging his tail. We will definitely be using Conor again as we feel we can enjoy our holiday knowing our little pup is in a happy place.

Irina looked after my dog Mary in the most impossibly hot weather with ease. She was absolutely amazing. Walked her when it was safe too, followed her routine, managed her terrier habits , and looked after her so wonderfully with the most gorgeous daily updates. If I could give more than five stars I would. I can’t thank Irina enough and will be booking again for sure.

We cannot recommend Daniel, Carmen, and their family highly enough. They looked after our two pugs, Pepsi and Pancake, while we were away for our wedding, and the care they provided exceeded all our expectations. This was the first time we had ever left our babies with anyone other than family, so naturally we were a little nervous. However, Carmen and Daniel immediately put us at ease. From the start, it was clear how experienced, organised, and professional they are. Carmen carefully noted down each dog’s routine, needs, and preferences, taking the time to make sure every detail was covered. Their home was incredibly well set up for dogs, with toys, bowls, beds, and everything our babies could possibly need. It was obvious that caring for dogs isn’t just something they do—it’s something they genuinely love. Throughout the stay, we received plenty of photos, videos, and updates, which we always looked forward to. Seeing Pepsi and Pancake so relaxed, happy, and included in family life reassured us that they were having just as much of a holiday as we were. A special mention has to go to their youngest daughter, who absolutely loves pugs. The babies clearly adored her and quickly they become best friends! One of the most thoughtful things they did was send us a personalised wedding message and photo from Pepsi and Pancake on the morning of our wedding. It was such a kind gesture and meant so much to us on such an important day! What stood out most was the genuine affection the whole family showed towards our pugs. They didn’t simply look after Pepsi and Pancake they loved them as if they were their own, and as dog owners that means everything. We returned to two happy, content, and very well cared for pugs. We are so grateful to Daniel, Carmen, and their family for allowing us to enjoy our wedding knowing our babies were in such safe and loving hands. We would not hesitate to book with them again and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional dog sitters!! Thank you so much and the babies can’t wait for there next stay ❤️

WOW! Thank you so much to Maria & Thanos for taking such incredible care of our 7-month old puppy Twix for a week when we went on holiday. We were so nervous to leave her due to her young age, and the fact that she got her first heat cycle right over the time we went away, but Maria & Thanos made us feel so reassured. They sent so many pictures and videos of Twix absolutely living her best life every day, keeping us updated the whole time, and watching her bond with them was so special! They will be our first choice of dog sitters from now on, we could not have asked for more. Thank you to you both for the love and care you gave to our precious girl! She misses you lots!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
