Maggie is absolutely amazing! Great communication and lots of lovely updates about my doggy when we were away for 2 weeks. She took him on lots of walks and fun adventures and he was so happy! I could see my little boy was very well looked after when I collected him. If you’re looking for someone to love and care for your fur baby then I 100% recommend Maggie. Thank you so very much! I will definitely be a returning customer!

About: I grew up in a family home where we had pets for over 25 years, including cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits. Looking after animals has always been a part of my daily life, giving me hands-on experience with feeding, exercising, cleaning, and caring for a wide range of pets. I have recently moved into my own spacious flat with a good-sized garden, providing a safe and comfortable environment for pets. I currently own two birds and a fish, so I continue to care for animals every day and understand the responsibility involved in meeting their needs. I am reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether it’s providing companionship, playtime, feeding, or general care, I will treat every pet as if they were my own and ensure they feel safe, happy, and well looked after while their owners are away. I work full-time as a PE teacher, I am available for pet care from 5:00pm on weekdays Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays for evening services. On weekends I will be free Saturday afternoons from 5pm with Sunday being free all day. During school holidays I will be free every day apart from the Saturday with the availability starting from 5pm Saturday evening. I am also available. As a pet owner myself, caring for animals is already part of my daily routine. I am reliable, organised, and happy to provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can have complete peace of mind while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a visit, feeding, companionship, or evening care, I will ensure they receive plenty of attention and care. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I live in a spacious flat with a secure garden and currently care for two birds and a fish. Having grown up with cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits for over 25 years, I am comfortable caring for a wide range of animals and understand that every pet has its own personality and routine. When caring for pets in your home, I will follow all instructions carefully, maintain their normal routine, ensure they have fresh food and water, and provide plenty of attention and affection. I will always treat your pet as if they were my own and respect your home while you are away.

Our dog Mac is very anxious, but Angus proved to be the perfect person to look after him. Together with Zoe, he looked after Mac with great patience and calmness and kept us really well informed about how Mac was settling in. Can’t recommend Angus highly enough and will be returning to him with Mac soon.

We couldn’t recommend Clare and Jack more highly! From the moment we met them, they were so friendly and welcoming, making sure both my partner and I felt completely comfortable leaving Bailey, our 2-year-old dachshund, in their care, especially as this was the first time we’d left him over night with someone new. They took the time to listen to all our needs and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. It’s so clear how much they truly love dogs, as the care and affection they showed Bailey was amazing. They kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which was such a comfort, and it was obvious how happy he was with them. They have a large garden, which was ideal for Bailey to have a run around to burn off energy and he loved having a sniff at all the smells in their garden which helped stimulate his brain. They took him on lovely long walks where he saw horses, cows and sheep, played all of his favourite games as well as enrichment activities, and gave him endless cuddles and attention. Bailey came home a very happy (and tired!) little dachshund, which says it all. We’re so grateful to Clare and Jack for looking after him as if he were their own, and we’ll definitely be asking them again in the future!

Freya and Chris were amazing with our 9 year old Welsh terrier Juno. Having not left her before we were very nervous on how she would settle but Freya sent pictures and messaged me to let me know she had settled in …which was a relief and allowed us to attend a local event which unfortunately didn’t allow dogs. It’s Evident that Freya has a way with dogs and lots of experience if ever in the area again will definitely leave Juno with Freya and Chris and would definitely recommend. Thank both so much for taking care of Juno ?

Kat was amazing with our dachshund Wilf, he is a very anxious boy and struggled to settle on the first night but she was patient with him and managed to get him to chill which can be a challenge! She also took him on lovely woodland walks and sent lots of photos and videos to keep us updated. Her dog Theo is also super chilled and friendly. Sarah looked after Thatch our cockapoo for 2 weeks whilst we went to Greece and had an amazing time. Thatch had his 2nd Birthday with her and she sent us a lovely photo of him with a birthday bandana on and sent photos and videos throughout his stay, which was lovely seeing him enjoying himself. She said he slept really well and ate his food every day, enjoyed his walks and loved playing with her dog Dolly. From the moment we met Sarah we felt relaxed. She is so friendly and made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. Her family also made us feel very welcome. Thatch settled in straight away and adored her dog Dolly. To see them playing together was lovely, Dolly looked sad when we picked him up! We had never used Rover before so I was nervous to leave Thatch with a stranger but Sarah made me feel so relaxed and I was able to enjoy my holiday without worrying about him. Highly recommend. Thank you Sarah xx

Bacon got plenty of exercise and had lots of fun playing with her two dogs. About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve grown up with dogs and have had them by my side all through the years, so caring for them feels completely natural to me. I have my own dog now and understand how much they become part of the family. Whether it’s playtime, cuddles, walks, or simply giving them the attention and reassurance they need, I love making sure every dog feels safe and loved. I know how important it is to leave your furry friend with someone you trust, and I’d love to help give them a fun, happy day while you’re away. I work from home three times a week, my job is flexible so I will have lots of time to give your dog lots of attention. I'm planning to cut my hours soon so will hopefully have even more time in the near future! I have a very secure fenced garden and large kitchen for the dogs to run around freely. I have a dog of my own a very friendly and sociable Dalmatian so he'll be able to play and keep your dog company.

Hamida and her partner Josh took wonderful care of our Frenchie, Stitch and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, they were professional, attentive and excellent communicators, keeping us updated throughout his stay with plenty of photos and messages. Stitch was clearly very happy and well looked after. He enjoyed lots of walks in the surrounding parks and it was reassuring to see how much care and attention he received. Hamida and Josh also offered convenient pick-up and drop-off services, which made everything so easy for us. It’s obvious that they genuinely love dogs and treat them like their own. We felt completely comfortable leaving Stitch in their care and had complete peace of mind while we were away. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring and trustworthy dog sitters. We’ll definitely be booking with them again!

Our dog hasn't stayed with anyone other than family so we were a bit apprehensive as she's a rescue. She stayed with Lucy for the day before we were away for a couple of nights and by the second visit she was pulling on her lead to get to the front door. She was so happy to stay with Lucy and we really appreciated all the updates. Would definitely recommend and look forward to booking with Lucy again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Tandridge on Rover is £38.01 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
