Lola went above and beyond when she looked after our cat while we were on holiday recently. She went round to the house early one day to bring him inside because it was raining. She went out and bought him more food when I had miscalculated how much we needed. I received detailed daily updates and photos and can see how much Toby loved spending time with her. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Lola again or recommend her :)

We were really happy leaving Otto with Jessica. He ate all his food which he wouldn't do if he was anxious, and clearly loved having her attention. It was so reassuring to know she was with him. Will definitely book her again.

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience caring for pets with different needs every day. I share my home with a dachshund and a cat, so I understand the importance of providing loving, attentive care tailored to each animal’s personality. I also help care for my son’s service dog, including daily walks and maintaining the routine and discipline that are essential for a working dog. This has given me valuable experience in consistency, positive reinforcement, and understanding how important structure is for a dog’s wellbeing. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, prefers a quieter environment, or needs extra patience and attention, I will care for them as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, loved, and happy while you’re away. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide pet care during the week and on weekends. I am available for daytime visits, walks, and drop-in care, and can often accommodate different schedules. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet’s routine and will provide reliable, consistent care to help them feel comfortable and happy while you’re away. Please note that I do not offer overnight sitting. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in their own home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel secure and relaxed in a familiar environment. For cats, I make sure their environment is calm, safe, and stress-free. I pay close attention to details such as secure doors and windows, litter tray cleanliness, fresh water, and feeding routines. I also take time to read their behaviour and body language so I can interact with them in a way that builds trust and helps them feel comfortable during my visits. For walks, I ensure dogs are always safely leashed and walked in appropriate areas, paying close attention to their behaviour, surroundings, and individual needs. I have experience with maintaining routine and consistency through caring for a service dog, so I understand the importance of structure, patience, and positive reinforcement. I will treat both your pet and your home with the utmost respect, providing regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I've owned cats from a young age and have been familiar with various breeds of dog (ranging from dachshunds to akitas) thanks to my lovely family and friends! I don't have any specialist animal training but I am a calm and patient animal lover who has been relied on previously to feed, walk, and play with people's pets. I believe it is very important when pet sitting to engage with the animal I visit so I ensure they eat all their food, have some play time, and are generally as happy as possible while you are away. I have recently graduated from university and and do not yet have a full-time job so I have plenty of time to ensure your pets are looked after to the best of my ability! I am respectful and considerate of other people's homes and privacy and I would treat your property with care by leaving it as clean and tidy as I found it and abiding by any house rules. I'm very careful when it comes to dealing with house cats that are not allowed outside and would be able to crate dogs if necessary.

About: Hi there! My name is Ariadne, I’m a PhD student working from home, and I’m super excited to have the opportunity to take care of your best friend! I definitely understand that life doesn’t always run to schedule - maybe you’re stuck at work late for a meeting, or you’re planning a holiday and want to make sure your pets stay comfortable in their own environment; that’s exactly why John and I are here. We offer personalized, knowledgeable, and friendly care, giving you complete peace of mind that both your pets and your home are safe, secure, and well looked after while you’re away. We provide house sitting (overnight stays), as well as daycare, walks, and drop-in visits, either at your place or ours (within a reasonable distance). We live in a flat with easy access to a charming woodland with year-round walking paths. Whether you need weekly daytime support or someone dependable to stay with your pets while you travel, we tailor our care to their routines, personalities, and needs. We have over 3 years of combined experience through Rover (daycare and boarding) and TrustedHouseSitters (house and pet sitting), with entirely positive ratings across both platforms. We’re comfortable with a wide range of animals, temperaments, and care requirements, and we pride ourselves on communication, reliability, and treating every pet as if they were our own. I (Ariadne) have personally grown up around rescue dogs my entire life, and have been taking care of dogs generally for about 12 years. I have used Rover in both the UK and the US and maintained a 5-star review with several repeat clients in both. I am very capable of handling all sorts of furry companions from miniscule to giant, young to old, and sociable to territorial/reactive. Dog, cat, bird, and reptile friendly! Hey, I’m John! I am an environmental economist with hybrid hours. I have several years of experience with dogs, rabbits, and lizards and am keen to help out in any way I can. Especially when there are multiple pets to care for, in our experience having two people allows us to give your pets the individual attention they deserve. With that said, we are aware that some dogs have specific handling needs or gender preferences, so we’re happy for just one of us to take care of them. We also have a small car that we are happy to use for short excursions - dog seatbelts included of course! I (Ariadne) am a PhD student and as such my work days are extremely flexible and I have the freedom to work from anywhere. I (John) have a flexible hybrid job and can also work from anywhere. We’re happy to follow the instructions and preferences set by the owner. The main focus is to make your pet feel safe and that they can trust us. We are always careful to not force ourselves onto your animal, we prefer to let them come to us and check us out on their own time.

