“Craig and his family are lovely and took such good care of Herbert. We received great communication with photos and videos showing him having a good time. He was taken on long walks and seems to have had a wonderful time playing with Piper. Our only concern was that Herbert wouldn’t want to come home!”

“Mayzie was absolutely amazing with Douglas! She was super responsive and friendly with communication beforehand and sent regular updates while Douglas was with her and he came home a very happy boy. Thank you!”

“We are so grateful that Karolina and Jose could look after our cocker spaniel Indie when we recently went away for a few days. We received photos and reassurance that Indie was fine, and seeing the pictures of Indie snuggled up with them was lovely. We have already booked Indie in for 2 more stays with Karolina later in the year - I am sure Indie has a very happy time. Thank you Karolina and Jose.”

“The moment I met Claudia I knew my dog would be in good hands. I received regular updates and despite missing me initially, Claudia knew how to make him get comfortable. She even got him to play, which Kevin rarely does at home. I also appreciate she got him to perform tricks he already knows. Thank you so much Claudia and we'll definitely book you again!”

“Norris loved his stay! He was a bit scared of the husky’s at first, but he settled really quickly then had a great time! He loved how active the house was, and he’s come home for a rest 😄”

About: I've grown up with dogs all my life! Well trained and calm dog idealls please with not too much walking required. Needs to get on with children please as I occasionally have my grandchildren round. I'm retired and generally free but cannot do long walks. Dogs will be treated as part of the family but need to get on with children. I have a fenced garden and dogs can roam free round the house. The area is quiet. Dogs allowed on furniture under supervision. Need to be trained to sleep in their bed at night.
“Ellie took our last minute booking and was super accommodating with our schedule changes. She took great care of our dog who was nervous about staying at a new place but settled in and made the most of the incredible woods to run in!”

“Sarah and family are excellent hosts for my dog Honey She was immediately happy with her surroundings and loved the walks she was taken on and I was happy she got on well with Sarah’s dog as well Many thanks”

“Stefanie and her husband were a joy to meet and to look after Otter. Otter had a great time with them. They had a lot of walks which Otter enjoys. I felt very confident to leave Otter with them. Thank you very much!”

“Caro and family looked after our precious lab for ten days. They are very loving with her and we know she is in safe hands. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Caro as a sitter.”

“Our two labs Hob Nob and Crumpet had an amazing holiday with Daria and her family, great walks and adventures, lots of pupdates for us too. I'm surprised they got back in the car at the end of the stay to come home! Meeting Daria and the family in the park before going to the house was a nice touch as our dogs socialised nicely with hers and we had a nice walk getting to know the family, which was an absolute pleasure. The house was nice and spacious and they had a garden also. This was our first use of Rover.com and we had an excellent experience. Thank you.”

“I highly recommend Carly and her lovely family. I contacted her at short notice to request an overnight stay for my French Bulldog. Communication was excellent - Carly sent message/photo updates to put my mind at rest. Lovely to now have a local, trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you Carly and family 💗”

Yet again, Talab done a wonderful job of looking after our precious girl. Luna is always so happy to see him and he knows all her ways and we can see how he loves all the dogs he cares for. Talab gives the dogs plenty of exercise, cuddles and love. It really is a place you can be sure your dog will be loved.

Sent my Luna for 9 nights and we were all so worried as this was the first time we have ever had to leave her. Fatima and family were brilliant with Clover, who is not an easy dog. She sent us loads of lovely and reassuring updates, videos and photos, which helped us relax and enjoy our holiday as we were quite anxious. I don't think Clover wanted to come home she had such a lovely time with her new pack! Fatima was also very happy to meet up in the run up to the holiday and now afterwards, too, which is lovely. We now have a trusted relationship that we'll definitely use again - thank you!!!

Sammy was fantastic! She took my booking pretty last minute after I was let down by a friend and there was no fuss. She really kept me updated over the whole weekend with pics and videos which was lovely. She was really accommodating with my plans changing, too. Bodhi had a great time and there was no fuss at all… he came home happy and didn’t seem to be totally upset like he usually is when I leave him which made me relax. I will 100 percent use her again if she would have Bodhi LOVE HER!! X

Beyza is a very loving sitter who makes sure your dog's needs are met at all times. She can accommodate long period requests last-minute, which is a life saver for anyone with emergencies. She also has a lovely and well trained puppy, so your dog will never have a dull moment during their stay!

Candi saved our entire summer trip! After our first booking didn't work out at the last minute, Candi immediately agreed to take our dog Holly even though it was late at night. Holly settled in there immediately, and judging by the photos that Candi sent us daily, had the most wonderful time. I think she is missing Candi and the fun at Candi's house still!!

We left our Samoyed with David for about two weeks while we were away on holiday. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our dog had to be dropped off from a friend's house rather than directly from our home, and I was quite worried about the handover. However, David was very accommodating and made the process much easier than I had anticipated. David's communication was good throughout, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It would have been lovely to receive a few more photos and updates, but I appreciate that caring for the dogs keeps him busy. Simba seemed happy and well cared for when we returned, and we are grateful for David's help.

Amanda looked after my dog, Toby, for a week and everything went really smoothly. Toby seemed to have a lot of fun and get a lot of attention from her and her family. I would highly recommend Amanda as a dog sitter to anyone. She knows what she's doing and was very friendly and professional throughout, giving me regular updates during the week. I'm already planning on using her services again soon.

Sarah was an amazing dog sitter for Axel. She kept us updated throughout with lots of photos and messages, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Axel was clearly very happy and well looked after. We would definitely recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be using her again in the future!

Felt very comfortable leaving my anxious dog Coco with Brittany who kept us updated with pictures and comments during the day. We had arranged a short meet and greet beforehand which was useful and reassuring as I could see this was an environment Coco would feel settled in.

I was very anxious about leaving my dog for the first time to go on holiday. But there is absolutely no need. Daria kept me informed every day with photographs and videos. It was a great comfort to know he was being so well looked after and certainly looked as if he was enjoying himself the interaction with her children and her other dogs was fantastic hatch my dog became one of the family. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to ask Daria to take care of him again

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
