“This was Ivy’s first time staying with Chrissie, and it looks like she had the best time with her and her lovely kids! Ivy was so happy when we picked her up—we’re honestly lucky she wanted to come back with us! Chrissie is super friendly, easy-going, and flexible. We’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future! Ivy-approved! 🐾 Paws up for Chrissie! ✨🐶❤️”

“Our dog had a wonderful time staying with Anne for two weeks. She was incredibly well cared for and had lots of walks in the beautiful countryside. Anne kept us up to date with how she was doing while we were away and we received lots of photos of the fun she got up to. We will absolutely be booking Anne in the future for our next get away.”

“Samatha and Steve have been absolutely amazing dog sitters for our little sausage Coby who can be very nervous and timid around both people and dogs. They made sure we were all comfortable by allowing drop in visits to meet their beautiful labs before the boarding. Provided lovely picture updates and messages with how Coby was doing. Felt very reassured and Coby had come back like he’d never been away. Was actually worried he would not want to come back! Will definitely be hoping Samatha and Steve can Coby sit again in the future.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Dobby! He stayed with Ashleigh for 7 nights and it genuinely felt like he had a 5-star luxury holiday. Ashley was amazing from start to finish—her communication was always quick, clear, and reassuring. She sent us photos and updates, so we always knew Dobby was happy, relaxed, and being so well looked after. It’s obvious she truly cares about the dogs in her care. Thank you so much, Ashleigh—we wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for exceptional dog boarding!”

“We left our boy( dog) with Michelle for 10 days while we were away, and WOW was the best decision to give our dog to Michelle and Ava ( who helped and our dog become attached to her 😊). Michelle kept us updated with pictures and daily messages about our boy. I didnt felt that we left Fidel with a stranger. Michelle and her family and Wilf and Ralf embraced and welcomed Fidel. He felt at home straight away. I will definitely bring Fidel back to Michelle and highly recommend the complete package that she offers.”

“In a word, wonderful! Alex and his girlfriend, Jess, were absolutely perfect. During our week long holiday, we received frequent updates with pictures and videos, and when we returned home much to our delight our flat was spotless. Alex and Jess went above and beyond what was expected, and I cannot tell you how lovely it was to come home from an international flight to find our flat so welcoming; it was as if Mary Poppins herself had stopped in for a clean-up. Our pugs were also clearly happy in Alex and Jess's care.”

About: I have had a love for animals my whole life. I studied animal management and become a dog groomer at college to then go on to become a professional dog walker 7 years ago. I have dealt with all types of dogs young and old and also with different types of behavioural issues and sizes. I treat all dogs as if they are my own and give them the care and love they deserve. I have walked as many as 8 dogs on a walk but have also done solo walks. I currently have a couple of hours free each day int he mornings between 9.30-11.30 now working part time as well as some weekend availability for pet sitting I follow instructions left by owners and keep things as routine to the dog as I can. I am respectful and trustworthy with experience of pet sitting in others houses. I have experience with different breeds and temperaments.

“Rosanna and her partner were both great and we couldn’t hope for better sitters, they looked after Tula like she was their own and was very communicative and sent lots of updates throughout the stay. We felt in safe hands and would have no problems recommending to anyone.”

“Jemima was brilliant with our Weimaraner. We booked her with a short notice, but she didn’t mind and was very helpful from the start. She also sent us messages and photos to keep us up to date on everything. Would highly recommend Jemima!”

Issi and her partner Freddie were friendly with Murphy and seemed to all get on well during his stay. He had big walks with them and returned to us happy. Whilst we didn’t receive photo updates, when prompted we received an update on how things were going which we appreciated as we like to regularly check in on how things are with new sitters/boarders.

This was the first time we have left our dog with anyone. We could not have been in better hands than with Chloe and Brad. They were actually recommended to us by our neighbour. We would also recommend them wholeheartedly. They are calm, great with dogs and very responsive.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
