“Ruby and Steve were great. Dogs came back knackered (and still as well behaved as when they left!). Easy to communicate with, and accommodating, we’ll definitely want to send the girls back again.”

“Ashleigh and her family looked after our Cockapoo for a week so well. He is not used to being left with anyone but clearly had a wonderful time. We are very grateful for such great care shown and will definitely leave him with Ashleigh again, in a heartbeat.”

“Our dog boarded with Karolina and clearly adores her. Made a new furry friend Nutmeg too. Seemed very happy and well looked after. We were sent regular updates and photos. Will be using Karolina again”

“Anne did a wonderful job of caring for Toto. We were sent multiple updates and pictures and he seemed very content when we picked him up. We would definitely book with Anne again. Thank you!”

“We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.”

“This is the second time that Igor has boarded Bertie and he is very happy in Igors company.... So much so that he barely lets the man out of his sight! ? Igor is kind, professional and genuinely cares about dogs and has a finely attuned sense of each individual dog's needs.”

“Choccie loved staying with Sharne and Werner . She was taken out for walks each day and kept to her usual routine . We also received daily updates about Choccie and even a video or two which we really enjoyed. We believe Sharne and Werner enjoyed Choccie being with them and we shall certainly be in touch again when we are away again !”

“Samara had our pups for nearly a month, and they look like they’ve had the best time! In fact, I’m pretty sure Tea is planning to run back to them 😂 thanks so much! x”

“An overnight stay for our dog. Patricia & George were very friendly and attentive. They also were very good at responding to questions. Royston was well looked after. We were sent an update plus photo. Definitely recommend.”

About: I am confident with dogs, as I’ve grown up with small dogs and then Weimaraners and now I am often with my partner’s Working Cocker Spaniel with and without my children. I did used to help care for a Pointer a few years ago on Borrow My Doggy whilst the owner worked a couple of days a week. I would walk the dog and then the dog would come back with me for some company. Not sure how many years to put as ‘years of experience.’ With borrow my doggy I would say a year and longer with a family Dog and now my partner’s dog. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work around my family commitments, meaning I can offer dog walking, day care and overnight stays during both weekdays and weekends. Caring for dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, so I make sure every pet receives plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection and one-to-one attention while they’re with me. I am based between Wotton, Surrey and Sevenoaks. In Wotton there is a large fenced grass garden and our friendly female Working Cocker Spaniel lives here. In Sevenoaks - there is a small paved garden that is fenced.
“Nadene was great. I really appreciated her prompt reply to my enquiry. I really appreciated the meet & greet. Nadene is very experienced with dogs and I felt very comfortable with Harper in her care. Thank you”

“This was Ivy’s first time staying with Chrissie, and it looks like she had the best time with her and her lovely kids! Ivy was so happy when we picked her up—we’re honestly lucky she wanted to come back with us! Chrissie is super friendly, easy-going, and flexible. We’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future! Ivy-approved! 🐾 Paws up for Chrissie! ✨🐶❤️”

“Kelly has been wonderful from start to finish! It is obvious from the moment you meet her she is caring and keen to follow your instructions. She keeps in touch and is very prompt with replies. She had a lovely manner with Tiggy as soon as she met him leaving you feeling very comfortable and reassured. She caters specifically for your dog and has a lovely home setup for the dogs. Will definitely book with Kelly again. An overall brilliant experience! 😊”

“Cristina is an excellent sitter! We booked for a night of boarding and could not have asked for better care for our dog, Charlie. Cristina provided regular updates and Charlie was really well looked after whilst we were away. Thank you Cristina!”

About: I am new to Rover however, as a Dachshund owner myself and having had and looked after dogs my whole life, I will provide your pet a safe, warm and loving home whilst you are away. I only accept one Dachshund at a time. I will only have one Dachshund at a time so your pet will have my full care and attention alongside my own pet. I provide day boarding or cover for holidays. I have one miniature Dachshund called Rosie so your pet will always have a gentle play mate to have fun with. I will always try to match your home routine eg breakfast time, length of walks, favourite treats etc so that your sausage will settle and feel at home. I am within a mile of a reputable vet if any medication is needed. A meet and greet is welcomed before you decide to commit to a booking with me. I have a secure fenced large garden and plenty of beautiful countryside on hand if your pet would like additional walks. My house is single storey and there are no areas that your pet is not welcome…even on the couch! I have plenty of toys and bedding but I’m happy for you to bring along whatever you need for your pet to make them feel at home. If required I send pictures and updates whilst you are away so you can relax and enjoy yourself knowing that your pet is having a wonderful time too!!

