“Lucy was wonderful from the moment we made contact. My mum was really nervous about using this service but Lucy put mums mind at rest straight away. Lucy met Mikey before the booking and this gave my mum the opportunity to ask questions and to see Mikey in the environment, which he was fine with. While we were away we got regular photo's and updated which mum loved. Thank you Lucy, Mikey had a wonderful time and we will definitely use your services again.”

About: I am very experienced with high energy dogs and training! I have had my own dogs since I was 3, 2 boxer dogs and a jack Russell. I now have 2 cocker spaniels and a cat. I walk them everyday and have a great home set up for dogs with toys and a good sized secure garden for playing. I am available at all times to care for the animals! I have 2 dogs of my own and my days work around them and getting in a good off lead, stimulating walk. I have a safe and secure garden, 2 dogs of my own and a cat. I walk everyday sometimes twice a day! the dogs are never left for longer than 2 hours at a time.
“Norris loved his stay! He was a bit scared of the husky’s at first, but he settled really quickly then had a great time! He loved how active the house was, and he’s come home for a rest 😄”

About: As an experienced dog sitter, I provide a safe, caring, and reliable environment for every dog in my care. Having previously owned a dog myself, I understand the importance of meeting each dog’s individual needs, including exercise, companionship, routine, and plenty of attention. I genuinely love animals and take pride in ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. My son also enjoys spending time with dogs, which means your pet will receive plenty of affection and companionship in a warm, family-oriented home. I treat every dog as if they were my own and am committed to providing the highest standard of care throughout their stay. I currently only work park time and only 8-1 so have weekends free and Mondays and Thursdays! My working days are Tuesday Wednesday Fridays 8-1 I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved at all times. In my home, I provide a warm and welcoming environment where pets can enjoy plenty of playtime, and affection. I stick to their usual routines for feeding, walks, and rest so they feel secure and at ease. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely to maintain consistency in the pet’s routine. I make sure they get the right balance of attention, play, and rest, while also keeping the home tidy and cared for. No matter where I’m caring for pets, I treat them like part of the family and give them the same love and attention I’d want for my own. I don’t have a garden but I have a big field at the end of my road!
“Thank you Maria and family. Jasper had a lovely time with you. It was reassuring to have photos and updates and nice to see what he was up to! Lots of fun and cuddles had - happy boy with you. Thank you. Maria is a super understanding host who pays attention to detail to ensure she fully understands dogs routines and needs. Very responsive to messages.”

“Our usual dog sitter has moved away too far so found Alisha on here. So glad we found her! Luna and Murphy have got on soo well. She’s very playful and full on and Murphy is so chilled and accepts her. Alisha was so good when meeting Luna and Luna instantly liked her. She can be a bit funny with men but also instantly liked Alisha’s husband, Dan. Really appreciated Alisha doing a meet and greet and having Luna for a free daycare to ensure Luna was comfortable. She’s also helped to work on Luna’s recall and heel walking. Would definitely recommend Alisha and will use her as our sitter now!”

“Carly and her family were so lovely. They looked after Remy and settled him well and were very patient with him as he is a very nervous rescue dog. I was regularly updated and sent photos which i loved. I would book with Carly and her family again ❤️”

“Charlie had a lovely time staying with Katie. I really appreciated the daily updates and photos—it gave me peace of mind knowing that Charlie was in good hands. It’s clear Katie truly cares about the dogs she looks after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Katie to anyone looking for a kind and reliable dog sitter.”

“Our two labs Hob Nob and Crumpet had an amazing holiday with Daria and her family, great walks and adventures, lots of pupdates for us too. I'm surprised they got back in the car at the end of the stay to come home! Meeting Daria and the family in the park before going to the house was a nice touch as our dogs socialised nicely with hers and we had a nice walk getting to know the family, which was an absolute pleasure. The house was nice and spacious and they had a garden also. This was our first use of Rover.com and we had an excellent experience. Thank you.”

