“Norris loved his stay! He was a bit scared of the husky’s at first, but he settled really quickly then had a great time! He loved how active the house was, and he’s come home for a rest 😄”

About: I have always been an animal lover. I grew up with cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Since becoming a home owner 6 years ago I quickly rescued my first dog Flora and fell in love. Shortly after I then rehomed my second dog Frankie. I see them as my children. Whenever family or friends are away I always jump at the chance to pet sit. I live near 2 fields perfect for walkies and just a short walk to tilgate forest where we often go. I have a lovely fenced garden, perfect for playing and treat hunting. My home also has stair gates, perfect for slow and gradual introductions which I believe is key. I am a true believer that dogs are better than people. I look forward to giving your pets the love and fuss they all deserve. I currently work part time, 3 days a week, so will have plenty of time to look after your pets. When I am home, I rarely go out meaning your pets would have company almost all of the time. I am happy to have your dog all week if they are able to be left on the days that I work, this is open to discussion. I have a large fenced garden and a home over 2 floors with stair gates to give all pets space if needed. All dogs are allowed on furniture and beds. I will offer a home from home environment for your fur babies.

About: Hi! I’m Kirsty, and I’m a huge animal lover with a particular soft spot for dogs. 🐶❤️ I’ve always loved dogs and spent my childhood wishing I could have one of my own. Unfortunately, allergies in my household meant that wasn’t possible growing up, so I made the most of every opportunity to spend time with friends’ and family members’ dogs. Thankfully, I’m now a very proud dog dad to Walter, my one year old pug! He’s incredibly friendly, playful and absolutely loves having other dogs around. He’s become a huge part of my life and has given me lots of hands-on experience caring for a young dog and everything that comes with it! I have a spacious, dog-friendly home and would love to welcome your furry family member into it. I want dogs staying with me to feel like they’re having a little holiday of their own, rather than simply being somewhere away from home. I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, affection, playtime, walks and, of course, cuddles! 🥰 I’m also very happy to follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medication, walks and any little habits that help them feel comfortable. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet with someone else, so communication is really important to me. I’m more than happy to send regular updates and photos so you can see exactly what your pup is getting up to while they’re with me ☺️ Every dog has their own personality and needs, and I’ll always take the time to get to know yours. Whether they’re an energetic ball of chaos, a professional cuddler, or somewhere in between, they’ll be treated like one of the family while they’re here. ❤️🐶 I work from home 4 days a week, with the exception of Tuesday’s when I’m in office, which means your pet will have plenty of company and supervision throughout the day. I’m able to give them regular attention, toilet breaks, playtime and cuddles, while also making sure they have plenty of opportunities to rest and settle. I understand that every pet has their own routine and personality, so I’ll always discuss their usual schedule with you beforehand and do my best to keep things familiar. This includes following their normal feeding times, walks, toilet breaks, sleep routine and any other care they’re used to at home. Depending on how long I have your pet for, a typical day might include: 🍽️ Breakfast according to their usual routine 🎾 Playtime and plenty of attention throughout the morning 💻 Company and supervision while I work 🌿 Regular toilet breaks and opportunities to stretch their legs 🐕 A walk or suitable exercise during the day 😴 Plenty of quiet time and naps 🍽️ Dinner following their usual feeding schedule ❤️ Evening cuddles, playtime and another toilet break before settling down for the night Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. I’ll make sure they are supervised appropriately, particularly when meeting Walter or exploring a new environment. Introductions will be calm and gradual, and I’ll always take their individual personality and comfort level into consideration. I have a fenced garden and a large park near to my house that your pet will be able to explore however much they need. I’ll also follow any specific instructions you provide regarding food, treats, walks, medication, allergies or anything else that could affect their wellbeing. I’m happy to keep certain areas of the home off-limits if needed and will make sure doors, gates and other exits are secure to prevent any adventurous escapees! I want your pet to feel comfortable enough to relax and enjoy themselves, while giving you peace of mind that they’re being looked after in a safe, loving home.

“Candi helped us out of short notice cancellation-thank you Candi, putting up With our boisterous Alfie for 4 nights would not of been easy but Candi found away to do it.”

“Bronn looked after Dexter so well that he's sulking. I had photos sent to me daily and could see that he was enjoying himself. She took him for regular walks and he has come home very playful. Thank you Bronn.”

“Craig and Jen were brilliant. Our dog Monty had a brilliant time and enjoyed playing with their lovely dog on walks. Judging from the photos / video, Monty was very comfortable with them. Won’t hesitate to have our dog board with them again.”

“Pitcha took great care of Frisco and kept us well updated throughout his stay. It was great to see he had an amazing time with Bacon, and has come home a very happy and tired pupper 😀”

About: I am very experienced with high energy dogs and training! I have had my own dogs since I was 3, 2 boxer dogs and a jack Russell. I now have 2 cocker spaniels and a cat. I walk them everyday and have a great home set up for dogs with toys and a good sized secure garden for playing. I am available at all times to care for the animals! I have 2 dogs of my own and my days work around them and getting in a good off lead, stimulating walk. I have a safe and secure garden, 2 dogs of my own and a cat. I walk everyday sometimes twice a day! the dogs are never left for longer than 2 hours at a time.
“Absolutely fantastic!! Flo was well loved and looked after, long walks and plenty of cuddles. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone in need of a dogsitter. We will certainly bring Flo back whenever we go away next and are unable to bring Flo. Thank you, Sarah & family for all your support.”

“Eleanor was brilliant with our Staffy, Peggy. Peggy had a great week with her and her family, she enjoyed lots of cuddles and also enjoyed all the sticks she could find in the very extensive woodland that is out the back of the house! Eleanor kept us updated with how Peggy was and managed the medication she has everyday without any issue. Overall very pleased to have found her and would recommend for dog boarding.”