About: I have had pets all my life from horses, dogs, cats and smaller animals. I love walking and enjoy the company of animals and joy they bring. I have plenty of time to walk dogs. I have a lovely garden and a peaceful environment for them to enjoy. They would be happy and comfortable with me and my 26yr old dog crazy son. I have a fenced garden and am surrounded by numerous walks for your pet to enjoy. I have had dogs all of my life and would enjoy the company of your pet as unfortunately we lost our beautiful lab 2 yrs ago as miss having a dog.
“5 stars, as always. Alex puts up with a lot of shenanigans from our two little pugs (who do everything from running through the flat with toilet paper, to stealing Alex's lunch), and he still adores them, and we just love having him sit with our pups.”

About: From a young age, I have grown up with dogs, large GSDs and small Jack Russels. Last year I completed an advanced dog Training course with the IMDT, and regularly care for dogs at my house. I have a large garden at home, and with no furry soul of my own, I look forward to hosting yours. My yard is dog proof, and will allow good freedom for your pet. I can offer walks, both long and short, and nights over should you need it, and I am available. I work in a hybrid role, occasionally going into London, but I mostly work remotely from home. My job allows me the freedom to care for your dog, should they require more regular attention. I am able to do two walks a day. With a dog park round the corner from my house, for some socialising with others, or for the quieter souls, we can take a stroll through knole park. I am able to do training as well, stimulating your pup and teaching them skills on lead, or off. I will also be able to do various scent work exercises to engage your pup and keep them happy.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Dobby! He stayed with Ashleigh for 7 nights and it genuinely felt like he had a 5-star luxury holiday. Ashley was amazing from start to finish—her communication was always quick, clear, and reassuring. She sent us photos and updates, so we always knew Dobby was happy, relaxed, and being so well looked after. It’s obvious she truly cares about the dogs in her care. Thank you so much, Ashleigh—we wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for exceptional dog boarding!

Milo had a great time with Chrissie and her family. When he was dropped home he clearly had a lot of affection for Chrissie which I thought was a great sign of a good stay. He slept for hours once the initial excitement of being back home had passed, so another great sign that he had a good stay. I would definitely recommend Chrissie and will be taking Milo back soon.

Issi and her partner Freddie were friendly with Murphy and seemed to all get on well during his stay. He had big walks with them and returned to us happy. Whilst we didn’t receive photo updates, when prompted we received an update on how things were going which we appreciated as we like to regularly check in on how things are with new sitters/boarders.

Monty had a brilliant stay with Patricia's partner George. Monty can be nervous around people he doesn't know but he warmed to George quickly and seemed to really enjoy his time there. We would definitely book with them again. Thanks for taking such great care of Monty!

This was the first time we have left our dog with anyone. We could not have been in better hands than with Chloe and Brad. They were actually recommended to us by our neighbour. We would also recommend them wholeheartedly. They are calm, great with dogs and very responsive.

Emma was wonderful with my dog, this was his third visit and he was most excited to arrive at her house. It reassured me that he would be settled and comfortable staying overnight. I had several updates and she was able to accommodate my dog even though he got a bit unsettled at night. I had no worries as I knew Emma was able to give my dog lots of attention and she knew how to look after dachshunds. I look forward to his next visit.
I was originally quite apprehensive to leave Ivy with anyone, due to a few health issues and nervousness. Danni made Ivy feel right at home, and sent us daily pictures and updates to keep our minds at rest. Very accommodating around drop off and pick up as we weren’t sure of exact times. I would have no hesitation to leave Ivy with Danni and Vicky again, and their dog Shadow is a sweetie.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
