“Maggie is absolutely amazing! Great communication and lots of lovely updates about my doggy when we were away for 2 weeks. She took him on lots of walks and fun adventures and he was so happy! I could see my little boy was very well looked after when I collected him. If you’re looking for someone to love and care for your fur baby then I 100% recommend Maggie. Thank you so very much! I will definitely be a returning customer!”

“Katharine was an amazing host to our dog Lexi. She was adaptable on timing when I had to drop her off earlier due to work commitments and for pick up too. Katharine sent updates and pictures letting us know she was living her best doggie life, with plenty of fresh air and exercise. So much so she was a little reluctant to come home ! Would 💯 recommended Katharine to anyone looking for dog sitting with someone warm and caring”

“Maya had a brilliant first stay and we couldn’t be happier. Communication was excellent throughout, with regular updates, photos and videos, which really put us at ease. Her setup is perfect for dogs and from the moment we dropped Maya off, we could tell she was going to settle in quickly. She was also great with Maya’s feeding routine and medicine, which Maya is currently on. When we picked her up, Maya was happy and clearly well looked after, especially considering it was her first time staying there. We feel really comfortable and settled knowing Maya will be going back for her next few visits. Highly recommend!”

“I was nervous about leaving my puppy for the first time, but Lindsey and her family gave him a very happy three days, keeping me informed each day of his progress. I will happily leave Shadow in Lindsey’s care in future”

“I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a nicer home for Rocky to be looked after over a long weekend. Peter and Vanessa were so caring along with keeping me updated with photos and videos. Rocky had a fantastic time. Thank you (and sorry he was so energetic)”

About: I grew up in a family home where we had pets for over 25 years, including cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits. Looking after animals has always been a part of my daily life, giving me hands-on experience with feeding, exercising, cleaning, and caring for a wide range of pets. I have recently moved into my own spacious flat with a good-sized garden, providing a safe and comfortable environment for pets. I currently own two birds and a fish, so I continue to care for animals every day and understand the responsibility involved in meeting their needs. I am reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether it’s providing companionship, playtime, feeding, or general care, I will treat every pet as if they were my own and ensure they feel safe, happy, and well looked after while their owners are away. I work full-time as a PE teacher, I am available for pet care from 5:00pm on weekdays Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays for evening services. On weekends I will be free Saturday afternoons from 5pm with Sunday being free all day. During school holidays I will be free every day apart from the Saturday with the availability starting from 5pm Saturday evening. I am also available. As a pet owner myself, caring for animals is already part of my daily routine. I am reliable, organised, and happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can have complete peace of mind while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a visit, feeding, companionship, or evening care, I will ensure they receive plenty of attention and care. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I live in a spacious flat with a secure garden and currently care for two birds and a fish. Having grown up with cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits for over 25 years, I am comfortable caring for a wide range of animals and understand that every pet has its own personality and routine. When caring for pets in your home, I will follow all instructions carefully, maintain their normal routine, ensure they have fresh food and water, and provide plenty of attention and affection. I will always treat your pet as if they were my own and respect your home while you are away.
About: I have looked after a variety of animals since a young age currently have three cats of my own ranging from a kitten to a 20-year-old cat. I am currently working shift patterns. My cat roam freely during the day. They are provided both with a breakfast and an evening meal before and after work. I have a fenced in garden. Currently, my cats are only allowed outdoors on the supervision and they are free to row and play in the back garden. I also provide them a litter tray inside for during the day and night.
“Rocky just had a wonderful 5 days with Aneeka and came back a very happy boy. Aneeka constantly kept us up to date with photos & videos, so we had complete peace of mind that Rocky was in great hands and getting spoilt rotten! We have already re-booked Aneeka for next month, so that tells you all you need to know. Highly recommended.”

“Kat was amazing with our dachshund Wilf, he is a very anxious boy and struggled to settle on the first night but she was patient with him and managed to get him to chill which can be a challenge! She also took him on lovely woodland walks and sent lots of photos and videos to keep us updated. Her dog Theo is also super chilled and friendly. Would highly recommend her for your dogsitting needs!”

“We wouldn’t hesitate to ask Vivien to look after Ender again. We got regular detailed updates on his day and he was made to feel part of their home. Vivien also made sure to understand Ender’s routine which helped him to settle quickly. He came home happy and healthy.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Teddy received! From the start, Sarah was super responsive and made the whole booking process really easy. During Teddy’s stay, she kept us updated with regular messages, photos, and videos, which was so reassuring and lovely to see. She took him on great walks and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. He seemed to settle in straight away and was in great form when we picked him up. It was clear he had a lovely time. We’d absolutely book with her again—thank you so much for taking such good care of our boy!”