“Angela was so amazing! Our dog Burt had a lovely time and seemed very happy with his walks and cuddles. I knew he was having a wonderful visit while we were away. Would highly recommend Angela!”

“Sammy was fantastic! She took my booking pretty last minute after I was let down by a friend and there was no fuss. She really kept me updated over the whole weekend with pics and videos which was lovely. She was really accommodating with my plans changing, too. Bodhi had a great time and there was no fuss at all… he came home happy and didn’t seem to be totally upset like he usually is when I leave him which made me relax. I will 100 percent use her again if she would have Bodhi LOVE HER!! X”

“Ozzy had a brilliant time at Charlotte’s place. Whenever he stays we know he’s in the best hands possible! 🤗 Charlotte is super helpful and very responsive, we have used her dog walking services and dog boarding previously, we know we will get a very good experience each time. Ozzy is looking forward for his next stay!”

About: I grew up with dogs in my home all my life and also had a cat, so caring for animals has always been part of my everyday routine. I’ve worked in a grooming parlour where I washed, handled and cared for dogs of all sizes, giving me hands‑on experience with different temperaments and needs. Friends and family often rely on me to look after their cats, so I’m very comfortable with feline personalities and routines too. I’m reliable, gentle and always make sure every pet feels safe, understood and well cared for. I have a flexible weekly routine, which means I can easily fit pet care into my day. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop‑ins and sitting, and I always make sure I have enough time to give each pet proper attention, play and care. Your pet will never feel rushed or overlooked! When pets stay in my home, I make sure they have a calm, safe space to relax and settle in. I have a fenced garden where they can enjoy secure outdoor time, and I always supervise them to keep things safe. I follow each pet’s usual routine so they feel comfortable and at ease. When I’m caring for pets in an owner’s home, I respect their space, stick closely to feeding and walk schedules, and follow any instructions you leave. Whether in my home or yours, I focus on creating a trusting, consistent environment where pets feel happy and well cared for 🐶🐈
“Daria is so sweet and kind. I’m sure my dog, Kurin, had a wonderful time with her. I could see that from his eyes. Daria also sent me lots of lovely pictures of Kurin everyday. That really set my mind at ease. I’d love to ask Daria to take care of Kurin next time again.: )”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences – Crawley
I am so happy that I have found Sammy, she genuinely loves dogs, this isn’t just a job for her. she looked after my boy like he was her own, and I’m so grateful, I was able to go away on holiday knowing that he was safe and loved whilst I wasn’t there, and I didn’t worry once. Sammy regularly updated me with photos and videos, and I could see for myself how happy Jax was. Thank you Sammy, I will definitely be using your wonderful services again, and I couldn’t recommend her more!

It was our first time using this service. Lucy was very reassuring, sending pictures and giving updates on how Murphy was getting on. He enjoyed playing with new friends. This overnight stay, at Lucy’s suggestion, has given us confidence for a slightly longer stay for Murphy with her in a few weeks time.

Our first time using Rover and Germaine was great with our reactive lurcher, Rocky. He stayed with her for 10 days and she was so accommodating of his various quirks and the idea of taking him to a secure field as we are still working on his reactivity. Rocky seemed immediately comfortable with her and had a great stay. She sent lovely regular photo and video updates. Overall, great! So so grateful.

Rachel and Quin were really great, took Luke on short notice and a nice meet in the park, very friendly and professional, Quin is a lovely boy and matched Luke's vibe perfectly, Luke seemed very happy and at home when we picked him up. 100% recomend Rachel's services and will be rebooking when the opportunity comes.

Beyza is a very loving sitter who makes sure your dog's needs are met at all times. She can accommodate long period requests last-minute, which is a life saver for anyone with emergencies. She also has a lovely and well trained puppy, so your dog will never have a dull moment during their stay!

Candi saved our entire summer trip! After our first booking didn't work out at the last minute, Candi immediately agreed to take our dog Holly even though it was late at night. Holly settled in there immediately, and judging by the photos that Candi sent us daily, had the most wonderful time. I think she is missing Candi and the fun at Candi's house still!!

We left our Samoyed with David for about two weeks while we were away on holiday. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our dog had to be dropped off from a friend's house rather than directly from our home, and I was quite worried about the handover. However, David was very accommodating and made the process much easier than I had anticipated. David's communication was good throughout, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It would have been lovely to receive a few more photos and updates, but I appreciate that caring for the dogs keeps him busy. Simba seemed happy and well cared for when we returned, and we are grateful for David's help.

Amanda looked after my dog, Toby, for a week and everything went really smoothly. Toby seemed to have a lot of fun and get a lot of attention from her and her family. I would highly recommend Amanda as a dog sitter to anyone. She knows what she's doing and was very friendly and professional throughout, giving me regular updates during the week. I'm already planning on using her services again soon.

Sarah was an amazing dog sitter for Axel. She kept us updated throughout with lots of photos and messages, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Axel was clearly very happy and well looked after. We would definitely recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter, and we’ll definitely be using her again in the future!

Felt very comfortable leaving my anxious dog Coco with Brittany who kept us updated with pictures and comments during the day. We had arranged a short meet and greet beforehand which was useful and reassuring as I could see this was an environment Coco would feel settled in.

I was very anxious about leaving my dog for the first time to go on holiday. But there is absolutely no need. Daria kept me informed every day with photographs and videos. It was a great comfort to know he was being so well looked after and certainly looked as if he was enjoying himself the interaction with her children and her other dogs was fantastic hatch my dog became one of the family. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to ask Daria to take care of him again

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
