“We first met Chrissie at the start of May for a meet and greet and were sold from the moment we met her and her gorgeous son, Josh. You can tell that Chrissie absolutely adores dogs and cares for them as if they were her own. We left our Buddy with her for a week and already have his next stay booked. We genuinely wouldn’t use anyone else now. Thank you for looking after our pride and joy💕🐶 xx”

“Ashleigh and her family looked after our Cockapoo for a week so well. He is not used to being left with anyone but clearly had a wonderful time. We are very grateful for such great care shown and will definitely leave him with Ashleigh again, in a heartbeat.”

“Ruby and Steve were great. Dogs came back knackered (and still as well behaved as when they left!). Easy to communicate with, and accommodating, we’ll definitely want to send the girls back again.”

“I’m so happy that I have found boarding for my dog Ronnie that ticks all the boxes. Karolina is lovely lady and Ronnie has made a friend with their dog Nutmeg which is so nice. 5 stars for this family 10/10.”

“Thank you for looking after our Ivy for the whole week and sending us photo updates for reassurance. It looks like Ivy also had a good holiday with Samara. Today she looks a bit sad, I think she misses you ❤️”

“10/10 care. Igor kept us updated throughout Kobes weekend stay with them and arranged a meet and greet beforehand where all arrangements were discussed as well had kobes care needs. Kobe came back to us really content and happy, as well as absolutely knackered from playing with their lovely pooch. Could not have asked for more and would love for Igor and his partner to have kobe again for us in the future”

“Patricia was fantastic from our first contact, test visit, right to the end. This was our first boarding experience and Patricia went above and beyond to put us at ease and accommodate our dogs. I could really tell our dogs were looked after well. We got regular updates and there were no issues at all. We will use Patricia again and we 100% recommend her.”

“We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.”

“Sharne and Werner were very professional - taking time to ask lots of questions about Nelly so they could look after her as well as possible. I am very grateful to them for taking such good care of her and reassuring me with many updates and photos. She obviously felt very comfortable and happy with them.”

“It was a great experience. Christina updated us everyday with photos and videos, looking after my dog very well. My dog, who is not particularly good with other dogs, but did well with their dog, Jim. That’s amazing too.”

About: I am confident with dogs, as I’ve grown up with small dogs and then Weimaraners and now I am often with my partner’s Working Cocker Spaniel with and without my children. I did used to help care for a Pointer a few years ago on Borrow My Doggy whilst the owner worked a couple of days a week. I would walk the dog and then the dog would come back with me for some company. Not sure how many years to put as ‘years of experience.’ With borrow my doggy I would say a year and longer with a family Dog and now my partner’s dog. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work around my family commitments, meaning I can offer dog walking, day care and overnight stays during both weekdays and weekends. Caring for dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, so I make sure every pet receives plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection and one-to-one attention while they’re with me. I am based between Wotton, Surrey and Sevenoaks. In Wotton there is a large fenced grass garden and our friendly female Working Cocker Spaniel lives here. In Sevenoaks - there is a small paved garden that is fenced.
“Absolutely fantastic boarder, Max had a great time and was still knackered the day after I picked him up which is an achievement by itself! Could tell he’d really enjoyed himself and settled in with the family well as he wasn’t particularly fussed to see me when I came to pick him up 😂 will be happily using again ☺️”

“Really happy with the service. The dogs were very happy and I loved the picture and video updates. Was able to enjoy my time away knowing they were being looked after well. Will use again.”

“Nadene was great. I really appreciated her prompt reply to my enquiry. I really appreciated the meet & greet. Nadene is very experienced with dogs and I felt very comfortable with Harper in her care. Thank you”

About: I have had pets all my life from horses, dogs, cats and smaller animals. I love walking and enjoy the company of animals and joy they bring. I have plenty of time to walk dogs. I have a lovely garden and a peaceful environment for them to enjoy. They would be happy and comfortable with me and my 26yr old dog crazy son. I have a fenced garden and am surrounded by numerous walks for your pet to enjoy. I have had dogs all of my life and would enjoy the company of your pet as unfortunately we lost our beautiful lab 2 yrs ago as miss having a dog.
“Jessie was fantastic, sending updates throughout Tillys stay. Tilly had the best time playing with Dora and was so happy and content when we picked her up. 100% recommend and will absolutely use Jessie again 😊 thank you!”

“We wouldn’t hesitate to ask Vivien to look after Ender again. We got regular detailed updates on his day and he was made to feel part of their home. Vivien also made sure to understand Ender’s routine which helped him to settle quickly. He came home happy and healthy.”

We were a little nervous about leaving our dog for the first time in years but Ashleigh was so caring and diligent and sent us lovely pictures of Flo who we could see was totally relaxed and happy. I would 100%recommend Ashleigh (and her family) for a home from home, 5 star stay!
Issi and her partner Freddie were friendly with Murphy and seemed to all get on well during his stay. He had big walks with them and returned to us happy. Whilst we didn’t receive photo updates, when prompted we received an update on how things were going which we appreciated as we like to regularly check in on how things are with new sitters/boarders.

Monty had a brilliant stay with Patricia's partner George. Monty can be nervous around people he doesn't know but he warmed to George quickly and seemed to really enjoy his time there. We would definitely book with them again. Thanks for taking such great care of Monty!

This was the first time we have left our dog with anyone. We could not have been in better hands than with Chloe and Brad. They were actually recommended to us by our neighbour. We would also recommend them wholeheartedly. They are calm, great with dogs and very responsive.

Emma was wonderful with my dog, this was his third visit and he was most excited to arrive at her house. It reassured me that he would be settled and comfortable staying overnight. I had several updates and she was able to accommodate my dog even though he got a bit unsettled at night. I had no worries as I knew Emma was able to give my dog lots of attention and she knew how to look after dachshunds. I look forward to his next visit.
I was originally quite apprehensive to leave Ivy with anyone, due to a few health issues and nervousness. Danni made Ivy feel right at home, and sent us daily pictures and updates to keep our minds at rest. Very accommodating around drop off and pick up as we weren’t sure of exact times. I would have no hesitation to leave Ivy with Danni and Vicky again, and their dog Shadow is a sweetie.

Carolina was fantastic. I had a relatively short notice booking for dog boarding for my two dogs Carolina was so helpful and accommodating. She sent me messages and photos to know they were happy and well. I was very happy with the amazing service Carolina gave. Highly recommend.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