“Lina was fantastic, I was able to arrange a time and date where she could meet Cody and he could familiarise himself with her place prior to dog boarding. She regularly kept me updated and put my mind at ease. I’ll definitely be rebooking with her when I next need a sitter.”

“Ryan has been amazing looking after Blake. Great communication, and regular photo updates on what Blake had been up to. Plenty of walks, play time and cuddles! She has enjoyed her stay and she settled quickly at Ryan's home, when we dropped her off. Would highly recommend and we will be booking again!”

“Our dog Mac is very anxious, but Angus proved to be the perfect person to look after him. Together with Zoe, he looked after Mac with great patience and calmness and kept us really well informed about how Mac was settling in. Can’t recommend Angus highly enough and will be returning to him with Mac soon.”

“We couldn’t recommend Clare and Jack more highly! From the moment we met them, they were so friendly and welcoming, making sure both my partner and I felt completely comfortable leaving Bailey, our 2-year-old dachshund, in their care, especially as this was the first time we’d left him over night with someone new. They took the time to listen to all our needs and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. It’s so clear how much they truly love dogs, as the care and affection they showed Bailey was amazing. They kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which was such a comfort, and it was obvious how happy he was with them. They have a large garden, which was ideal for Bailey to have a run around to burn off energy and he loved having a sniff at all the smells in their garden which helped stimulate his brain. They took him on lovely long walks where he saw horses, cows and sheep, played all of his favourite games as well as enrichment activities, and gave him endless cuddles and attention. Bailey came home a very happy (and tired!) little dachshund, which says it all. We’re so grateful to Clare and Jack for looking after him as if he were their own, and we’ll definitely be asking them again in the future!”

“Scott was fantastic with Mila and obviously really cares about the dogs in his care! Mila met and socialised with lots of other dogs and people while she was with Scott and Bumblelina and he took her on lots of lovely long walks which she loves! Scott was very good at communicating with us and sent lots of pictures each day! He is still finishing off his fab doggy friendly garden space but when it is complete I think it's going to be a lovely space for them to play and be! I would recommend Scott and Bumblelina's and definitely use them again. Thank you for taking such good care of Mila while we were away.”

“I can’t recommend Sujin enough! She looked our Vizsla with so much love and affection while we were holiday. She sent loads of updates and pictures of all the walks and outings, Mars clearly had the best time with her! So much so that he was actually sad when he came home!! It’s so comforting to know that we have someone so lovely and trustworthy to look after our boy when we go away! Thanks so much Sujin!”

Sarah and family were great with Dashby on his 5 night stay in a very hot June. Attentive to his needs doing late evening walks when it was cooler and updated us with photos and a video which was very reassuring. Their own dog Dolly was great company for Dashby too. Highly recommend have already booked for a repeat stay

Hamida and her partner Josh took wonderful care of our Frenchie, Stitch and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, they were professional, attentive and excellent communicators, keeping us updated throughout his stay with plenty of photos and messages. Stitch was clearly very happy and well looked after. He enjoyed lots of walks in the surrounding parks and it was reassuring to see how much care and attention he received. Hamida and Josh also offered convenient pick-up and drop-off services, which made everything so easy for us. It’s obvious that they genuinely love dogs and treat them like their own. We felt completely comfortable leaving Stitch in their care and had complete peace of mind while we were away. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring and trustworthy dog sitters. We’ll definitely be booking with them again!

Winnie always has a great time with Alice. I never have any concerns and have total peace of mind that she is being so well looked after. We always have plenty of updates and photos showing all the fun she is having. 100% recommend and 5 stars is fully deserved. If I could give more stars I would.

Daisy my cockapoo is elderly (12) very needy and fussy when it comes to staying with strangers. She absolutely enjoyed her stay she came back happy and relaxed. Daisy was walked daily ( I received daily photo updates) and she was in a loving and friendly environment! Sanchia and her husband are 100% a dog loving couple. They are both such lovely people, I highly recommend them. Thank you Sanchia and hubby for looking after Daisy she really loved her stay with you 😊

Our dog hasn't stayed with anyone other than family so we were a bit apprehensive as she's a rescue. She stayed with Lucy for the day before we were away for a couple of nights and by the second visit she was pulling on her lead to get to the front door. She was so happy to stay with Lucy and we really appreciated all the updates. Would definitely recommend and look forward to booking with Lucy again.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