I have had a variety of pets my whole life including fish, ferret, rabbits, hamsters, lizards, frogs, degus etc. I also have a German Shepherd who is 6 years old and I am in charge of training, bathing, walking and feeding him. I also have a lot of experience from working in a dog boarding kennels on and off for 5 years. I own two cats, a leopard gecko, and a snake, as well so I am experienced in cat and exotic care also. I'm currently working part-time so have plenty of time to care for your pets! Weekends I am always free, and weekdays are variable so just ask and I will get back to you ASAP! At an owner's home, I will more than happily play with the pet and work out what they enjoy in their usual surroundings. About: As a family we have had cats and dogs all our lives. Since our bundle of joy Saskia came along we have found new levels of dog walking fun in all weathers in our local parks where we meet so many amazing pups and their owners. Our Shih Tzu Saskia is super friendly with dogs and cats and will adapt to your pets needs whether they want to play all day or simply chill. I also have friends and family who are experienced dog carers too. We just love being with these amazing fluffy friends. 😀 I am available flexible hours as I am a self employed. I like to be outdoors on walks a fair amount especially when the weather permits, however we are out in all weather's as long as it suits the pets needs. I walk our pup in the beautiful countryside by our home and other local parks daily. We also have a secure garden and a car to drive to other locations. Our pup and feline are used to being around other cats and dogs. I can be with the your pets at all times where required.

About: My first job was dog walking and dog sitting , at 15 years old & I’ve now come back to it, doing what I love to most and spending my days with paws, dribble and lots of ball throwing. I have the flexibility to be at home alll day. Which is perfect for day care - or boarding, you know your pet will not be alone. I live in a quiet village on the north downs where we can enjoy our walks, whatever the weather. I provide a 1-1 walk, daycare and boarding service. I have done multiple puppy courses, from basic k9 first aid to puppy training safely, and reactive dogs. Your furry best friend is welcome in my home as well as the bespoke dog bedroom attached to the house which is secure, and allows them to have there own space & have easy access to the garden with 6 foot fenced. I track my walks so you can see exactly what adventures me and your fur baby go on together & see which route we have took on our walk that day ☺️ Pet care is my daily routine. I walk different types of dogs big and small, and can now provide a day care service as well as host them for many sleepovers 😊 Rain or shine - we’ll walk on time. I have a dog to keep your pet company and provide a play mate. I can easily keep them separated too as I have a brand new dog room attached to my house where your dog can access the garden without having to come into the household if you prefer - better for more nervous dogs. I have been walking and handling dogs for years now. All different breeds, shapes and sizing & I have fallen in love with every single one. Treating them like my own. I send regular pictures and videos to owners to keep them updated with activities that we are doing and because I only offer a 1-1 basis I can customise your walk/stay’n’play/boarding completely to your preference and your pets needs. I will not take your dog off lead out on walks, as I am not naive enough, however if your pooch is a wanderer I have a selection of long leads to accommodate that.

About: I’ve always owned kitties, from when I was young with my childhood best friend (cat) Tiger, to now with my two beautiful fur babies. I’ve looked after many cats and dogs in the past of all backgrounds, from those who prefer to be alone and those that love to cuddle. My mum owned a dog-sitting business while I was growing up, and I had helped out many times, from dog sitting, check-ups to dog-walking :) (Chester's Dog-Walking 5 years +) - Easily Manipulated, will provide many cuddles and (with permission) plenty of treats! - I ensure all litterboxes are clean whenever I come to visit! I'm currently working part-time while on my break after University, so I have plenty of time to look after your fur-babies. I am completely flexible when it comes to cat-sitting, feel free to reach out if you're ever in need of someone. I am happy to do dog-sitting at any time of the day depending on my schedule - be sure to reach out and discuss if you're curious! Because of how daunting it can be leaving your pets when you have a trip, I am happy to send photos and updates on how your babies are doing while you're away. I always ensure litter-boxes have been cleaned, the area is clean and pets are happy before I leave! I am happy to do dog-sitting within the owner's home, I can work with dogs of any background whether that's energetic or shy! Depending on the dogs needs, I work with the owner to provide services specific to your dog.

Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