“Once again Luna had a wonderful stay with Pitchaya! She is so helpful, responsive and very very caring ❤️❤️ the best feedback I can say is when we arrived Luna just sprinted in and wasn't at all bothered about me. 🤣🤣😢”

“Pebbles was very well looked after by Candi! She was treated like a member of the family and we got loads of pictures which was a lovely touch. We’ll be booking her in for our next break for sure!”

“T is amazing. He had our pup for 12 days during our summer hols and she easily had as good a time as we did! A truly dedicated and compassionate dog man, T did way more than just “look after” our dog - he cared for her like she was his own, helped with her training, listened to her needs and tailored her experience with him accordingly, matched her caringly and deliberately with any other dogs that he had to stay. And he kept us updated throughout with pics and videos. A very reassuring and positive stay for us all - we will definitely use him the next time we need some doggy care. Thanks T! ??”

“We recently had Craig and Jen look after our dog, Eva, while we were on holiday, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the moment we booked through Rover, the process was super easy and seamless. Craig and Jen were amazing hosts for Eva, keeping us updated with regular photos and videos of her playing and enjoying her walks. It was so reassuring to see how happy she was, and she even got along wonderfully with their family pet dog! Eva came home content and not at all resentful about us being away—if anything, she seemed like she would have happily stayed with Craig, Jen, and their family longer! It’s clear they treated her as one of their own. We’re so relieved to have found such a loving and welcoming family for Eva to stay with, and we will definitely be reaching out to Craig and Jen again the next time we need a dog sitter. Highly recommended!”

“This was our first time boarding our dog, so naturally we were a little nervous, but Fiona and Kev were utterly amazing with Charlie. They made us (and Charlie) feel so welcome, and Charlie loved their company. It made our holiday all the more relaxing knowing Charlie was having his own holiday as well. Highly recommend”

“Eleanor was brilliant with our Staffy, Peggy. Peggy had a great week with her and her family, she enjoyed lots of cuddles and also enjoyed all the sticks she could find in the very extensive woodland that is out the back of the house! Eleanor kept us updated with how Peggy was and managed the medication she has everyday without any issue. Overall very pleased to have found her and would recommend for dog boarding.”

“Sophia looked after our 3 year old cocker spaniel overnight whilst we went to a wedding. We did a meet and greet beforehand. Sophia and her whole family were lovely, and their little dog Millie was very friendly. Archie was well loved and cared for during his stay. Sophia sent regular updates to let us know how he was and also pictures which was great. We would definitely recommend Sophia and wouldn't hesitate to book her again!!”

“Arlo had a lovely time and met some new friends, even tho it was a very last minute booking and they had never met, he seemed very content. I also received photo updates which I loved seeing. Thank you Bronn :)”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Crawley
We left our Samoyed with David for about two weeks while we were away on holiday. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our dog had to be dropped off from a friend's house rather than directly from our home, and I was quite worried about the handover. However, David was very accommodating and made the process much easier than I had anticipated. David's communication was good throughout, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It would have been lovely to receive a few more photos and updates, but I appreciate that caring for the dogs keeps him busy. Simba seemed happy and well cared for when we returned, and we are grateful for David's help.

Amanda looked after my dog, Toby, for a week and everything went really smoothly. Toby seemed to have a lot of fun and get a lot of attention from her and her family. I would highly recommend Amanda as a dog sitter to anyone. She knows what she's doing and was very friendly and professional throughout, giving me regular updates during the week. I'm already planning on using her services again soon.

Sarah was an amazing dog sitter for Axel. She kept us updated throughout with lots of photos and messages, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Axel was clearly very happy and well looked after. We would definitely recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be using her again in the future!

Felt very comfortable leaving my anxious dog Coco with Brittany who kept us updated with pictures and comments during the day. We had arranged a short meet and greet beforehand which was useful and reassuring as I could see this was an environment Coco would feel settled in.

I was very anxious about leaving my dog for the first time to go on holiday. But there is absolutely no need. Daria kept me informed every day with photographs and videos. It was a great comfort to know he was being so well looked after and certainly looked as if he was enjoying himself the interaction with her children and her other dogs was fantastic hatch my dog became one of the family. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to ask Daria to take care of him again

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
